Hello Christine,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have problems with high CPU usage after the wake up the computer from sleep mode. Please follow the following suggestions to solve the problem.

You can try to modify the diet plan and see if that helps. You can create and customize your own power plans.

  1. Open Power Options by dragging in the edge right of the screen, quilting Search (or if you use a mouse, pointing to the top right of the screen, move the pointer of the mouse down and then clicking search), recording the power options in the search box and typing or clicking power options.

  • HP mini5102 interruption using high CPU after sleep / resume

I have the same problem described recently (without solution) on the Forum of Support HP Business. After resume from sleep, 5102 HPmini consumes constantly about 30% of the capacity of the CPU even with the system at idle. Sunny (0-3% CPU use at idle) before going to sleep. As Roderick Laird (copied below) I've already got rid of wireless assistant that caused a different problem of high CPU usage (100% CPU use even before you sleep / resume, now fixed by an update of the version unless served for those who want to keep the wireless assistant).

Consumption of futile processor by 30% after standby/sleep is due to material interruptions (revealed by Sysinternals Process Explorer). I understand that may be due to problems such as several drivers attempting to control a device (for example, after a faulty update). But I have no idea how find the offending device or drivers.

My guess is that many owners of this model simply did not notice the problem and they areassuming the poor performance is due to the atom processor netbook. You must use Task Manager or performance monitor to view CPU usage high, and process Explorer to find it hardware interrupts.

If anyone has found the cause / solution?

HP, help to resolve this issue please--nobody wants netbooks HP fall into the category "do not buy" due to persistent problems with the futile CPU usage. The HP mini 5102 is the flagship model!

    Ref:

"Author subject: HP mini5102 interruption high CPU usage after standby Roderick Laird 24 March 2010 04:03:03 GMT - I see of other HP5102 users having problems with high use of the processor of the Wireless Wizard operation amok; I avoided this by disabling the corresponding services. But one problem remains. The system works beautifully/effectively from a cold start. However, if I go back I think that interruptions are consumes about 35% of the cycles CPU. Not something that I want to pass battery on. I made sure that all the drivers are the latest versions according to the HP support site. I also tried disabling the obvious drivers that might be wrong (wireless, ethernet, audio, non-touchpad mouse)... »

Update the Intel AHCI 9.6.4.1002 driver (iastor.sys) removes the futile CPU usage after sleep from 30% to 20%. This is not in the drivers of HP, but is available at Intel. Subsequently the chipset driver updates might solve the problem. In the meantime:

Disabling in BIOS Drivelock completely eliminates the problem!

Apparently users who want a computer that is useful after sleep / summary to know somehow ignore the advice of stern of HP in the BIOS that Drivelock is recommended for safety.

It cost a lot of time to resolve, with no whatesover help to be published by HP. My consolation is that by systematically eliminating all the bloatware and other services-waste of unused resources, pilots and scheduled tasks automatically loaded on the system (while trying to find the cause of the CPU / interrupt use) I now have a mini 5102 (SSD) that:

    * Cold boots Win 7 Pro 32 in less than 30 seconds (including wireless access)

    * Stops in less than 8 seconds

    * Beds / back in 1-2 seconds

    * Consumes less than 600 MB of RAM at idle

  • System goes into sleep/hibernation mode suddenly; sometimes THINKPAD Sun splash screen

I have a type-7EU, put T61P 6460 updated since the original factory with Win 7 and a Corsair SSD.  This problem occurred months after these upgrades.

Problem as a whole seems to be displayed in many ways, so I don't know what the root cause and whether or not the system can be repaired.

A few weeks ago, I found that I could not resume after sleep or Hibernate mode.  The system would start to recover, but the screen turns off and the "half moon" icon lit up.  However, instead of going completely to sleep, it seems to begin to restore once again, because the caps lock num lock light flashes and the DVD player would be 'would click,' as they do when first starting the system.

In other situations, when I first tries to start, the ThinkPAD splash screen is very low.  This happens until I see Win 7 menu to select Win7 or an older operating system to start.  Once I selected Win 7, the screen flashes between normal and total brightness black during the boot process. Usually, the system never ends completely to where I can connect to Windows.

Or, I can work after 5 minutes or an hour away, and then the system suddenly goes to sleep

Sometimes, I noticed that the vent near the upper left corner of the system is very hot.  But then I got this problem starting even when the system is off all day and probably cold.

Alternatively, I can work all day without any problems.

Can anyone advise on what could be the problem?  I'm looking at a motherboard replacement?  If so, is it possible to buy from an eBay seller?  Any recommendations?

OK guys, I don't know whether to apologize or grin because I came across a solution.

I'll try to answer all the answers to this one message.

I already downloaded the manual equipment, because about two months ago the screen on my T61p cracked badly, during a business trip.  Not good.  And in the coming days, the crack has continued to worsen.  When I got home, I find this manual and did an eBay search to find a replacement screen.  I also find a video on YouTube that shows how to disassemble the 'lid' (once removed from the main system) to change the screen. That everything worked well, except that it took several hours longer than I expected.  Going to pull apart the main system, I removed the wind and the heat sink and blew all the dust.

The way I solved this problem in all its manifestations, was to RESTORE control Plan for the Plan of power to all of the default values.  I had been playing with some advanced settings and noticed that some advanced settings settings did not share the same parameter values for the Basic setting, things like sleep and will point.

I can't that speculate that there are a few subtleties modes ensure Intel CPU, which can be programmed for Windows and are persistent through a reset or even a full stop. And I can also speculate that between Windows and the BIOS T61p, there are a few bugs in the way that these settings are configured.

In any case, once I did the reset to use, I can put my system to sleep or hiberate or close windows and the system still restarts when necessary.  I can also put my system to sleep by closing the lid of the screen and restart opening the cover.

Everything is good again, and I didn't have to spend the $$$.

Also, there are several months I upgraded to 8 GB of memory, of using a Crucial element.  Works very well, and I noticed that my MS Office apps now run faster, like Windows (64-bit).

This is therefore an envelope, I think that, as they say in Hollywood.

    Hello

Can you please tell us which version of Windows 7, you have installed? I mean if you have 32-bit or 64-bit.

Is it just that you use an external mouse?
The touchpad works after sleep mode? If so I think that it s something wrong with the external mouse maybe.

By the way: make sure that you use the latest version of the BIOS. You can find it on the page of Toshiba.

And as for the question of the Oracle, I think you should communicate directly with Oracle support. ;)

  • Some applications does not respond after sleep (El Capitan)

Product: 13 '' Macbook Pro retina (12.1) (base model sheet)

    El Capitan Version: 10.11.6

    The problem:

When I connect after that my Macbook went down, I often have problems with some of the stock apps. In particular, I had this problem with the Mail Messages, reminders and calendar. This seems to be a problem when they are open before putting the macbook to sleep. This same problem happened with non-apple-stock applications.

Once logged in, if I click on the application icon, the application window will come into focus. After that, I'm unable to use the application (as if frozen) and I often just see the spinning Rainbow mouse icon.

Can I force quit the app and then open it again, but now the application does not load.

To solve the problem, I can restart the macbook and all is well.

Some others probably associated with funny things I saw (only attracted to this once... but did not look at one time or another):

I open the calendar application after the macbook was sleeping and my full general calendar was empty (which would be nice if it were true!). In any case, I checked the 'accounts' and also found that there was no accounts! (I have 3 goes). So I wonder if there is a problem with the accounts after sleep since these apps I've had problems with all iCloud account and mail also uses some other accounts.

Big Question: Is there something I can do to make that happen?

Thank you very much for your help! Sorry if this is a double post, it is difficult to find an answer via google search.

Start Safe Mode removes the system caches that can help...

Follow these steps to start in safe mode.

    1. Start or restart your Mac.
    2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
    3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

After the Apple logo appears, this may take longer than usual to reach the login screen or your office. This is because your Mac performs a check of directory of your drive to boot in safe mode.

To leave safe mode, restart your computer without pressing any keys during startup.

Then try to Message, Mail, etc.

If you still have problems, check the startup disk.

Launch the disk utility located in/Applications/Utilities

Then select the disk to boot on the left and then select the first aid tab and then click run.

  • MacBook pro grey after sleep screen

I have documented on this problem for some time now on the MacBook screen goes black or rather a visible backlight gray but black screen after being in standby mode. I tried the reset SMC and command + Option + P + R. I am owner of a mid 2014 13 "macbook pro retina.

    Hi Youngnn,

Welcome to Apple Support communities. It is my understanding you are MacBook Pro shows a gray screen after being in mode 'sleep'. I want to help get this resolved with you.

You did a great job with the steps taken so far. At this point, I recommend this test in safe mode. Start in safe mode prevents the opening and start-up items to open automatically. Safe mode also allows your Mac to conduct some controls. If the problem does not occur in safe mode, it is possible to a startup item or logon are the cause. Please follow the steps below to start in safe mode:

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning

If the problem persists in safe mode try this test to another user. This will help determine whether specific user files, settings and apps cause this problem. Please use the link below to test in an another user account and additional steps:

  • Satellite T230 - wake up after sleep

    I'm faced with a problem on a new T230

After that the machine goes to sleep, with keyboard Wake enabled, it will not wake up little matter what I do. The only way out is to close and restart or set it to not sleep, which affect the main reason why I bought it, the claims of long battery life

    Any help will be welcome

    Hey,.

Do you see the same behavior when wake on the keyboard is disabled?
You use the preinstalled Windows 7 Toshiba?

To be honest it of really strange that the sleep mode doesn't properly work. I use often the standby and hibernation very often and it still works but I have disabled Wake on the keyboard of the battery without danger while it off s and I installed the latest version of the official website of Toshiba BIOS.

Do you have the latest version of the BIOS too?

  • Accounts, lost after sleep

    Hello

I have a problem with the accounts.

After sleep, the Macbook loses all accounts and applications such as mail, reminder, notes, calendar, Safari,... are suspended and do not respond.

The only solution I found is to restart the Macbook.

After the reboot, all accounts keep popping up.

Below, a screenshot with the accounts.

This screen is empty after sleep.

    Hi Damien_D,

Thank you for your participation in the communities of Support from Apple.

It seems that your MacBook Pro behaves unexpectedly after he wakes up from his sleep, and you cannot use Internet accounts until you restart.

I recommend going through these troubleshooting steps If your Mac does not sleep or wake up when expected. (Although the title of the article is different from what you see, the steps can help yet.)

    • Reset the SMC.
    • Reset the NVRAM.
    • Disconnect external devices other than your Apple keyboard, mouse, and screen. If that solves the problem, gradually reconnect your devices, testing each time until you find the device that interferes with sleep. And then check the documentation that came with the device or contact the manufacturer of the device.
    • Start in Safe Mode to see if the problem is related to startup items not Apple, login items or kernel extensions.
    • Try to isolate the problem by using a different user account.

    Best regards.

  • HP envy x 2 wifi after sleep

    Hello

I have a HP Envy X 2 g001-el Atom convertible netbook with detachable keyboard.

    upgrade to win8.1

Home wifi network, it must 'autoconnect' to this network.

The fact is that when I turn the laptop, plug in and working properly.

Whenever I take the operating system (without turning it off), I have to disconnect and reconnect in the case otherwise it won't surf the web or any other task related to the internet.

When this happens, if I'm going to nd command line, run the IPCONFIG command I see he has the right address IP/subnet mask and gateway

Ping to the gateway gets timeout

I think it's a driver problem, that's why I write under 'software '. Updated drivers.

Thanks to everyone for help me, he is a stupid bug

another small issue is that sometimes audio doesn't work and I have to restart

time sometimes change by himself at odd hours

the trackpad gestures works do not (this works in stain remover and reconnect the keyboard)...

I can say that my first experience of hp isn't that exciting...

    Update:

the problem is related to suspend the options and the wifi adapter. from the Panel, network card, chose the card, drivers and found an option called "wake up mode." Set it to 'none' and now it's working after sleep.

We can say "resolved", although I think that a "tablet" or something similar must always be connected without having to seek solutions 'geek '...

Now, I know what has caused this problem.  I had turned off the network adapter cable into the Device Manager to save energy!

This caused the uncore somehow to go crazy and pointing up (only after the day before). Now, I have activated the wired lan card and all is well. The laptop can be used for about 9 hours on battery power saving mode now sometimes the loading of web pages.

  • The CPU suddenly very high low host CPU

    Hi all

I was struggling with a particular host for awhile and am unable to access the root of the cause. What we have so far:

    Physics:

1 host, 2 quadcores with HT technology (total 8 cores, 16 logic due to HT), 24 GB of ram

    HP Proliant DL380 G6

    Virtual:

    1 x Windows 2008R2 DC/FS 2vcpu

    1 x Windows 2008R2 SQL 4vcpu

    1 x Windows 2008R2 Exchange 2010 1vcpu

    1 x Windows 2012R2 RDS currently 8vcpu

Recently, the old 2008R2 RDS has been replaced by the new 2012R2 RDS. This went well, nothing special, no complaints, that rent because it was quite a bit of snappyier than the last.

Then, (and I did not understand what happened yet, could have been power failure) after about a week the Esxi host froze and we had to restart. Servers began and everything was fine, until the problems started.

The 2012R2 virtual machine currently maxing out at 100% cpu usage in Windows Task Manager, between all the virtual cores. This can be achieved by something as simple as the launch of chrome and Outlook at the same time. Performance on this virtual machine is terrible. All other virtual machines are affected also, extremely high CPU usage in Windows, maxing out even with simple tasks. If I open vSphere and check the CPU usage, it's nowhere near capacity. The RDS virtual machine did not exceed 3000 mhz maximum.

What we have tried so far:

    -Reboot the host

    -Restart the virtual machine

-The power management has changed compared to the High Performance HP OS Control setting, and the powersetting to high performance in vsphere. I can see through esxtop that all hearts are at c0 permanently. (Could not verify this before because of ILO2 failing to display this when HP high performance mode is activated)

-J' tried all sorts of Vcpu assignments, until 1 vcpu/1core 8 sockets on the 2012RDS. There is no pool of resources, there is no reserves (I tried those who, unfortunately, no effect)

-Close all VM except one (to check if there is some sort of contention cpu), always the same.

I think something is gone belly up when the host rebooted, simply unable to understand why, and apart from the crazy CPU usage, the server running now stable.

    Any input is greatly appreciated.
