IMac 24 end 2008

Hi, I have a late 2008 iMac 24, having heard that I can increase the ram to 4 GB per slot, only by hearsay, but spin the that el Capitan (very slow) is that possible? THX.

Your iMac 2008 only supports up to 6 GB of RAM; as he had two memory slots, it supports a 4 GB and 2 GB RAM module. You can buy more RAM for your Mac to OWC or Crucial (this does not mean that the RAM from other sources will not work).

  • iMac G5 end 2005

Hi, I have also an iMac G5, end of 2005, and although it works very well for an older iMac, I've got troubles get Skype running, it simply didn't and also none of the two versions of OpenOffice 2.1 (too much), or any version of Microsoft found for this machine which I really like and I intend to sell if I can not both running

I searched the internet for at least Skype running without success.

Any help in these matters on your part? I had planned to keep it at home, another iMac for work, but the problem on the G5 processor...

    I hope to get help

    The most appreciated.

software development is long over. 11 years in computers is like saying you have Philco TV from 1952 and want to know how to connect a HDMI adapter to allow the display of 4K.

  • iMac 27 end of 2012 windows 7 installation problems.

    Dear Apple community.

First of all I know that the topic was discussed a few more times, but after I tried to follow the instructions and directions and patterns almost everywhere on the net I am a blind spot.

I have an iMac 27 "end 2012. I managed to install Windows 7 with Bootcamp through a combination of different methods, on line. (downloaded the Bootcamp Support 5.1.5621 software as described in many forums)

But I am stuck because I always have problems with my UBS3 ports that do not allow my keyboard and graphic tablet to work (I had to uninstall the app in safe mode to return to UB2) and the resolution of the screen that is only 1280 x 720 at the arrow, trash and other stuff that appear distorted.

Since I'm on some architecture and 3D modeling programs in Windows I want to ask for help because I don't really know where to look further.

When I solve the problem, I promise to write here a detailed method to install win7 on iMac late 2012 for those in need.

Can anyone help me to finally get a solution? Thanks a lot for your time and looking forward to hear that here you.

    Hi Polfus,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple! I'm sorry to hear that you are having these problems with your Boot Camp installation. If you continue to have unexpected behavior of port connections and display resolutions in Boot Camp, you can find the troubleshooting steps in the following article useful (my apologies if you've seen elsewhere / fact them):

  • IMac 24 beginning 2008 compatibility El Capitan

    Hello

Since I installed El Capitan on my 24 IMac early 2008, even though I have enough space and 2G of memory, computer stops responding and I have to restart twice or three times a day. I've already checked in an Apple Store and I know that my computer is OK.

    What should I do?

    Should I reinstall Yosemite?

IMac 24 beginning 2008 is clearly not compatible with El Capitan because I didn't hurt before you install it.

    Thanks for your help.

    Christel

The problem is more than likely that you have 2 GB of ram. The last OS X to run good in only 2 GB has been Snow Leopard. Your iMac can use up to 6 GB of ram and if you stay with El Cap, you will spend. If you are running any cleaning or the AV software that also negatively affect performance.

  • iMac 27 "end 2013 - random stop

My iMac 27 "end of 2013 - have this problem to stop randomly, as power chord is out... randomly. I only can he start by plugging the power cable and wait for 5 minutes and then restarting it.

When I explored the forum it seems the problem until 2010, it is a shame that the problem persists on a such expensive iMac after all these years and apple is unable to provide a definitive solution.

My machine is less than a year, still under warranty, also under Apple Care, it took twice to the service center, here is the chronology of the events:

-They have reset the SMC, PRAM, re-installed OS during the first visit, the problem persisted

-Spent an hour on the phone support, yet once done a web-installation of the operating system, left ElCapitan to Yosemite, the problem persisted

-Took it once again, they have replaced the main Board... the problem still persists

I have read many theories online but no final solution. Here are some of the theories about what I found:
-RAM 16 GB the origin of the problem... but mine is 8 GB

-All slots of RAM is full... but mine has only 2 slots filled

-It happens that the i7... but mine is a machine of i5

-Could be because of the UPS, not having is not a good sinusoidal signal... wondering how to properly test it!

Someone has encountered this problem and solved definitely... Please help, as I am losing confidence with the ability to engineer Apple to fix it... Wow! This seems strange, isn't it, most innovative and most valuable world company is unable to fix a common issue that many customers are faced with... and we lose confidence with them.

I am in Bangalore in India, also need to check on the rights of consumers on this, any entries on this help because I think I deserve a replacement for the defective product. If it was the United States, if it is a lemon (take to solve the same problem 3 times)... even the cars is not replaced. Wonder how this works here. The lawyers on this forum?

Fellow fans of Apple and mac fans (I'm one too!) Please help.

    Remove the UPS and test.

  • What is the max memory for an iMac in early 2008

What is the max memory for an iMac in early 2008? MacSales.com shows a 6 GB kit, but crucial only shows a 4 GB kit.

    Thank you

    John

The computer iMac (early 2008) has two SDRAM slots in the bottom of the computer and comes with at least 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM installed into a slot. The maximum amount of RAM you can install in the computer is 4 GB (a 2 GB SO-DIMM in each slot).

  • Add Ram iMac 27 end of 2012

    Hi guys.
I have an iMac 27 "end 2012, 3.2 GHz Intel Core, RAM 16 GB DDR3 1600 MHz, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1024 MB, model number A1419, EMC 2546 675MX.

Now, I would add 8 GB of RAM (4 + 4 + 8 + 8) but in the Apple dealer says that's not possible... 32 GB or anything.

Also I request the addition of an extra drive SSD (now the classic 1 TB HDD), but said that's not possible... only Fusion od SSD 1 TB drive.

    I am confuse...

You have now two modules of 8 GB in the top two slots. Two slots are empty and you want to add two 4 GB modules. You can do it. The dealer won't. However, cost of the RAM is pretty cheap, and you're looking to add to 24 GB or 32 GB. How much more two modules of 8 GB will be plus two new modules to 4 GB? Just be sure to have the correct specifications:

    Maximum memory 32 GB
    Memory locations 4-204-pin PC3-12800 (1600 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM

Reliable suppliers are OWC, DataMemand Crucial.

This is my first post so I apologize if it is not posted in the right place.

I have a late 2008 aluminium MacBook (2.0 GHz) with 2 GB of RAM and a mid-2012 MacBook Pro (2.5 GHz) with 4 GB of RAM.

I want to upgrade the RAM of these two laptops, but in the most effective way possible. I wanted to buy an upgrade to 8 GB for my Macbook Pro for mid-2012, then use 4 GB of this machine to upgrade my end-2008 aluminium MacBook.

Is it possible to use the RAM from mid-2012 MacBook Pro aluminum end-2008 MacBook? Would be great, if so.

  • Track Pad problem end 2008 Mackbook Pro

    Hi all

I was wondering if someone could help me,

I have a mackbook 2008 end pro works great, however I have a problem with my track pad, which is a gift from my head in. IM using my mac now fine no problem however when I stop and start it upward a day later the touchpad is not responding. What I do is taken to the back of the case where the battery is and remove the 8 screws, I see that the ribbon cable is constantly of the touchpad, so I need to keep undoing the screws and re connect which is a pain. My question is how I g to get one of these and are they easy to set up. How do I know that this will not happen?

Of which detaches, attached photos I reconnect

I hope someone could help me on this issue as its been done for centuries and is such a pain.

    Thank you is all

To replace this cable, you must replace the trackpad itself.

This can be a painful process because you almost remove all to remove the trackpad. I guess that there is a way to fix the cable, so it's not unplugged.

I use ifixit.com all the time to fix a MacBook Air at my school.

Here is the link to replace your MacBook Pro trackpad. And also to buy the Trackpad.

It is currently out of stock, but you can warn you when it comes.

    Good luck
