  I could not get my HP Office Jet J6480 All In One scanner after upgrading to 10.8.3.I followed other positions and have installed the most up to date driver (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907) , but whenever I try to scan from the HP Device Manager or photosmart studio, it says "sorry, scanner could not be initialized. (scanner not found) "I tried to make sure there is no other updates by clicking settings in the Device Manager by clicking on check the updates but it says 'server not available - service software is currently not available.   To add, both HP Device Manager or photosmart studio are part of the software and not designed for Mac OS X 10.8 10.5.

  Here are the steps to scan with your printer on mountian lion, make sure to run the software update first to ensure that the latest HP drivers are installed:

  Where the scanning software do not work as expected, that more probably caused by incompatible drivers installed on your system.

  In this case, remember to remove the software by following the HP uninstaller program (under Applications > Hewlett-Packard), rebot Mac and install the correct software by following the steps below:

  I tried to print a PDF file and it would not print.  After many attempts, I just restarted the laptop.  After that, when the laptop came upward it started printing all of the PDF files I've tried to do.  Where is the stop on this printer print function.  I just bought a day ago and I am not at all familiar with it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Okay, well, I found another thread where someone who had similar problems has been loaded to the device in 60 seconds and plug it in again. And that works perfectly for me guys thank you all the same!

  Hi, I've updated my software to 8.1.  Had to do it by hand because it does not work automatically.  You have the printer to work, but I don't see the Toolbox or the utility Panel.  Not sure what you call him, but he gave me access to the computer to the printer, Scanner and Fax.  This has been so helpful.

  It seems that this could not be included in the update for win.8?  If this is the case, it will be one in the future?  I'm really bad without him.

  To get the utilities ensure you have the latest version of the software installed.

  First, press the keys X and Windows Logo on your keyboard, and then click programs and features.

  Type HP ito the search bar, uninstall HP Officejet Pro 8600 base software of the device, if such exist, then clost programs and features dialog box.

  Then download and follow the tool below to reinstall the complete features with the printer Assistant software HP and any related utilties:

  I try to use the pages of hp support to find the latest firmware and drivers for the HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one - N911a.

  The site of hp driver tilts not everything. There is a whirly wheel that turns but never give an answer that is a little frustrating.

  In the past, it was a case of clicking on a hyperlink and choosing the download option required. Now the only software download questions the pc and the printer to give suggestions, but does not have all the answers.

  Today, my printer decided to "throw up" an ontop empty page of the Web page, I tried to print.

  I asked the printer in the right hand mouse button menu drop-down, then 'print '.

  Then the white page appears. You can check the internet on the edges.

  Print my docs and photos.

  Maybe I have changed something in the settings of this morning, but I don't remember what I did?

  I might be able to help him, but it's not really something HP is supported. I found a video that asks you to remove Softonic, as well as a link with the following instructions to help you reset Internet Explorer. I think that might help.

  My printer won't stop printing the last thing that I printed on the net.  I closed it works again and continues to print again and again nonstop.  I like google bar installed but had before anyway.

  Try to clean the queue as follows:

  1. Enter the Control Paneland enter the Printers.
  2. RightclicktheHP Officejet J5700 series icon, then click Cancel all Documents.
  3. Make sure that the printer is turned on, if it prints always - let him 1 or 2 pages more that the PC can still in treatment of the cancellation of print.

  Not sure why the solution cannot be posted here, as I see many others with this same error and the exact symptoms.

  Whatever it is, I really appreciate a solution 'private' as well.  Really, I love this printer and would rather not have buy another.

  Well, I got my answer because I could not find a topic 'resolved' in this regard. So I decided to post my findings to help the next interrogator (is that a word = the one interviewing). FYI - I am not a "geek", and while I can find my way around a computer it sometimes takes a while.  Also, I have Windows 7 on this laptop if it makes a difference.

  1. go to control panel and choose:

  2. material and audio, then

  3 devices and printers, then

  4 fax - HP Office Jet Pro 8600 (network) or whatever printer choice applies to your situation, then

  5 HP Printer Wizard, then

  6 scanner activities, then

  7. analyze a document or a picture, then

  8. Save as PDF

  9 scan

  10. save in a folder you choose

  I know this may seem simplistic to most of you, but maybe someone like me is out there, trying to find this out and this could help.

I've been able to check your user page but could not find your original post on us asking how Scan, did you remove the question? Anyway I'm glad you are now to the top and scanning of your JO 8600.

  For later use, I would like to you to take a look here: how Scan: Windows 7, here we will give all the options and shortcuts on scanning with or without the HP software as well as a few cool features, like the scan from the front panel of your 8600 and adding several pages in a single file.

  I have an IMAC desk top connected to an Office Jet Pro 8600, running MAC OS 10.6.8.  I can't scanner to scan photos to a specific size.   I use the HP utility but no matter what I try to do the witnesses only scanned image angle front right of the scanner glass.  How can I change the size of the JPEG scanner and how to scan some picture of the size that I place on the glass?

• Office Jet Pro 8100 sometimes prints random text

  I have a new Office Jet Pro 8100 and I love it!  However, sometimes when print a monthly newsletter or magazine text will become jumbled up garbage.  Text that is embedded in the images is ok, but sometimes not.  That I remember that this only happens with pdf documents.

  If I come back and re - print pages, it comes out ok.  Sometimes, several pages are ok and then the text will be jumbled up.

  What is a printer problem, or something in the text document upset the printer?

• Office jet pro 8620: should I disable the printer without cartridge installed?

  I removed the original HP ink that was defective and took it back. Now I have the inkjet (Office jet pro 8620) without cartridges installed. The printer says not to disable so that it does not get damaged but I'll be away for a week and want to turn the printer off. I will cause damage if they do?
