When the printer is still lit, disconnect the power cable to the back of the printer, if the printer has external power supply with a detachable power cord unplug for 15 seconds and reconnect it. Then, disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet. Wait 10 seconds and reconnect the power cable to the wall outlet first, then the back of the printer and turn on again.

  Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector)
