I need a complete recovery with XP home disc

How can I do to affect all records needed to get my HP Pavilion a409.uk up and running again.  A family friend gave my son their old HP less hard drive. We bought a new hard drive, but now have the installation discs to get it running. The original discs were apparently thrown by the previous owner, so help is required to turn on.  Can someone please make my son very happy...

Thanks in advance

Thank you, I tried this link after reading another dilemma, but unfortunately they don't have a game for my model. But after much research, I got a set of HP e-business Partner - best2serve.com. It costs only £25,35 free P + P.

Here is a link in case someone else needs it.

  • Satellite P10 - beginning of recovery with Windows 98 disc

Having just bought a new PC to decided to clean the old a because it does not work well and often breaks down. I started to run the cd-rom recovery (startup pc, press and hold C, etc.) and the first screen showed a message on * from Windows 98 *! I quickly abandoned the process, and there is no change to my PC.
As my old PC (Satellite P10) came with * Windows XP Home * I was surprised by the reference to Windows 98.

Can someone explain what is happening? I'm afraid to continue with the restoration.

    Hi weematt_1,

I m not 100%, of course, but as far as I know it of normal that you see from Windows 98 for a short period because the installer of recovery is BACK/WIN98 founded but that doesn t mean Windows 98 will be installed.

If the recovery disk contains Windows XP will be installed, but Setup of recovery based image on the BACK and if Windows 98 starts.

You should try it! I'm pretty sure because as far as I know the same thing happened to me on my older Toshiba laptop.

  • Re: Satellite Pro C660 - how to do the recovery with command prompt disc?

I have a brand new Pro C660 of Satellite. It worked fine for a day, now it will not load windows. I don't have to create the recovery disks, as I only had a few hours (Yes, Yes, I know, should have been the first thing I did). All data are present (but backed up just in case USB) and I can see the folder HDDREcovery with all data intact. However, I can't run the application to create recovery discs. Does anyone know how to extract the images and create the media using only the command line? (I can go into command prompt by booting from the Windows 7 disc a friend). All options fail own laptop startup disks. It says 'Windows does not load' and I try startup repair, but it detects no error. Any help/thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated!

    Hey,.

It of not possible to create the drive with command prompt recovery. You must use the Windows Toshiba Recovery Media Creator.

Now it s too late for you, but you can order a disc here:

  • How do you create the recovery with Yoga 13 disc?

With all the computers I bought, I had made or received recovery disks. I have read the forums here and found that I can make a windows image (what I did) and how to use the OneKey to make a backup. My concern is after I am out of warranty and the hard drive crashes, I can restore to factory setting?

The windows image is just a windows image. But there is no different partitions that are there from the factory.

I think that OneKey is on one of the partitions, so if I have to replace the hard drive it won't be there.

I want to just make sure I did it right.

  • Acer Aspire laptop with Vista Home Basic Edition does not, System Restore does not, sfc, find corrupt files but do not repair. Need help!

Hi, I have an Acer laptop Aspire with Vista Home Basic Edition that came pre-installed, so no records only the disk hard drive partition.

I turned on my laptop today and it starts but the loading bar of stalls at the black screen with "(c) Microsoft Corporation" and dragging green. The slide bar will continue to drag, but nothing else happens which means that I understand even as much as the login screen. I rebooted and tried Windows recovery, but the only remedy to what he suggests is a restoration of the system, which does not have any point, I try to restore it.

To remedy this, I have connected in safe mode and ran the SFC command prompt. It scans my system and told to find corrupted files, but he can't heal some. This is where my knowledge limit runs out. I don't know how to fix the files that the SFC cannot. (Also I created a journal using the findstr command prompt and checked but it say anywhere that it was unable to fix it so I'm not even sure how to identify corrupted files)

As it's an Acer laptop, Aspire I'll try their eRecovery tool to return my computer to factory settings, but it won't work in safe mode, and as I said I can not connect normally. I tried alt and F10 at the initial boot screen when I turn on, it loads the windows files and shows the Acer "Please wait a moment" screen and then nothing happens again.

I can't afford to get it fixed, and there is no chance I can get a new laptop. Any ideas/help? Thank you.

  • Need help with network home using Airport extreme

I need help with my home network.  I'm not very aware when it comes to all things network.  Here's how my network is currently set up.

Cable modem to Airport Extreme for Gigabit Switch.  Cables come out of the switch to all areas of the House.  I have 2 other extreme airport connected in other rooms of the House directly on the wall that dates back to the switch.  I hope I am explaining that properly.

My problem is that this seems to have caused some of my connections cable does not work.  When everything is configured, it has worked well.  All connections in the House worked.  Then we have disconnected one of the extreme airport and moved to another location in the House to have the best wifi coverage.  Since that time, a lot of the ethernet wall plugs are not working.  For example, when I plug in my Macbook Pro in making ethernet in my kitchen, it says connected but it has an assigned ip address and cannot connect to the internet.

Any help you can provide would be great.

I would like to get the return tech to help you to...

But it is likely that something (or someone) has tampered with the settings.

The layout is fine... but you can cause problems with the network by creating a loop.

This can happen because the AE you moved is connected wrongly... somewhere in the network it is connected to the switch again.

Or AE is set to expand wireless... It's FAKE... It will loop the network on the back main EI wireless.

Unplug the two AE you have that function as extensions...

Turning off everything else... then it works again...

    Do it in this order.

    Modem... Wait 2 min

    AE... Wait 2 min

    Switch.

Now check that the network is working properly... power of customers in various locations and make sure everything is good.

If so, then manually reset the two AE of factory and redo their installation.

You must specify more. Is the key that you got OEM that is glued on the base / your computer. She is upgraded or is this detail?

If it is OEM, you must contact the manufacturer of your PC to reinstall media, i.e. Dell, HP, Toshiba, Acer etc.

If you have a friend with a disc of the same version XP or XP Home OEM Dell you can copy using nlite as shown here:

  • IBM Thinkpad with XP Home Edition preinstalled but no XP installation CD. Will need to re - install XP from CD after planned hard drive upgrade. How can I create a CD to install XP from the installed system?

Hi, I bought an IBM Thinkpad with XP Home Edition pre-loaded in 2005 (the XP key sticker is on the bottom of the laptop), but did not receive an XP installation CD - I understand, it is a common practice. I want to improve the internal hard drive (for a bigger) then you will need to re - install XP from CD. They tell me that there is a way to create the XP (on the CD burner) installation installation CD but have no idea how. I can't imagine I'm the only person to have had this problem. Can you tell me where I can find the instructions how to do this please? Any help is welcome. Thank you very much.

    Hey mklafert

Sorry for the eve of Christmas, but there is no legal or free vista doesn't download only internet pirated versions that you would not want t for a gift

I suggest that you contact acer and ask them to send you a set of disks of replacement for recovery of the acer link below but it will take time

    https://secure.TX.Acer.com/rcdb/main.aspx?brand=Acer

But if you can borrow a microsoft dvd vista not acer hewlett-packard or the like discs of recovery of a friend or relative you might try to install vista in this way using your product outside of the laptop case key to install the family version correct vista premium of the dvd, and then go to acer and get the right drivers for your computer laptop model number

Just make sure you get the good dvd vista

There are two microsoft vista DVD produced is 32-bit and the other is 64-bit

most of the computers came with 32 bit installed unless he asked a 64-bit

and if you happen to also have a recovery on your computer partition acer laptop, you can start the recovery to factory standards by pressing Alt + F10 at startup

There used to be a password you need to enter too

It was 5 or 6 zeros

If necessary, contact acer for this information

  • 64 bit sytem with vista home premium which has been randomly locking up and freezing. The error is event 6008.

I have an ACER aspire x 3200 64 bit sytem with vista home premium which has been randomly locking up and freezing. The only mistakes were event 6008 with a description of the stop system prior to (time) on (date) was not planned.
When these errors originally occurred, I returned the system to acer and they installed a new hard drive. After updating the vista system blockages continue 30 times over a period of 3 months. Acer sent me a new disk image on 3 disks that I have installed and updated on 11 October. There is no blocking until the 10/27, 10/28, and for the 3rd time today.
The closed unexpected gives a blue screen if I use the locking system to the top. I have to hold the power to restart when the system crashes.
Can someone help me solve this problem?

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.  But I guess it's too late for this for so long that there are probably no so old restore points.

If the system restore does not work, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not work, try to start in safe mode (repeatedly hit F8 key so that the start and go in safe mode with networking).  Then we will check some of your system files:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run.  It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  It will scan and try to solve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a cause.

If this does not work, then please post repetitive errors in Event Viewer on the stop (Start / Control Panel / administrative tools / Event Viewer).  Here's how to use Event Viewer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html.  From what I understand, there is none of the events (which surprises me because a freeze should certainly generate an error event).

If this does not work, you will need to do a repair/system upgrade using the Windows Vista Installation disc authentic (you own or that you can borrow from someone).  Here is the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html as well as the upgrade from an earlier version of the Windows section of the following: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918884.  Although this will not affect your data, settings or programs, you should always back up your data before you start just be on the safe side. If other procedures do not work, it is almost certain to work (but you NEED a disc).  You can have a lot of updates to re - install (including all you need to remove service packs).  If the version on system with SP1 or SP2 preinstalled cane and the disc is an earlier version, then you will need to do a slipstream drive as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/151606-vista-sp1-slipstream-installation-dvd.html.

I hope one of these procedures can solve your problem.  If this isn't the case, after return and we will try something else.  Return message anyway so we know how it turns out.

    Good luck!

  • Strange problem with Vista Home premium configuration update

Just bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-1AI which was preloaded with Vista Home Premium.

Clicked on configure updates on the front screen and he entered a loop that says: Configuring updates: stage 3 of 3-0% complete. Do not turn off your computer.

Every 5 minutes or so then stops and restarts with the same message. I left on for 8 hours, so can not believe he needs for this long. Just tried to set off, but when you restart it defaults as shown above.

    Hello

Try please start your computer in safe mode and restore your operating system to an earlier time (before the update). Maybe this will help.

In the future be careful with updates. I recommend you to disable the automatic update. Just check the list with updated supply and install important and recommended only. Disable all optional updates. You don't need them.

  • Exchange discs hard btw two identical with XP Home SP3 OEM installed OEM specifications

One of my laptops Gateway 8510GZ is 'die' (issues of video button and power). I want to take the hard drive of the laptop 'dying' and install it in the 'good '.

Reason: The road to the 'dying' is fairly recent, faster and has more capacity. It also has a lot of programs that will require hours of resettlement.

QUESTION: Can I take the dying drive from that and put it in the 'good' and call Microsoft to reactivate?

Two 8510GZ machines came with XP Home OEM operating system (updated subsequently with SP3). They were 100% identical at the time of purchase (only of the different serial numbers - of course). I only have the recovery disc OEM for these machines. I have a family version of XP Pro with an unused license left, but was not enough to mess with a clean install and find all of the drivers concerned.

If the material is ABSOLUTELY identical in every respect then you may find that you don't need to reactivate... If you find my answer helpful, please click the button "Vote as helpful"! Thank you!
