HP Pavilion, HP HPE-1240: my KEY ID has expired.

I bought some software 'prevention hacker' a company, since my PC has crashed.

They called today to inform me that my PC KEY had expired?  They showed me where it says that.

They also showed me where some Services have been "stopped" in the Task Manager.

Services such as the "protection Network", "Remote registry", "WIndows Defender" "biometric system windows", Windows "and Windows Error Reporting System" color system were all arrested.

They want $350 also to install a new key...

I do not know med is ligitimate, any suggestions?  or corrections to this problem?

Any help would be apreciated, thank you in advance.

This looks like a scam.  I got scammers call me saying they are leaving Microsys (after Microsoft stop scammers saying they were from Microsoft) and saying that my computer has a problem and I was able to verify this in the case where Viewer (which always displays errors) and led services had been arrested (normal also).

I suggest to stay away from these people - they are crooks.  In my case (where I leave them in a test machine to see what they were doing), they attempted to encrypt my drive hard once I said finally that I didn't buy their services.  Had they been successful my system would have been unusable.

Did you ever let these people in your machine?  If not make sure, you do not have in the future.  If you have, I'd be worried that your system can now have malware.  I would make sure to run an antivirus scan (a lot of free AV programs if you do not - I used AVAST and AVG free programs here) and also a Malwarebytesanti-malware program.

    Hello

You can never ensure that the 'crook' has no plant malware or a virus in your PC.  These companies exist since then and claim to be representative of the major PC companies and ISP services and they are very careful about not to inform you of the real name. Usually they simply log, run software and then claim to have solved a problem (that never really existed).

If you are uncomfortable about what happened then I recommend you to perform a full recovery of HP using the external recovery media.  Backup your data before recovery.  Be sure to close any newspaper if created IDs and remote capability.

Bottom line: If some calls saying that your PC has a virus and then hang up.

These Tools Norton are very good to the discovery and repair of malicious software issues and viruses.

    Hi there @LROSZKOW,

I hope you find your experience of positive Support Forum! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that you have had problems with the updates of Windows and want to know if you can upgrade to Windows 10. I'm happy to help you with this.

Reading the questions you have described in your current system that you cannot upgrade to Windows 10, using the normal method of free upgrade. Your system should have the option available from a previous update of Windows, as the free update is delivered via Windows update. If you have a Windows 7 or 8.1 product key, then you could do a clean install of Windows 10 and use this key to activate your Windows 10 free documents. Of course, you want to first make a backup of your data.

Another option would be to try to load the original image from the desktop computer, and then try to update again by using Windows Update. This assumes you have a working recovery partition or recovery media. Computers HP - performing a recovery of system HP (Windows 7)  But to protect your data, you want to make a first backup as I mentioned.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE-400Y no video output.

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-400Y computer that I had stored (unplugged) in a bedroom closet bedroom for almost a year.  It was working fine when I put it in storage.

This past weekend, I wanted to use, so I plugged in and connected to an analog VGA monitor well known on the integrated motherboard video VGA analogue connector.  When I turned on, there is no video on the monitor.  I searched the HP support site and found a statement that said "built into the graphics card or the card PCI Express x 16 slot are usable at once; they are not usable at the same time. "This computer came with a 5450 PCI express X 16 video card installed.

However, the 5450 PCI express X 16 video card only has a digital DVI and I wanted to use a loose analog VGA monitor.  So I powered it turned off and physically removed the 5450 PCI express X 16 video card.  Then I unplugged the power cord and removed the CMOS battery for a few minutes.  Then I replaced the battery and applied again to power.

I still do not get all analog VGA video out of the motherboard, not even the BIOS messages it is first energized.

I also tried to integrated edge connector with a DVI equipped, monitor.  Still, there is no video output.

So I removed the power and re-installed the 5450 PCI express X 16 video card that has only a DVI connector.  I connected to a monitor DVI equipped and applied again to power.  There is still no video output was two well-known instructors.

When I turn on the computer, the fan power works, processor and fans of casing run, the blue led on the switch is lit and not blinking.  The Green LED on the motherboard is on.  The Green orange and activity led Ethernet link light are on.  There are no beeps.  I can hear the hard drive starts to work.  I have no video output.

I use a HP USB keyboard and a USB mouse.  The red LED at the bottom of the mouse is not on.  The shift lock and lock lights number do not light when you press the corresponding key.

This computer has spent more time of storage that it has been used.  It worked even when stored in a bedroom closet in bedroom.  I checked all the wire connections on the motherboard, with no improvement.

I would like any suggestions to get this working of the computer.  I wonder if the motherboard has somehow that went wrong.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello Big Dave,

Thank you for answering my question / problem.

I am aware that I can not use an analog VGA connection on the motherboard for a digital DVI input on my LCD monitor and vice versa.  I tried two different montors both analog and digital connections on the motherboard.  I tried to communicate clearly, but I guess that I don't have.

It is unimportant, now that I've found that HP recognizes that my computer model had a drawing or a manufacturing defect that causes the exact symptoms I am having.  There is here a link to HPs extended warranty program that describes the patterns and symptoms:

  • Pavilion Elite HPE-170F recovery problem

I woke up yesterday to a problem of blue screen on my Windows 7 Pavilion Elite HPE-170F.  Following reboot, but would end up the same way.  Tried to boot mode without failure, but same result.  A technician came to the House and he did Diagnostics with its test disc that says the HD had to be replaced.  I had my recovery disks that I made when I bought the computer 4 years, which made her happy.  He installed the new HD and put the old in another location, planning to transfer my files after the restore.  He began the process of recovery with disk 1 and told me to change the disks as needed while he went to see another client.  All done and then it entered into startup mode of windows. went black for a while and then gave me the message "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on hardware.  The technician returned and tried other things but the same results.  We ordered a new series of HP recovery disks but will take a week.  The question, since the instructions say to disconnect everything except the monitor, keyboard, and mouse, would be the printer that is wireless a problem and should it be turned off?  Also, the mouse and the keyboard are different than the original, which would be a problem.  In addition, Windows installed several updates of the day before the problem.

I venture a guess the your computer uses an Intel chipset, can be set to "RAID", and the replacement of the hard disk is a disk AF (Advanced Format). Please see desktop HP - can not recover the PC after replacing the Hard Drive with an AF Drive (Windows 7 and Vista) for more information on this topic. Please see computers HP-HP System Recovery troubleshooting (Windows 7) for more information on the AF drives and some troubleshooting tips.

Alternatively, if you can still read the Windows product key of 25 characters on the COA Microsoft attached to your computer, you can install Windows 7 using this key. Please see "how to install Windows 7 without the disc" to get instructions on how to download Windows 7, create the installation media and install Windows 7 using the product key 25 character of the COA Microsoft on your computer. Using this method will not install HP customizations or value-added software and you will have to manually install all necessary drivers.

  • USB ports do not respond after boot to Windows 7 - HP Pavilion Elite HPE

I turned on a HP Pavilion Elite HPE this morning and none of the USB ports work under Windows 7.

Mouse and USB keyboard work well in the BIOS Setup.  But after Windows starts, it is as if he found neither.

I tried to start Windows in Safe Mode and last known good Configuration and the behavior is the same, the mouse and keyboard do not work even if they do it in the BIOS.

I tried a different mouse and keyboard and Windows behavior is the same.

Now, I would like to have active remote destop. Difficult to solve without an input device.

I found a solution for Windows 7 x 64 failing to detect any USB device on all ports USB to a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-500f.

After that backup, read and edit the registry remotely to run the utility of Microsoft Devcon registry run key, Devcon announce an error message 39 for USB hubs.  Enter 'Windows error 39 usb hub' in a search engine led me to the next web page that describes the resolution of the problem. I removed the UpperFilters also well described and restarted key and until then. -See more at: http://www.tricksguide.com/solve-device-manager-error-code-39-on-usb-controller.html

  • How to add to my HP Pavilion Elite HPE-590uk Usb 3.0

Hi does anyone know if I can improve my HP Pavilion Elite HPE-590uk for usb 3.0 and if so could you recommend a product that I could buy to do this.  Thanks in advance.

    One of them check it:

    http://www.overclockers.co.UK/showproduct.php?ProdID=CC-003-AK

This is to use a pci-e x 1 card. You have 2 these slots available. This will show you how do:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02255267.PDF

See the section on the replacement of a card.

Instead of plugging on the long black slot which is a video card plug into one of the slots black short. You have Windows 7 I think which means that you will need a driver, but that should come on a CD with the card. Will need you a power connector (molex) on the map, too.

HP Pavilion Elite HPE-500f desktop PC - I would like to upgrade food, video card and hard drive. Can I use a SATA III hard drive? Can I use a 4 Gig ATI video card? Those are the weak links in this computer in the measurement of performance, Windows 5.1 index. The ram has already been updated to 16G. I would use a hard drive WD Black edition.

    Thank you!

    [email protected]

You can use a SATA-III HDD but the 785G chipset only supports SATA-II. You won't see any difference, and the SATA-III is backward compatible. You have a 300W power supply. You can put in a better and with a minimum 500 or 600 watt PSU, you can install any videocard, pcie 16 x which will be in good physical shape. In retail offices, there is simply not as much space as in a custom build Tower and best video cards these days are huge things two locations. Don't forget, it fits with room to spare, or you will have problems of air circulation.

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 532 s: 'Secure Boot Configuration' not found?

Hello support, I wanted to disable startup secure for my office.
I have a pavilion Elite HPE - 532 s Bios 7.15 I followed the step of many posts, but I don't have it under the heading "security"?
    I am on window 10 64-bit UEFI.
I wanted to disable, because I have a new GTX 960 graphics card and it stuck on the HP logo at startup all the time when I use the new card. !!

I tried to disable the security slot, but no matter what I do I get a black screen for my card both old and new so I have to reset the bios settings.
    Help me please.

    Thanks for the additional information.

    Here is my diagnosis/notice:

I don't think you'll be able to get the GTX 960 to work with this system.

Why it won't work in the UEFI/GPT:

It will not work in the UEFI [I think] 960 GTX is one card of UEFI and you must disable secure boot to make it work. Your BIOS is only "UEFI compatible" originally planned for Windows 7 [which does not support secure boot]. If you are unable to disable the secure startup, you can not use this card.

Why it won't work in legacy/MBR:

It won't work in legacy because it's a single card of UEFI.

    My suggestion:

Return to the legacy/MBR and use a graphics card that has a dual BIOS BIOS/hybrid or one who supports in particular the Legacy BIOS as described in one of my previous posts.

    Some other things to consider:

You PSU has enough power for this card? I think it takes a minimum of 400W PSU.

You connect the auxiliary power connector?

Have you tried to disable "Intergrated Graphics" in the BIOS [as appropriate]

No, the GTX 950 requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  There is no way to update the motherboard in the UEFI.  Latest video cards do not for UEFI were the GTX 660/670.  I suggest that you choose a manufacturer and contact their Technical Support to help them choose the best card for your system.

You will also need to upgrade the power supply (PSU).  It is only 300W.  Most newer cards require at least 400W to work properly.  Although status map specifications at least 300 w, members reported that they had at least to 400W.

    Hi I have a

BIOS: american megatrends Inc. 5.13, 03/03/2010

    BIOS mode: legacy

    OEM power 460w

I would like to know if the motherboard can support the gpu or not

Please answer as soon as possible

    Thank you < 3

    Greetings,

750ti GTX requires BIOS version 8.xx.

This card to initialize not due to lack of UEFI support in the BIOS.

Discover the Nvidia 600 series graphics cards as they will run on a legacy PC BIOS. The 600 series cards can run on a PCIex16 Gen1 slot. I have not checked this.

I've seen information indicating that some AMD manufacturers ship AMD cards with the ability to switch between legacy and UEFI BIOS.

Check out it at Sapphire Tech.

So these four cards do not work when it is combined with adequate food on a legacy BIOS PC with a PCIE x 16 Gen2 slot.

The PC can have only one slot PCIex16 Gen1. The cards are not compatible in this case.

You will need to check the prospective: graphics card power and the dimensions of upgrade to check both will fit your turn.  We must also find a graphics card that runs on a slot PCIex16 Gen1.

    See you soon!
