HP OfficeJet 4500 (g5010g-m) report shows network offline status.

After plugging the ethernet cable, the printer indicates Network Status: offline. How can I get the printer to recognize/go online?

You did everything really.  I think that the Ethernet port on the printer is dead.  You can try another cable, but I doubt it will work.

    Hello

I just got an Officejet 4500, and I am unable to connect it to my current wireless network.  I'm AT & T U-Verse so I use 2Wire equipment.  I have a Mac Book Pro, and I'm on Mac OS X operating system 10.5.8.  When I try to connect, I get an error message saying something like "Failed to connect."

In the past, I had problems connecting my Airport Express to 2Wire.  In order to make it work, I connected the router 2Wire and changed the WPA - PSK (TKIP) security settings and WPA2 - PSK (AES) to just WPA2 - PSK (AES).  My Airport Express was able to connect without any problems.

  • Network for Officejet 4500

My situation is similar to MaryGibson81, in which she refers to «...» Officejet 4500 Wireless - MacBook install with USB, but can't find it on the network... ».

My Officejet 4500 is connected to the network, but in the configuration of the process, I got a message that our laptops with Mac OS 10.6 (and 10.4) were not connected... but I checked that each was connected.

Therefore, we can print only with the USB connection to the printer.

What part of the plant do?

    Thanks, Mike

    Print Doc,

I finally got to Hewlett Packard staff (saying that I did not use a Mac).

Finally, I was connected to a Karen who helped me to understand that there are several versions of the driver that are installed with the CD supplied with the printer. One is for USB connection and another for the wireless connection.

The wireless connection is characterized by "Hello".

The manual (which was supposed to be installed from the CD but I got online) makes no mention of this fact for systems Mac operating; However, the manual mentions that there are different versions of the USB drivers and Wireless Windows operating systems.

Just a little more in detail in the installation instructions would have saved a lot of time and effort on my part and the part of Karen to explain what is not explained in the manual... and to print Doc!

    Thank you very, very much!

  • HP Officejet 4500 wireless connect installation problem

I've just set up my wireless Officejet 4500 (model G510). My network is detected by the installation CD and manual configuration wizard wireless, but not by automatic wireless Assistant. • HP OfficeJet 4500 G510-m: set a wireless adapter in the port of my HP OfficeJet 4500 G510-M Ethernet

Hello, a recent update of fiber in my house left me without an Ethernet cable to my HP OfficeJet 4500 G510-M.

Can I connect a wireless adapter to the ethernet port on the printer?  I could use the USB connection, attach it to a computer and share the printer to the network.  I thought to fix a wireless to the printer adapter would give me the most flexibility.

    Thoughts?

    Hello @tarfy58,

Welcome to the forums of HP.

I understand that you are looking for alternative methods to put your Officejet 4500 G510-M on your network.

    I would like to help.

Unfortunately the printers firmware would not know what to do with the wireless adapter.

You would need something like HP 1200w NFC/Wireless Mobile Print accessory.

The only downside is that I saw the Officejet 4500 on the list of supported printers.

Please check the specs of the device, in case I missed it.

Your method the most effective would be to use the USB connection, attach it to a computer,

and share the printer to the network.

  • OfficeJet 4500 Wireless - MacBook it installs with USB, but can't find it on the network

Help! I just bought a new MacBook (OS 10.6.4) and try to use the HP Officejet 4500 Wireless with it. I bought the printer a month or two ago and it has been implemented on my wireless (a Netgear - WNR2000 router) and works very well with my old iBook G4 and the Windows PC at home. My new MacBook is connected to the fine of the Internet, but when I went to use the printer, it seems to install ok, make settings IP etc. of the printer on the network, but it's not far past. He says that the printer is "unreachable" or some such nonsense and refuses to see it on the network. I tried both with and without the CD installation, and after you have uninstalled the software HP to uninstall and reinstall in the system of preferences--> Print and Fax settings. But he only sees the printer if I connect it with USB, which goes against the reason for which I bought it.

I ran the software update and it has found a new version of the software to download to the printer when connected via USB. But there seems to be no way to convince him to find the printer on our network wireless

    Any ideas?

Wow - I solved the problem. How ridiculous of a solution is that?

I saw a mention on another Board need to have a SSID for the network of less than 6 characters/letters to get the Mac to work with some other printer/router configuration.

So I tried here - since I had a network SSID of 7 letters.

    (1) I went in my screen to config the router and changed my SSID to one that was only four letters. I also took the static IP address for the printer, I had just set up (so for those of you watching at home, ignore my comment on this tactic, it was a herring!) leave the settings as they were before I ate with it.

    (2) I then restarted the router, the computer and the printer.

    (3) I first put in place the new SSID on Mac (change the SSID of the router to the old password only left, so it was just a matter of returning the password on Mac, when it entered into the 'new' network). I checked this by seeing in screen config the router if the Netgear now he showed in his list of connected devices (it wasn't before, and I was suspicious that he was some other weird problem, if the Mac has used the Internet very well). He did it!

    (4) then I used the front panel of the printer to go into Options--> Menu Wireless--> Setup Wizard and configure the printer again on the new name of the network SSID. Then I went to the Options--> Print the report--> Config network. It would therefore be to print a page giving the State of the connection confirming that it was the network.

    (5) then I went back for the Mac and use it again the screen of the router config I confirmed that now the printer was also showing up on top of the screen of connected devices (it wasn't before, now she and Mac have been listed!). Then I opened system--> print and fax preferences and tried to add the printer again. This time he finds immediately on the network (using the so-called Hello?), and since I already had the software update (using the steps suggested above) that she already had the correct printer software to use. Wireless printing fine now... After all this noise.

So, apparently, PrintDoc, you need to add a small little by this spiel you gave me above - to install a printer wireless on a new Mac with a working wireless network (at least one with a Netgear WNR2000 router), the SSID of the network should really be only a couple of long letters (4A worked in this case but not 7). Why, I have no idea. Ridiculous, like I said.

    Thanks anyway.

I hope this discovery helps someone else too!

  • OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z: HP Office Jet 4500 G510n-z fails to print over wireless network

    Hello

Earlier my XP (Dell D620) machine stopped printing wireless with my officejet 4500 G510n-z. My Windows 7 D630 prints wirlessly without any problem. I have download the current HP drivers without result. I looked at other positions, but none of the viable solutions. The 4500 G510n-z appears as a printer, but all print jobs end with an error. I can't print a test page, Notepad, etc. All jobs appear on the queue, but they all error. It seems to be a specific problem of the XP. I have XP pro version 2002 Service pack 3. My network is just a Verizon Fios wireless router. In windows 7, I can see the actual address of the Hp wireless connection when the printer is added. Under Xp I do not see the address wireless when I try to add the printer. Now, it appears in the list of printers on XP but 7 seems to see the actual address wireless and allows me to select it to add the printer. I plugged the XP machine to the printer and it would work for a while then stops working. Don't know what triggers the loss of connection. How can I specify the connection 4500 G510n-z XP? I tried to add the IP address I see on my 7 machine but XP wants to a path of the server which is //server etc., UNC path.

I went in the properties of the printer and changed the address to match the 7 IP 192.168.1.3 192.168.1.9 Windows 7 XP, but not go again.

    Thank you

    Hello @adb1779,

Thanks for getting back to me on this subject. Because the ping tests on both computers is successful when communicating with your wireless printer, it turns out that you do not encounter a network issue at all. On the contrary, there is either a program of 'blocking' of printing wirelessly on your XP computer or computer XP is not "like" the fact that you have changed the IP address of 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.9. It would seem that your XP computer is a former connection with the printer. To resolve this problem, please follow the steps below.

    Step 1: Launch MSCONFIG:

I'll have you temporarily disable all programs background on your XP system to see if there is a program that runs in the background on your Windows XP computer that would block communication with your printer.

    1. Click on the Start menu
    2. Click run. In the Run dialog box, type msconfig and click OK
    3. When the System Configuration window opens select 'Selective Startup ' and uncheck load startup items
    4. Click the Services tab, check the box at the bottom to hide all Microsoft Services
    5. Select disable all
    6. Select apply and OK
    7. Computer restart when prompted

When your Windows XP computer turns please try printing. If the printer works correctly now it would mean that a program was blocking the communication. If the problem persists, proceed to the steps below.

    Step 2: Uninstall the drivers:

I understand that you have already done this in the past without result. However, if your product is identified as on 192.168.1.3 she is not installed correctly, or an earlier version of the printer with an old IP isn't be properly removed from the system. It is crucial for the repairs we have a clean slate to work with. Please follow the steps below.

    1. Click on the Start menu
    2. Click on programs
    3. Select the HP folder
    4. Select your HP Officejet
    5. Select Uninstall
    6. Please follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstallation.

Once the uninstall is complete, proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Clear the server properties:

Your printer driver can also be installed under the print server properties. I'll have to make sure your driver has been completely removed from both print server.

    1. click on the Start menu

    2. Select Printers. You may need to go to the Control Panel then Printers and faxes.

    3. in printers and faxes click on file and select Server properties

    4. in the print server properties window, select the drivers tab

    5. If your HP Officejet is listed, click on it and select Remove downstairs.

    6. a new window opens, click on Remove only the driver. Click OK.

    7. Select apply and then OK in the print server properties window.

    8. close printers and fax machines.

Step 4: Delete the temporary files:

    1. Click on the start menu
    2. Select run. In the Run dialog box, type %temp% , and then click OK
    3. Click on the Start menu
    4. When the Temp folder opens, Select the first item in the Temp folder and tap the SHIFT key on your keyboard.  Now Shift while, scroll down a few lines and click on another element in the file. What is between these two elements will highlight.
    5. Select the "delete" button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains the temporary internet files. None of the actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting Temp files. If a Temp file be used yet that you will automatically get the pop-up that you can't delete this item. The "deletion" process is cancelled. On Windows Vista, 7 and 8 of Windows you can just "jump" from the items which will not delete. Unfortunately, on Windows XP, it is not so easy. Take note of this point is unable to delete. Then, ignore this element. Click on the next element in the list, hold the SHIFT key and click another item in the list to remove another piece of elements. You will continue this tedious step until all items in the Temp folder which will remove are deleted.
    6. Close the Temp folder when it is empty
    7. Right-click the recycling bin on your desktop and select empty recycling bin

    Step 5: Reinstall the drivers:

    1. Please click here to download the drivers for your printer
    2. Once the site opens click on the download button at the top left
    3. Once the download is complete, follow the instructions on the screen to reinstall your printer wireless
    4. Once your printer is properly reinstalled please try again to print wireless.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

    Hello

Try resetting the printing system and check to see if that can help you:

Right click (or Ctrl + click) your product with the Printers list in the left panel and then click on reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type your user name and password.

I had problems with my PC wireless - used to connect via USB printing.

Can someone tell me what to do to keep the newtork connectiom.

    Hello @haconnor,

I understand that you are experiencing intermittent wireless connectivity problems when you try to print from your HP Officejet 4500 Wireless all-in-One printer wireless computers. I would like to help you today with the resolution of this conflict of connectivity.

Now, just so you know, when you have a wireless printer wireless two works card or it doesn't. There is no grey area. When your printer connects to your network, even if the communication is intermittent, it proves that the network card works in your printer. The router is what allows your printer to the network access. Occasionally, routers will judge your printer as a tyring 'threat' to access the network communication and 'block '. This does not mean that something is 'wrong' with your router. It simply means that the router is too good job. At this point, I believe that the problem you are experiencing is a conflict of router. Can I please you follow the steps below to resolve this issue.

    Step 1: Powercycle the network:

    1. Start by unplugging the power cable to your router
    2. Once your router is unplugged, turn your printer off
    3. Then, shut down your computer
    4. After 30 seconds to 1 minute, reconnect your router back in
    5. Then, turn on your printer
    6. Turn on the computer

After a few minutes the internet connection will be back. Please check on your computer and verify that you can access the websites before you continue.

    Step 2: Check of connectivity:

    1. On the front panel of your printer, select the button Setup (key)
    2. Arrow to Print the State of law, and then select OK
    3. To Config network right arrow and click OK
    4. A report will now print. Locate the IP address on this report.
    5. On your computer, open the internet browser. In the address bar type in the printer IP address and the research on this site. Leave aside the www.
    • Opens a Web site for your printer: This indicates that your computer and your printer are 'talk' on the wireless network. You should have no problem printing wireless now to your printer.
    • If a Web site for your printer does not open: The printer is still blocked to communicate on your wireless network. Please follow the steps below.

Step 3: Restore the default settings:

    1. Click on the Setup button on the front panel of your printer
    2. Select the Wireless Menu
    3. Arrow on the right to reset wireless
    4. Select OK to restore wireless

Once the reset is complete, proceed to the next step.

    Step 4: Reconfigure wireless:

    1. Click the printer Setup button
    2. Arrow Wireless Menu on the right and click OK
    3. Select OK in the Wireless Setup Wizard
    4. When you are prompted, select your network name SSID
    5. Enter your password (key) wireless. It is case sensitive.

Once the wireless connection has be etre configure configured successfully, please try again to print wireless.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Should the matter resolved that temporarily until the printer does not again on the network, there may be additional parameters that need to be changed on your router. I look forward to hear from you!

I've had this printer for several months now, I have had no problem connecting to my wireless network and connect computers, telephones and other equipment to this.

A few days earlier, when starting the printer display flashes with the useless error message, error in the printer, turn the printer off and back on.

I have power cycled as requested and received the same message, over the power of the cycle he mentions turning off the power button and no DISCONNECT of the sector. Until then I had never disconnected from the sector. After that I have several attempts to power cycle the printer is off and removed the sector, has waited half an hour and powered on again once.

Still stuck in a loop. He also briefly flashed a blue screen with the error B81431CB. So brief that it is almost useless. I had the boot sequence video and pause playback to read error!

After some research, I decided that she was experiencing problems connecting to the WIFI network. So, I turned the wifi on the router and the printer network started as usual. Internal menus are now available and I can print status and so forth, so at this point I can exclude defects of ink or mechanism.

I went in on the printer network settings and reset the network. I'll also through the printer to factory default settings. I have reactivated the WIFI network to the router then went to install the printer again. Digitized for wifi networks and found mine. Entered the password for wifi and the printer could not connect. Everything is good, correct ssid, signal. Report shows wifi password is incorrect.

I have try several times to connect wifi password is certainly correct, but the printer refuses to recognize the correct password. I tried a different router, the same result. Says incorrect password. Also I tried WPS and a PIN, said still fails to connect.

At this point, I have disabled all security on the wifi network. Bingo, printer connects to the network, but starts with the loop of error mentioned at the start of the tour and turn it back on. This above has been tried several times, the factory reset, everything ok, turn off the wifi security, the printer connects and goes in a loop.

So, at this point wifi is confirmed to be defective. I decide to directly connect a LAN cable. Once the LAN cable is connected, a few seconds later the printer detects the network and goes back into its loop error. It will not just connect to a network via wifi or LAN. He previously worked on the network, and nothing has changed on the network, not new parameters or no new devices.

I connected a laptop to the printer via USB and that seems to work ok, but a USB connection is not ideal and defeated the convenience of a wireless printer. I also tried to reflash the printer in case there is a corruption of the firmware, but the utility detects that the latest firmware is installed and that it is not engaged.

    Now...?

OK I managed to make it work and I will try to explain the steps of my best.

As mentioned previously, I tried another router, I tried the wiring, and I tried to reset the router and the printer. Nothing seemed to work.

Out of curiosity I just put my phone in a WIFI AP. Tried connecting the printer and it worked. The printer connected to the WIFI phones.

So I know that the printer works on at least one access point.

Thus, in the settings of the router and firewall. The only thing enabled in the firewall have been

    IPv4 firewall protection

  • OfficeJet 4500 G510a: problems to print to HP Officejet 4500 G510a

Hello.  I have a printer HP Officejet 4500 G510a, connected to a pc Windows 7 Dell.  I serve these together for a long time, including yesterday.  Today, it was as if the pc could not 'see' the printer.  I hit the print command, and nothing would happen.  No print jobs showed in the queue.  I re-installed the printer, re-downloaded and installed the driver printer and checked the cable.  After all this, I get a different message.  After hitting the print command, the work shows in the print queue, but with an error (no error code).  Nothing prints.  I had visitors in the home for the holidays, which could use the pc in the course of the past 24 hours, even though I doubt any of them would have done something fundamental for the parameters.  Advice would be appreciated; Thank you.

Hello! Welcome to the @RedRaven forums

I read your post on how you can no longer print to your Officejet 4500 G510a. I have some ideas for you, that might help!

First make a copy of the printer, it is a hardware test to see if the printer is correct. If it copies, it's a great sign. Please let me know the results.

On the computer, run the print and Scan of the doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for all conflicts that may be causing the problem. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there is a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results. Please let me know these results as well and even include a page if possible.

You mentioned that you have checked the cable. You connect the printer with a USB or Ethernet cable?

I hope to hear from you, have a nice day
