HP mini5102 interruption using high CPU after sleep / resume

I have the same problem described recently (without solution) on the Forum of Support HP Business. After resume from sleep, 5102 HPmini consumes constantly about 30% of the capacity of the CPU even with the system at idle. Sunny (0-3% CPU use at idle) before going to sleep. As Roderick Laird (copied below) I've already got rid of wireless assistant that caused a different problem of high CPU usage (100% CPU use even before you sleep / resume, now fixed by an update of the version unless served for those who want to keep the wireless assistant).

Consumption of futile processor by 30% after standby/sleep is due to material interruptions (revealed by Sysinternals Process Explorer). I understand that may be due to problems such as several drivers attempting to control a device (for example, after a faulty update). But I have no idea how find the offending device or drivers.

My guess is that many owners of this model simply did not notice the problem and they areassuming the poor performance is due to the atom processor netbook. You must use Task Manager or performance monitor to view CPU usage high, and process Explorer to find it hardware interrupts.

If anyone has found the cause / solution?

HP, help to resolve this issue please--nobody wants netbooks HP fall into the category "do not buy" due to persistent problems with the futile CPU usage. The HP mini 5102 is the flagship model!

Ref:

"Author subject: HP mini5102 interruption high CPU usage after standby Roderick Laird 24 March 2010 04:03:03 GMT - I see of other HP5102 users having problems with high use of the processor of the Wireless Wizard operation amok; I avoided this by disabling the corresponding services. But one problem remains. The system works beautifully/effectively from a cold start. However, if I go back I think that interruptions are consumes about 35% of the cycles CPU. Not something that I want to pass battery on. I made sure that all the drivers are the latest versions according to the HP support site. I also tried disabling the obvious drivers that might be wrong (wireless, ethernet, audio, non-touchpad mouse)... »

Update the Intel AHCI 9.6.4.1002 driver (iastor.sys) removes the futile CPU usage after sleep from 30% to 20%. This is not in the drivers of HP, but is available at Intel. Subsequently the chipset driver updates might solve the problem. In the meantime:

Disabling in BIOS Drivelock completely eliminates the problem!

Apparently users who want a computer that is useful after sleep / summary to know somehow ignore the advice of stern of HP in the BIOS that Drivelock is recommended for safety.

It cost a lot of time to resolve, with no whatesover help to be published by HP. My consolation is that by systematically eliminating all the bloatware and other services-waste of unused resources, pilots and scheduled tasks automatically loaded on the system (while trying to find the cause of the CPU / interrupt use) I now have a mini 5102 (SSD) that:

* Cold boots Win 7 Pro 32 in less than 30 seconds (including wireless access)

* Stops in less than 8 seconds

* Beds / back in 1-2 seconds

* Consumes less than 600 MB of RAM at idle

Try each of them in order. A test to see if the computer works properly:

    1. Reset the PRAM
    2. Reset the controller (SMC) system management
    3. Start the computer in Safe Mode, and then restart normally. It's slower than a standard home.
    4. Repair the disk by booting to the recovery HD immediately after the chime press keys control and R that the Utility Menu appears. Choose disk utility and click on the button continue. • Use high CPU (35% average) while System Idle process CPU about 98% but frustrated by "[name of the prog] has stopped working".

    Hello

I am trying to help someone with a laptop HP model g6-1202sa (Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit, another record at the end of the post).

I think that Windows is now updated and drivers, but the problem remains also.

The laptop has the symptoms mentioned in the title I found the Manager tasks.  Laptop fan is on a large part of the time, and the owner says that, during the execution of something more intensive than Skype for example of internet browsing, they get a warning from Norton on high CPU. Resource monitor shows that system interrupts are on average about 31% CPU.

The results, I found the task manager has led to some research on Google, which in turn led me to want to run adksetup.exe (Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit) in the hope of discovering if a particular driver is causing the problem. (Various threads on the internet point to what is the way to go).

However, after downloading adksetup.exe, when I try to launch it I get the initial screen of Toolbox and then 'assessment of Windows and the deployment for Windows 8.1 Kit has stopped working ". (Verification of the solution finally gives the only option to "Close the program").  Similarly, I have now discovered that if I try to look at the properties of the computer, i.e. start > right click on computer > left click on properties, I get "Windows Explorer has stopped working". Do more research on Google I find sometimes I get "Internet Explorer has stopped working" sometimes (Chrome is ok).  More out of curiosity than anything specific I ran AMD VISION Engine Control Center after right click on the desktop and ended with 'Catalyst Control Center; The host Application has stopped working".

So before going any further, does anyone have any ideas what's happening?   I do not understand the problems 'has stopped working"in safe mode, but the high utilization of the processor with System Idle Process around 98% is still there.  It appears so that I can run adksetup.exe in safe mode while this would be the way to proceed and continue to try to tackle the problem of CPU?

For the record, some of the things I've done along the way include update of Windows, updating drivers, running the file system (no violation of integrity) checker, a regular chkdsk ("CHKDSK discovered free space marked allocated in the master file table (MFT) bitmap. Correcting errors in the volume bitmap. Windows has made corrections to the file system").  Swapped the only module memory 4GB 2 x 1 GB modules I had to hang out, all the symptoms remained 4 GB then reinstalled.

  • Use high processor after installing XP SP3.

Original title: XP and Service Pack 3

After you install service pack 3, there is demand of 100 percent on the CPU and system idle is at 99 percent. Service pack Uninstall and re-installation of service pack 2 resolves the memory leak? Computer slows down the equivalent of a pentium 75.

This seems to be the norm with users of AMD in various forums on the net.

Closed all programs, suspended, startup programs and of the cpu is at 100%. I even tried a reformat and a clean install to resolve possible conflicts, software and hardware, unplug everything except the local drive / logic.

It is so hard to install Windows 8, and solve it can put an end to a mass of complaints of installation failures that many are asked to cover. Which I am part.

I'm under MB, AMD 1.8, 3000 + Ram / 2 concerts. A basement and old configuration, but this problem is not limited to the mine, but dual and quads as well. Anyone have any ideas?

After you install service pack 3, there is demand of 100 percent on the CPU and system idle is at 99 percent.

This sentence is a virtual contradiction.  You seem to misunderstand the meaning of "The system idle process."  Idle = not active or in use.

If the System Idle process is at 99%, so there is a demand of 1% on the CPU.

    In fact, no..  :-)
I saw the performance of the Task Manager tab shows 100% CPU activity. And everything grinds to stop. Then I go to the processes tab and no process is proved be using these cycles. And Yes, SystemIdleProcess is wrong showing that 99%.
It is almost always the result of the presence of malware (which is intended to be as invisible as possible). Of course, it could also be the result of an update failed due the presence of greedy of security software, as you reminded me in your message. :-)

Aloha, I have a Mobile HP EliteBook 8530w workstation. I had very slow startup problems. I have improved a certain drivers by Driver Detective program recommendations. Starting time is great now. I found the file but am denied access when I try to remove it. I wonder if I can get rid of the entire record of fingerprint sensor without causing problems? Help, please! Thank you

Your problem is caused by the Authentec software that is loaded by the fingerprint sensor.

    Help, please!

My HP dv9000 is slow.  PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT INFO YOU NEED ME!  In the Task Manager, under the terms of 'process', it indicates that there are FOUR INSTANCES of internet explorer running, but I only have one window open (with a tab).  I hear my hard drive constantly running and it drives me crazy (and make me cry for my poor computer).  The 4 iexplore.exe (IE8) use respectively 110 000 - 82 300-78 000 - and 8000 K.  Is this normal?

I don't know if we are more concerned by the "CPU" column or in the column "memory (private beach).  In the CPU column, HP Digital Imaging Monitor uses 50.  Is this normal?

Please, I just want my computer to be able to relax.  I'm afraid it's going to explode (not literally, but that's what it looks like!).

  • Use high CPU; Could not find the problem.

Hello. This is my first posting on this Web site. I came across a problem last night after rebooting my computer, where a game I start or even a little intensive, I opened, my CPU usage increases by 14% to ~ 100% instantly. I tried this on many programs such as Minecraft, all games on Steam, Firefall and even some of Malwarebytes when I scan if a virus is the cause. None of my anti-virus software found a virus, so I'm suspicious as to what may be the problem. Here are my computer specs:

    Processor: Intel Core i5-3550 CPU @ 3.30 GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.3GHz
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
    Memory: RAM 8192MB
    OS: Windows 7

In one of our Production Server is a process called "svctimesag.exe" using high CPU. This problem has been detected the day before.

For immediate solution, we killed the process, but it did not help, then you need to restart our server.

In the past 24 hours this process has shoot to the top of the CPU twice and you need to restart the server with force.

  • After sleeping cpu mode goes higher...

These screenshots are taken after waking from sleep mode

    Hello Christine,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have problems with high CPU usage after the wake up the computer from sleep mode. Please follow the following suggestions to solve the problem.

You can try to modify the diet plan and see if that helps. You can create and customize your own power plans.

    1. Open Power Options by dragging in the edge right of the screen, quilting Search (or if you use a mouse, pointing to the top right of the screen, move the pointer of the mouse down and then clicking search), recording the power options in the search box and typing or clicking power options.

    2. Press or click create a power plan and follow the instructions.

  • Dell Latitude E7440 CPU speed capped after sleep

My laptop Dell Latitude E7440 provided with Windows 8.1 at the time wherever I bought it. I did not notice this problem until I upgraded to Windows 10.

Sometimes, when I put the laptop to sleep and resume at a later date, the speed of the CPU is limited to all about 0.78 GHz and switching to High Performance mode won't help. The computer becomes very slow and the only way to solve this reboot.

I have the latest version of the BIOS installed (A15) and the other drivers are also updated.

I've seen other threads saying that the problem is to use Dell Power companion but I do not use it. I have 2 power adapters that I use with this laptop, one of them is a Dell 90W Adapter. I'm not sure about the other that I don't have it right now, but an original came with the laptop.

Any temporary/permanent fix for this? Thank you.

I solved this problem. Downgrade BIOS A01 and updated step by step each single release - A01 > A02 > A03... > A15. Now, I'm on A15 BIOS and there is no problem with CPU after suspension. I7-4600u, W8.1 x 64.

  • High CPU on Win10 use

I have very high CPU usage in all the browsers that I use (FF, Opera, Opera Beta and Chrome). Each page with Flash Player and each image-heavy page causes my CPU to lash out. Until my upgrade to win 10 at least my PC didn't not prevent that. Now after the upgrade I suffer from this too. I have PC freeze 3 - 4 times a week when the high CPU usage occurs. I wonder why Adobe is so silent on this very serious issue. No doubt if there was an alternative to Flash Player, they would be more willing to solve so that people don't not to choose the other.

PS. change always activate to activate in FF did not help.

You need to try a new profile without any addons. I suspect that one of these addons or more are in competition with other things. Add you addons back one by one until that narrow you the problem. In addition, you mentioned in you OP you have a celeron processor. I've dealt with these processors and they are a budget/low end treatment, and this could be a huge part of your question after seeing other things.

I use ABP and don't suffer from any problem, I see it shows top sometimes, but still not really my performance in Firefox, I doubt that bookmarks are a problem. I went on this site and run the function shown in the screenshot and only maxed out at 44% cpu; However, it is an i - 7 cpu 6700 w/16BG of use mempory + 4 video BG.

I suggest you go to google and type in "processhacker", it might give you a better breakdown on what is using what. I think that your CPU has trouble following what I suspect.
