If you see HP Support Assistant of uninstalling programs from the Control Panel, uninstall and reinstall from the site:

  • Should I Uninstall HP Support Assistant? If this is not the case, how to manage settings?

Hi, new and first post so I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place, I hope that someone will tell me otherwise.  Have computer laptop Pavilion G72 9 months with OS Win 7.  I was wondering if I can uninstall HP Support Assistant on it (not really computers does) so that it won't keep coming and wanting to do things - or me for them, do on the computer?  I'm not entirely sure that it's a necessary software and will occupy the space and not something there.  Would really appreciate if someone can advise on this please, thanks in advance for your help.

  • Cannot use, uninstall or reinstall HP Support Assistant

I had a crash of hard disk and reinstalled from a backup, but the restoration was not complete. Things work pretty well, but not 100%. The key is that my HP Support Assistant PC health does not work and I can't uninstall or reinstall. They are not in the list of installed programs. I get the message that there is already a version of the wizard for help on my drive, whether the download don't reinstall or update.

I have a HP Pavilion (all-in-One) MS-225 with Win7 Home Premium, 64-bit. It's a year and a half, is no longer under warranty. Is there a way out of this dilemma? Thank you!

    Frank

UPDATE: I just got the update to run, but it gave me this error message:

"HP Support Assistant Application Update / your system does not satisfy the minimum requirements for this patch." / However was cancelled. (1602).

    Arniceous,

Thank you for your response and suggestions.

After a lot of trial and error, I finally got it works as follows: first of all, I downloaded and installed the latest update for HP Update. Then I renamed the folder HP Support Assistant (didn't do any deletion again) by adding ".old" to it and retries, download and install the latest update for the wizard. This time, he worked and installed!

So at this stage my PC is OK again and back to where it was before the crash of hard/restore disk. All HP now works as it should.

I hope this can help you and others in the effort to repair that do not have HP help or a fix for.

  • HP support assistant - will launch or uninstall properly - Windows 7 Pro SP1

RE: Cannot run, HP Support Assistant can not even uninstall properly.

Have my office since 2010.  HP Support Assistant has still works perfectly.  Now when I try to run HP Support Assistant, it does not start, returning the message "an unhandled exception ('System.TypeInitializationException') occurred in HPSF.exe [6264].»

In response, I downloaded the latest version of HP Support Assistant HP website and tried to install it.  There was a problem and he asked me if I wanted to try an install using recommended settings.  I said yes, but no completion message was never presented.

Thus, by the HP troubleshooting suggestions I tried to uninstall HP Support Assistant using the dialog box uninstall Windows standard.  But, also, the operation failed with the message "Error 1316 network error occurred trying to read from C:\Windows\Installer\HP support Assistant.msi".

I tried again to install the latest version of HP Support Assistant, but once the installation wizard has started the only message he introduced the question of if I wanted to replace the existing files.  I said yes, the wizard appeared to move forward, but no completion message was never presented.

Another attempt with the dialog box uninstall Windows failed once again with the same error 1316 as before.

    So I'm puzzled.  Suggestions?

My PC: Desktop, model HP Pavilion HPE-170 t

    OS: Windows 7 Pro, SP 1, 64 - bit

The HP Web "Boot errors resolve the MSI" page (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00811375 ), I found a link to a Microsoft Web page: "The problems that the programs cannot be installed or uninstalled" (http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall?).  This Web page has a "Program install and Uninstall Troubleshooting" utility which worked like a champ to effectively solve the problems with the existing, corrupted application and uninstall it.

I am out of the Woods and happy now.

  • HP Support Solutions Framework: Framework of Solutions from HP Support - should I uninstall if I Uninstall HP Support Assistant

Our assistance service has been a great help when I posted a warning about my battery, so I took into account in my own hand - google it and installed HP Support Assistant to analyze my battery. I don't know a lot about this program, but it I helped get to the bottom of the problem and a new battery is on its way to me.

I decided to uninstall the wizard because I didn't need the most. That's when I happened to notice two other HP programs on my laptop - HP Support Solutions Framework and HP Hotkey support. These installed when I installed the HP Support Assistant? If so, I want to uninstall these, too. Are they already on my laptop, then I don't want to delete them.

    Please notify.

  • HP Support Assistant - uninstalled and reinstalled - now it does not work!

My HP Support Assistant stuck on Create Restore Point.   Well, I followed your instructions for which has been published in many other threads and uninstall HP Support Assistant and re-installed, and now it won't do anything.  It opens upward and the button FOLLOWING is not highlighted if I click it nothing happens... it's totally useless now.  What can I do to make it work again?  Help! (see image below - all I can do is minimize, maximize, or close the screen.  FORWARD button does nothing!)

My computer is only 1 year old and I run Windows 8-64 bit.  Never had a problem with it before, but tried the air upward and it got stuck about to restore, so I followed your instructions, rebooted after UN-installing and uninstall, now, it won't do anything.   I also tried to restore HP Support Assistant of the Recovery Manager and it's always the same: do nothing.  How can I get my updates now?

I have a HP Pavilion p6 2310.  I have installed Windows 8.1, it is fair to Windows 8.  Thank you.

Never mind... I fixed it myself.  I did a system restore before I uninstalled and reinstalled HP Support Assistant yesterday and now it works again!

  • 15-r014TX HP: hp support assistant stopped working

HP support Assistant has stopped working on my hp 15 laptop r014tx. After this problem I uninstall hp support assistant and download the new assistant hp support Setup and intall but problem sloved not it still does not.

I have upload a screenshot that show what happens when I open hp support assistant. There is mistake to see the then stopped.

    After that happens

    then it closes automatically.

Please tell me how I can solve this problem.
my pc is all software up to date.

    Hi @rhl_yadav,

    Thank you for your response.

You said if you reinstall Windows, it works very well for a few days, but then comes back.

When it works, and before it fails, what is changing?

If you are not sure, please do a HP PC - refresh your PC to solve problems (Windows 8) to get it working again.

Although this should not affect your personal data, I do not pretend to make a backup to ensure no data gets lost.

Create a restore point that you can go back.  Computers HP - using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)

Watch closely to see if you can determine what has changed the origin of this difficulty.

    Good luck!

  • Pavilion g7: hp support assistant interrupts constantly

HP Support Assistant dialog box always appears and makes my laptop slower execution.

the dialog box displays "this application has encountered a serious problem and needs to close.  Click OK to automatically restart the application. "However, no request has been closed.  If I click close in the box if displayed, it nothing happens.  I have to click with the right button on the symbol of question mark in the dialog box, then choose 'Close this window'... then it takes a while before the dialog box disappears.  How can I get rid of this feature?

Go to Control Panel, programs and Features to uninstall it. Retart your laptop to finish. If you want to try the latest version which should work better you can download it from here to install it.
