IE8 using 50% of my processor power

When I open IE8 2 case see in my processes list in the Task Manager, one of them using 50% of my CPU and 47000 K memory power no processor and less than 10000 K of memory. Opening a second tab brings a third instance of the process also using 50% of my power. These figures flucuate somewhat but remain as long as IE8 is opened. This problem started after the last round of updates from Microsoft. I have a Core 2 duo and a few GB of ram and WinXP SP3

Xperf performs better on Vista and Windows 7, you don't have XP so it will be useful.

It is normal that you declare is in some respects.  Excessive use of the processor is not normal, but IE8 uses a multi process isolation model, so multiple instances of iexplore.exe is normal.  Each process (actually a thread in each process) can consume a whole kernel, so on a system dual core with two processes with 50% CPU, 100% of the CPU usage is used.  However, the priority of threads busy compared to other threads on the system is not quite high to prevent the other threads to be scheduled.  That's why your computer not to release (z) e and die. :-)

So, how understand you the cause of the CPU? Usually, it's an add-on or extension.  For starters, you can have a race through the following:

On the other...

When did the beginning of behavior - recently did you remove or add any hardware or software?

Try a clean boot, or boot into safe mode.  The behavior persists?  What if you use a different user account?

Use Process Explorer from Sysinternals to check the stack of the thread using the most CPU in the iexplore.exe process when you experience the behavior.  When IE uses the CPU as you have indicated, double-click the process in Process Explorer and go to the tab of the Threads.  Sort the list of threads by CSwitch Delta (descending) and note the thread at the top. Double-click it and discovered its stack. Look for third-party modules (extensions of shell or modules, AV software, etc.) in the stack.  Disable (Autoruns or ShellExView, maybe) / uninstall these components, reboot and see if the behavior is affected.

Is it possible (or useful) to replace the processor in my media library of Rikouman Pavilion Elite m9060n PC... There an IPIBL-(Berkeley) motherboard with Intel Chipset G33. Intel Core 2 Quad Logo running up to 2.4 GHz. is there a processor more fast which will be taken in the Socket 775 and improve the operating speed? It is economically interesting if possible? Would be very happy comments from some computer guru, as I'm obviously a novice.

    Morrismomic, welcome to the forum.

The existing processor is Quad core maximum that you can use.  Your only choice is the Core 2 Duo E6700 or E6850:

Personally, I'm not sure you'll see an appreciable performance gain with either.  The memory and the video card are major concerns, too.  The system is as strong as its weakest component.

  • G4 250 HP with Intel 3825U: faulty BIOS causes Event 37, kernel-processor-Power

    Hello

So I just bought HP 250 G4 with Intel 3825U with Win 8.1 on board. There is a problem as a scripited on Windows forum http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/event-37-kernel-processor-pow...

Basicially the messesge says: X processor speed in a group there is restricted by the system firmware.

The same their appeard on the BIOS first and modernized thanks to HP Support Assistant and Freddie boath 8.1 Win and 10. The laptop was right out of the box, I'm the first user. Temperatures are 40 ° C bleow. Their apperas when on battery and when it's plugged in. I put all the power options in Windows and BIOS to maxium.

Tell me HP, will make you an update of the BIOS, or should I rush to the store to return the product?

It is a Forum for users, no direct access to HP. There are a few employees here HP, but they speak for themselves, not HP. don't hold your breath for any type of BIOS update, or you can find a place where HP will announce an update of the BIOS in advance or even to explain the reason that issued it. If you have a privilege to return on the laptop I would promptly exercise.

Is it possible to access the use of memory and processing power charge connect 6224 via SNMP? If possible, should the mib I use?

    Thanks in advance

    Rogerio

When looking through the available MIB found in the zip file for download of the latest firmware.  I see that the MIB fastpathswitching mentions 'agentSwitchCpuProcessGroup '.

    MIB fastpathlogging has 'agentLogInMemoryConfigGroup '.

There is no reference document material about what offer different MIB.

  • Media Player network sharing service uses 40% of my processor

    Hello

I bought the HP P6270IN with win 7. everything is perfect, but... I have a problem... media player network sharing service uses 40% of my processor . I do not want to use WMP library. Please advice how to solve this problem.

    Parth

    Hi Parth,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

You use the Windows Media Player network sharing feature?

If you use this service while the service is required to operate to check computers or network devices with which you share your music. This service also index/updates of the library that is shared.

If you do not use this service and still is using the CPU you can change the type of start up manual (which is to be launched by the user).

    To disable the service temporarily

    1. opening the Services Control Panel, or type services.msc into the start menu search/run box.

    2. double-click on Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service, and then change the service to Manualstartup.

This has now disabled temporarily the service unless you manually start the service. You can restart the computer and check if the service has been stopped and the CPU usage was down.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Firefox using too much processor power and memory after that I have closed it

I always clicked on 'X', the red top right of firefox to close. Lately when I do it, my CPU/RAM usage goes up dramatically and ff never really closed, slowing down my whole computer. It's really annoying, and the only way I know to stop it is to complete the process on ff with windows Task Manager. Any suggestions as to what could be the problem?

If we consider the problem is resolved you can mark it as you please.

However note that Norton Internet Security, by default, is likely to run 'pulse updates' not really a topic to discuss here, except to say that this activity may well continue, depending on your settings with Norton, regardless of whether or not you have the toolbar installed Norton.

I currently have a paid for version of Norton installed.

My understanding is that Norton bar refers to the password management etc for safe research and general connection with the site of Norton.

    • The Norton Toolbar is not compatible with the current beta of firefox 4
    • I don't know if there are other harmful effects on firefox
    • In itself remove the toolbar will not stop Norton software affecting the use of firefox (but this is of course to ensure the safety, I do not pretend you remove, only that you take into account its CPU cost wise)
  • processor power. i5? Quad core?

Hello, this question has been buggin me for awhile! When you buy a computer, the said processor is dual core, i3, i5, or i7. What do these numbers mean? An i7 will be also called a quad core or a core of six. And that, to me, does not make a lot of sense... yet.

    Hi Tim,.

Double heart (meaning two) has two chips of treatment in the processor. Core quad (four) has four of them. All the carrots are on the same chip. Then, they share the same memory and the path of data in the motherboard. Thus, a chip image may be able to execute instructions four times faster than the dual core.

Intel i3, i5, and i7 processors first and second generation with represents divisions low-end, mid-range and high level of the nucleus, which is Prime Minister brand of Intel Corp. semiconductor company of consumer CPUs from mid-2011. As a result, three computer chips contain several notable differences. In addition, the Intel Core i7 has a subcategory called Extreme Edition performance based.

Core I7s are preferable to the Core i5s, who in turn are better than Core i3s. Nope, Core i7 does not seven to six hearts or Core i3 has three nuclei. The numbers are simply indicative of their relative processing powers.

Their relative level of processing power is also meant their side Star Intel processor based on a set of criteria involving their number of cores, clock (in GHz) speed, size of the cache, as well as some new Intel technologies.

    Hope this information was useful.

  • 13 Firefox works in multithreaded mode and it can use the quad-core processors?

When you buy a new PC, we choose between dual core vs quad core processors, and some people claim that Firefox work mode multithreaded mulch and treats each tab in a separate process and may fully use the advantage of a quad-core processor. Is this true?

Firefox does not treat each tab in a separate process. If this can be a function in the future, I don't know of any plans to introduce any time soon. Obviously, buying a quad core processor will be significantly faster than a dual core, and your browser is usually less consume a lot of resources than other programs. I would not use it as your buying decision. Firefox will work just as well on a dual-core or a quad-core, but windows and other programs will work better with 4 cores.

  • How to use the Camileo H30 with Power Supply

    Hello

First: Excuse my English, im from Germany ;)

I have a Camilio: 30. its has been purchased used. I've only had the camera & the original battery.
No supplements (such as usb or power supply cable original)

what I want: I need to shoot for a few hours. The battery is unable to do. so I want to use it with a block of power, but when I put in (throughh a mini-usb connector) of the camcorder goes into charing (no actions are possible), but I want to make full use of the feature when the power is connected.
    How should I treat it?

    I got an a 2, 25 a 5V power supply, I think its enough... or not?
The label on the side of the camcorder bottum said 5V 2A...

    Thanks 4 help me :D

    Hello

If the Camileo H30 and I got this camcorder with battery and adapter supporting USB mini jack.
The s AC adapter camcorder supports the release of 2A and 5V
    Its model DSA-10 p-05

Google for this model, maybe you could get one from some dealers online
Otherwise recommend that you check the other adapters supporting these values.

  • High use of intermittent soagent processor and callservicesd

After the update to El Capitan 10.11.2, the process "soagent" and "callservicesd" regularly take large amounts of computing power and trigger a lot of fan activity. This occurs usually every 5 or 10 minutes, a duration of about one minute or less. The machine, a MacBook Pro 15 ", with i7 processor 2011, is not otherwise subject to heavy loads, other than to type in a word processor and keeping a browser open with only a few tabs.

The machine is not exchanging (a 16 GB of RAM) and is not of any other software update. Drive 500 GB is half of capacity.

The behavior does not seem normal to me and certainly does not appear in the previous version of El Capitan. everyone knows the same problem? Any clue?

The phenomenon is boring because it occurs also when running on the battery, and thus compromise the autonomy of the MacBook.

P.S. I just noticed that a few other processes are very active: accountsd, securityd_service, CalendarAgent. This is perhaps a problem with bad interaction with Google Calendar?

You should not need a power supply upgrade. But just in case, open your PC and display the information on the label of power such as the amperage supply total wattage and 12v.

  • False values of voltage using NI 9225 and ELectrical Power Suite 2014

    Hi all

I have a few problems regarding the use of a map of analog voltage NI 9225 with code exaple quality Applications of power (cRIO) (Delta-Sigma) of the Electrical Power after 2014. Running the example code I values of voltage wrong, they are exactly doubled! For exaple with a 230 V RMS input I get 460 V RMS. I think the problem is the module, because by default, the code example expects to use a module NI 9242. Before the upgrade to LabView 2014, everything worked perfectly with EPS 2013. Am I something missung? I configured the C module in the project manager in the same way that I used with EPS 2013. Can someone help me? Thank you

    Gianluca

    Hi Gianluca,

If you use other types of modules in the example, you must take care of the conversion of accuracy in the FPGA VI.

As FPGA VI resampling takes the signal of type fixed point +-24.1, you convert the +-24,10 and-24,5 to 24.1 in the Data Acquisition loop before feeding to the FPGA VI resampling.

And in the loop of data Communication, you restore the output of +-32,3 to 32,12 - signal + and +-32.7. Notice at the time the zoom in and zoom out are equal.

If you change other types of modules of different precision, you must change the precision of the given thread.

For example, 9244 accuracy is +-24.11, so when you convert it to +-24.1, you must restore it by variation of-32,3 to-32,13.
