HP OfficeJet 4500 G510h: HP OfficeJet 4500 G510h - analysis stalls...

Hi HP of veterans.

I have tried to solve the problems of the last few days and turn on the forum because I'm out of ideas.

Background

My machine is a HP OfficeJet 4500 G510h.  It is connected via USB.  My PC is running 10 (64-bit) Windows.  I just unpacked & set 3 days ago.

Working

Printing works fine.  The scanner settings & etc. works very well.  I can even send parameters to the front without problem.  I have not configured Telec.

Problem

Scanning stops at half way through.   I can see a part of the document in the preview.  The progress bar just hangs.

Unit, the scanner bar will move physically through the entire lifecycle.  Front of the device even wonder to remove the document as long as the analysis is performed.

However, on the PC, the preview freezes.  Without preview, the progress bar block (same problem).

I tried troubleshooting

1. I tried with a sheet of white paper at 75 dpi Virgin & it works once.  The image is sent to the correct folder.  On the second time with a white sheet or a normal document, it freezes.  It's almost as if the scanner ran scan RAM or something.

2. I checked the diagnostics on my PC.  There is more than ample cycles of CPU and RAM and space hard disk etc.

3. I also tried to reinstall the driver and the solution Center.  The same problem.

4. I tried the printer driver & scan HP.  It hangs on "Driver Check".  After reboot, "Driver Check" succeeds.  Nothing else fails until the final stage, when she suggests a "Scan Test".  Then it crashes again.

Please notify.

Yiren.

Hi Rainbow7000,

Thanks again.

I was about to try your solutions, but had a brainwave struck me.

My Solution (which worked)

I changed a direct USB connection for connecting to the local network.  It worked.

Analysis

I did it because I thought it might be a problem of data transmission.  My PC is a bit far from my printer, so printer cable is not connected directly to the PC.  Instead, it is plugged into another USB cable, which is then plugged into the PC.  The second cable may have degraded the signal (although it shouldn't, but we can't really know for sure).

Anyway, I don't want to try the USB direct connection again someday, so I'm saves a copy of your solution.  Not at the moment however.  I'm just glad it all works.

Yiren.

  • OfficeJet J4680 no analysis

This software Officejet J4680 done OK on my Dell with WIN XP. I moved to WIN 7 on a 4540 s HP's ProBook, the HP printing software installed (used the USB caple) and now have problems with scanning.

Solution Center HP tells me that the printer is disconnected. I can print, but not an analysis. I enter the IP address in my browser and I can connect to the printer.

I loaded and run the Scan doctor. (He said having a fix). I use the product V.14

I reinstalled the software and restarted several times.

I also get the error message: HP Scan error 8 [(1.0,-2147221502)]

I can scan manually, which, of course, do not save the file copy. I think I read most of the pertinant to the similar complaints on this forum.

If HP has a solution, please email me and tell me he replied on this Forum

The printer installation wizard should have given you the option to install the printer on the network. If you click on start > all programs > HP > HP Officejet J4680 > add a device.

This should allow you to select USB or network and follow the steps to add the printer using the HP software.

  • OfficeJet HO 5740: analysis via "Scan" printer ikon does not find the computer

When I try to scan to a file using the ikon of screen touch printers and after selecting the computer I want to test results from the screen "Select computer", "access to the computer" in the following error message:

"The selected computer is not available. Make sure that:

    > Computer is on. [it is]

    > The computer and the printer are connected with a USB cable properly [they are].

    > The recommended HP Print software is installed and configured on the computer [I used the installation disk that came with the printer].

Search the computer for more information".

I get this error message select regardless of format (PDF, JPEG, Email, etc.)

The other functions of the touch screen seems to work normally.

With the help of HP Printer Wizard installed on the PC to ask the printer to scan works without problem, but I find much easier if I could use the printer display.

Thanks for your reply. Although your proposed solution has not worked as expected with my model - Officejet 5740. The option "Manage the Scan to Computer" is still not available in the HP printer Assistant. However, I thought I'd give the on-screen touch printer another chance: and it works now. So, thanks for the advice.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 analysis stops at Midway

With the help of a relatively new in Officejet Pro 8600 on my iMac with OSX Mavericks.

Printer is set up wireless, printing works fine. Scanning did too, until yesterday.

When I scan a document through HP application scanning, or Mac "scanner" that appears in the Printers window, the printer is now the noise, the status bar starts and then stops. It does not move. I left it like that for hours, just to see what happens, and when I come back the job has been cancelled.

Wireless connection is obviously good, as I can print and even when scanning printer responds immediately. It just isn't really complete - or even apparently start - the scan.

Any idea of what is the cause? It seems that this could be a faulty machine.

    Thank you!

    Hello vertov,.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I'm sorry to hear you're having this problem with your 8600 scanning. A quick way to determine if your printer is having a hardware problem, make a copy.

If the printer can make a copy, it is not a problem with the hardware with the scanner from scanning. If a scan failure is present on the printer, try looking in the steps detailed here: A 'Scanner failure' Message is displayed on the printer control panel.

Also it is better to have the printer connected to a wall outlet directly for power, this will help you understand why: issues when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

I'll come back and get your answer.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: Analysis of problems of printer to the computer using windows 10

I just upgraded to Windows 10 and now I'm not able to scan from the printer to the computer. I can scan the other way IE. computer to scan but is not as convenient. I had no question before the upgrade. The error message I get is

"The analysis could not be performed because of one or more of the following problems:

-L' scanning on the computer application is currently in use.

-Application OCR is not installed on the computer.

First of all it is connected with a usb cable, so no logical reason why the connection is lost.

Secondly it is not used because I am trying to use it

Third, it has baffled me because there is no reason why the OCR application is now gone, he worked before windows 10.

and finally there is no detail on the computer screen, why it tells me that I do not understand.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello again,

Looks like the next option is to uninstall & reinstall the printer software. This will ensure that the scan to computer option is restored.

  • HP Officejet 5740: HP Officejet 5740 impression & analysis of the issues

    Hello

I just bought a HP 5740 and have implemented to print wireless from my PC, iphone 6, notebk.

I have the following questions & any advice would be much appreciated:-

    1. is there a limit on the number of wireless devices, I can connect to the printer?

    2. when using the Automatic Document Feeder for scanning/printing of documents, scanned images or impressions appear slightly

    biased.

Is this likely to be a problem with the ADF?

I thought possible is to refine the ADF paper tabs more far but I worry about the documents in

could be stuck causing a jam.

    Thank you.

    Hi @Chrissy_61,

Welcome to the HP Support forum.

I understand that you have purchased a HP Officejet 5740 e-all-in-one printer you have connected wireless to a 10 PC Windows, but also an iPhone 6 and a notebook. I will be happy to answer your questions about the limits to the number of wireless devices that can be connected and the output of the ADF is slightly biased.

There is no real limit to the number of wireless devices can connect to the printer. Devices are actually connecting to the printer on the wireless network of your router, so that it really on the number of the router wireless connections can handle. I've seen some cheaper model routers handle 5 wireless comfortably, but once again, it is more on the router and what are wireless devices on the network the router wireless.

For the unbalanced output when using the issue of the ADF, you definitely want that paper is loaded properly, and the paper guides are to the edge of the sides of the paper without being so tight that it is originally the paper not to remain flat in the ADF. If you have problems tilt when using the ADF, here is a document that can help - the ADF (ADF) documents do not choose paper. It is a generic document that covers all the printers with ADFs.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

In fact, if it helps you to find a solution, please click on the 'accept as Solution' and the 'thumbs up' buttons down below in this message.

    Thank you!

  • A premium of 6700 Officejet do an analysis of the inverted image?

    Hello

I have a few documents where the background is black and the writing is white.  I want to scan and to reverse the image so that the background is white and the writing is black.  Is this possible with a premium of 6700 Officejet and the accompanying software?  Do I need a scanner dedicated with the best software to do?  Thanks in advance for your help.

    Gary

    Hello garyg45,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you want to perform a "reverse image analysis" with the Officejet 6700 Premium. I will do my best to help you! What is your operating system on your computer? Windows or Mac?

How is the printer connected? USB or wireless?

The HP software does not come with this feature, but there are of the workarounds you can try. If you have a Windows computer, you can use Windows Paint, which has an option to "Invert color" and "invert selection". You can scan a document into paint using the "from camera or Scanner" or you can copy and paste an image. I'll give you a document from HP on this step here. Click on 'How to Scan without HP software. Then follow this document How to invert the colors in painting.

Please post your results, I'll be looking forward to hear from you.

My Officejet 6500 E710N-Z began to lock on. The printer screen goes black and the power button slowly fades and brightens. Documents align in Quebec, but nothing happens. When I unplug the cable to powere and then re - connect, printing works fine... for a while. Any suggestions?

I moved the power plug printer to a power strip with fewer devices. I also disabled the power saving on the printer. Seems to work fine now. Thanks for the help.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8600: Analysis of the function of the computer no longer works. Get the error "User name or password Incorrect"

It was a sudden break in the analysis of network to the e-mail function.  I have rebooted my router, unplugged my printer, etc, and nothing solves the problem.  I don't know where he wants me to change a password that I often had to change my password on the computer and it has never caused a problem with the scanner before.  I tried all the things on this very topic messages that were a few years ago. The wireless printer works etc all work fine.  It's only the scan to my email is not working.  Help, please.

Hello. No, it wasn't the problem, but I was able finally someone at HP support who managed to solve it. It's a configuration problem after an automatic update. Thanks for trying to help though!

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 576dw: analysis of the ADF

    Hello

I cannot scan from the charger when using the built in touch screen. When I place a document in the ADF and use the software HP from my computer, the paper feeds through the ADF and scanning correctly. However, when I select 'Scan' of the construction in the touch controls on the printer, it seems to sweep the glass tray rather than pulling the document using the ADF.

The printer is less than a month and so far have not all printing problems or the copy using the ADF. However, having to go through the printer to place the document in the ADF, and then walk to the computer to start the scan, and then walk to the printer to get the document is rather inconvenient.

I tried to play with the settings of the printer using the touch controls, but cannot find any options for the selection of the source during analysis.

I am using 8.1 Windows 64 bit and I am connected to the printer via the wireless network.

    Thank you

    Jake

    Hi @JJarosz

Scan configuration can be controlled form the HP software to scan.

Open the printer on your computer software and select scan a Document or Photo.

Set the source to scan into the automatic document feeder and save the shortcut, and then close the dialog box and try to scan from the printer by using this shortcut.

Please let me know the results,

    Hi Pattles,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I'm sorry to hear that your HP Officejet 7310 will analyse any more, but I'm happy to help you!

To get help, I'll have to know the following:

    1. If you use Windows or operating system Mac and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
    2. If the printer is connected, USB, Ethernet, or wireless.
    3. If the printer is capable of making copies of itself.
    4. If the power cable is connected to a surge protector, or directly to a wall outlet. Questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power. This is true for printers and ink jet.

  • HP Officejet Pro 6830: Scanning with Officejet Pro Wireless 6830

HP Officejet Pro 6830 analysis wireless? I tried using the wireless and ethernet without success. When I look at the system of preference/printer & Scanner / Officejet pro 6830 I see not "Scan" type in the printer option although it seems if connect you via USB.

    Hi @kskhater,

It may be best to contact Apple to make sure everything is configured correctly and the necessary ports are open.

You can create a second admin account, is not on the privileges, it is to determine if there is a problem with your user profile. The question might have something to do with your printing system. I know that the issue is scanning, but the printing system, it's what the driver, and since we already have reset the printing system, Apple may need to reload, or the operating system. Create a second user account will help determine whether the problem is related to your account.

As you can see, at this point, we are at a stage of diagnosis, troubleshooting is the process of elimination. To identify the cause in order to solve the problem.
