HP Touchsmart 300-1020 system restore

Hello, I have a PC HP Touchsmart 300.  I recently sent in for repair and it works very well for a few months.  They replaced the motherboard and the hard disk.  My brother somehow got some malware on the PC so I decided to do a system restore on it.  Whenever I do a restoration of one of the discs of recovery or the recovery partition, it gives me an error saying: Recovery Manager cannot restore your computer by using the image with.  Please contact HP support.  Error code: 0xe0ef0003.  What can I do to solve this problem and to restore?

Hello

I don't think your recovery partition can be damaged and the only option for you is to order the Kit of the RRS from HP in order to restore your windows to original state.

You are still able to get into windows? If so, try to create the RRS Kit, if you can't, try to order the Kit by using the information that I posted below.

  • HP TouchSmart 300-1020: buttons HP Support Assistant diagnostic Test does not

I have HP Support Assistant version 7.7.34.34, which - I think - is the right version for my TouchSmart from HP with Windows 7 64-bit 300-1020.

When I try to run a diagnostic test (optical drive, USB key, sound card test, test test the printer, hard drive, keyboard, map chart, microphone, mouse), the button snaps (with mouse) for diagnosis, tests do not work.

Basically... I click on the button for the desired... diagnostic test and nothing happens!

Troubleshooting apparently buttons function very well... click on one and a convenience store starts.

What can I do to "solve" the problem of Diagnostics button?  Thank you!

    You are welcome.

Since your computer is 6 years old, I suggest that perform you a System Recovery.  I do this at least once a year because I like a computer that works like new without any problems.

  • Cannot select boot without keyboard - Touchsmart 300-1020 option

Yesterday at 02:00 my touchsmart came in itself, so I turned it off in my sleep.  This morning I turned it on and it is stuck to the windows page asking you to choose me Recovery (recommended) or start Windows normally.  After a countdown from 30 seconds, * beep * starts all over.

The news suggests that the computer was turned off during a windows update... entirely possible... I was asleep!

The problem is this: I can't choose anything because it does not recognize the USB or bluetooth keyboard, so I can't select start Windows normally, much less run all tests.

I replaced the batteries in the keyboard and plugged a usb keyboard... obviously that didn't work.  If I have a recovery disk I have no idea where it is, or if he would seek from DVD player without being able to select an option in the BIOS.

    Any ideas?

You won't believe this, but here's what worked: a USB to Mac keyboard.

Yes, that's true.  After trying my Dell keyboard in all USB ports, I decided to try one of my Mac keyboards.  Worked perfectly, now Windows ends, it's 'Do not turn Power Off' installation.

A round of applause for Apple please.

  • How to level the TouchSmart software to version 4 on TouchSmart 300

I'm on the TouchSmart 300-1020 (product # NY536AA-ABA) running Windows 7 (64 bit) with 4 GB of memory. I want to upgrade the software TouchSmart 3 to 4 TouchSmart. All support for this links are dead.

Can you help me? My son with autism & other disabilities using TouchSmart - mainly the application of the Web software for the Visual schedule. The upgrade would help us improve the schedule by making it more interactive.

    Thanks in advance!

Most of the touchsmart features & updates to level is closed now. Check out the link which explains the use of the Touchsmart 4.0:

  • HP 300-1020: recovery questions

    Hi all

    HP Touchsmart 300-1020 all-in-one

OS is Windows 7 64 bit

I recently bought the Touchsmart 300-1020 and many issues.  I intend to do a factory reset to solve most if not all of the questions, but when I put in place the Recovery Manager, it does not give me the choice to reset to factory conditions without the help of recovery disks.

Is it because the 300-1020 was not manufactured with a recovery partition recovery without disks using wildly or could the partition have been corrupted somehow?

The next step was to make a record of recovery, but but the creation of HP recovery disks does not see the recovery partition.  To quote the message, "the recovery partition is not found" Image icon factory next to the HP (C indicates 12.7 GB free of 12.8 GB.)  There is no files contained in FACTORY_IMAGE (D in addition, at the opening of the creation of recovery disks, I read that it could be a set of recovery disks created.)

If the first owner created these disks, which would be why there is no files in the original Image (D?)

Next, I decided to do the best I could to fix the problems manually, but they proved to be many.  There seems to be issues with "Touchsmart Homepage" as well.   Photos see toward the top in the home page but music and videos in different files are not visible.  It seems that the best move is to buy the necessary dics and get things to normal as far as I can get them again.

Which leads to the third question and I hope I was descriptive enough for someone to answer: a set of recovery disks will bring this computer to a State factory reviewing the questions I mentioned with particular reference to the absence of the recovery partition?

Thanks for all the tips.  I think that I have now found the right place for what will be displayed.

    Ambico

All new HP computers come with a recovery partition.  It is possible that the original owner somehow altered the recovery partition or delete its content.

The only way to bring the computer back to life would be to order the HP recovery discs.

  • HP TouchSmart Desktop PC eSATA connection 300-1020?

I have a HP 300-1020 Desktop TouchSmart.  I'm trying to connect a Thermaltake BlacX 2.5 "" / 3.5 "SATA HDD, eSATA & USB docking Station."  It came with two cables: USB and eSATA.  The {very detailed not} statements have two cables being connected to the desktop computer, but I can't find any eSATA port.  I don't want to plug into a classical USB port for fear of spoiling something.  The instructions say nothing about either / or Setup.

Is it possible to use only the USB connection?  Additional hard drive will be used for storage only, so I'm not too concerned with speed.

    Thank you very much

    sweeneyfry

As with most the exteranl drives, it should not matter if you use a connection style or the other. The instructions I read online status ' esata / usb "is either or a situation.  There should be no problem using the USB drive or the system.  The emergence of external storage with a USB 3.0 interface has much to do with eSATA not available.  USB 3.0 is more friendly (especially with Win8) PnP and offers higher performance eSATA. Hope that helps you.

  • HP Touchsmart 520-1020 PC: installation of operating system/recovery on the new HARD disk media?

    Hello everyone!

I recently bought and installed a new hard drive on my Touchsmart 520-1020 after that started to spoil. Given that I don't return to the top of my media and the model was old enough, I had to buy a whole new pack of system directly from HP recovery disks. I tried to install them several times, but each time that the process of recovery achieved 39% the disk #2 (in 4 total) that breaks down just, and a message appears saying that there is an error 0xe0ef000e. I thought it might be produced because the hard drive is not compatible, but the hard drive is reading for diagnostic tests, so is not the problem. HP support suggested that the problem could be with the discs, but I bought it on the official HP website to make them new. Please let me know what you think the problem might be. Thank you for your time.

More than likely disk 2 is bad, call HP for a replacement set.

  • HP TouchSmart 300 connection issues

Hi, I have a HP TouchSmart 300 with Windows 7 Edition Home Premium that I bought in 2008. Yesterday morning it was working completely fine. The end of the night when I turned it on again, it took a while to start and join the log on screen. I was thinking just leave it off overnight and turn it on the next morning to see if that would help. I turned it on this morning and it took awhile to get to the log on screen, but he got there. Once I logged it took awhile to open a session and he stayed right on the Welcome screen indicating the loading circle. When he connected, the screen was black. Works and move the cursor, but everything else was black. I pressed Ctrl + Alt + Del and the usual options screen appeared. I clicked on log off. I then logged back in and it started to load for awhile then all returned to the login screen. I connected again and again the black screen with the cursor to work. So I pressed Ctrl + Alt + Del again and cliked start the Task Manager and it returned to the black screen. After 10 minutes to leave her like that the Task Manager appears but the rest of the screen is always black. I know 5 years will be a great run by a computer these days, but I just want to know if I could still save and continue to use it.

Does anyone have an idea of what might happen and how I could solve this problem?
    This happened to someone else?

    Hello Mindy123:

Welcome to HP forum. Sorry you hit hard by malware / virus. The reason I say this is because if Windows are not authentic. This is not the message, that you would see period that yours is false. The real message in a white box appears on a sreen desktop windows open up on the right. He'll tell you please provide Microsoft with contact phone number.

There are three things you can do. 1 is try the safe mode method. Turn your computer off tension, then restart it tap f-8 keys use arrow keys select Safe mode with network. You can try to remove it by low loading verson of the trialhttp://www.malwarebytes.org/ malwarebytes scanner once he has finished and deleted everything. You can see if your computer starts normal now or if you like you can also try running a free virus scan check as well. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/  If no analysis removes the virus/malware. Your computer still is not booting properly then it in 2 safe mode this time you now open up HP Recovery Manager and perform a Microsoft System Restore. Go to all kind of research programs in the HP Recovery Manager open it select the Microsoft System Restore, click Next until you get to the dates that you select a date as far as you can. It can perform the recovery. Once, he completed see if your computer starts normal now. Sometimes this method whipes on the virus / malware. If this a not you don't have no choice but to do a restore factory, only cd discs.

Pior that put your computer in safe mode and back up your personal data files once completed. Then precede to step 3.

    3. turn on your computer and press the f-12 Recovery Manager window will open. Select Restore Factory of cd. 1 insert recovery disc follow all orders for recovery. Your computer will be slow at first until it has updated itself witch will take about three days to update. Don't worry about the updates of the trees that fail to install by the end they finley will be installed.  If you have any problems, follow these steps let us know.

If the three methods don't turn off your computer. Turn on your computer hold down Esc button for 5 seconds. Change the start of your computer in order to initialize disk CD/DVD Recovery disc 1 insert click on save and exit. Restart your computer that will automatically start to recovery. If Recovery Manager ask you how I would like to perform a recovery. Select Restore Factory disk CD and continue to follow the orders of recovery. frrw

  • I have a TouchSmart 300-1007 that performs a hard block after about 30 minutes to be turned.

I have a TouchSmart 300-1007 that performs a hard block after about 30 minutes to be turned.

Windows 7 Home Edition, the stock machine, even if it does even if I start in diagnostics (F9 at the start of the BIOS), so I doubt it has nothing to do with the operating system.

By "hard block", I mean the screen goes black, the wireless keyboard is not flashing blue light on the USB FOB and the power button only turns off although it by hand for 30 seconds. I have to pull the power cord to turn it off.

It started shortly after the application of the 5.12 version 2A8E update motherboard BIOS published 2011-03-24. Never should have done that; experience shows that I have more problems than improving when updatng BIOS' are.

No heat problem (air vents are clean as a whistle). I suppose the best thing would be to restore the BIOS but I don't know if it is possible, or how to do it.

This is my daily workstation and is now effectively a boat anchor / deadline / brick.

    Any ideas?

Yay for me. My dose of GENIUS has had this problem for THREE DAYS running machine now without any problem whatsoever.

It it CERTAINLY evil genius of this machine, no doubt.

Other victims of the Touchsmart series should regroup and get some kind of compensation. I know that I had to buy a new computer to replace this one when it stopped working, and I spent a TON of time to solve the problem (it would be an easy solution to the factory; not so easy at home)

  • TouchSmart 300 Windows 7, re - install on hard drive replacement problem. Help!

I have official restore for my Touchsmart 300 disks and try to get it back on a hard drive, which I took from another machine. Drive hard said have left include Win 7 and Win XP. When I try to boot from the recovery CD, I am taken to the old hard drive Artemision boot menu, not the installation of the recovery disc. If I continue on this path there, I get an error message and a suggestion from my hard drive is damaged. Repair disk option can fix anything. Recovery Console doesn't help either. Why the CD read and overwrite all the old stuff on the hard drive?

    It is a good idea.

They can have tools or diagnostic we individuals have no which can isolate the cause.

  • TouchSmart 300 Crash when installing Win 7 OS

    Hi all

I have a HP TouchSmart 300-1025. It came pre-installed with Windows 7 (Home) 64-bit. I have repeatedly tried to install Win 7 (home) 32 bit. Whenever the system is close to complete the installation of the OS, I get a blue screen that indicates very briefly on the screen. From what I see during his momentary appearance, mentions blue screen and memory dump physical. I can't the system to complete the installation of Win 7 (home) 32-bit. The collision process is repeated. Anyone would be able to provide some useful tips? This system is not designed to receive one other than its image as a stock OS install? I have a hardware problem? I run a diagnostic check in the bios. All controls of spend. I would appreciate help, if none is available.

    Thank you for your time.

    Hello dendriform:

Of course it goes crashing, you can not install software for Windows 7 32 bit on a 64-bit operating computer you need to stick with Windows 7 64 bit software there is a big difference in OS OK. If you want to run the older version of the software on your 64-bit Windows 7 computer you can always but not all software work can you get grade Windows 7 home 64 bit for Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and once that is downloaded will go to microsoft website and download windows xp mode. These computers are not 32-bit computers. That's your problem, and that's why it crashes. Back to Windows 7 home 64 bit software. As you cannot install software 64-bit on a 32-bit computer with a change of 3d parts of computer hard drives and cards that never need to change the.
