HP OfficeJet J5780 all-in-One not Scan under Vista 64-bit

I have brand new HP Pavillion Dual Core processor and 6 concerts computer memory, so I know that my computer is OK.

I have a computer set up to Dual Boot Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Bit & Ubuntu Linux.

Under Linux, the printer will print & scan (both)

In Vista, it prints only

My wife has Windows XP on his computer & it prints & Scans

We come to the rear USB cable & before printing on computers.

I have downloaded the latest drivers & critical updates & installed Vista without result.

It will not even scan directly from the printer.

On the printer, it says:

No scan option, don't refer to the device Documentation. ???

I know the printer is about 2 to 3 years, but it still works except scan!

Please help, thanks in advance

It is fixed after reading the HP Help Pages

To scan in Vista... You MUST do it in paint or Windows Photo Gallery.

Hope this helps someone

    Hello!

I have a HP Officejet J5780 all-in-one and had no problems at all since I bought it 15 or 16 months ago.

However, a strange thing is happening out of the blue - today, everything that I try to print print back - very odd!

Clues as to what this may be? Maybe a virus?

I checked all the print settings and they are as they are normally.

Any help you can lend is appreciated, I should use the printer this weekend!

    Thank you!

This problem may occur if you installed Windows XP SP3 recently. If you go to one of the tabs under printing options, you will have an option named "Mirror Printing" or "Mirror Image". try turning it off. I think it's under the "Advanced" tab

  • Unable to print - Officejet J5780 all-in-One, connected to the laptop USB

I bought a HP all-in-one Officejet J5780 in 2008 and all this year I started having problems printing. I am a student online so I need to print assignment or documents related to the class of my laptop, or make other personal business which involves an impression. I connect the printer to my laptop with a USB port. I have Windows 7 Edition home premium on my laptop. When I bought the printer, I used it with another laptop with Vista. Last year, I bought a laptop.

I'm going to open a document, click on print, a box will appear as if sending information to the printer, and then nothing happens. The file is located in the print queue whose status is empty. Sometimes stop the printer and re - start, it would start printing once reconnected. But no more. Sometimes if I start my printer first, let it sit, start my laptop, let it sit a bit, connect the USB cable, let them rest a bit, then try to print it will work. But it is rare now. Sometimes if I am performing a repair online it suddenly started working. But it becomes harder and harder.

I guess I need to new drivers or something, but I don't know which ones to download from HP. This new laptop does not recognize the printer software disk came with.

I try to start printing HP and doctor Scan and it detects my printer at the start, but at the next step, it does not, said that it can not be connected. I can print an alignment page or test page.

Or is it time for a new printer?

I know that is not the USB port on the laptop, because I used the plug with other types of USB cables and everything works. I was wondering if the printer USB cable is bad or corroded the output on the printer itself. I bought a new USB cable and tried. The printer has been detected, updated drivers, and until now it works fine.

  • HP Officejet J5780 all-in-one will print test and diagnostics pages but nothing else

I tried to install my Officejet J5780 on a Windows 7 machine and install CD does not work for Windows 7.  Downloaded the software and drivers from the HP site and since then the printer prints a test page or a page of diagnosis etc but nothing of MS Office or Notepad.

    Hello

I see that you have a problem with the printer. I would say that runs the print and scan the doctor.

  • Photosmart C6188 all-in-one not scan on the mac with OS 10.6.1

I just bought a new mac with snow leopard and incapable of having the C6188 HP photosmart all in one analysis images on mac.

I made the mistake of installing the original software which is come with the printer, and then discovered that it does not get. So I uninstalled the software and performed an update to the Apple software.

I tried according to your publications/announcement about the leopard snow, preferably using system preferences and applications of image capture.  I can print all right, but unable to scan images on mac.  I get the error message is ' year error occurred while communicating with the scanner.  It's the same message that I get from all three applications (preferably, preferences system and capture image).

A big thank you to all who can help...

I'm glad it's working for you now.  Multiple page in one file is a driver problem.  Sorry, you will need to wait for an update.

In the meantime, it is very easy to combine pages in a file (pdf) with preview.

  • two black lines on HP Officejet J5780 all-in-one

When you print from the ADF of my officejet J5780, two parallel straight lines appear on the right side of the top of the page toward the bottom of the page.  Anyone know of a solution? My research, such as it was, came the voids.

Since you get only that when you use the ADF and not when using the scanner glass, it tells me it is specific to the region I was explaining.  Please take a closer look, it is possible that something is under glass in this small strip.  Even a small speck of dust, in the analysis of this region will create an output of a line to the bottom of the full page.  If you hold the printed page with the line where the ADF would feed through the scanner glass, you should see where is the problem area.

    Hi again,

If it doesn't appear on your printer and not on your PC, right?  My bad... I'm in the driver settings.  Try holding down the symbol # and 3 at the same time on your printer.  This should reset the printer.  If this does not work then press the symbol # and 6 at the same time.

    Or

    To restore the default settings

    1.

    Press Setup.

    2.

Press to select Tools, and then press OK.

    3.

Press to select Restore Factory Defaults, then press OK.

    The default settings are restored.

  • Duplex not recognized under Vista 64-bit printing accessory

I recently had to replace my old computer with an HP Pavilion a6700f running Windows Vista Home Premium 64 - bit SP1.

I got my 7410 HP all-in-One printer connected and operating, the latest software HP installed and checked for updated drivers, firmware or Windows updates to date. Everything is up-to-date.

However, my two-sided printing accessory is not recognized. I tried to do an update of the parameters, but the accessory does not appear in the drop-down menus.

I learned by HP Technical Support that it is a Windows problem, but I can't quite believe that even Microsoft would come out an operating system does not recognize the material of the major manufacturer.

Is that what everyone knows about this problem? Is this really a Windows glitch?  If so, is there a workaround solution that will allow me to do automatic duplex printing?

Bob sent me an email with the patch, but I'm not sure I'm reading it correctly because the patch does not work. I got an error message that the printer driver has not been installed and he gave me a window to select options. I think it installs just the drivers of Bob wants to replace.

In the e-mail to Bob, he said save the attachment as % temp%\hpo7x00t.gpd.  I don't know where to put this, and this is perhaps why the patch has not yet worked.

Can someone tell me with certainty where to save the file?

You just need to save the DPG file to a temporary location.  Folder is the location for temporary files of the system, it refers to a directory.  If for some reason it doesn't, you can do the following to the administrative command prompt:

    mkdir c:\temp

    [save the gpd c:\temp\hpo7x00t.gpd]

    then in the copy command:

    copy c:\temp\hpo7x00t.gpd c:

Although authentic HP ink cartridges are expensive, even they sometimes are not recognized correctly.  If cleanup operations proposed by HP do not help, you may need to try a new cartridge.  If you're lucky, this will work AND you bought one a place that will exchange (e.g., Costco).

  • My PSC 1210 all-in-one not Scan after the recent software update

There is no if long software update asked me to install the last change of HP software. Which is curious, because when I look in the download, the last of them for OS10.6 section, which I run, was released in 2009.

Before, I scanned successfully by using the Print & Fax system preferences.

When I did it today, thogh, after choosing the option to Scan and then open Scanner, I would get the message that there is 'no scanner not selected', although HP psc 1200 series at the top of the screen. I tried scanning several times and got the same result every time.

What can I do to get this working again?

Hmmm, that seems strange that you will receive an update for a PSC 1210, because I do not think that there has been updates this software for years.

Have you tried to uninstall the driver and then reinstall?

You can find the instructions to uninstall here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02259020

And then re-install the driver by clicking on: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c02259020&lc=en&os=219&product=90764&sw_lang=

Click on drivers & downloads and select your operating system (Mac OS X) from the drop-down list and click Next.  Expand the sign next to the driver - product Installation software (8) + and then download/install the driver for 10.6.

  • V313 all-in-one not scan after upgrade to Yosemite on Mac

I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to Yosemite and just discovered that I can't scan with my dell V313 more.

It was working fine before the upgrade, so I think it's because the driver is no longer compatible with the new OS.

Any new driver is available? I searched high and low for any information on this but have failed so far.

    Help, please!

    Sahki,

The printer is a Lexmark S300 S400 Series for a Mac computer, you can install it.

If you have the disc from the printer, do not know how to do this on a Mac, but the program OCR, necessary to scan, Fax is on the disk of the printer. Instructions for a Windows Installer the OCR program operating system are...

In the digitization, if you have the disc that came with the printer, and then insert the floppy disk to the printer and keep it from running. Go to my computer and double-click it. Locate the drive that contains the disk Dell inside. Right-click on it, left click Explore. Find the folder of the OCR. In the OCR folder, there is a folder of Abbyy. Right click on setup.exe, which is located in the folder Abbyy and left, click Run as administrator. This will install the OCR program.
