"HP tools Drive E space"? on HP Pavilion dv7

Last few days, I was doing the error msg: «HP TOOLS disk E: running out of space...» «something pls CLICK here to see the free space...» I click and the only thing listed is the TRASH that is empty...

Thanks in advance for any help on this!

OK, that's the problem, System Restore cannot be enabled for drive E

Turn it off, here's how.

Control Panel (display the icon) > system > Protection System (left side)

When the popup opens and fills it, select disk E: in the box "protection settings" and then click on 'configure', a new window opens, then check "turn off system protection" and then click ok to close all windows, close Control Panel.

This will prevent future a diskspace for E:

    Hello

Please help me find the driver for BCM20702A0 for hp pavilion dv7-4285dx for windows 7.

I'm going to each site, trying to find a driver for BCM20702A0 because I tried to install a 4 (badge) bluetooth dongle on my laptop but it says 'impossible to update software' when I try to run the installer from the manufacturer's website. Then, I go to devices and printers and try to solve the problem with the bluetooth dongle and it says "BCM20702A0 is not a driver" I tried to download broadcom and updated centrino HP network driver for my laptop page up-to-date, but that does not solve the problem. All these other drivers that I find are for other computers laptops and even still, I can't navigate to links posted on this site, it brings me right back to the search page.

    Thank you

  • network controller driver will not install on pavilion dv7-6c20us

After a new installation of Windows 7 64 bit, I was passing by and install all the drivers.  I can't get WiFi to work, it says the pilot "cannot properly installed.»  The wired LAN Controller and all other drivers seem to install, very good, but not wireless.  (I've tried a few)

Also, I went into the BIOS (which I've read here to try) to disable the saving of LAN, but this option was not there for me.

OK, I got it working.  I actually found some real advice on Yahoo Answers (I know, right?)

The driver who ended the work is here: support1.toshiba-tro.de/tools/updates/realtek-wlan/realtek_wlan_win7_2000016L_20110523.zip

These are the instructions that I followed:

You first need to know what model of network card you have in your system.
If you are using the network card on the motherboard, then you need to install the drivers for your motherboard CD.

If the network adapter is a PCI card, you must:

    1. right click on MY COMPUTER then click MANAGE
    2. open the Device Manager and right click on 'Network controller' (should appear with a yellow question mark) and then click Properties.
    3. go to the tab "Détails" and you should see "Device Instance Id" and below, you should have something like this:

    PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_8168 & SUBSYS...

The parts that interest you are the codes after "VEN_" and "DEV_".

In my case, the codes are 10EC and 8168.
Go to www.pcidatabase.com and look up the first code (vendor code).
Click on the name of the vendor and search (CTRL + F) for the device code.
There you should find the model name and number of your network adapter. You can then search for drivers.

For example: search for PROVIDER 10EC and you should find:

    Realtek Semiconductor

Click on the name of the seller and on the page that displays search 8168 and you should find:

    Chip number: RTL8168/8111
Description of the chip: Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)
Notes: DRIVER for XP PRO SERVICE PACK 2

  • HP pavilion dv7 4077cl need new hard drive

I need a new hard drive for my laptop HP pavilion dv7 4077cl entertainment.  The old man is a Toshiba MK6465gsx.  What would be compatible?  Maybe more now I have 640 GB of storage like most.  Can someone help me?

    Hello

Yes, the HARD drive become more fat and more (capacity), becomes also more small - actually thinner - (dimension) AND cheaper too. You can use more (once again - ability) HDD from reliable suppliers/manufacturers. 750 GB or 1 TB of a WD HARD drive would be a good start - please stay with the one who has more cache and fast (7200 rpm or more).

My suggestion: replace it with a SSD and put a larger HARD drive on the second span.

    Kind regards.

  • Where to find the new optical drive Blu - Ray RW to replace the DVD RW Ditto in the Pavilion dv7-7044eo

Where can I find an optical drive to brand new RW Blu - Ray to replace the optical drive DVD RW in my Pavilion dv7-7044eo?

This laptop was HP top-of-the-line, i. e. a more expensive. Yet, would gladly ha paid $50-75 more for a model with RW Blu - Ray instead. Sure you want to enjoy the clear picture on the 17.3 "LED HD screen!

In addition, why the {deleted content: language filter escape} the laptop is not an included o/s of Win7 Home Premium disc? What the {deleted content: language filter escape} do if the o/s breaks down, as it did with me earlier not stationary HP PC running Win6 ({deleted content: language filter escape} Win Vista, you know). At least then I got discs included with the PC.

    Hello

    1. you can find it in any store of good computer similar to a small number of these (scroll down a bit)

    2. your machine must have a similar to this (or even than mine) recovery disk/partition:

Please don't touch in it. You can also create a set of disks (only once) and keep it safe. My machine (also a dv7-7xxx) needs 5 DVDs to create. The recovery partition together with recovery dics can be used to adjust the machine to the day. Please read this for more information:

  • Maximum capacity of ssd on hp pavilion dv7 - 3165ev

I want to add a second drive (SSD) in computer HP PAVILION DV7 - 3165ev, what is the maximum capacity that can take (SSD)? example: I add a 512 GB SSD?

    The system BIOS ver: F.1D

    DV7 - 3165ev says:

    Thanks for the reply

You're right, it's too much 512 GB, I found a sumsung 250 GB SSD, but I don't know if the motherboard supports. The 512GB I put as an example.

Because the system works on SATA 2, I don't know if the motherboard can support an SSD (SATA 3) will downgrade the SATA 2 speed or not be recognized by the motherboard.

The disk SATA III will function as a SATA II but should be recognized. I don't know why but all the readers, I installed in my laptop always worked anything and especially solid discs that I stopped using current hard disks long ago.

If a Pro of Samsung 256 GB running on a laptop, I see no reason why the same Samsung Pro 512 GB should not be working on the same computer that they probably use the same SATA controller.

  • Radeon AMD in Pavilion dv7 notebook driver problem

I have a pavilion dv7 notebook and for a few months, I had problems with my graphics driver.

It began with a notice that my license was expired, so I went on the AMD website and tried to install the update. I ran dxdiag to find tool that I use an AMD Radeon HD 6620 G graphics card. I could not find my product on the list to manually install the update, so I tried the Downloader tool from amd driver and he had a problem of recognition of my graphics card. I then tried to update with the help of Support HP and that seemed to work for a while.

Yesterday my screen changed the lowest resolution and a notice came it was not recognizing my graphics driver. Yet once, I tried to update manually from the AMD Web site. When this does not work I downloaded the driver AMD Downloader and after installing everything he said is that "your computer does not contain a correct graphics card" and closed the program.

I am lost at this point uterally, and any help would be greatly apreciated.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 not recognizing their 'new' capacity of 750 GB HARD drive.

    I have a model of HP Pavilion dv7 - 2173cl with:

    1. Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 CPU processor.
    2. Windows 7 Home Premium - 64 bit (factory installed Vista update) OS.
    3. 2048 MB is memory.

'SMART' HARD drive imminent failure message received:

    1. Original disc installed HARD is a 500 GB Western Digital model WD5000DBEVT.
    2. SMART two weeks' ago error messages indicating imminent failure of HDD appeared.
    3. A check of the HP Web site checked the error number corresponds to "imminent HARD drive failure.
    4. The message prompted me to 'save' the HARD drive.
    5. I completed a backup of files and an image via the "Backup and Restore" feature backup of Windows 7.
    6. The backup has been to an external Seagate 1 TB USB connected external HARD disk
    7. In addition, I created a 'Windows 7 64 bit system repair disc' using the backup and restore of Windows 7 feature.

    Replacement HARD drive:

    1. I bought a 750 GB (7200 RPM) Western Digital model WD75000BPKX.
    2. When formatting the HARD disk (via the CD of 'Windows 7 64 bit system repair disc') replacement I observed the formatting of the process that the size of the disc HARD has been reported that 500 GB (compared to the actual size of 750 GB).
    3. With the help of the rollback on the CD "repair" feature I restored it (backup on external USB connected HDD image) image.
    4. Later, I check the 'properties' from the 'device' (the new HDD of 750 GB and observed that Windows 7 also pointed out this new HARD drive as a 500 GB drive (compared to a 750 GB drive).

    Site HP Web search:

    1. A search in the Web of HP SP5575, referred to as software download site and 'run' to identify a 'Advanced Format hard drive.
    2. A downloaded execution of and run this software has given rise to the audit that the 'new' Western Digital model WD75000BPKX is an 'Advanced Format Hard Drive.
    3. The site also shows to support a 'Advanced Format hard drive' the "device driver" must be at least version 9.6.01014 Rev: has (the current version is 6.1.7600.16385).
    4. The SP50624 Web site, referred to as software to download and 'run' to update the disk device driver (found in Control Panel/Device Manager/disk drives/Driver/updated updated driver for Windows 7).
    5. I have downloaded and run SP50624 and as a guest 'Update Driver' selected in the Control Panel/Device Manager/disk/disk driver and also "indicated the location where the new driver after 'running' SP50624.
    6. Windows has responded with "the driver is up to date" and selected version 6.1.7600.16385 driver (i.e., would not version 9.6.01014 Rev: A).
    7. The software (e.g., Windows) running on the 'new' unacceptable short slow disk. It is a symptom commonly identified when a disk with 'Advanced Format' works without the drivers appropriate and formatting.

    Issues and options:

    1. Is there a solution that will allow the model of HP Pavilion dv7 - 2173cl to use this 'new HARD drive (a compatible disc HARD driver update that will install or another available solution that will accommodate a HARD drive to Format advanced such as the 750 GB (7200 RPM) Western Digital model WD75000BPKX)?
    2. Or is my only solution regarding the HP Pavilion model dv7 - 2173 cl to buy a 500 GB HDD without 'Advanced Format '?
    3. And finally buy a vintage/new laptop today.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

    Problem solved.

I solved the problem as follows:

    1. I chose to reload Windows 7 from "scratch" after your positive validation of this approach.
    2. This required me to reload all applications (for example, Microsoft Office).
    3. Note: A reload of the OS and Applications from "scratch" requires access to the "Product Key".
    4. During the initial charging of Windows 7 and the formatting of the 'new' drive Windows 7 provided the possibility to remove the partitions (remove/reorder) that had been affected by the recovery process 'attempt' described above. With the help of this function I eliminated the partitions and 'Add' the "unallocated" space to the overall capacity of 750 GB HARD drive.
    5. After reloading the OS, I checked via 'Properties' that all of the 750Go were present and available - success.

    Thank you for your support.

  • Pavilion dv7-4285dx hard drive

The hard drive on 2 years, Pavilion dv7-4285dx of my son is dead. It's a Samsung HM641JI, 640 GB, 5400 RPM. can anyone recommend a good replacement for this notebook drive? The new drive can we (GB) smaller than the original? Should I just stick with the same Samsung drive? Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you.
PS - I use the recovery discs just purchased from HP to restore the new drive.

    Hello

You can use standard HDD from other providers. Nowadays people need more space, go for a larger HARD drive, it's a wise move. The recovery disc may not install on a smaller HARD disk because it will put your machine back to the factory settings.

    Kind regards.

  • the upgrade of my hard drive on my pavilion dv7 4280us.with SSD

Upgrade to ssd drive using my recovery disc to install windows 7 it to load any disc 5 restarts to the start SCREEN of the HP LOGO screen and it doesn't recognize the OCZ VERTEX 4 DRIVE I install.

My PC IS Pavilion dv7 4280us.

    Hello:

At less than your SSD is the same size or larger than the mechanical drive, that you have replaced, the recovery disks will more than likely working.

An alternative to the installation of W7 (only if you can read the full product key 25 character), is to do this:

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

  • Pavilion dv7: DVD not to be read in the drive.

No reason apparent that my HP Pavilion dv7 stopped reading DVD, it worked one day, the next whirred just and nothing. There seems to be no mention of the 'computer' drive that says "Devices with removable storage" etc, either. There is no error message and I don't think that I have accidentally can I do something for this set.

We have the complete model number, please? Can it read CDs? Sometimes one of the lasers is bad and the drive must be replaced. It can also be a software problem, but a way to quickly check is to try to boot from a bootable DVD as a Windows install disc or HP recovery disk. If it is unable to boot from DVD it means it's a hardware problem. Replacement disks are low-cost, perhaps $35 or more and super easy to replace. Generally a screw must be removed from the slipped disc and the IPLs of replacement in, live replaced.

Post back with the model number and identify the country you live and plastics color laptop and we can help you further.
