• WPA - PSK on the ACU is out... Now what?

  I was instructed to get 128-bit WEP wireless encryption on my network to WPA of any flavor. I prefer to use WPA - PSK, because it works better with our existing infrastructure. We have a couple dozen portable scanners running Windows CE with Cisco 350 radio stations and the ACU 1200 series with the newest IOS WAP connection. When checking to see if an upgrade of the firmware or the utility would allow me to support WPA - PSK, I found this post:

  Oops! Don't think!

  So now I know that ACU will not support WPA - PSK.

  Does anyone have a suggestion for a solution of encryption using our existing hardware? Reading over the posts in this forum brings up the mention of the other applicants that would work, but no details. Can someone point me in the right direction?

  You have not mentioned you version of EC or ACU, ACU version 2.60 with the corresponding picture for map 350 or later support WPA either directly or with the aupplicant of windows. You must contact the manufacturer of the scanner for the new code if available for you the models.

  I recently had the pleasure to develop on the Blackberry 9700 for my work, and it was a happy experience. I have several questions about the Blacberry and its future directions:

  Y there or there is already (or planned) for the blackberry with sensor functionality more?

  Y there or there is already (or planned) to have blackberry specialized for medical diagnosis?

  (I know this is a crazy idea, but with portable scanners and identifiers of available portable bacteria, it could be an interesting feature)...

  More specifically, it would be interesting that some of the features of Blacberry could include one or more of the following sensors:

  -Altimeter

  -Magnetometer

  -Thermometer

  -Accelerometer

  -Barometer

  -Hygrometer
  -Photometer
  -Rangefinder / Distance finder
  -Light meter
  -Sound level meter
  -Dosimeter (radiation)
  -MRI mobile (technology is not ready yet however)

  I know that my ideas may seem crazy, but I think that these types of portable devices will exist eventually on the market one day, and I just wanted to give people to Blackberry a few ideas!

  PS: I have a technical training in electronics, with some years of experience, so my idea is probably less crazy than you think!

  I hope that we will one day these types of devices!

  I have a 5.3 ACS cluster that is configured to use AD. There are a few features wireless and control tools that have no AD accounts. I would like to configure ACS to check first AD for the authentication of the user, and if that fails to derail the local identity source (internal users) where I can set these user accounts.

  It seems that when authentication hits the rule of the order of the initial identity, he never moves to the next if the first fails.

  The client stand alone is downloadable from the Web site.  If you are on a trial or own, you should see a download of the VMware View Client in your list of software.

• HP OfficeJet 4650: HP utility does not connect to my new portable printer HP OfficeJet 4650 of my connected USB MAC

  Utility HP does not connect to my new HP OfficeJet 4650 of my Mac connected usb portable printer.  I have to turn off the printer, printer and try again sometimes that works.

  Thanks to their participation in Forums of HP! I see by your post that the HP utility connects to the printer. I will definitely do my best to help you.

  Make sure that the printer is connected directly to the Mac with the USB cable.

  Fix permissions of the drive on the Mac:

  Close all applications.

  In the Apple menu, click OK, click Applications, and then click utilities.

  Open disk utility.

  Select the startup disk in the list of volumes.

  Click the first aid tab.

  To verify permissions, click on verify disk permissions. To fix the permissions, click on repair disk permissions.

  Restart the computer.

  Reset the printing system:

  Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer deleted can be re-added later by clicking the sign plus (+) symbol.

  Click on the Apple icon and then click on System Preferences.

  Click on Printers & Scanners.

  Make a right click (or Ctrl + click) in the left white side panel, and then click Reset printing system.

  Click OK to confirm the reset.

  Type the name and the correct password.

  Click OK to reset the printing system.

  Then click on the sign to add the driver, highlight the printer +. (you may need to click the drop down menu to select the name of the printer) Then click the Add button.

• What happens in Sierra w Canon scanners?

  Canon started late to upgrade the drivers for its scanners, but the list of those still pending is very long...

  My question is: Sierra is a minor update (i.e. risk limited) or rewriting profoundly affects the relevant areas in the analysis? What is likely to happen if I update before the drivers are ready?

  No upgrade of the OS is minor. Framework can load and existing software may be rendered uselss.

  Apple provides the operating system to developers in advance months to make changes are necessary for the developer to make their decision on what they want to do. • Iomega Portable hard drive now does not appear under "Devices" after accidentally deleted USB cable. USB

  My Iomega eGo Portable hard drive was connected by USB on my Macbook Pro OSX 10.9.5 cable and I was transferring my iPhoto folder.  Unfortunately, the cable dropped and I got a message on my laptop hard drive had not ejected correctly.   I reconnected it the cable, but now, it does not appear under devices in the search page.  I also checked the disc utilities and it isn't here either.  I tried to connect the hard drive of my iMac, but it does not appear in the devices out there either.

  Although I have been using a Mac since they first appeared on the market and can usually work things, I find it more and more difficult with all the new technology.  Everything that used to be so easy, one of the great things the Mac since MS-DOS.

  If anyone can help I would be very grateful, because I have a lot of files on this disc of old Mac and use the Iomega to backup my most important files.

  The drive may have failed.

  Try different USB cables.

  Remove the naked drive from the iOmega enclosure and test it in a known functional wardrobe.

• Portable MacBook Air computers come with Microsoft Word?

  I have a renovated (new to me) doesn't have a Mac Book Air I just discover 'word' (or 'excel')!  I am bit shocked, but maybe I shouldn't be?  The only comments in the community support for that group had entered no later in 2011.  There were some good suggestions there on how to get free or pay for, WP but I wanted to make sure that Word is not supposed to is already on my computer.  Version 9.1.3.  (It does not say IOS, but I guess...)  For any info or suggestions are appreciated

  Computers portable MacBook Air does not come with Word. - or most portable computers Windows unless pay you extra for Microsoft Office based.

  In addition, the iOS is the operating system on the iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touch.

  OS X is the operating system on the MacBook (and other Mac computers).

  I suspect that you look at the version of Safari that is installed on your Mac. The latest version of Safari is 9.1.3

• I have Firefox Portable on a USB key and 'ordinary' Firefox on my PC. When I look for the versions of each both show 41.0.2. Is this correct?

  41.0.2 is the latest version of Firefox and Firefox Portable? This is what happens to everyone when I'm going on "about Firefox".
  I sometimes wonder if the Portable version doesn't rely on one that is on my PC since the USB drive is plugged into the PC.

  Both versions have the same version number 41.0.2.

• Portable Thunderbird

  Hello
  I am very satisfied with Thunderbird at home, but at work I have to use Outlook 2013 and I feel very uncomfortable with it.
  So I would like to put a portable version of Thunderbird on a USB to use it without installing.
  Goes on the official Mozilla site, I don't see any portable version (also if this version is very famous on the web). It is not officially released by Mozilla? I found a portable version on http://portableapps.com site but I do not know this site and I'm not sure that I can trust this "pirate" version (including malwares/spywares? Who knows?).
  Is there a portable version of TB officially released and supported by Mozilla? If yes where can I found it?

  PortableApps is a portable version of Firefox since Firefox 0.8 in 2004 and for Thunderbird way from 1.5.0.10

  In theory you can do, but I would try and discourage you to do.  In my opinion, Time Machine should have its own dedicated disk.  In addition, all data stored outside should be stored on a second HDD if data have no value.  This is an often overlooked point.

  OK I have neen searching around on portableapps.com for Thunderbird.

  You see you do not actually use Mozilla Thunderbird desktop, you use a product that has been modified by a third party and really should ask in this forum of products.
