  found the solution.  You must install the same memory manufacturers in both slots.  I installed the new memory all the same company and I have finally the 8 GB.

  I recently bought a 1 GB RAM module for my laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro M50. The laptop has already had a 512 MB card installed. I used the scanner memory from crucial.com to ensure what I bought compatible memory.

  I installed the 1 GB module, and now all of my system will show is that I have 896 MB of RAM available. It is of course the module 1024Mo less 128 MB for the execution of the shared video card. My BIOS shows also only 896 MB of available RAM, but if I run a program of analysis such as CPU - Z it shows 2 modules of RAM installed with a total of 1536 MB of RAM available.

  I tried the two RAM modules individually in both slots and the two modules together in both slots. Both work individually and both work in two locations in memory, but combined the module of 512 MB is not displayed. 1 024 MB module seems to be fine. I am running Win XP SP2.

  Do you have any ideas I can do to fix this?

  A second question, I used to play DVDs on my laptop, but recently, when I try, the sound crackles & pop & the DVD skips a little every two seconds... any ideas?

  I found similar issues here in this forum and especially he was bound for the bar of memory is not compatible.

  According to the information on the Toshiba Web page module the 1024 MB PC2700 (PA3313U-2M1G) is supported and can be used.

  I put t know what the manufacture of your new memory is, but I wouldn't recommend mix parts. Try to use both modules of the same provider and use both with exactly the same specifications.

  I just got a new 8 GB Fuze and it shows now available only 7.16 GB.  Here's what I did:

  I have the battery fully charged. I then started the "rocket", confirmed the version of the firmware (v2.xx), confirmed that he showed the battery fully charged. I've updated the firmware using updater then confirmed the new/current version showed in the news.  I then reformatted the "rocket" via Control Panel > Format to ensure that the limit of 8K database is performed.

  When I am connected to start loading music he showed that the player had only 7.16 GB available. I disconnected and reformatted again. Same result.

  When it is connected to the computer (MSC) for reader shows property information:

  Capacity bytes 7914 million, 7.37 GB available

  Space used 220 million bytes, 210 MB used

  Space free 7 694 bytes, 7.16 GB available.

  Under system settings > Info it reads:

  7549 MB memory

  Free 7337 MB

  I understand that disks corresponding never completely the ability and the firmware takes up little space, but lost almost a full GB of usable space doesn't seem right. As I recall, my previous 8 GB Fuze was 7.5 to 7.6 GB of free.

  8 GB is not really 8 GB because of the difference between binary and decimal.

  Put in shape will not affect the firmware - it only removes the content added by the user.  But I don't think it will create a lot.

  Press the Windows logo key and the p key, and then set up the PC to display on the built-in monitor only cycle through with the arrow key.  You can make this Store if you want - key Windows-p, right arrow once, paused for a few seconds & the laptop monitor should then appear normally.
