When I use sometimes does turn on not just that sometimes when I do some work in my laptop automatically display is absent. Finally, I decided to get it in the store that I bought it. They called for the guarantee of HP. Because it's "always in warranty period. They said they'd send an E-mail to guaranteed CV Office include snaps of my bills and other things needing to update my warranty.

    > (i) how to check if the recovery partition is windows 8 or 10.

My guess is 'Windows 8 '.

    How to confirm:

    1. buy a disk from Seagate or Western Digital drive.

    2. use the software these manufacturers provide for "clone" of the original drive to the new drive.

    3. attach the clone to another computer, as a 'slave' hard drive.

4 remove all content the largest partition (the one that contains Windows 10).

    5 detach the clone disk.

6 detach your original disks from your computer and place it nearby, carefully and described as 'original. '

    7. fix the clone disk.

8 start since this recovery partition

    9. what operating system offer to install?

    10 remove the clone disk.

    11 reattach the original drive.

Or, perhaps, to look at the time stamp on the files in the recovery partition.

If it is Windows 8, the 'average' age of files will be much older than if it was Windows 10.

    > partition (ii) the recovery seems to be total about 16GB, but the files inside it are only about 600 MB of total.

There are a lot of 'hidden' files which is not included in this total of 600 MB.

In addition, based on the geometry of your hard-drive, 16 GB is probably the smallest 'slice' that can be allocated.

    > (iii) if possible pls tell me the steps to create a windows 10 recovery partition.

    Beginning

    System

    Recovery

to write on a 16 GB - USB - drive all the files necessary to reinstall Windows 10.

Not a partition on your hard disk (which could fail), but a "device."

  • Pavilion dv6 - official warranty need

    Hello

I am in year 2 to have a Pavilion dv6, expiration of the 1 year warranty, but I have a 2nd year with the credit card with which I bought the laptop. They ask the official warranty. Anyone know how I can find the official warranty. I guess it would be in PDF format. Interestingly, I kept the documents with the initial purchase and a 'answers at your fingertips' and "Phone numbers in the world" are inserted, but no guarantee official.

It is a HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC with product number: A3E82AV.

  • my hp warranty has expired, but it was jst 11 months since 1 bought this laptop. HP PAVILION 1318AX G6

Dear Sir, my model is hp pavilion 1318ax. I use windows 7. battery of my laptop fell down to a very weak State, it is not even give an autonomy of 15 minutes. Shows an error message everytime I turn on my laptop on battery. My warranty expired online, but I bought my laptop in December 2012, and I according to my purchase date, I still have my guarantee.

Where are you located? You need to contact HP technical support. They are the guarantee of an expected purchase date according to when it left the factory, but the actual warranty is 12 months from the purchase at retail (probably). So if you have a warranty issue and can prove the date of purchase the warranty date can be adjusted. But not by us. We is not HP itself a few end users who answer questions. Contact HP.

  • HP Pavilion 15 t-bc000: warranty Checker displays the incorrect Date of expiry

I bought a new Pavilion laptop and received on Monday (September 12, 2016). When I customized it I chose
HP 3 years against accidental damage with 3 days on-site Pavilion Notebook Service to go with it. Monday in the end, I noticed that HP has only 1 year what guaranteed manufacturer attached to it. I made MANY phone calls between yesterday and today, and no one is fixing the issue. they stop of me yesterday that the problem is solved and I would see that he fixed on the Web site "in a few hours. It was suspiciously afternoon when I was told this. I waited at least 5 hours to check out the website and it always says that I have a 1 year manufacturer warranty. Then I checked again today, and he said even 1 year manufacturer warranty.

If you look at my order details it says that product number is ABC (edited for security reasons). If you press fn + ESC or look down the system there say the number of product is XYZ (edited for security reasons). It has the serial number for the TWO serial numbers. I don't know if that's the issue or what. I need this problem in case I need it, and it seems that nobody knows how.

  • Pavilion x 360-13-a110dx: HP technical support will not fix a broken warranty screen

    Computer tech support rant:

So I treat my electronics with care. For some strange reason, recently developed a crack on the touch screen of my combo of tablet or a laptop HP Pavilion 360. The thing is usable, and the slot is under the top layer there so no finger injury if I touch the screen. But he fixed it needs, so I filled in the online form to explain my problem to a solution of warranty. I was then told I can call to track and match an option repair or by e-mail. Very well, very well. No problem. I'll call. I can do things with the phone on speaker.

An hour and 20 minutes later and three of call center foreign representatives who were not clear of the USA (meets one, one was a tech rep, and then he couldn't do the actual sending in and fix the situation so I went to a representative cost and repair to figure out how to fix it), and I'm mad on fire. First of all, all three repeat what I wrote and asked questions as if I'm lying to them, or did not know what I did wrong. We had the audacity to ask how do I close my laptop. Yes Ma'am, I slam it down as hard as I can and throw it against the wall to see what happens and make sure that it shuts down for the night. (I did say that, but may as well have.) I'm on my products.

She said that it would cost $270 to fix. Wait, $270? She said because it was a screen problem, it costs money. I said that it is under warranty. Equipment is under warranty, no software apparently. But this isn't the software, it's a HARD to the device component. I can't just install and uninstall a touchscreen. I'm paying $270 plus delivery charges when I bought in May last for $350. If I pay that much for setting a screen, I may as well buy a new unit that is faster and more up-to-date.

She said that it would increase it to a supervisor. They were not available after 18 pm, et. I said I work next week, leaving the House at 6:30 et and will not be home until after 18 pm, et. I said that I should call after 6 p.m., HE. I can't take the time during the day to discuss my PC because if this call took 1h20m, I don't have this time to a new job.

Then, suddenly, they can call me after 18 pm, et. When they do it on Monday, if he is a foreigner, I'll ask an English person precise and clear language. I'm not trying to be racist, then falsely accuse me if you want, but when it comes to communication, and there is a problematic thick accent because English is not their native language in India or wherever they are, this is a serious matter. If I do not understand the words coming out of their mouth without having to constantly ask for something repeatedly or super attentive because if I'm not I can miss a word that misinterprets the whole sentence, which is good enough for me. I've been at both ends of the customer service, so talk to someone English * IS * critical, especially when the situation is bad. I want an American on this one.

Either they fix it for free AND fix it on a quick as soon as POSSIBLE process (because frankly, I was insulted with how they treated me and the hold time every time to ask the same questions and made to be a perpetrator of my machine), or I am done with HP/Compaq products after 15 years of loyalty to them. Really, I don't expect even a call Monday from HP. I doubt that someone calls me.

And for what it's worth, what computer HP from my ex-wife was a breach of the hinge, which was material. I might took pliers and broke on purpose. But they don't set any question. But a screen which has not been clearly cracked by me (trust me, I could take a hammer to it and make a spider web crack) are not treated and is not material? What is it? TouchWare a new term? If it is not material, I want to know what it is. And I don't like what the said guarantee, if you send a defective product that lasts not even eight months (if), you need to fix. I did take a hammer to my screen, I do not slam my PC or throw it against something, and it's in a protective case when I travel, and it is placed in a safe place when not in use. In fact, I barely use the touchscreen. But still I'm done feeling it is my fault and I have to pay $270?

I would like to fix it myself with pieces on Amazon, but must completely disassemble the screen of the keyboard part part and it's a mess and not worth. I'm going to buy a new something and be done with it. But for a crack I did not cause - and if they were seen, they would know because the crack is below and not something that I can do on top - and say $270? Kiss my rear. Repair at our expense, or lose my business. And I shall not distribute for free, but when I'm insulted, and when I type my problem and give me the Spanish Inquisition, whenever I talk to someone, as if what I typed was a generic fraud, I'm deeply offended. I have another thing to do with 1h20m of my time on a Saturday than waste it with HP trying to solve their problem of product.

Fifteen years of my first Compaq Presario several models of HP Pavilion of desktop computers and laptops. Six in total, I bought Windows me to XP to Vista to Windows 8 (and the free update 10).  Guess that's done now because HP has dropped the ball, unless they are equipped through a miracle.

Well, long story short, the PC was fixed under warranty with a new screen and he was only gone for a week or two. Looks like new. They documented my case several times that fall overseas really left call center the ball bad. They did NOT follow the Protocol. Even if the American side did not guarantee that he would be a guarantee, they handled so much better than what it was initially.

Basically, if you don't like the answer, and you know what people overseas, manipulation, find a way to talk to an American. They're going to get this done, and if the answer is not a good one, well, you know that it is legitimate at least since he saw rather than phone diagnosed.

  • Guarantee of the disc is still valid with expired warranty Pavilion?

I have a HP Pavilion g7-1070us laptop with a Toshiba hard drive dead confirmed.  The laptop was purchased in March 2011, at the expiration of the standard warranty in April 2012.

I checked the warranty of the hard drive by the Web from Toshiba site and they say that it is covered until April 2014.  However, they also say that I have to go through the manufacturer for warranty work, since it is part of the OEM.

Is this correct?  If so, how can I get a replacement of the hard disk that is under warranty, when the laptop belonged is not?

    Thank you

    Jim

I guess I was also trying to explain that there is no reason to be angry against HP. They didn't do anything that every other computer manufacturer did not 20 years. It's just the way the world works. Again, sorry.

  • Pavilion 15-R253NW: replacement keyboard - warranty and manual problem

    Hello

I have to face with unpleasant question. I tried to clean my keyboard and unfortunately, some of the buttons after disassembly will not 'stick' again. Under the buttons plastic ties seem to be loose and he won't keep together more.

    So here's my question:

Can I replace the keyboard for the new - myself and Do NOT LOSE THE WARRANTY at the same time? Or it must be done in the service of HP? And the second thing, I was wondering if anyone of you could maybe explain in some detail how to handle myself?

    Laptop HP Pavilion 15-r253nw

Thanks in advance for your help

Yes. Good news. Replacement of the keyboard is permitted to end users and is pretty easy to do. See page 45 of the manual here:

    Manual

You can also see the list of keyboards by language, and if you let us know that that you need we can help you locate it. Also need countries that it would be delivered. After back with other questions.
