  • Laptop of HP ENVY TS m7: Cyberlink PowerDVD no longer DVD

Many others have asked about it even in various related situations. I'm looking for an answer to a Support HP technician who has successfully tested this issue on my laptop model HP and Windows 10.

I am running Windows 10 Pro, version 1511 (OS Build 10586.104) on my laptop HP ENVY TS m7 with Cyberlink PowerDVD version 10.0.8.5004 PC.

PowerDVD 10 has worked fine until yesterday. He played a DVD rented without any problem. When I tried to play again I got this error message: "the MPEG-2 video support is not available for this product. You can upgrade your product to the MPEG-2 video support"(see the screenshot image attached below).

My temporary solution is to download and install the freeware VideoLAN VLC Media Player, version 2.2.2 of this link http://get.videolan.org/vlc/2.2.2/win32/vlc-2.2.2-win32.exe then opens Control Panel, AutoPlay, DVD movie and "Play DVD Movie (VideoLAN VLC Media Player)". This allows me to still play DVDs on my laptop.

However, Cyberlink PowerDVD had some very good features and I would like to continue using it. Another user was advised to uninstall Cyberlink PowerDVD and replace it with this download: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71924.exe . Sp71924 is compatible with my model laptop and operating system? I don't want to just try and possibly make things worse.

Also, why so many people have the same problem using their versions of Cyberlink PowerDVD OEM? Is - it simply a plan Cyberlink to force users to pay for a product valued? It seems to me that HP needs to do something about it immediately to maintain their credability and their integrity. That is why I particularly recognizing an answer from HP directly, although others are welcome to offer their advice.

Thank you all for your generous help.

    See you soon,.

  • Pavilion g7-2300: Cyberlink PowerDVD plays more DVDS.

    Hello

Can't read DVD on my HP Pavilion g7-2300 laptop.   I've had this laptop for a while and I was able to play DVDs until a few days ago, but today when I inserted a disc I got this message:

When I click on "learn more" he leads me to a Web page where there are newer versions of the software from cyberlink media available for purchse.  As you can see in the picture there is an ad for one of the versions.

There was an update available for the software Cyberlink PowerDVD, and I installed it.  This did not fix the issue and I still get the same message as above.   I also tried to read different DVDs.

I have PowerDVD OEM version 10.0.8.5723 and uses Windows 8.1.  I had Windows 8.1 for many months and as I said I could read before the DVD with this version of windows.

As I though I know it is not a trial version.  He asks me to buy an upgrade not a full version, that's what leads me to believe that this is not a trial version.

    Why change suddenly?

Unfortunately the Windows Media Player software on my laptop is not reading DVDs.   I tried a Quicktime software, but it doesn't seem to be all available for Windows 8 or 8.1.

I find it weird because in all the decades I used and had computers this is the first time I said that I have to purchase the software in order to use the equipment provided with my computer.

    Hello

CyberLink PowerDVD and Media Player power must be able to play MPEG-2 format media. I suggest you Uninstall the current version of the Software PowerDVD from Cyberlink from your laptop and then after restarting the laptop, download Cyberlink PowerDVD and Media Player power from the link below and install it.

  • G6-2210sa Pavilion: reinstalling Cyberlink PowerDVD

I recently had my University computer technicians replace my faulty hard drive, but unfortunately, it seems that it was too much for them actually reinstall my software, rather put all my existing files into a single large folder entitled "old HD data. Here, I have the files for Cyberlink PowerDVD, including a configuration file, but I have no idea how to reinstall it using these files, or even if you can. Go to the page of software and the drivers from the HP site and enter my laptop model to see if it happens it is futile.

I also tried to search for the HP Recovery Manager as well and no results back - does that mean that I have not installed? (I do not understand how it is possible...)

It came as a preinstalled software and I want to - if someone could tell me how I can get back that would be great, or even if just to tell me that there is no way to do it myself (I'm no tech-y person kind) and I need to get directly in touch with HP I would appreciate it. I know that there is a similar thread here but from 2014 and the links it contains no longer work.

    Hello

You should find that the version of Cyberlink PowerDVD on the following link will work on your laptop.

  • CyberLink PowerDVD 12 read error

I have a computer laptop 15-g094sa HP with Windows 8.1 (64 bit) and for all of my day yesterday, I spent time trying to do my job of PowerDVD 12 .

Some time ago I wanted to watch a DVD, and when it came to the language selection screen and frozen just when I clicked "English". I opened the Task Manager and has completed the session, then tried to restart the DVD and it was always freezing there. I tried several times, but with it still does not, I just dropped.

Around a week later (yesterday), I wanted to watch a different DVD and after the opening scenes (for example my FRIENDS DVD he manages to pass the 'Warner Home Videos' opening), when it comes to go to the main menu of the DVD, it comes up with the box of "PowerDVD12.exe has stopped working" and a crash report of 'Cyberlink PowerDVD can't read disc. Code 0102 =':

I tried to replace the files in the folder Cyberlink of HP laptop to my sister, but I got it audio light, no display and the bar "minimize, maximize and close" is not.

I tried to do the system restore on the 7th, which would mean that I would get the original files, but not far enough to the date that it froze, but after that I got the message that he had failed as a result of my antivirus, I tried two more times with disable my antivirus and the two antivirus and firewall , but still, it did not work.

I uninstalled from the Control Paneland went to "Software and driver downloads HP for my PC. I downloaded the recent PowerDVD 12, he spent the FRIENDS menu screen, but played only 5 seconds of the disc before it gives me the error again.

I tried to install later versions of PowerDVD 12, but it did not work.

These are the versions (in purple) I tried to install:

Browsing the forums I tried the HP System Recovery to reinstall, it does not always work.

(I noticed that when you install PowerDVD, it asks to load/scan files from my computer, after pressing 'next', it loads the homepage of PowerDVD, and symbol loading for my files loading freezes for a bit, then the error message.)

So now, I'm completely stuck on what to do.

I tried with other discs to be sure, but just as FRIENDS, my DVD Twilight more than the opening credits, but never reached the main menu selection screen.

    Help, please!

    Thank you for your answer!

I managed to run through to repeat my previous steps, but dividing them with reboot and use is not the option scan videos, photos or music files for the media!

I uninstalled it again from the Control Panel, found that PowerDVD files still existed in the Program Files (x 86) folder, so I deleted them. After doing this, I restarted my laptop.

I went to HP Recovery Manager and re-installed Cyberlink PowerDVD 12, finished, I rebooted my laptop again.

Open PowerDVD, chose the option of choosing particular to analyze file destinations and click icon trash bin on all files (music, videos and photos) and inserted my Twilight drive and it worked!

It seems that my problem was the analysis of the media files maybe?

Thanks for you answer well and offering this option to me. I hope that if anyone has the same problem as me, they try two possible solutions

  • Reinstall Cyberlink PowerDVD

I feel LIKE Phoenix 810-130qe running on Windows 8.1 (64-bit). I did a clean install of Windows to remove all the bloatware and downloaded all the drivers/software from the HP support for my machine page. When I install Cyberlink PowerDVD, I get an error message "your system does not meet the minimum requirements. Error: 1603 ".

I have read elsewhere on the forum that the Cyberlink from the support page will not install if I have an existing copy of Cyberlink on my computer (which I did not). Is there a way to get around this?

I have a clean install of windows and Cyberlink?

    Thank you

    Hello:

Here is the latest version of PowerDVD I could find (Version 12.0.2.3418).

I tested it out on my 8200 Elite and am currently playing a blu ray film as I type this.  Works very well.

Firstly, I uninstalled V10.0.7 and rebooted, then I installed the new version.

    Enjoy!

  • Pavilion 17-g101dx: remove Cyberlink programs

I just bought a new HP Pavilion and it has four associated programs
in Cyberlink. I use Irfanview and Windows Media Player for
my display and ripping operations. I don't watch DVDs or do
    all complicated image change.

It would be safe to get rid of these pre-loaded programs
and what should I use Revo or Perfect Uninstaller to do the
work are the windows uninstaller will do?

PS - my 320 CD are in the reader of music if it will affect my
library when I delete the program?

    Hello

There is no problem with the removal of these software and you should be fine uninstall in the usual way of software under programs and features entries.

About your music library, Cyberlink PowerMedia player only index the files on your HARD drive, so remove it shouldn't affect it somehow - you can just want to verify that Windows Media Player has indexed your music files before you uninstall cyberlink player powermedia.

  • Satellite P50-B-103 - Cyberlink Powerdvd does not install the update from Toshiba

So I have an update for my toshiba Satellite P50B-103 for "cyberlink powerdvd" and it does not install, just to unpack and does nothing.

I left the laptop to operate for about an hour to see if anything installed but it does not, what to do?

Are you talking about the video player updated v 6.1.2.1 - A available on the Toshiba UE driver page?

It is an update and requires the Player preinstalled (full version).

After downloading, you will need to unzip the package (vidpl-20140813100353)
Then, in the vidpl-20140813100353 package, you will find the TC30704300A.exe file.
It is also a zipped folder. Right click on TC30704300A.exe and extract the files.
After that, you will get the TC30704300A containing various additional files where you can start the update process.

  • Pavilion 15-p158sa: Bios is not updated

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone can help.

I just bought a computer laptop HP Pavilion 15-p158sa and when you use the HP Wizard it says I have a few updates including bios, so I chose all of them and let run, after awhile it restarted and went through the steps of flashing the bios.
When I get back to the hp Wizard all updates are done but it still says my bios update needs run again and the same thing happens still show that she needs update.

I also downloaded the bios directly at hp and installed, but it is always the same.

My current bios is v34 (14 December) and said he needs is v.34Ap1 (January 15)

Any help would be great, because it bothers me lol

I understand that break you the feet, but the currently installed version is F.34.

    It is very good.

A common practice of wise, even if the HP Support Assistant suggests, is updating the BIOS when there is a specific reason.

The HPSA on BIOS tips is something that you can safely ignore. Can see the following image that the update does not any improvements or fix that will enhance your computing experience.
