Pavilion dv5 1002nr portable p: Customize the dvd launch button

does anyone know how to customize the DVD button. Before I reinstalled the operating system the person was the custom button to open a game. I can't find anything in the control panel to change. I tried using QuickPlay button remapper program but it does not work. I can't find another thing that helps online.

Thank you

Hello

You can re - map key as follows.

Hold down the Windows key and press R.

In the Run dialog box, type regedit and press ENTER.

Click Ok to the uac prompt.

Navigate to the following location.

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hewlett-Packard HP Quick Launch buttons

Find the key QAction

You must change the path to the executable file in the left pane that you want to run when the button is pressed - for example to launch a program called 'Play' a the example path is C:\Program Files\Game Folder\Game.exe

Once this is done, you will need restart the laptop until the changes take effect.

Kind regards

  • short circuit in power CC connect Pavilion dv5-1002nr

I bought my son a Pavilion dv5-1002nr in August 2008. The battery started to not hold a charge. It seems that there is a short circuit in the DC power connect. The Geek Squad at Best Buy (where I bought the laptop) says that to fix it, the motherboard must be replaced - about $ 500. Really? It is the only solution? Can anyone confirm? I would be grateful for information. If it is true, I won't buy another HP if they will only last less than 2 years. Help!

OK, the only way to get this d/c Jack is to buy all cases of lower integer.  This is the info for the hp part store. I hope this helps.

  • HP Pavilion DV5-1002NR won't start...

Recently during the game Team Fortress 2, my laptop off automatically (as a precaution-i security CPU guess was too hot?)

and I've waited a long time to turn it back on... and it does not light. The only thing that flashes (while running on battery)

is the Flash LED flashes 3 times whenever I press the power button.

Something more strange is that my phone accepts not as costs of a/c (ie the led is connected a/c)

My fear is that I bricked the machine, which is unfortunate because I have lots of photos on the hard drive, as well as some of

    Any help would be nice...

It is strange to have DV5-1002NR in the States? given that NR appears as a code for the Netherlands

Try a new power adapter.  If there is no light when it's plugged in, it is not powered (this is why the lights flash - the battery is dead).  If a new power adapter does not work then there is a problem with the jack card or feeding system.

  • My HP Pavilion dv5 1126em does not boot the system.

My laptop does not continue to boot the system, when I press the button it starts feeding and then he shows me the HP logo in the lower left corner "Press ESC for Boot Menu" does not continue, and stop there and does not respond to any button only for the power button then it turns off, I tried everything. It happened after wile recovering the session of my recovery disk.

Please help me identify what the problem is?

I hope I'm wrong, but it is quite possible that your hard drive is damaged and must be replaced. I'll tell you why I think so.

Last year at the end of December, I had the same problem with my HP Pavilion dv6. When I pressed the power button only the HP logo and the "press ESC for Boot Menu" appeared. I wasn't able to get into the BIOS or to do anything else. The laptop take-out hung on the HP Logo. I gave the laptop HP service and they told me that my hard drive has disappeared and they replaced. The strange was that my laptop was fairly new, I've had for 3 months. The good thing is that they have replaced the hard drive for free, because it was under warranty.

  • Where are the quick launch buttons?

    Hello

I have a ProBook s 4710 and I had app called "Quick Launch Buttons" pre-installed on my computer. The thing is - where these buttons are on my laptop? There is a button next to the Start button, which launches the application quick launch buttons, but how can I configure this key for something else and where is the rest of the buttons?

    See you soon.

    Hello

Depending on each application, some applications (games, mainly) allow you to reprogram the function keys. Alternatively, you can assign the macro to your function keys:

and you can change your keyboard layout using the following instructions:

  • Microsoft Sidewinder Gaming Mouse (not X 3, X 5 or X 8) change the function of the Quick Launch button?

Dear Microsoft, I have a mouse Microsoft's Sidewinder, this one to be exact: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/sidewinder-mouse

I was wondering if there is absolutely anyway to change the function of the quick launch on the mouse button, it opens the folder of the game, but it is rather useless since the Games folder is in itself pointless. Tell me there must be something? The Intellipoint software allows me to change the functions of button on it EXCEPT only one darn button.

If it's any help this quick launch button is ALSO present on all other iterations of the Sidewinder gaming mouse.

    Any information or advice welcome.

  • HP dv5 1002nr: mobile caps and the number key at the same time blink once

I was doing some updates on the computer when the power of the battery is dead and when the power cord I had a black screen and the caps and digital key will appear to blink once at the same time. I upgraded the operating system about 1 months ago for Windows 7 and it works fine until the updates have started to update.

    Hey there @Masen2016!

Thanks for the reply as on caps and numlock lights blink once each time.

This indicates that it could be a problem with the processor,

And you cannot pass a processor on a laptop as the system in the BIOS configuration is written in.

If you upgrade a laptop part would be a malfunction.

So, you can contact HP and get the machine.

  • Pavilion dv5-1002nr with Vista 32 bit

Using HP recovery disks, the laptop stops prematurely. The recovery has been launched due to problems of stability resulting in Vista does not. During part of the execution of the Recovery Manager, the error message occurred:

    STOP: c000021a {fatal system error}

The initial session process or the processes of the system ended unexpectedly with the lock status 0 x 00000000 (0 x 0000001 0x0010037c).

The system has been shut down. Any ideas? Vista is still on the hard drive?

    Hello

    To answer your questions.

    1. with regard to the hard drive, you are in no way limited to a given manufacturer, so it may be much cheaper to buy the disk from somewhere like Amazon.  According to Page 62 of your care Guide & your laptop can certainly take a 320 GB HARD drive, and once, if you wanted to, you could install a disk 7200 RPM if you want (you may lose a bit of autonomy, but hardly noticeable when on the other hand, the increase in performance).  I would stay away from Advanced Format hard drives but.

So to summarize, any 320 GB drive HARD Sata II (5400 RPM or 7200 RPM) will be fine--an example would be this drive.

    2. you can use your existing HP recovery disks to reinstall Vista on the new HARD drive - they will also reinstall all of the original software that came with your laptop as well as recreate the Partition on the new HARD drive recovery - a guide on the use of your set of recovery disks to install Vista on the new HARD drive is here.

    3. why the failure of the disk is impossible to tell without further analysis - the average life of a HARD drive lasts between 3-5 years but some fail much earlier while others last much longer.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Best regards

  • Pavilion dv5 overheats when connected to the adapter

Well, when I connect my laptop adaptor starts to overheat, noise and temperature increases

When I remove the card, my fan slows and it becomes 'normal '.

    What should I do?

It stops due to overheating?  Your computer is supposed to work more faster/more hot when plugged in to a power source.
