I just installed the automatic update to Thunderbird 24.4.0 and now some accounts will not send or receive.

I use Thunderbird for many years with several accounts of e-mail with little trouble. Yesterday, I received the notice that an 24.4.0 update was available and I did this update. Immediately after, I started having trouble with my email. All but one account could receive emails and when I tried to "Get Mail", the status bar at the bottom of the screen indicates "skewered to pop - server.woh.rr.com.... "and the green progress on the right bar is almost entirely green for at least 60 seconds, then goes with no new emails and no error message. When sending, the situation is similar, except that after a period of time, I get the error message "failed to send the message.
The message could not be sent because the connection to the server of SMTP smtp - server.woh.rr.com expired. Try again or contact your network administrator. "It is for accounts that worked perfectly before the update and without configuration changes have been made.
