  • Photosmart C4780 "cannot find the wireless router.

OK so apparently I'm not as tech savvy as I like to think of myself. I just got a used C4780 and spent 12 hours trying to figure how to set up so that I can print wireless. I had zero luck with that.

I read that the WPS connection method is more easy then I tried that first. After a few failed attempts, I tried to download the software for Windows 8 (as the disc that comes with it only goes to to Windows 7). I got the same error message 4 times (something Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error), so I then tried the method of the PIN code. After several settings (with the help of my brother on the phone, so I don't really remember what I did unfortunately) just as many failures to connect and I gave up this process.  I printed the 'Network Configuration' Page and the 'wireless network Test report", but I don't have much of a clue as to what it now means. I don't understand what I am doing wrong or what I could do different. The thing that really stumps me, is that the test report said that the printer can't find my router, but at the bottom of the Configuration Page, it lists my wireless network...

    USEFUL/IMPORTANT INFO:

    -HP Photosmart C4780

    -Lenovo all-in-One 8.1 Windows 64 bit

-router made by ARRIS and provided by my ISP (CableONE)

-J' installed all the updates that are available for Windows

-J' restarted the printer, computer, router AND several times

-my wireless router is in another room, but not more than perhaps 20 feet away

Side note: I have also a mini iPad... just throw it out there in case it might be a better tool to put up with... If you need to know something more to help me let me know! Thank you for cause in advance that I'm going stir crazy trying to figure this!

    JanessaMarie92 wrote:
I went on the website of my ISP and discovered that I can't get a new router because of this little note...

"Cable telephone Service is supported only on Arris modems rented your office of a cable or bought by http://yourbroadbandstore.com/solutions/cableone/."

Copy + paste directly from their Web site.

It's OK... you're using their product.  they can always put the Bridge mode.  Call them and tell them that you want to use your OWN router and they put it in Bridge mode.

EDIT - Bridge mode just turns off the router part and use it as a modem only.

  • Photosmart C4780 wireless do not print wireless

The basics - old iMac dual core, new Macbook (both with Snow Lepoard 10.6.1,) relatively new Airport Extreme, new printer 'Wireless' Photosmart C4780.

Installation/set up progresses to a point, then I get the message "network unavailable. The selected WiFi network is not in range of the aircraft. "The 'device' the C4780 sits 3 feet between the router and showing the strength of the signal higher of all networks in the region.  [BTW - the new Macbook would work wireless from time to time until people e-mail tech support HP's suggestion, I have made an adjustment to the configuration of the router.  Now it works again even if the router settings are returned to their default value.  When you attempt to print wireless from a computer, the printer says it is offline.  I talked to Apple support and they advise that if I can get the IP number of the HP printer, I should be able to configure the printers to work.  HP technical support 'Chat', explains the IP number is assigned by the router.  I've given up o HP Webcam live tech support after being on hold for over a half hour, twice.  HP support 'Chat' is almost exclusively oriented Windows and they send me to technical support of HP "e-mail", which sends an email per day reiterating I already took action.  Sorry for the rant, but this forum is my last hope.  Can someone help me? What can I do to get this working?

Have you deleted and added the printer in the print queue? Let's try it:

    -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
-Select the printer in question and click the sign less down the list
-Select the sign and add it again.

If this does not work, do the same thing, only instead of the second stage, right (control), click the box of the print queue and select Reset Printing System.

  • HP Photosmart 5520: cannot find the printer

Until last night I only had intermittent problems, using the scan on HP Photosmart 5520 function.  Then all of a sudden not analyze or print work - message there.  MacAir displays the RED DOT printer offline, by default.  The printer has remained non-connected.  I restarted MacAir.  I have turned off HP 5520, unplugged the wire to plug in a normal machine (of an extension of protection against overvoltages).  On reboot I have always run.  I then tried wireless live - without success.  Then, I removed the 5520 HP of the MacAir intending to reinstall.  To attempt to reinstall Mac Air is unable to find a printer.  The HP 5520 wireless network test results show no problem.

    Please notify.

    Problem solved.

I turned Mac Air, printer and router off and restarts.  It worked.  The problem was the router!

You will not find a download link for the HP Solution Center software as part of the full software solution features of your printer.

Install HP Solution Center with the full Windows software feature of the HP Web site, or use the Printer Wizard.

  • C4780 - error in the printing system

C4780 worked without incident for months until recently - now I find randomly in status 'offline '.  Today has been visited by "error in the printing system.  Any ideas?  I already deleted the printer and the software which then does a re - install using the downloaded software from the HP site (can't locate the original install CD).

OK, I'll assume that this printer is connected wireless to your router.  I would like to know if it's USB to your PC.

First of all, don't use WEP.  It is not safe and can cause connection problems.  Use WPA with a password of 13 + character that you create yourself!  Much easier and safer.

From the front of the printer: [Scan] Setup > network > wireless network Test.  It will be radio of the printer self-test.

When the printer is offline, run this utility.  It will tell you what is happening.

  • HP Photosmart B109: cannot connect the printer to the wireless network

I have some setting wrong my printer for wireless printing. It has worked well in the past, but with my new macbook air - this isn't.

I can't access the function where to add the printer to the wireless network (my router does not support WPS so his password WPA).

I remember setting this up on a PC - easy with the driver provided by HP, but on the Mac, the configuration tool does not appear to be a function where I add the printer to the wireless network - and HP did not provide a driver, because it is supposed to work with the mac built-in software.

The manual says only: "follow the instructions on the screen", but the printer does not have instructions on how to connect - on-screen tests, only that it is connected...

Anyone who knows how to add the printer to a wireless network?

    Hello @Joahkim!

    Welcome to the HP community!

I understand that you have a problem to set up all-in-one printer wireless HP Photosmart (B109n) with your new MacBook Air OS x 10.10. I want to help you with this.

Have you changed your router or your password since the MacBook Air? If this is not the case, your printer can still be connected to the network and the trickiest part of that place will be done for us already.

We will print a Network Configuration report to see if it is connected:

    • On the Control Panel, press the button next to Scan. The Scan/Wireless menu.
  • HP Photosmart C4780: Photosmart C4780 stuck on the HP logo indefinitely

I use this printer for years and it has worked perfectly so far. I recently updated my router and when you try to connect the printer to the new network I had nothing else to headaches. Initially, I tried to use WPS as my routher and the printer supports the feature, but the connection could never be established. When I tried to manually connect the printer to my new router, the touchscreen is found on the HP logo with the blue bar at the bottom. I left it plugged for hours, without change. I unplugged and waited before reconnecting, without change. I tried to install the drivers on my PC and I can print now but only via USB - I can't print wireless, and I can't use the scanner. When I try to 'add a new device,' if I select USB connection it tells me that it cannot communicate with the printer despite being connected. If I select Wi - Fi it can't find my wifi network, despite a strong signal to other devices in the same room.

I read lots of old messages on these forums about the issue and this looks like a firmware update was provided a few years ago that was supposed to solve this problem. However, only available for this article downloads are a suite of driver that I uninstalled and reinstalled several times on multiple computers.

I also read that have a SSID 6 characters could be problematic for this printer. When I first attempted to connect, my SSID was actually 6 characters. I've changed since it is much longer, but it seems, in what concerns this bug in particular, the damage is done.

Information about a factory reset or another way to get the printer at least past the HP logo, so I can access its settings would be very appreciated.

    Hello @uptheaffiliates,

I see that you have made the necessary troubleshooting already nothing helps. You're right about the firmware update, it is one, but curiously, it is not listed under Windows 10. I found the update in Windows 7 and am not sure it will work for you but encourage you to try this:

This update will help prevent and recover a unit of a front panel does not respond when connected via radio or after running low on ink.

  • HP Photosmart C4780 let me clean print heads

I have already contacted HP support and they help me because my warranty expired, instead, they tried to sell me a new printer. Yes, good... It was free, I do not. However, my problem started about two weeks ago. I noticed my lighter colors (i.e. violet, green... etc) were dragged horizontally and I did not quite understand why. I advanced and went into the HP utility and tried to "clean the print heads" and he told me that he cannot complete this process and contact HP support. Instead, I replaced the color and black ink cartridges and tried to print again, still, nothing works. I tried the "clean printhead" option after the doing, and once, he said the process has failed and to contact HP support.

Seeing how the conversation from HP support went up peachy, I thought that to enter a forum to ask for help. This printer comes for free with my Macbook and I'm sure a lot of people have this printer as well. Maybe can someone help? I would be very happy. I rely on this printer very often to print clear images for my craft. It prints very clear images and I was really pleased with her despite his tantrums spurratic Pépin. I'd be very happy with the help I can get or notice, otherwise, I guess I'll just get a new .

    Thank you kindly,

    Tina

OK, I'm going to assume that you have the HP software incorrectly installed from the CD supplied with the printer was not intended to 10.6.

We will uninstall the software by using the "scrubber":

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
    Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard at the same time as you click on uninstall< this="" is="" the="" scrubber="" option,="" there="" is="" no="" button="" labeled="">
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click on continue and let it finish

    Restart your Mac

    Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907

    Now reset the printing system:

    -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
-Right (control) click inside the box that lists your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!

Finally, download and install the latest version of the software for your printer from here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-70896-3&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=219&product=3794615&sw_lang=

  • How align you the print on a HP CP1518ni cartridges? Running Mac OS 10.6.8.

I have a HP Color LaserJet CP1518ni.  Clearly, the magenta cartridge is printing out of alignment, based on the results displayed on the Diagnostics page I printed.  I am on Mac OS 10.6.8 and cannot find anywhere how to align the cartridges of printers.  How can I solve this problem?

Okay, sorry, I don't have my CP1518 with me to test.

You could remove all the toner cartridges, reinsert and see if it an alignment.
