• Can't access my computer vista laptop to network!

  I have a network home, defined as follows: Vista desktop connected to the Linksys WRT54G V2 router by ethernet. Windows 7 laptop connected through WIFI; Windows XP connected by WIFI.  I'm trying to share desktop with other computers printer.  I can access the files on two laptops in my office, but I can't access the desktop of a laptop.  If I map network one laptop computers, he said that the office is there, but it won't let me access it.  The map shows a switch between the Vista desktop and the routher which I do not know what it is.  I followed all of the ideas that I can find to make sure that the permissions are correct.  Anyone have any ideas?

• I am adadministrator but I can not access my computer functions

  2 days ago, I think I've accidentally changed my security settings for my: C drive while checking my computer ( don't know if this is the real reason however). I am the administrator on the computer and there is no other users. whenever I connect it denies access to my characteristics.  on the accounts in the control panel it says that I am administrator but he always tells me that I need to contact my administrator when using functions as the uninstall programs and features.  I ran an avg full deep scan off my computer and his own come so I'm almost certain that this is not a virus.  I'm running Windows Vista Home premium and I've never experienced this before.  whenever I start the computer, it starts to fuck as usual and then I get loads of pop ups for example:

  -Google Installer has stopped working
  -Apple sync notifier "could not start because corefoundation.dll was not found (I've never heard of corefoundation.dll)"
  -browserprotect.exe has stopped working (and whenever I close the pop up back to the top again)
  -When I go to access some of my files and applications it says 'you have insufficient access, please contact the administrator '.
  -When I try to access to my: C drive, it says ' not accessible, access is denied. "
  -When I go to access the features a bit it says "the parameter is incorrect" (not sure what that means)
  I'm usually a computer wiz and use of high-quality software, command prompt and all that, but I have trouble understanding it, so don't you worry I will understand any technical language, thanks :)

  Mario - Sorry for my delay in responding, but I need to retrieve the response that we had found.

  Surface of my wife would not accept his password and if it could not connect to use most of the suggested solutions to 'reset' a password.  We had to do a complete Factory reset by following the following steps (that I found on the Web, and successful):

  The only way to start a complete RESET without signing in Windows is to stop start Windows handle once or twice to get "Automatic Windows repair" to start, as follows:

  1. turn off the device in now the power button for 6-10 seconds

  2. press the power button to wake it up.

  3. once the Surface Logo appears, wait for the indirect "dots" approach to appear and then press and hold the power button for 6-10 seconds to turn the unit off again.

  4. Repeat step 2 & 3 until the Surface Logo appears with the words in saying "prepare auto repair.

  5 recovery Mode turns on.

  6. in the BITLOCKER screen, press "skip this drive".

  7. press on 'Advanced Options '.

  8. press on "Troubleshoot".

  9. press "reset".

  10 tap... "Just remove my files.

  11 reset process will take about 20-30 minutes - and all DATA WILL BE REMOVED FROM the DEVICE.

  When the "reset" process is complete, the OOBE/Start Up Wizard must begin and the customer can complete the installation of their Surface device.

  Please note that we have used this process because
  (1) we could not connect you to the Surface unit AND
  (2) because we had no personal data to save.  If you have any personal data that you don't want to lose, you will need to find another way to reset the Surface.

  I hope this helps.  He has worked for our situation and the Surface continued to operate perfectly since.

  From my point of view, their security policy is useless when you get out of HD and put in another machine. All the data is yours.
  My concern is to avoid the reinstalling all software as well as custom settings. Even if you saved all the files of configuration, it may still take some time.
