I have the latest version of Firefox. My ISP uses Yahoo.com for its home page. For the past few weeks, whenever I try to read an article, news or sports, I get a message that says "Oops, something went wrong. I tried to reload several times but no help. Same thing on another computer that has a different Board and cpu. The two systems are Win XP Pro. This problem started before the date limit of windows. Restart the machine did not help either. Any suggestions?
Looks like the site has a problem. Not you. Try to go to other web sites
and see if there are any problems with them.
Many issues of the site can be caused by corrupted cookies or cache.
Clear the Cache
Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.
and
Delete Cookies
Firefox/tools > Options > privacy.
Under historical, select Firefox will use the custom settings.
There is a button on the right side, called View the Cookies.
If there is still a problem,
Launch Firefox in Mode safe
While you are in safe mode;
Firefox Options > advanced > General.
Find and stop using hardware acceleration.
Dig safe web sites and see if there is still a problem. Then restart. -
I have no problems with the browser until today. I'm on a Mac OSX 10.7.5 using Firefox 19.0.2.
Yesterday, I used PrivacyScan as I do usually once a week and today I logged in all of my regular sites. Then I ran MacScan as I always do. Suddenly, every time I leave Firefox and reopen it, I lose all my connections to the sites.
I have no "Passwords to Remember sites" checked because I use 1Password. In private life, I have 'accept cookies' and 'Accept third-party cookies' checked.
I ran PrivacyScan and MacScan many times in the past without problem and I didn't modify parameters, then it is a real conundrum.
Is there a file cookies.sqlite?
This is the only file that really matters.
You can try to copy the cookies.sqlite.bak and rename the file cookies.sqlite.
Don't forget to delete all the other files in cookies.sqlite (shm and wal files are temp files used by SQLite and should not be restored). -
