Images of InDesign printing are not crunchy...

Hello

I need help, I try to insert a picture of my signature in a InDesign document, when I print the page in question the signature is not crisp, it looks jaggy.

The first thing I checked was the picture, when I print from Photoshop, it's perfect!

.. the file is a 300 DPI JPG, I am at a total loss... Can anyone help?

Thank you very much!

Keirebu

Keirebu,

I try to place TIFF images (without compression like jpg artifacts have) or PSD native whenever I need of transparency and sometimes PNGs (also for transparency). Each time a JPG file is saved, it loses quality. I also use a PDF file, mainly for items such as your Autocad files because they are vectors. And so on.

Try a new version of your signature to scan and save as a TIFF. If I remember correctly, the Epson utility allows the TIFF format. If it isn't, open it scanned JPG in PS and resave in TIFF format. Oh and make sure that you scan at a high resolution (1200 dpi is not too high if you are scanning for b/w, 600 dpi in grayscale and 300 dpi if RGB).

And if the new version is wobbly and someone else to see if the problem is local to your system, be sure to use the private messaging on the forum for PM me. I'll meet you my email address. And because it's your signature, scan a new as a fictitious name.

Take care, Mike

  • Images on Web sites are not clearly displayed

    Dear all,

The last month or so I noticed that the images on Web sites are not as clear as they used to be. Seem to be blurred. This isn't a big help when im buying cosmetics or clothing that the images are not clear enough to see what im buying. This isn't just a website its all.

Ive not changed anything on my laptop I know, his race just like when I bought it.

Anyone have any suggestions for me to try?

    Lesley

    Hello

This problem occurs in other applications or only if you are using IE?
In my opinion, you should check the brightness of the display.
This you can change with the FN + F6 and FN + F7 key combination

  • Photoes printed are not equal to calibrated screen

I have Photoshop CS3, calibrated screen (with x-rite eye - one display 2) all-in-one printer HP Photosmart 7283. The prints are not the same colors on my screen. How to solve this problem?

I see that the i1 offers a luminance target setting. Not only that, he has a prior calibration function that allows to use the OSD of the monitor controls to get as close as possible to the target before the calibration. It is the best way to do it.

Read the manual (you need to be in advanced mode). Then go to a target of 100-110 cd/m².

    Fact.

Then go to the dialog box print in Photoshop. Under color management, click on 'Document '. It should say Adobe RGB.

    Choose "Photoshop manages color".

Then, under "Profile of the printer" see if there is a that corresponds to the printer and the paper you are using. If not, this means that HP provides no profiles for this printer. In this case, you must use "Printer manages color" and the foregoing is questionable.

If there is, take it, and then click 'Print settings' to take you to the printer driver. Here, clear color printer (ICM off or similar) management. Again choose the correct paper type so that the printer use the right amount of ink.

That's all there is. I repeat myself just from this point. Basically, I said all this in the first post in the PS Windows forum.

  • The information about the registered printer are not compatible with this version of Photoshop

    Hello

I hope someone can help us. I'm a COMPUTER technician in a school, we have about 500 machines to Windows 7 64 bit with around 600/700 users - 200 machines have the CS5.5 Master Collection on which is installed. We have an intermittent problem with printing from Photoshop (32-bit and 64-bit versions). Our printers are for the most part, the (modern) HP LaserJet printers, but we have an inkjet Epson B-510DN and some copiers Xerox too. The drivers are all installed on a central print server running Server 2008 R2 and shared via the client computers group policy.

In the rooms where Photoshop is installed, intermittently when a student goes to print, we will receive the following error message:

Saved printer information are not compatible with this version of Photoshop, or the saved printer is no longer available. You will need to check your printer settings before you print.

Photoshop will be gray and then the button "Print" and will not let the user print again. The strange thing is that we can still print from other software such as Microsoft Word or Microsoft software or even non - same Illustrator will print. It just seems to be Photoshop it's has all the problems.

This occurs when you print to a printer on the site, 90% of whom are HP. As a general rule we set up all of our HP printers with HP PCL6 universal print driver because it facilitates the management of the various models of printers, and we did not limit ourselves atall yet. We are aware that the Adobe software is "preferential" for Postscript drivers, but aren't our printers, HP PCL is their mother tongue. We tried to change a printer for the Postscript UPD driver to test but he brought no improvement. We also saw the issue in depth altogether with our Epson B-510DN, which is configured with the newer model specific driver Epson as uses our photography service. As we see with different printers, I don't think the printer drivers are to blame - unless someone want to prove me wrong.

Like I said the problem is intermittent, and we are having trouble tracing it down for a user, computer, or a software problem, as it is so intermittent. Has anyone another considering cela and managed to overcome? Given that it only happens in Photoshop is this a bug that Adobe have recognosed and fixed the CS6? The only solution we found that he must go in printer, change the default printer from one to the other and vice versa - cela seems to shut up Photoshop.

    Thank you, Dave.

Here's the answer that I received from Adobe, and it worked.

'Ok. Try to open 'print', while holding the space bar; He ignores all the saved values. "Also, make sure that the correct printer that he set as default.

  • Information about the registered printer are not compatible with Photoshop elements 11

Hello - having used successfully PSE11 to print pictures on my printer Epson Artisan 810, printer died and was replaced with a printer Epson Artisan 837.  The new printer works on ALL my other applications EXCEPT I get the following error message after hitting "print" on Photoshop elements 11.

    Message:

Saved printer information are not compatible with this version of Photoshop Elements, or the saved printer is no longer available.  You will need to check your printer settings before you print.

    PhotoShop 837 Printer Problems.jpg

You can see on the screenshot attached as the Epson Artisan 837 is a validly installed printer.  All advanced settings were available for selection/editing, and all the printer drivers are up-to-date.  In addition, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer without the resolution of the problem.

Can someone tell me please in the right direction to solve this problem?
    Thank you, Debbie

    Running:

    Windows XP sp3 (updated)

Go into the control-> devices and printers-> and rename your printer or remove it and reinstall the drivers and rename the name of the printer. Looks like the Epson series drivers could come into conflict here that would be common for Epson series of printers in this category.

Need help or a download to make my printer compatible with Windows 8.

    Hello

    (1) have you tried visiting the Canon website to download and install drivers printer 6530 class Image for Windows 8?

    (2) what version of Windows 8 work?

To find out if the computer is running 32-bit or a 64-bit version of Windows, try the following steps:

un) Press Win Key + x. click System.

    b) under system, you can view the system type.

If the program is specifically designed for the 64 bit version of Windows, it will not work on the 32-bit version of Windows. (However, most programs designed for 32-bit version of Windows operate on 64-bit Windows version).

You can try to download the drivers from the Canon Web site and try to install the same.

If you would like more information about the printer driver, you can contact Canon for help,

  • The InDesign menus are not clickable

    Hi all

I work with ID CS4 on Windows 7 and I have, since installation, has had the same problem. Up until now, I've simply ignored, hoping that an update would fix, but some research revoilé that apparently I'm the only one with this problem (or I can't find that although ).

My problem is: none of the menu items within the toolbarpanel on the right side are clickable when I open them. For example clicking layers; I can't click on the layers to drag around or pass their visibility. Only the darker top gray bar of the menu layers with the little drop-down menu I can use.

Also the toolbar below «File, edit, layout,...» "erratic behavior, which means that when I click on to inside the boxes to change my cursor value either not arise inside the box at all or it lands in some adjacent area where using the tab (Alt +) navigate to where I want to be.

    Any thoughts on this problem?

If you need additional information please ask; I'm not so experienced so I could have left out what is obvious

    see you soon,

  • Reissue of links images in InDesign CS3 does not work

When I have an image that needs to be reprinted for the moment, I go to my links palette and double click on the name of the image. When the 'Link information' box appears, there is a button "Repeat" on the lower right. In CS3, for some reason, it allows me to click on it, but completely but won't let me not recreate a link to the image. This is the first time in 3 years of use of CS3, I have encountered this problem. Is there a fix, do I have to reload the program, change the preferences?

So now, whenever I have to recreate a link to an image update, I have to close the file and reopen it to automatically update the links or click the link at the bottom of the links Panel and then it pops up the file folder box.

    Help, please...

    Thank you...

  • H P and Dymo labelwriter printer are not recognized

I'm using Windows 7 Home Edition.  My computer is an Intel I7 processor, 12 GB of Ram, hard disk of 1 to build custom.
I have a printer HP 6988 and a turbo labelwriter Dymo 400.  Everything worked well and I had used both earlier.
Then I went to use the label writer and a message to a writer of the label must be installed and make sure it is connected.
Well it is connected, I disconnected and then reconnected and I hear the tone of the USB.  The problem of the printer is essentially the same.  I've had this problem once before, but can't remember what I did to remedy.  I tried to reboot several times.  I don't have the system restore option that I have no restore points.  Don't forget to set up this feature before.

Thanks for your reply.  I did an anti-malware scan and it found 27 bad entries.  I removed those and everything works fine now.  I have AVG anti-virus, it found 5 horses Trogan, but I found the fix before that.  Thank you.
