HP Officejet Pro 1150c power error "function select".

Hello

I just bought a c 1150 (second hand), when I turn it on the green button lights up, the display shows the initialization, then the green light turns off and the screen comes with "select the function" none of the buttons does not work and the printer does not respond to something, it seems not be commissioning at all (can't hear mobile cartridges etc that you would normally expect). "

Can anyone help?

Thank you

Ellie

Problems like this are normally caused by the lack or power.  When this happens, all you can do is try to reset the printer.  The document following the link will guide you through what you can do to try to get the printer to answer.  If this does not work, you will need to replace the printer.

The Officejet Pro 1150c is a fairly old printer, it was originally released with WIndows 3.1 and Windows 95 drivers a decade or more.  You can download the manual here.  The printer needs an IEEE-1284 parallel connection.  The best cases if your laptop has a parallel connection are to use a parallel cable IEEE.  If your laptop is not a parallel port things are more problematic.  Depending on your operating system, you can get a USB cable IEEE-1284 converter and make it work.  I have not seen a lot of reports of success using cables lconverter USB-parallel with Vista, XP seems a little more usable in this regard.

If you are using Vista, you will probably be able to print using the Deskjet 500 c drivers into Vista.

  • More OfficeJet Pro 8600 - Apps error - "connection error".

    Hello

Newbie question maybe, but it made me a bit puzzled.

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus on a wired connection to my router/ADSL modem from the sky, using a static IP address.

When I go in Apps he pulls the bottom of the list of Apps installed OK, but when I select one from the printer control panel it trying to connect, and then generates an error.  I don't see a place that I have to configure anythign.

I have a woerkign hp ePrint Center account, ePrint works (finally!) when I send docs to my address email eprint, and also via Google Cloud Print and Apple AirPrint.  While it's not ruining my life, I would like all the functions of the printer to work :-)

I can print to a network folder, as long as it is on a PC, even if my SIN, it will not print to for some reason, but I guess that's another question :-)

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi MF668.

Try to define an alternative DNS and check if that can help you:

    1. Tap the wireless on the top of the screen of the printer and look for the IP address is.
    2. Access to the IP of the printer through the web browser on your PC.
    3. Click the network tab.
    4. Under Wired click IPv4.
    5. Under the DNS Configuration, select manual.
    6. Set the address preferably as 8.8.8.8
    7. Set the e-mail address alternative as 8.8.4.4
    8. Click on apply to confirm the change.

Now, turn the printer off and turn it back on and check for the difference.

  • OfficeJet Pro K5400 - loss of functionality in Windows 7

Since the upgrade of our PC from XP to Windows 7, we have experienced a huge loss of functionality when printing our of Officejet Pro K5400 (cannot print to the edge of the pages, can not specify substrates, change the resolution, etc.)

Our HP reseller from whom we bought the printer actually just washed their hands of this issue "that's the way things are, HP are better than many other manufacturers to provide drivers for the existing hardware, update of the operating system".

It seems ridiculous to me that HP will feel it is reasonable to not continue to support relatively recent kit parts that work well - just another example of built in obsolescence? Is there a way we can restore the missing feature? How about you, Vista driver - is that have relevance?

Come on HP - standing behind your product and we restore the characteristics that we need to make this useful printer once again!

This printer driver must be included in Windows 7 already.

  • OfficeJet pro 8500 a: error Surface pro 3 when printing on HP printers

I bought a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 to replace my laptop. I loved except that I can't have the network printer as my old laptop. Because I'm stuck using your printer app, it has been a disaster. I get the error messages. The application can not find my documents, and then I get the error messages. Documents are partially printed, or I get a message that the printer is offline. Y at - it a patch or fix for this problem?

    Hello @manon1,

Welcome to the forums of HP.

I understand that you are experiencing problems printing from your Surface Pro 3.

    I would like to help.

What I learned from the series Surface Pro, is that they are running a full version of the windows operating system.

This means that unlike the RT versions, you can install the software.

You should be able to install the same software that you can install on a laptop or desktop computer.

This would make it so that you don't need to use the application.

  • OfficeJet Pro All In One 6835: Officejet Pro 6835 printhead error

My Pro Officjet 6835 all in one shows a printhead error.  I installed new ink cartridges about 2 weeks ago, and it printed fine since then.  I tried troubleshooting.  When I try to "Clean printhead" computer, it simply says "printer is busy".  When I try to clean the printer configuration menu, it shows that it is cleaning for about a half second and then returns to the maintenance printer screen.  On one attempt, it seems to work, but after 3 hours, no there was no change or action.  I have reset the printer (unplug the unit for more than 60 seconds - of the printer and the power outlet), off several times and contracted cartridges to attempt to clean the print head.  It doesn't seem to be removable, so I'm stuck.  I'm currently under Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.3.  I really need to be able to print several documents as soon as possible.  Help?

  • HP Officejet Pro K8600: Power light + resume light flashing after printing only one Page

After trying to print a document of several page, the printer produced a page and then the power light and the resume light (page feed) Flash. I also tried to print multiple copies of a page, but that leads to the same result.

I can get the lights extinguish by turning printer off then turn it back on. But it will always print that one front page the same lights begin to Flash. I did six times in a row just to print a six page document.

I went through all the steps in troubleshooting HP software. Not like searching for cleaning print heads, re-seats cartridges, etc., fragments of paper. Nothing seems to work.

    @Bob_Headrick

Thank you for your response. However, none of the suggestions could solve the problem. ALTHOUGH the light guide troubleshooting that you provided was close to the solution.

I came across the solution by reading the PDF manual for the printer. On page 77, it describes the power led + resume light flashing. One of the causes for this using EXPIRES of CARTRIDGES of INK, CARTRIDGES RECHARGEES or NON HP CARTRIDGES.

WARNING: It is important to note that if your printer is still under warranty, DO NOT DO THIS. HP notes in the manual using this substitution can void the warranty against damage caused by the use of faulty ink cartridges, obsolete or not allowed.

    SOLUTION:

While the power light and button resume flashing, press and hold the power button and press the button repeat 3 times. This replaces the "apparent" internal error message to use the cartridges you have installed. It may also cause a print cartridge alignment page.

    MY OPINION:

It is important to note the HP cautioned against it, it FIXED MY PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY! I know that the cartridges that I have installed are in agreement. Like many HP owners out there, I take advantage of sales and have stored on cartridges. I guess some may "expires" before you install it. In my view, the idea of "expiring" cartridges also somewhat falls into this column to "How can do us buy more ink?" What kind of market we create where it's cheaper to buy a new printer than to buy a new set of cartridges/toners? BUT it's a slippery slope... let's not go there.

OK, so change the power adapter.
