  • A virus had attached to an email that I never opened, and it deleted my email Thunderbird profile! Is it possible to get it back? It's urgent!

A Trojan virus attached to an e-mail that I never opened, but it was in my window, that I scrolled my emails as well as the other emails. I don't remember to open it, but if I did I would NEVER open an attachment, not even people I know, unless I'm expecting something! In any case, my virus scanner caught, but he did nothing on this subject. I ended up finding the folder named 'Profile' which contained the virus. I am sure of that. I removed it, because I could not disinfect or he quarantine a reason any. He has apparently removed my Thunderbird profile, so I can't access my email account when I click on the shortcut for the Office Thunderbird on my Windows screen. Please help. I don't know what to do, but I need to access my emails for invoices, etc..

    Thank you
    John

but it was in my window, that I scrolled my emails

    What does that mean?

    My caught virus scanner

Your "virus scanner" is not supposed to analyze your file for Thunderbird profiles in the first place.

    I deleted it

Not a smart move. With the profile you deleted also all your accounts and mail.

I removed it, because I could not disinfect or quarantine it

There is no need of this. A malicious attachment will no damage to your computer as long as you don't try to open or run it.

I don't know what to do

You still have the file deleted in the trash? You can try to login to your account via webmail and check if there are still messages on the server.

For the future, create backups of your profile on a regular basis folder.

  • I just accidentally deleted an email from my junk mail and then emptied. Is it possible to get it back?

I just accidentally deleted an email from my junk mail and then emptied. Is it possible to get it back?

I have Hotmail and I was able to retrieve the deleted message. At the bottom of one of the screens Hotmail (it may have been the spam screen), there is a note saying 'click here' (or something like that) to get to the top of your deleted messages recently. Although even I had emptied all deleted/junk messages, MSN could display all or most of the messages because they did not have them banned in the cemetery of e-mail yet. Thank you MSN and thank you Ken Blake and vader 95 for taking the time to answer.

  • I deleted by mistake the pic files, ran sys restore from an earlier date, always missing, suggestions

try to burn photos to a cd, pic files deleted by mistake, can not find all the files. has a restored system since 2 days earlier (point), files are still left, they are not in the trash. anyway I can find/restore the photo files?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, the system restore does not monitor and/or backup of personal data. This is left to the user. It only back - up system files. However, your photos can probably be recovered using Recuva from Piriform, the creators of Ccleaner. Stop using the computer NOW. The more you use it, more files will be overwritten and destroyed. When you use Recuva to recover the files don't be a noob.  Read the help text. It is because they know how to use their software. If your system has a logic or slave drive put the files recovered on it, or if you have an external one that works as well. Chances of recovery improve drastically by placing the recovered files on one drive other than the one they were deleted on.  The link below is the portable version, it does not settle. It is a stand-alone application. This will also help since you're not going to install software.

  • Vmx and logs deleted by mistake on ESXi files

Hello guys. I need help please, as the title says, today I made a mistake on the storage, there was a file with the name of a previously deleted virtual computer. So I thought it was garbage and deleted. Then an error occurred that could not remove the vmdk because it was in use.

But in fact, it has removed the log files and the vmx file. I found the instructions on how to get it back, and all I have to do is to create a new virtual machine pointing to the previous virtual machine disks. Of course, I need to stop the server for this.

If I manually navigate the storage, I can see the vmdk, but when I try to select it with the wizard to add a new disk, they will not appear. I tried these options:

    (1) create the virtual machine and in the select Disk drives option, select existing, but as I said when I sail, I see no hard.

    (2) copy the disks to the same directory and see if they appear when you add a new disk.

    (3) Create VM without disc, then add a new disk by navigating, even when I can't find the vmdk.

I can't find where to head the previous drive to the new virtual machine.

Is it because I am using ESXi?

    Or I'm I missed something?

This is what it looks like now

    db05files.JPG

    Thanks for your help.

Interestingly, after watching the disk sizes, it looks like the thickness of the disks provisioned. A 80 GB drive and a 250 GB drive.

In this case, you can follow the steps in http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1002511 to recreate the header files. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask.

  • User account deleted when I uninstalled Office 2010 Beta, how do I get it back?

    Details:

    • I am using Windows XP Pro SP3
    • I had already installed MS Office 2010 Beta. When I went to use it recently, I learned the period Beta was over and I was given two options: 1) buy Office 2010 or 2) uninstall. I chose to uninstall. When I restarted the computer after uninstalling, my user account has been deleted.
    • Fortunately, I had an another user account with administrative access, but it is never/rarely used, so when I opened this account is like watching a new computer desk. I see again all my files on the C drive of the other account, but they are all read only files.
    • I restarted the computer in safe mode at a given time, with networking and could see my old user account. Now I'm trying to find a way to recover permanently.
    • Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

    Hello

It could be that the user account registry key is deleted which is instructed to show the user account name in the login screen. I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below.

    Step 1:

I suggest to do a restore of the system on the computer and check if you are able to see the user account.

    Step 2:

I suggest start in the other user accounts that you have never used before and then remove the Office 2010 system by referring to the article below.

How to uninstall the suites Office 2003, Office 2007 or Office 2010 so I can't uninstall it from Control Panel?

Use a type of compressed as PNG or JPG image to save the screenshot.

Aren't confuse you the menu button of Firefox and the Firefox icon in the Windows title bar?

You get the orange Firefox menu button when the menu bar is hidden.

    • Firefox 3-bar menu button > Options/preferences
    • View > toolbars (press F10 to display the hidden menu bar)
    • Right click on empty toolbar space

  • I accidentally deleted an important Word Document - is it possible to get it back?

    It's a simple Word Document

What version of MS Office are you running?

Deleted documents generally go to the trash, unless you used a deletion method that permanently deletes so without going through the trash.  Have you looked in the trash?  If it is there, you can right-click on it and select "Restore" and it should return to the location and the State in which it was when you removed it.

  • I accidentally deleted my clock on my list. How can I get that back?

I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED THE CLOCK GADGET ON MY LAPTOP. HOW HE REINTALLED?

I guess you are using Win7.

Then, follow these steps to add the clock on your desktop:

    • Open the start menu and type "clock" in the search field.
    • Then click on the link "Add the clock on the desktop" Windows 7 will appear in the search results: (the clock gadget is a special gadget and has its own entry 'Add' in the start menu).

    • Windows 7 opens the Gadget Gallery application, if the clock gadget has been already added to your desktop or not: it's because you can add several clock on your desktop gadgets.
    • You will see the clock as one of the first gadgets listed inside the Gadget Gallery: to add it to your desktop, start dragging and drop it anywhere on your desktop.
    • Once you have removed the clock gadget, it floats on your desktop in the area where you released the mouse button.
