HP Pro (beep!) on initialize to top

I had a new PC stored there for 4 years who works in Windows 7. It's a Pro of HP 3010MT.

I just started using my old PC motherboard XP Dell finally gave up.

Immediately turned, this new (ahem!) PC wouldn't start and rather gave 1 second long beep followed by a long second three. After about half an hour, I managed to get the thing to start and it was working well for about a week. Then I left for a day without it turning on and then had the same problem.

I understand the (a long beep followed short tone) denotes a problem with memory, although I do not know what?

As it has been sitting for so long, I was wondering if:

1. some of the capacitors inside have fallen in capacitive value, need to reform or may need to be replaced?

2. the question of if the contacts on the removable RAM which I think has need of a 3gigs inside cleaning?

3. the question whether the contacts on the RAM sockets may need cleaning.

4. is there a memory backup battery which is perhaps the issue here?

Any help would be great with this one.

Thank you very much.

Robbo.

  • Satellite Pro 6000 - horizontal line on top

I have a problem with my toshiba Pro 6000 1.2 Ghz, since I installed the new bios or new drivers windows Toshiba video.

In fact only 6000 has a screen of 15-inch (and not the 14-inch), and when I start it up I see everything, but with a horizontal line at the top of the screen (which change color, can be white with text mode, being black or blue under windows, etc.). The text screen is pressed by about 2 cm from the edge in text mode (during booting, for example.) Red logo Toshiba at the beginning).

It seems that the Bios (or pilots, but I do not think because that's also how during startup) does not correctly handle screen 15 inch laptop computer. I installed the version 1.60 of the Bios. I don't remember the version I was using before.

If I install a 14 inch screen, I don't have the line and I don't have the text squeezed by 2 cm from the top screen.

According to me, but I'm not sure that the problem is not hardware, but more by a software problem (I hope).

    Thank you in advance.

go to safe mode and prepare your computer for clean boot by typing msconfig in the search box on the start menu and press to enter. Disable all startup items and nothingness serivces of windows, and then restart in normal mode see if solves the problem? If that were the case then you're done, go back and re-enable those that you previously disabled to see that you caused the problem?

If she did not, then in safe mode, go to Device Manager and check if your drivers are working properly, no sign of danger on them, if there was trying to uninstall or update to resolve the problem then restarts.

Make sure that you are looking for spyware and viruses too. Spyware use Advanced System Protector of systweak or any other good ones. for the virus use avast.

Thank you amiroof. The suggestion of rebotting after disabling services positions and no windows startup has not fixed the problem. I also checked the Device Manager and everything seems good.  I am running a full scan antivirus added to the sequence of malwarebytes, I did. Waiting on the scan ends.

good good, after that it also check for spyware, so if it does not solve the problem, do a system restore or last known good configuration

    by the recovery startup repair,
scannow sfc System File Checker run through cmd
    check the drive for errors
    try to update your drivers
Take a look at the event logs in the Panel through information on the performance and the issue then advanced tool to see if there is no startup event, poster or it can help you to solve the problem.
If all above do not work them, try to update your bios or recover your entire system and in turn if it did not work then it is a hardware issue!

  • MacBook Pro will not initialize. Question Mark flashing folder

-Macbook Pro 13 "Unibody model 2009

    Hi guys,.

I have been a frequent visitor to the community of support here, but I'm a poster for the first time, so please forgive any lack of post I suffer from the label. I saw this problem here much and seem me to always see the same advice to fix, but I have never seen anyone who treat the same symptoms I had with my camera.

My question all started when I tried to save something for the reader, and he said to me "you are not allowed to save this destination" (something to that effect). Then it progressed to a question on my Macbook to spontaneous freezing. It would freeze just constantly and I always have to force offshore. When I would try to start the machine up, it's always 50-50 chance that it should start successfully, often welcomed by the famous question mark flashing folder. I constantly by visiting an Apple store for the last year and a half on this topic and after countless visits, they insist that there is no problem that they can find. They always say down to "permission error", problems of BONE that have been resolved by resettlement and a faulty hard drive. I've dealt with them during this period and and still have this machine properly repaired on any occasion. The problem persists always just after I take the machine home and start right away, its still there.

As time went on this issue, I noticed that the machine would often freezing when moved, for example moved a table at my knees etc. This has some time until that I have raised to clean the table under one day and then tried to do turn on and nothing. The machine refused to start, only to give me the question mark flashing folder. I tried to boot into recovery mode by using CMD - R and tried to reinstall the OSX, I read that it is a common solution, but whenever I start recovery mode "Macintosh HD" is not where. So I can't even try a reinstall of OSX.

A man IT in my former work place had examined this issue before on another machine, and he said he had replaced the cable of HDD of the machines as the previous was damaged. When toggled, he said that the machine was working fine. It would be logical, as if the cable is already damaged and loose, I'm sure that the movement might just disconnect. I raise this issue because it is of NEVER once offered all the time, I in dealing with this issue and on further investigation in the apple forums and this seems to be a very common problem.

This appeared on a boot up once and never since.

And that's what I see at every boot up to now.

I'm sorry to bombard all the world with so much information on this subject, but my frustration is quickly turning into madness on this issue, which have no one at Apple after countless visits being able to fix the problem. As it is the main culprit for me, the HARD disk cable, but I would not assume know better that some of you have known many more people.

Any information or help that guys could pass my way would be greatly appreciated I was apparently no help from Apple repair personnel. If you have read and thought about all this I applaud you and owe you a drink at the mercy.

    Hi Yogi Wynne:

I agree with your friend IT. Looks like the SATA hard drive cable has problems.

The inside of your computer is not as smooth on the outside and rubs it hard against the SATA cable and can cause one of the traces in the short cable is causing hard drive problems.

Here's where you can get a replacement cable, they are very fragile. https://www.iFixit.com/store/Mac/MacBook-Pro-13-inch-unibody-mid-2009-mid-2010-H ard-car-Cable/IF163-013-1

Here's a video that shows what could happen. https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=Amg5w0rlwDo

I might change the SATA cable and see if the problem persists.

  • Windows Live Mail - starts OK on initialize to top every day but disappears later in the day.

Running Windows Vista Home (Service Pack 2).  Using Windows Live Mail.

Normal daily start up, once online I have no problem running Live Mail.  I check for emails, and once completed, I normally have to close the program.  Later in the day, when I want to check for other emails, even once is not a problem.

However and on a random basis, there comes a time when I try to load Live Mail but it does not load.  Initially, the hourglass turns on and the light disc shows some activity, but Live Mail starts it.

If I do a Ctrl + Alt + Delete to check what programs are running, it shows Live Mail.

The only resolution I've found is to re - start the PC.  The model then rehearsals sometimes, but not always.

    Clues or fixes out there?

The next time you check the status in the Task Manager, when you find Windows Live Mail click the switch button to see if that move you to the program and he opened for you.

If it does not, in the Task Manager and then click Windows Live Mail and click on end task this is confirmed.  Once he is gone (give it some time), open another window, and then try to connect again.  It cannot solve the problem, but it's better than the re-start (if it works).

I would like to know if one of these workarounds help solutions.

If not, please transfer your question in Forum Windows Live Mail to: http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop where experts in this program will be happy to help you.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600: print the page top

When I print the forms on the internet - in this case a specific Web site - printing cost overruns the right margin of the page, so I see all of the form that is being printed.  Last year when I printed this form, it fits on the page very well.  Same computer, same printer

This happens on a number of sites that I deal with, so I don't think that there is a problem with the site, I think it's a problem with the installation of the printer, but I have no idea what could be the cause of the problem.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Hey @Monajo,

Thanks for getting back to me regarding this printing problem.

Now that we have isolated the problem to a problem of Mozilla Firefox, we can work toward a resolution. To begin troubleshooting I have you check the page scaling settings within Firefox. Please follow the steps below.

    1. open a Web site that you want to print from Mozilla Firefox

    2. click on the Firefox Menu option and select print

    3. you will now see a print preview of what will Mozilla Firefox 'send' for your printer to print. Click Page layout on the top

    4. in the Page layout dialog box, you can select the 'reduced to fit page width"or"scale"option If this is not the case try first "Reduced to fit Page Width" option. If it is already selected, choose the scale option. You can play with the scale. For example, I adjusted my scale to 20%. When I hit OK, the print preview window shows the document to print as tiny. That's what your printer will print. If it is too small, you can click the Page Setup button again and adjust the scale until you find a scale that displays the preview before print correctly.

    5. press print once you make all necessary settings.

Don't forget, your printer will print than it is "said" to print through the preview window before printing.

Please let me know if the setting of the "Shrink to the width of the Page" or "Scale" options fix this problem for you. Good luck!

  • Problem with heat on initialize to top with Satellite M40

    Hello group,

I have a question, when my laptop Satellite M40 warm up and I tried to restart the display changes to 2/3 and lock-up. Then I have to press the power button to stop the process and expect that the laptop cools a bit. I have them push the button power and Windows works fine. What is happening and what should be replaced or added software.

    Kind regards
    DJ

    Hello

I'm not a technician but I can say with certainty that described issue has nothing to do with the software and may not be resolved this way. Problem described is certainly caused by the material. It may be the graphics card itself or a faulty capacitor on the motherboard.

Technician sorry but only help you and give an exact explanation. All this can be tested with special diagnostic tools.
