HP TouchSmart Ultrabook 4 Audio failure envy

My computer will not play all the sounds (music online and downloaded videos, games on my computer, everything).

This happens not all the time. I'm not sure but I think that often happens when I use my computer for a long time (1-2 hours). It starts to work again when I restart my computer, but it doesn't work later and I have to restart my computer again.

I was wondering if there is a solution and if there is a reason why my audio is not working.

Hello

Try the following.

Open windows control panel, open Windows Update, select "View update history" in the left pane and then select "Installed updates" link in the next window.

Locate the KB2962407 update, right click and choose uninstall.  Once completed, restart the computer, open windows control panel, open Windows Update and select "Check for updates".  You will see the update that you have uninstalled just offered once again - right click and select "Hide update".

After that you may or may not need to remove and reload the sound driver - if you do, how to use Recovery Manager to reinstall the drivers and software is detailed in the document at the link below.

Recovery Manager - Windows 8.

  • Help! Disable the touch screen on Envy Touchsmart Ultrabook 4

Hi, I have a problem, try to disable the touch screen of the Envy Touchsmart Ultrabook 4 function in Windows 8... I was looking for an answer on how to do it, but I did not find anything. I tried the method of the control panel > hardware and sound > pen and touch and then disable the option "use your finger as input device", but this option is not there for me! If anyone knows how to do this, I would be very grateful.

    Hello

I have another type of TouchSmart, but this may work for you:

    1. Press Windows + X logo.
    2. Select Device Manager from the list.
    3. Click on the small arrow next to Interface devices to expand the list.
    4. Click the touchscreen driver (in my case, Voltron NextWindow touch screen).
    5. Right click and select disable from the list.
    6. Click Yes in the dialog box that asks you if you are sure you want to disable the touch screen driver.

When you want your touchscreen to work again, follow the above procedure, EXCEPT when right-clicking on the touch screen driver, select enable.

  • Trying to find advanced settings of the BIOS on my envy Touchsmart Ultrabook 4

I'm trying to locate my envy Touchsmart Ultrabook 4 power management settings.   I am running the Insyde BIOS verision F.23.  When I open the BIOS to F10 (I also tried F10 + A with no result) before starting the only options are to hand, security, System Config. in and out.  Is anyway to get the advanced settings in the BIOS?  Thank you.

    Woodyzen3000,

I understand that you are looking for the power management option in the bios.

After doing some checking this bios has no option for the management of food as some old versions of some time got back on our old systems. I was actually able to get their hands on a similar Ultrabook built with the same version of the bios and the options are no longer present.

It is possible that perhaps a next version will be the available option. In order to keep an eye on this link because the future updates to the bios would be here. You simply enter the product number, and then select your operating system.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.

  • Envy Touchsmart Ultrabook - boot from Usb Flash or optical drive

I just this envy Touchsmart Ultrabook (14 inches) with 8 win and it works very well, but one thing that I can't make it work is to be able to boot from a USB stick or a cd usb player.  This system doesn't have a built-in optical drive.

I changed the configuration Bios Boot UEFI for Legacy and also re arranged the boot order so the USB drives are before the internal hard drive.  I also tried to change setting USB 3 auto... still not able to boot from a usb device.

Both the usb flash drive and cd drive to boot on my HP desktop and I recently tried the usb flash drive on a new laptop Lenovo comes with Win 8 and it worked.

I need to do so that I could run my backup - Acronis True Image software.

Any suggestions on what then try?  Thank you.

  • No Audio - HP Envy 23 monitor

    Hi all

So, I recently bought the monitor 23 Beats Audio HP Envy. I used the disk provided to install the drivers and software, he said. So I wanted to try the audio jack and plugged into the monitor and it my computer says I have no speakers or headphones connected.

I'm only using a VGA cable to connect my computer to monitor, this is the problem or if it still work if I plug the headphones on the screen instead of the computer. The headset works fine if I plug it into the computer. Do I need another cable or have not installed something.

    Any help appreciated.

  • Sound problems with HP TouchSmart Ultrabook 4-1118tu ENVY

My Hp laptop suddenly has a problem with the sound; There is none!

The message "no Audio output device is installed" appears when you move the speaker symbol.

The laptop is now running Windows 8.1, but this problem happened weeks more than two months after it has been installed.

    Help, please!

Hi all, well, I finally found a way to solve my problems of trawling other support pages and find tips on this page.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/TouchSmart-PC/IDT-high-definition-audio-Windows-8-1/m-p/3012423#M21768

Really, HP, you need to make it easier for people to solve their own problems when the corrections are as simple as that.

I went to the Device Manager (be found easily by pressing the Windows key + X), open the "Sound" folder, right click on the device audio and selected "update drivers".

Of course, I had weeks of no sound and the fix was simple, but not easy for people who use their computer with confidence, but aren't experts in their functions behind the scenes.

I have someone else solve sound frustrations I had hope. "

  • HP Envy TouchSmart j003TX Beats Audio not work

I recently my phone drivers and bios updated the software updated, HP Support Assistant, because I've upgraded to Windows 8.1. Suddenly, my laptop goes to a BSOD whenever I play games like Crysis 3, etc. I discovered that the problem was on the new Intel HD Display driver for Windows 8.1, then I went back to previous drivers for Intel HD. That solved the BSOD problem. But, I just noticed that I can not access the control panel of bat, and whenever I try to open it, a pop-up message indicating, "IDT Audio from PC has stopped working" suddenly pops out.

Please help me solve this problem. I tried to install/reinstall drivers Audio IDT, even tried on the old drivers of win8, always returning to nothing does not...

  • HP Envy M7 - J078CA Touchsmart: hard disk failure Envy Touchsmart

    Hello

To put it simply, my hard drive went south and I've never done the recovery DVDs.  Can I replace the HARD drive with a new drive, but obviously a source of reinstalling the OS need return to the default settings.  I saw another thread on the forum dealing with this same issue and explaining what to do, so I followed the steps to create a bootable USB key with the image ISO in the thread, but then realized that my model did not match the model presented in the discussion.  I wonder what is the propper iso file for my hardware (HP ENVY M7-J078CA).  I was going to add to the other thread, but thought I'd start rather cool.  If the thread is necessary I can paste a link for reference.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello:

"It looks like it will install a generic Win8 or 8.1 OS, not the specific HP which has the additional hp software and drivers for the HP hardware (like the fingerprint reader, etc.) on a particular model of HP laptop.

What I posted in my first answer is a CLEAN INSTALLER download link. It is the only link legal and available at the present time. It will work on your laptop computer to install the operating system. As I said, the drivers can be downloaded from your linked above support page.

If you want to restore all settings with all the drivers, you must use the USB/recovery discs you must have created once you have installed the laptop first. If you don't have that, order them specific to your model of HP:
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph07143

    Contact HP:http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

The link of ISO in the thread you linked is also a link INSTALLER CLEAN, which may or may no longer be active today. I'm not sure. It is the same for all HP supplied with Windows 8 pre installed. But Microsoft withdrew the support of all these links earlier and he's not sure if the activation of these facilities would certainly be well after the installation.

  • HP TouchSmart Ultrabook 4 ENVY: fried, drive will NOT boot from usb

Hard drive clicking on, definitely fried. Replaced by the new hard drive. No matter what I do, it will not start from the

bootable USB key with windows 8 install on it.  Stick to boots on other computers.

I press ESC to the maximum power that I can get the boot menu, F1 works great, F2 works very well.  If I select F9 for boot options, for bios F10 or F11 to restore it goes back to the found boot device, hard drive (3F0) asks me to press F2 for the diagnosis of sys, the screen flashes. will not change.  No matter what I try, I'm stuck in this endless loop.

How can I put an operating system on this device?

    Model # c2k82ua #abl

Nothing I've tried has worked. However, I have finally managed to make it work has that.  I disconnected the battery for the bios for a bit. After that, I could get in the bios setup. Still would not start from a good bootable USB then I activated the Legacy and set the boot order to boot from an external USB Cdrom. Reinstalled windows 8 and all is good now thanks for all the comments!

  • Digitizer replacement for HP ENVY TouchSmart Ultrabook 4-1103ea

    Hello

My son managed to break the touch screen (Digitizer) (the LCD is fine). I've been advised by Hp that I can replace the screen display only (plastics, bezel, mic, screen, etc.) which is out of stock and very expensive.

Can someone tell me where I can get a replacement screen and a digitizer without having to buy anything else?

I have been informed that the screen is stuck on the digitizer, if it does not buy just the digitizer?

All suggestions from suppliers etc. would be greatly appreciated as I am struggling now after having exhausted what I can find on google.

    Thank you

    Hello philsha,

Present 716398-001 699378-001 are the only numbers I have for HP. Both replace the entire screen. You may be able to find other options available, but I would not be able to recommend other options.
