I need to restore my laptop until it has only 'default' remaining

I need to reload everything on my computer laptop girls without erasing "the factory standards.  The only programs and features I want to keep on this machine are those which was originally there when it was purchased from Dell.  I want to erase all games, internet history, documents, photos and files. But I don't know how to do this without reloading the pc and I have no backup discs, so I can't format the hard drive and erase all this b/c, then I would not be able to get the operating system on the pc.  Restore points I have are underway to use.  Basically, I need this pc restored without any antecedent.  I sell the phone and do not want anyone to be able to obtain all sorts of information about me or my daughter.

Do what you want, to reload Vista.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disk/s Vista, if you do not.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

Look for the recovery Partition as you should have one.

Dell recovery options:

And that way if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive.

  • Need help to restore my laptop to the original operating system is

    I accidentally installed 3 different operating systems on my laptop on a hard drive external that I had saved them on because we have hacked a year ago on 2 of the 3 calculates so my son saved our systems for us in case it happened again. Now, I have all 3 on my laptop and need to restore my laptop to its original files. I have a mixture of things here on my PC and my husbands xp and my laptop vista. Help. I don't know if the other 2 systems can be saved on my external hard drive or not. I have my product key for 3 computers.

    You are welcome.

    As you never have a drive to buy, this is how you should be able to reinstall Vista on a Toshiba using the recovery partition:

    https://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/bulletinDetail.jsp?soID=2737864&PF=true

    You can see if it works but it is probably destroyed by installing these backup Images.

    If it is not available, try and get the Toshiba recovery disks or borrow a DVD of Microsoft Vista according to my first answer.

  • 2000 laptop 365DX: need to restore but have a restore partition point or recovery.

    Hi guys. I have a laptop HP 2000-365DX with Windows 7 Home Premium.   Its so crowded and I need to restore back to original settings.  I had installed Ubuntu (partitioned) all the time and has been very stupid, because I deleted my partition recovery HP tools.  Now, I searched here on HP.com to order a recovery disc and apparently I can't find one for my specific model.  So what I have done is downloaded a file .iso Windows 7 Home Premium (with a good soul on these forums) and I need to download all the drivers for my laptop as well but HP is having some problems now so I can't download them (which is fine that I'm in no hurry).  So, that's all as far as my knowledge goes.  I have my Win7 disc and hopefully soon have my drivers disk.  What I do not know how, it's clear my computer to start from zero Setup Win7 again then all my drivers.  I read that DBAN (Darik Boot and Nuke) erases your hard drive clean, but that seems very extreme.  Looks like I would use to wipe my drive hard if I had to sell my laptop or to erase the evidence, but if that's my solution I'm cool with that.  So, really, I'm wandering what I should do now.  And I really re - install my drivers as well?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello

    You can delete all existing partitions on the HARD disk during installation, as follows.

    Start the installation.

    When you get to the screen 'What type on installation', choose the custom (Advanced) option, and then click drive options (Advanced).

    Here you can delete all existing partitions at a time by clicking on the partition to highlight it and then click Remove.

    A when you're finished, you'll have just one entry named not 'allocated space' - just proceed with the installation.

    Kind regards

    I wanted to ask how I could restore my laptop which seems to have some serious problems... It is:

    The first one who came first is a laptop Hp 530 comes with Vista Home Basic operating syatem and I updated to Vista ultimate which I used for almost 2 years 2 weeks ago after I downloaded some updates and started to set up my system unknown to me that my diet was not on the system's lack of battery and shut down without finishing system of its configuration and now whenever I go it is always telling me that its configuration still then restarts and stops on its own constantly without never to get the page to logon as in the first time after the restoration of power and put it on it gave me an error message that it finds not the login page and I tried to go through the safe mode and other modes of starting order that I can use the system restore, but it does not get past that stage and I have the ultimate Vista operating sytem CD that I had that I used for the upgrade of a dear friend who is not present in the city

    The second laptop which is Hp dv3000 which has Vista family premium has encountered a problem running last week when I visited the official adobe site to download a flash player and he was prompted after downloading asking me what program I want to use to open it and I choose Opera webbrowser because I wanted to access the site with opera , but suddenly changed some of my desktop icon to the icon of the opera and then I tried to uninstall the adobe program after uninstalling opera, but it wouldn't uninstall and the icons did not change, so I tried the system restore I had already set up a much earlier restore point but it will give an error message that it can't find the path and also some programs do not come to the top during starts and so does not display their icon in the bottom tray and some links from the control panel significantly the ones with. EXE as when I try to use that a message will appear asking that I want to run, save, cancel the program, which is unusual, and when I click either run or save always trigger the web browser to come... Please I do two of them as if I didn't get in shape like I did not back up my files and programs on two laptops.

    Please can someone help me...

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

  • Unable to restore my laptop because I have corrupted files.

    Original title: Windows 64 c

    Windows 64 c says I have corrupted files, if I can't restore my laptop to an earlier date. What should I do?

    Hello

    Run the sfc/scannow command.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

      The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions

    If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation

    read the below tutorial on how to perform a repair installation

  • The difficulty to restore my laptop to factory setting.

    I came home one day to find that there was a virus on my HP Pavilion Dv7 - 4009tx Enterainment Notebook PC and since I had important things backed up on my external hard drive I have much better just to restore my laptop back to factory settings, I find the best way to get rid of problems like this. (they rarely anyway).

    So I turned off my phone and then launch it and press F11, the window with three boxes popped up, I already knew what to do but the ability to set my laptop to factory settings was not in the first box where it should be, thinking that I made a mistake I looked on the internet and it said : this is how you do it. Confused out of my mind as to where the option went I tried the three other options available in the "I need help immediately" box and however the laptop has restored back to factory settings, but not completely, programs and software initially provided with the laptop were no where.

    I tired the other method to restore using the Restore Manager, option restore my laptop to factory setting was there to my greatest joy and I clicked it expecting it to be restored, but rather after the restart he come to a window with the restoration of the system and repair the start and a few other options.

    I'm really lost to restore my laptop to its factory originally settings as I had done a few times before. Nobody knows what is happening or what I'm doing wrong. My laptop runs only two years soon which means that it is not that old to have this kind of weird problems and I really need my laptop to do my uni work, I need to fix as soon as I can.

    Hello

    Virus problem has probably corrupted the partition on the computer. In this case, you will be unable to perform a factory reset of the recovery partition.

    You will need to perform a recovery using the HP recovery discs. If you have not created any recovery media after the purchase, you can order online them or directly call the technical assistance for the embedded discs out to you. This operation brings the computer to factory again.

    Here is the link to order online:

    Alhajji,
    They suggested to do a factory restore, if a valid step to do.  I know this isn't the most fun thing to do, but if you restore the system failing factory (clean install of the operating system).  Then, run Windows update and update drivers.  At this point, you can install a game and test.  If the problem persists, it would look to be a possible hardware problem with the system.
