HP Probook 4710 s sky wireless

I have a brand new HP Probook s 4710 with Windows 7 Professional to work on Friday.

Works wirelessly to the office okay.

Home - have a sky Netgear (think it of a DG843T but not marked and can't see model in the admin page)

My Iphone works wireless on this device, like a Nintendo Wii.

I connect to my WIFI, HP shows connection but never get there. Comes right back as unable to connect.

I check the settings of the adapter on HP - a noted that the that WLAN broadcast set to channel 11 and router on 1 changed wlan to match - still does not.

Then tried to set security to

WEP/WPA Pre Shared Key without joy - I was copying the key in a text file then don't transfer via a USB key so no typos.

Even then I disabled the security on the wireless router and laptop computer still does not connect.

All device drivers are present and functioning.

Anyone who has experienced a similar problem or have some pointers?

Thank you

Panic-had another Cup of coffee.

Drivers downloaded again to ensure that the vouchers have been installed (wasn't me that installation OS & drivers so couldn't be 100%)

Set up a connection manually instead of plug and it connected OK? This yesterday, but maybe not to use a WEP 128 bit key, as tried many combinations of things.

Please consider closed topic - can't see a way to remove just the job...

Thank you

    Hi @LukeBurton ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your mouse on your Probook 4710 and uninstall the driver of the Synaptics TouchPad. He would not stop anything if you uninstalled and then restarted the laptop. Here is a link to your drivers.

  • ProBook 4710 overheating

I just pulled this out of the closet after the purchase of a Tablet - update of current patches - noticed after the update that the laptop was closed (I leave on through weekend for easy use). I didn't pay any attention to the closure, thought it was normal.

Last night after I left the laptop on all day, I opened the screen, touch the mouse and it stops. I felt the laptop and the lower left corner was so hot that we couldn't touch. I jumped it in the fridge (yes I did and it started up without any apparent problem.) I love this laptop (listed in the notes below) and will be a pleasure but a cooler it is this necessary? Is something else wrong, that I don't know? I have always noticed that this model was hot - but geez - he gets blistering hot when left for a long time.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Hello compenthusiast,

    Your computer is overheating.

It could be that the system needs to be updated or that the fan may not be spinning or that there is a build-up of dust in the system.

Here is a link that will help reduce the heat inside the system.

    Do a hard reset.
    Turn off the computer.
Remove the power cable and battery.
Hold down the power button for 15 sec while booth energy sources are deleted.

This should reset the hardware in the computer.

That you put it on press the F10 key. This will load the BIOS setup utility.
Press F9 to load the default values.
Press F10 to save and exit.

When the computer starts up, check if everything is working.

I would like to know how everything goes.

    Nice day.

  • HP ProBook s 4710: Bluetooth missing on HP ProBook 4710 s (Windows 7 64-bit) - Intel WiFi - Link 5100 AGN

    Hello

    I have a strange problem:

I have two HP ProBook s 4710 here in front of me. The two "seems" to have the same hardware inside (I don't see any difference on the stickers in the back).

I have install both of them with the same USB with Windows 7N 64-bit.

After the installation is complete (no additional driver installed).

    the first bluetooth ProBook has

the second bluetooth ProBook has NO!

I checked the BIOS, every two active a bluetooth settings on both.

    WLAN works on both.

On the first s I can also install the bluetooth drivers latest, on the second, I can't. Always the message occurred ("no device was detected. Make sure that... »).

Device Manager indicates, the two ProBooks Intel WiFi - Link 5100 AGN, the first s also Bluetooth-device listed, the second of not.

What the hell is going on here?

    Hello:

It is very strange because the HP Wireless Assistant software is registered directly on the support page and driver 4710 under the solutions section.

If this is the case, try the latest HP Connection Manager software which does the same thing the software assistant wireless.

Here's the theory behind your dilemma (except radio BT died).

This laptop once had the connection manager (since the software assistant Wireless does not) installed, and you can use this software to individually disable bluetooth or devices rather than using the wireless button wireless.

I guess that for example, turn off the stereo bluetooth with the connection manager to save a small amount of battery power, which increases the time before having to recharge the battery.  But you can still use the wireless.

The hardware button turns both off the coast.

    The big problem is...

If none of these devices are turned off by the wireless assistant or the connection manager software and that you reinstall the operating system or to update or other, wireless or bluetooth devices do not appear in the Manager of devices as if they are dead or don't exist.

And what makes this more puzzled, is that if you check the BIOS, you will see that they are present and active!

The only way to make them work again, is to turn them on by using the Deputy Director or the wireless connection software.

This is why it is absolutely essential to ensure that these devices have been turned on before you reinstall the operating system.

For those people that upgrading to W10, none of these programs work on W10, so if the BT has been disabled, the user must return to W7, activate the bluetooth, uninstall the connection manager or the wireless assistant software, reboot, ensure that the device is always on and then upgrade to W10.

Here is the link to the software of the support page for your laptop connection manager...

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp53001-53500/sp53394.exe

If this doesn't work or the other, I suspect that the BT module does not work (all hardware failures).

  • ProBook 4710 s memory

Hello! I want to install 4 GB DDR3memory to my 4710 probook s, going to work, or I can use only DDR2?

    Hello:

Different speeds of memory (DDR, DDR2, DDR3) are all incompatible with each other. They run at different voltages.

To prevent us from frying our motherboards, they even cut the notches in the modules of memory in different places, so it is physically impossible to install a DDR3 module in a slot of DDR2 memory.

It goes the same for desktop computers.

  • Sky wireless broadband does not connect with Vista

I just changed my BT broadband to Sky.It works fine on my Mac but not connecting with my roommates PC that uses Windows Vista. After calls long with sky they said there is a problem with the DNS. I tried to call Microsoft, but they want to charge me which I am unwilling to do. I can connect to the internet on the pc with the thin Ethernet cable. In the center of network share, I have a cross between the network and the help of Internet Icon. Please as it should be sorted as soon as POSSIBLE and I cannot believe with such a company big as the sky that has thousands of customers, they say that it is a known issue and there is nothing they can do... So basically they say that anyone with Vista cannot use their wireless computers!

    Help, please...

    Hello pookieboy140,

I suggest that you start with the management of Network Diagnostics on the computer that will help you in error, like why you are not able to connect to the Internet.

You can refer the link that will give you information about this below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Network-Diagnostics-event-logs-to-solve-network-problems

Since you are not able to connect to the Internet, the best way to solve this problem is to contact your service provider.

    Thank you

  • ProBook 4710 s & ADI Soundmax driver Windows 7 64 bit

I recently installed a new hard drive in my HP Probook s 4710 and installed a new version of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

I'm unable to install the audio driver.  I downloaded the sound driver ADI SoundMax AD1984A for Microsoft Windows 7 sp45115.exe.

However, it will not be installed.  I get the error message is "the audio driver does not support your hardware.

In Device Manager, the driver is Microsoft High Definition Audio Driver 6.1.7600.16385.

Under control panel - sound playback device is Digital Audio HDMI, high definition Audio Device, not connected.  I'm unable to click set up or as a default value

When I place the mouse on the icon of audio bottom left it says that no speakers or headphones are connected.

    Sorry, that didn't work.

I have the Eltebook from HP 6930p with the same audio chip.

You will see that it listed as one of the cell phones taken in charge by the same audio driver.

I have some questions for you to see if we can get the proper functioning.

    1. When you installed first windows 7 without adding any driver, did you have audio?

I did when I installed W7. This is the version without SP1. So, I'd be a little surprised that your laptop uses the same audio chip like mine, than installed W7 without the audio work.

    2. If you have audio after installing W7, you install the following drivers in the generally recommended installation order and restart after each individual installation of the following drivers?

    This order being:

First of all, - Utility Intel Chipset Installation

    Second, - graphics

    Third, - Audio

If you answered no to this question, which might be the cause of the problem.

In this case, my recommendation would be to reinstall W7 and try again using the method described above.

  • Computer laptop "Probook 4710 s' and Windows 8

    Hello!

I have a problem with installing a new Windows 8 OS on a Virtual Machine on my laptop (model Probook s 4710). After a few hours of searching in Internet of my problem solutions, I understand I neet to activate the "NX Bit" indicator (never run) in the BIOS, but I can't find this option here. The basic setup of my laptop as follows: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T6570 2.10 GHz 3 Gb DDR. Please tell me if my phone supports this feature. If so, is it possible to turn it on? Or wait for an update of BIOS one driver for my laptop. Thanks in advance for your answer.

This feature is not available in the BIOS via the BIOS updates published for your laptop.  I have not heard of any project to make available.

  • 640 proBook G2: Problems on HP Probook G2 640 Broadcom wireless installation

    Hello

I need help please, despite the download of the driver package, and even the Windows 7 64-bit individual drivers for the Broadcom wireless I am still unable to get the unit up and running. ID of the device as a Broadcom BCM943228Z 802.11abgn WiFi adapter and although it seems to be installed the entrance of deivce Manager displays a yellow exclamation point and WiFi adapters are present in the network connections screen.

If I try to update the drivers I am be said its updated or get a update.cpp1205 error. I have 9 of them to rely on Windows 7 Professional and is the only element left to deal with.

    Hello:

    See if this driver works...

This package contains the Broadcom Wireless LAN driver and is required to activate the LAN adapter wireless Broadcom integrated in the laptop models running a supported operating system. This package also contains the Broadcom Wireless Utility and Extensions HSI application which adds support for the Extensions compatible Cisco.

  • 4540 proBook s (Energy Star): Wireless got disabled - unable to start - no WiFi or Bluetooth

My laptop worked well until one day all of a sudden the wireless got off. Switch wireless on my laptop has definitely turned amber (medium amber wireless is disabled and white wireless is enabled). Here are my comments or things that I tried in vain to solve the problem:

    1. When you press the plane mode switch gets toggled indicating that the switch is responding well but does not change the status of wireless.
    2. I checked the Device Manager and there was no sign of WIFI or Bluetooth. Then I reinstalled the drivers concerned. Still, there was no sign of WLAN & Bluetooth.
    3. Then I tried Safe Mode. Once again no sign of WIFI or Bluetooth in the Device Manager.
    4. Then I went for the Mode safe mode with networking. Once again no sign of WIFI or Bluetooth in the Device Manager.
    5. I tried disabling and activation then wireless in the start menu (F10), but still it did not work.
    6. I contacted HP Support. They took control of the remote control of my laptop and just reinstalled the drivers and told me that they could not solve the problem.

I don't know that it's more a software problem that emit materials. There was a small bit of software called HP Wireless Assistant that could replace the physical wireless switch but unfortunately I can't find a compatible version to win 8.1.

Can anyone help me please with this problem. It's terrible to use internet using Ethernet. Every day that passes is like a punishment for me. Please help me...

Have you tried reinstalling the wireless card to be sure it has a good connection? Try to run to the top once with it deleted... then stop and reinstall.

    Hello

I just bought this laptop model and still cannot figure out why the controls volume, mute or what else is there working not (the F keys). The software that is installed is probably the latest version. I tried to set the options through the software, but still nothing. I would be very greatfull if someone can help me.

    All the best,

    Dimitar aka Mortron

the F keys... you mean that F1, F2, etc. at the top?

You must press the FN key (FN means function) in the lower left corner of the keyboard should be next to the Windows key. If you hold the FN key and then push some key as F10 and should be more low volume F11 should be increase volume.
