HP Pavilion P7-1534: Pavilion P7-1534 won't drive or CD boot

Hello!  I have a desktop HP Pavilion P7-1534 Windows 8.1 running with all the updates, also running ZoneAlarm and Norton Internet Security (basically only running Norton AntiVirus).  The computer started recently do not start.  Here, I was able to start fan (s) and what appeared to be the hard drive turns to the top and make a kind of movement of the head, but nothing else.   I've forced a stop down and then press the power button again, if often starts very well.  A few times, it took more than one attempt.   I backed up my system.

Once the system booted successfully, it doesn't sem to be any problem to launch system - reading and writing to disk, running the software.  For me, that doesn't sound like a record hard problem, but I didn't know what my options were to solve the problem.  Replace the drive would be expensive (1 terabyte disk), especially if the drive is not the problem.  For my TI could be the motherboard or something having to do with UEFI (if this is the current "BIOS").

I decided to leave the computer and no restart and was able to do as well.  Then the cursor changed to a few strange characters - looks like a corrupted icon, so I tried to restart, and that failed.

Now, the system does not boot at all.  I powered down and back up repeatedly without success.  I don't seem to be able to start in the UEFI, if possible, even that s.  I tried to boot into a DVD with the Norton Bootable Recovery Tool, but without success, either.  I opened the case and reconnect the cable from the drive to the drive and the motherboard.  Couldn't think of anything else to try.

Any ideas?  Thank you very much.

Nuccii, I apologize for the delay in answering.  After your last suggestion, I asked the help of a friend with techies.  He was able to verify that the food was good, memory was good, and the disc was good.  He was trying to see if he had access to a system in which he could try my processor.  He couldn't, but it took four weeks for him to get back to me!  I get to ask a busy friend who is probably receive queries from others, and who has a life.

At that point, it seemed that the main possibilities were the CPU or the motherboard.  Because when I was (barely) able to start before starting failed completely, the system ran very well once he had started.  I decided to take the risk and bought a mother Board of the same type that I had in my system.  (First time I replaced a motherboard, but I went slowly NS with care, have watched some relevant videos and made sure to mark where each connector went down).  The result is that the system is running.

Thank you for your support and suggestions.  God bless you!

  • HP Pavilion dv7t 3300: replacing hard drive SSD with the recovery DVD

My Pavilion dv7t3300 has two hard drives... A SATA 500 GB of data and an SSD 128 GB containing the operating system and other programs.   The SSD drive that contains the operating system failed.  When I install the replacement SSD, I intend to use the HP System recovery DVD (2) which came with the unit.  If I load the recovery disks will be erase/format all my data-files in the 500 GB drive.

    The new drive is "naked".

    Thank you for your help

    Tim

I just remove the second disk while making the recovery operation and slap it in when the process is complete. Better safe than sorry. Theoretically, the recovery disks will not affect the second drive, but it's really easy to be sure that they will not be 100%.

  • Pavilion N5415 notebook replacement hard drive

I have an older Pavilion N5415 Notebook and hard drive died. HP no longer wears the replacements I can order online. The old drive is an IBM & reg Travelstar 4200 RPM 10 GB, ATA/IDE, 2.5 "x 9.5 mm. I need to know what I can safely replace this drive with." I found one on amazon.com with the following specifications and I need to know if it will work:

    • Hitachi Travelstar 4 K 120 HTS421280H9AT00 80 GB portable hard drive
    • Buffer 8 MB spindle speed 80 GB storage capacity IDE UDMA/100 4200 RPM interface
    • 7.1 ms average latency average 11 ms read seek time format 2.5 inch 9.5 mm drive height factor

What other specs do I need to be concerned in addition to rpm and physical size?

    Thank you!

32 GB is only a problem on some old computers... no need to worry. Once you have passed this barrier the next barrier is 137 gigs which does nothing more than 120 concerts can be used. I don't know the N5415 will be executed against this barrier. So whatever it is a disk of 120 Go up is ok and not better or worse than a smaller drive. Indeed, young readers tend to be older design, which means that they are running more hot and use more power.

  • Pavilion dv6: laptop won't restart after restoration

Recently, a friend gave me his old laptop HP Pavilion. I thought I would do a factory reset top, just to clean and start over. However, I can't start after having done a system restore on it. It gets to the screen that says "Install the software", and sticks. I literally let him set for almost 4 hours, trying to give him enough time to do everything he needs to do. Finally, I gave up. Is there a way I can get to start, or at least do it install just Windows 7 without all this extra software? I can get it to boot in safe mode, but whenever I just let it boot normally, it goes back to the same window to install the software again. Help, please!

  • Pavilion DV9008DR Nvidia coprocessor SMU driver won't load

After finding drivers almost everywhere, I met several for the 340 Nvidia nForce / GeForce 6150.  Some are for Vista (from HP), a set for Win7/Vista from Nvidia itself.  All have one thing in common.  The 'coprocessor' remains 'driverless' after the Nvidia installer is done.

Looking at the PCI device ID, is seller 0x10DE (NVidia) device x 0271 coprocessor (nForce System Management Controller).

The driver load without difficulty in XP, but the updated driver won't Win8.

A thought has this load manually through Control Panel Device tool as an update of the driver selected with its .inf file.

It is a driver that this continues to be a complete installation.  If it will not charge, what will be missing.

    Dan-

I do not quite know compatibility mode, but I've done the following with the NVidia 15.49_nforce_winvista_win7_32bit_international_whql.exe driver package that is very similar to sp36079.exe

    1. launch the .exe.  As before, it loaded everything except the NVidia coprocessor driver.

    2. went to the Control Panel Device Manager

3 find the coprocessor and went to properties-> Driver-> update driver.

    4. browse for the file SMU in the .exe 'burst' (including the .inf, .cat, .sys, etc.

    5A accepted.

    6. received the message that this driver installed.

    7. looked in Systedm devices and found nVidia nForce PCI System Management.

8 looked the driver version and found it wasn't NVidia, but Microsoft, Date of 06/21/2006 driver Version 6.2.9200.16384

If something happened, but no idea what it means.  (maybe the driver was already there, but need to Win8 "inviting them to find it?)

  • HP Pavilion DV5-1002NR won't start...

Recently during the game Team Fortress 2, my laptop off automatically (as a precaution-i security CPU guess was too hot?)

and I've waited a long time to turn it back on... and it does not light. The only thing that flashes (while running on battery)

is the Flash LED flashes 3 times whenever I press the power button.

Something more strange is that my phone accepts not as costs of a/c (ie the led is connected a/c)

My fear is that I bricked the machine, which is unfortunate because I have lots of photos on the hard drive, as well as some of

    my important projects for school...

    Any help would be nice...

It is strange to have DV5-1002NR in the States? given that NR appears as a code for the Netherlands

Additional info: portable is almost 3 years since I bought and recently replaced screen and fix a problem of screen graphics blurred.

    HARD RESET does nothing...

Unfortunately, im always on the same boat, but with a bigger hole in it... My laptop won't even accept a Charge of a/c let alone boot up... the thing is, I can't tell if its still be saved or he did himself brick?

Try a new power adapter.  If there is no light when it's plugged in, it is not powered (this is why the lights flash - the battery is dead).  If a new power adapter does not work then there is a problem with the jack card or feeding system.

I've updated the BIOS and driver software but could not solve this problem. It is used to run and operate perfectly. Help, please!

Problem solved! A loose chip (graphics card) has been the cause of all the problems. My laptop works as fine as ever. It was also the problem of previous versions of the laptop dv6/7. So, you just need to check if the graphics chip is loose. If so, welding, it will allow to solve! Good luck!!

  • After going into sleep mode after automatic update of Windows 7, Pavilion p6210y PC won't sleep

In two weeks, after an update of HP launched automatically, my monitor is not recognized - I tried to restart my PC via the power button, but the action brought everything back without interruption to the place.  Finally I made the necessary update HP closed down and all was back to normal.  Last night I made a full stop and a Windows 7 launched updates (do not turn off your computer, etc..).  This morning when I powered back upward, I got messages on the windows during Setup, etc, then everything returned normally.  I worked for a few hours and left the machine - it entered into mode 'sleep' and now I can't get out of fashion "Eve".  If I power cycle the monitor, I can messages same "cannot detect.  If I try to shut down the PC via the power button, the light is orange/sleep, I hear a humming, then seeing if off, then back to orange/snoring, reverse, etc..  Keeps the bike like this.  I'm afraid that question a couple of weeks may have been a sign of early warning of a problem of h/w, but am not sure.  Can anyone help?  I am not very savvy h/w... and hope that it is something more simple than that.  The PC is 2.5 years.

Your need to deactivate "standby" as soon as POSSIBLE to determine what is happening. You have 2 numbers because your motherboard is the infamous M2N78 - LA.

That hum maybe the CPU fan:http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-Desktop-PC-questions/To-all-with-M2N78-LA-CPU-fan-constantly-changing-speed/td-p/704265

The other issue is more complex. Overheating the Nvidia chip. This chip share logic and circuits with the SATA hard drive controller and the graphics port. http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-hardware/m8530f-desktop-PC-with-a-M2N78-la-mother-board-doesn-t-see-my/TD-p/181716

Your need to read each section and each answer. I suggest you save and move forward with all the measures that you feel is of advantage.

  • Pavilion DV2500: my HP pavilion DV2500 laptop won't turn on but displays an indication that his load

Hi, please I really need help on my laptop. I try to turn on but the switch does not work, but it shows only the only blue light which indicates that its charge every time that I plug. I really don't know what could be wrong, but its really sad because I have a lot of important things on this PC, I need an immediate answer on what it takes to this topic please

You mean you can get a new motherboard? Yes, but all motherboards AMD for this series have problems. They are not news so all of them were made at the same time and are subject to the same problems. It is now quite obsolete. A new motherboard will cost perhaps $135. There are services on the internet that will repair the motherboard for as little as $50 if you can remove it and ship just the motherboard. You could get another year or so out of it, if you do this. Personally, I would say computers laptops have come a long way since 2009 when your was carried out and for about $500, you can get good news. I can't really predict exactly what laptop model will suffer no problems on the road. In General, if you want more reliability then think on one of the business models, but you look at closer to $1,000 for one of those.

    Post back with more questions.

  • HP Pavilion s5704y: s5704y won't start, help

A friend has a s5704y and she said that she does not start. Went and I sterted it and got the blue screen of HP and he died with the monitor not saying no signal.

I replaced the CR2032 on the MB, because I saw that a dead battery will cause a no boot. At first startup, I got the blue screen then the back style info about type MB and available ram... etc then he went went beck to no signal.

On other restarts it happens to the blue HP screen and then go to no signal.

I have a hunch that it is feeding. I want to order one for her, unless it is necessary.

Can anyone confirm or give suggestions on what it might be?

I checked all connections and were ok.

    Thank you

    JBL

I brought her home computer and put it on another monitor. No change in the condition.

I run it with the side and these are comments:

On startup, I get the blue HP screen with start-up in SF and how to enter the bios. Screen turns off but the monitor status indicator (power button on the monitor initiative) stays green for about 3 seconds. He will then go yellow for less than a second and then show me the blue screen of the HP. This goes on and on.

The off side, the block of power SUPPLY, CPU and case fan all run. The led on the back of the PSU remains a steady green whenever I have the power cord is plugged.

In the bios, I have restored the default settings and did see that the HD and the CD-rom are recognized by the bios.

    F9 all past and ran.

It seems there is no power to the hd.

I tried to boot from a cd of back by changing the boot order of thet. I got something on the setting of the battery. and then asked if I wanted to boot from the hd and run win 7. I said yes and got the recovery screen of windows with the option of safe mode, safe mode with network down to operate normally. I chose normally and it started.

A reboot and then a cold start and it starts fine.

Don't know what it was that he hung to the top but it is now working well.

The only things I did were reset in the bios by default, change the boot order.

Any idea of what was in error for later use?

    Thank you
