HP Pavilion P6610f with drive CDDVD TS-H653R disconnects intermittently

Windows 7 64-bit. My CD-DVD drive will be intermittently connection-disconnection on every 5 seconds.  There is no all the time. But I could play an Audio CD and Windows Media (or iTunes) screen will appear and disappear because it connects disconnects. I can often solve by restarting, but then can happen again. Also, if I start a Cd set and he normally plays and then use my KVM switch to work on my other computer (while listening to CD on this machine), the CD stops and the player disconnects as soon as the USB keyboard/mouse/monitor are disconnected.  I'm used to be able to enjoy music even without KB/mouse needing to be connected all the time.  This happens with the two 11.0.4.4 iTunes or Windows Media player (version 12?)  Yes, have tried several disks.  They are not jumping, it's a Windows SHIFT as the drive letter shows go away and return.

I'm interested to hear from someone who has actually seen this on a machine and subsequently resolved.

When I had a bad hard drive, I would advice to the reader 'disconnect' and then come back online. It seems that the CD/DVD drive is going bad and should be replaced. You have another computer to swap the CD/DVD drive with? You have a friend to share with the readers of CD/DVD? I an another CD/DVD drive installation and test for the issue confirm that the issue is indeed a default CD/DVD drive.

Please send BRAVO

  • Pavilion p6610f Desktop Hard Drive will not be reset to zero when you restart

HP Pavilion p6610f than Desktop PC Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit HDD (I think) could not restart. There was no indication of a problem before me by clicking on the button restart. I have this sometimes just to clarify things, looks like things work better. When it restarted, it went to a screen with 2 choices 'launch start repair or load normally. I chose startup repair. He loaded some files & drivers but finally comes to the screen 'blue '. I tried to start the computer with all the 'F' keys, none worked, always came back to the blue screen. Tried to start the recovery discs I did, same thing. I started with the ERD that I did it. Same thing. Would not not even go to Safe Mode. Nothing. But, there is no prior problems. Nothing made me think that I should do something to deal with a disaster. Then a "friend of a friend" came and replaced the hard 'for free' drive and installed windows 8 (which I hate) and now the computer makes a ticking noise and a sound plaintive, as when there is a bad DVD in the drive, it work so now slow, freezes, takes internet forever and made so much noise I think it's going to explode. I think I should replace the hard drive with the "right" and then use my recovery disks. He said that windows 8 was just too big of an OS for the hard drive, it took, that is why it is slow. But couldn't I erase or reformat the hard disk, and then use my recovery disks. As it is, I have no HP software on the computer more.  Is there a way to get the data from my old hard drive? I'm willing to take the time to learn how to do all this by myself if I knew that this is possible and if it is useful? [edited font color and characters]

    Hello Ty965,

I understand that you fell on some hard drive problems and a friend of a friend installed a former player for you and since he turned slowly and noisily. Personally, I recommend that you buy a new hard drive and then review and follow the instructions on the HP Support document: performing a recovery of HP (Windows 7) system, which will guide you through the recovery process and get your computer back operational.

If you don't have the recovery discs for your computer you can buy them for a cheap price of HP Media software and the drivercommand.

I hope that I have addressed the issue to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

Hello. Pavilion p6130y with Pegatron M2N7B - LA, Vista Home Premium 64 bit, Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 750 GB. Has stopped not working, with errors, none found in storage. Cable sata switched to other ports-same results. Bought the new Seagate hard drive and tested with new cables and ports with the same results. Taken to the technicians at best buy have tested and said it was the motherboard and not the hard drive. I don't know how they determined it was the motherboard - guy looked at the jury and said Oh yes I see it now... etc. Is it possible that I can say that it is the motherboard? I know enough to be dangerous ) with the material. Told us that a new motherboard is about $600. -better to get a new computer. The computer is around the age of 29 months. Is there a fuse that could be replaced if found reason for blowing possible in the first place? Seems too early for a bad mother for me. Thanks for any help.

Ah Ah! Your motherboard is the origin of the problem, not hard drives. If the system is out of warranty, chances are you would, but I always call and let them know you have a problem with the map of M2N7B - violet.

Hello 88feederups, apparently, your only recourse is to press F-7 to continue and see if the system boots to the desktop.

If you manage to get to the desktop, I suggest trying to backup your important data and make sure you have a version of Windows XP. You must also consider finding a new hard drive.

The failed Test Smart can be a reason for the hard drive do not completely, if not already.

Here is the link for the specifications of your system and it shows the system comes with a hard drive of 160 GB Ultra DMA.

It is a type IDE ATA hard drive and not the new kind of Sata.

  • Office Pavilion p6610f HP says: use SATA0 or 1, but HD is in Port 11 should I go back and change?

HP Desktop Pavilion p6610f 64bits just installed new refurbished Hard Drive No. OS and yet I followed all the steps in the tutorial of HP, but one thing I didn't notice at first was that HP is said to use the smaller ports numbered disc hard SATA Seagate SATA HD shows that it is in the drive of 1st in the BIOS and when I checked for the SATA port There was just the USB ports, I assumed they were the same, but the only ports connected on 11 were the mouse and the keyboard on the 6 & 7 and a mass on the 11 port storage device (that is the hard drive?)  If it's the hard drive, do I go back and unplug something and put it in the USB port 0 and port 1? I had so many problems with the computer from another installed a faulty? hard drive, after the failure of the original, and I just wanted to be sure I did well, and it would be so good sail once I install my Diska recovery and follow other steps suggested by hP.  I guess I'll let it start and see what happens. (I'm on a right of the laptop next to my office right now)  It said to restart with the appropriate boot device.  I guess I should put in the first disc of recovery means turn the computer off then turn it back on again.

My hard drive installation was a success and now, after installation program recovery discs and 100's of updates Windows and updates of the HP driver, everything seems to work very well.  The hard drive is intalled in port 1 and there is no noise as if it was with the previous replacement hard drive.  But things are still running much slower than they were before the crash.   I disabled elements start and removed many unnecessary programs and don't have not download all of my old library backup files in order to preserve the memory. I will buy and install several memory cards, a mink, update the BIOS Hardware Diagnostic test and hope that somewhere along the line, I will not solve the problem.  I consider this case closed and I thank all those who have posted to give me a helping hand.  Taylor

  • Pavilion p6610f Desktop: software blocking Wifi transmission

Pavilion p6610f Desktop 64 bit Win 7 Home Premium SP1.  I had problems with the buffering and freezing in my browsing on the internet. I contacted my Internet provider after doing all the clean to the top of my computer that I knew how to do. After an hour or two with the agent to remote access to my computer and them telling me that everything was going well at their end, I asked why the icon Wifi in my taskbar shows only two bars on a possible 5 when my computer is right next to my Wifi modem? I was told it was probably a software interfering with the Wifi transmission.  I ran Microsoft malware and adware programs removal & Ms. Mr. Fixit.  I have MS Security Essentials and have not all problem reports.  My provider Internet telling me the truth?  Is the lack of Wifi reception with software that I can't find? Hi there @TY965

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that you are getting a signal strength wireless low, despite the close proximity. I'm happy to help you with this.

In some respects, being too close could be part of the problem. Because of the arrangement of the devices, it could be that the receiver on your desktop does not receive a clear signal, due to the metal in its framework. I suggest moving the router wireless in the location and see if you can get a better signal. This page has also some other useful information which may affect the strength of the signal.

How to get a better Wireless Signal and reduce interference of wireless network - howtogeek.com

If that does not help or make a difference, then you can try looking at your system itself. Start with the next page, and if there is no improvement, wok your way through the other sections, I have included, until it is resolved.

  • Audio drivers for reformatted HP Pavilion dv6700 with Windows 7 OS

It is my first time please post here, so be nice, people...

In any case, the problem started when I re-installed a Windows 7 operating system (32-bit, I think) on my HP Pavilion dv6700 with product number KN947UA #ABA on Monday. I could download all the usual stuff - Cleaner Windows, VLC Player, etc - but when it came to install a sound driver, the device will be not simply to accept the installation of the program, I downloaded.

I remember well, I have this problem when I started to install Windows 7 on my laptop; I was able to download and install a RealTek program - I didn't know what version it was, but he just ran without a hitch on the laptop.

I know I'm not the only one who has this problem here; Please believe me when I say that I already tried some two or three links here that are supposed to install the required audio driver for a Windows 7 compatible HP Pavilion dv6700, but, to my regret, no just programs will not be recognized by my camera. I do not foresee even write a post here, but it seemed to have no choice in the matter more - wrong I need help.

I would be very grateful for any suggestion, you guys can throw my way. Thank you!

OK... you're indeed a Realtek HD audio chip to your laptop.

Accept the agreement and download the first driver listed.

  • Pavilion Notebook with windows 8.1: burning problem of the photos on a CD

On my old computer, it was easy to burn photos to a CD - R. I tried to do it on the Pavilion laptop with windows 8.1 but without success. Try with the office, the message says "windows can't burn to the current disc. Please insert a writable disc in driver E. " But I've been using a disc that worked on the old computer. When I tried it through Media Player, it didn't just start burning once I inserted the disc and no progress has been demonstrated. When I checked the properties of the E drive it showed there's nothing on the disc.

    Hi MMM55,

If she did not work with Cyberlink so let's try another method. It is possible to burn without using software as if you were in the first place. I've included some tutorials and I think choose USB option is what caused this problem for you. Here's a YouTube video on how to burn a CD and the same thing but in steps written here.

    Thank you

    Hello

What follows is certainly not what you wanted to hear, but it is frank and honest.

There is no support for Windows 7 on your laptop. If you were able to get to the top and running, so you were lucky.

The only provided HP drivers and applications that are available for your laptop are for Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista.

You can try to install the Coolsense driver in compatibility mode, but there is absolutely no guarantee that it will work.

Just as it says on the download page of Coolsense, "this feature is available on mobile phones supported running a supported operating system." Unfortunately, your laptop is not grave in either categeory.

    Best regards

  • HP does a 3' rd gen I7 Pavilion Elite with an SSD?

I'm in Ottawa, the Canada. In the past, I bought a few boxes of HP and TouchSmarts and have been very happy with them.

I need to go out as soon as possible and buy another box, so I can put the RTM version to win 8 on it and and then make some tests with version beta of Office 2013.

I hope to use it on the road as a replacement for my main machine current (HP Pavilion Elite with a first gen i7 purchased in 2009).

Are there any Pavilion elite high performance (or other models) that come with both a 256 GB SSD and a large hard drive?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Review the ENVY 17 t-3000 3D series.  There are a few interesting hard drive and SSD combinations.

As Banhiem has mentioned above, the DV7-7000 is a great laptop.  I use one.
