  Your hard drive needs to be replaced. After the back if you want specific help with that. On your model, it is manageable for the end-user to do so, although not very easy. You are under warranty?

  The first symptom was a rattling noise from the factory 1 TB HARD drive, which has disappeared from the system, to be replaced by a disk of 4 GB in size. Then the fan started running at max speed.

  A few months ago, I installed a 2nd drive HARD, an SSD and use this to all the data, so the 1 TB drive HARD original was basically unused and empty. To try and stop the fan and also run the disk diagnostics failed I've removed it from the iMac. However the HARD drive fan is always full.

  I ran the Apple Hardware Test and received the error message: 4SNS/1/40000000: TH00 - 9,000

  Given the primary SATA HDD is now removed, I also set the temperature probe? Are there other fixes to this problem of fan? I didn't intend on replacing the HARD disk immediately that this is not necessary at this stage.

  Error code 24 characters for short drive Self Test (DST) would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the startup problem you describe.

  Upgrade to El Capitan on a MBAir (2010).  Upgrade failed near the end due to a problem of hard disk space.  Now stuck between choosing the language screen and the warning message upgrade and not can not go out to clear space on the hard drive.  Suggestions would be welcome.

  You are able to restart on your old system or you are unable to do so? You can start in the Recovery HD? You have a recent backup?

  If you are unable to start altogether due to lack of space, then you will be forced to erase the disk and restore of OS X from scratch.

  Reinstall El Capitan without erasing the drive

  HD recovery start: restart the computer after the ring, press on and hold down the COMMAND and R until the menu screen appears.

  Repair the hard drive and permissions: at startup, select in the main menu disk utility. Repair hard disk and permissions as follows.

  When the recovery menu appears, select disk utility and press the continue button. Disk utility charges and select Macintosh HD entry indented from the list on the left.  Click first aid button in the toolbar. Wait until the operation is complete, then quit disk utility and return to the main menu.

  Reinstall OS X: Select reinstall OS X and click on the continue button.

  Basically, your hard drive is defective and must be replaced to correct the defect, if you are still in warranty please see the link below for details HP will verify that your hard disk has failed by using the ID of the failure.

  I used the PC for studies tonight when I try to change the location so I don't have to turn it off, but I SLEEP rather it and when I started it again it wasn't work.

  It seems that the hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. You may have damaged it during the change of location if leaders were not properly parked.

  If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If this is not the case, a laptop SATA hard detail can be used. Just be sure to get a quality at least equal the original in order to use recovery disks. It may be big, but not small ability more. For example if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can use a 750 GB hard drive, but not a 320 GB hard drive.

  First try reinstalling the hard disk to be sure that it is properly connected.

  To me that sounds like it, something goes wrong in the installation of HARD drive recovery then I recommend reinstall Windows again since the middle of recovery that you created on USB or external CD/DVD drive. This can restore Windows again.

  Theoretically, it could also be a hardware problem but I would try the middle of recovery recovery facility that s my personal opinion. ;)
