Impossible to access any network by Satellite U300

My Satellite U300 was great networking. Then it just stopped. It will connect not with or without wire. No problem with router or son.
Traveled all the diagnostics on Vista.

The driver will need to be updated if it worked fine previously? Where can I get the drivers from?
All downloadable drivers sites are just as safe? What else could be the problem?

This error message you have exactly and have you tested on another laptop with your router?
The problem is perhaps router not the laptop.

New drivers, which you can download at Toshiba direct.

I have a flash drive that I am more able to access. When I plug it in, I hear the sound that Windows has recognized. When I go into devices and printers, it appears, but when I right click on it and select browse files, go to the flash drive is greyed out. When I go into my computer, the flash player does not show unless I have check the option to display hidden items. When I double click on the drive, I get the message: Please insert a disk in the removable drive (g). Also, I went to the command prompt and typed in g: vol. I received the error message: the device is not ready.

When I click Properties, there is no name in the top box and when I type something in this box, I get the message: the volume name is not valid. Please enter a valid volume name. In addition, it shows that the used space is 0 bytes in size and is also 0 bytes free space. It is a 8 GB flash drive with about 2 GB of data. When I clicked on the tab tools and error checking, I received the error: the disk check cannot be performed because Windows cannot access the disk.

I removed my flash drive, then went to the Device Manager and deleted all surplus hidden drives as well as the disc to my flash drive. When I reinserted my flash drive, it reinstalled and now appears in Device Manager. When I click Properties, it says that the device is working properly, but I still can't access anything whatsoever. Then I went to disk management so that I could try to reassign the drive or the name (change the drive letter or paths), but the option is greyed out and inaccessible.

I tried to format the drive (knowing I want to delete all the data but be able to recover most, if not all of it), but received the error: there is no disc in the drive G:. Insert a floppy disk, and then try again.

  • Satellite U300 - F2 to enter Setup, F12 to access the selection of Multiboot Menu

    Hello

I recently bought a portable Satellite U300 and sometimes when I turn on the laptop the screen message says:

Press F2 to enter Setup, F12 to access the selection of Multiboot Menu

I press F2 and F12 but there is no answer.
First of all, why I get this message on the screen instead of being connected to the laptop as she normally does?

Secondly, why the F2 and F12 does not?
I hope that someone can offer excellent advice!

    Regards, Barry

    Hello Barry

This menu is available on all laptops with Phoenix BIOS version. As people say this message, choose F2 or F12, but not both at the same time.

Press F2 and keep portable start it toward the low during a few seconds and the BIOS settings should appear on the screen. It is the same with F12.
Believe me, I did this 100 times on several equipped laptops BIOS Phoenix and two options appear whenever I want to use.

  • Satellite U300 PSU30C - Toshiba flash cards and problem of accessibility tools

    Hello

My toshiba Satellite U300 model is not. PSU30C-TP908C with windows vista installed

I'm going into a big trouble for a reason, all keys of "F1 ~ F12" are due to a malfunction. When I press them, they do not work like what its supposed to do, instead they all became the functions that you would when you press on them while pressing the "Fn". So now if I press F1, I actually get a count locked instead of launching the Help window. By pressing 'U, I, O, J, K, L, M' would print a number of participants, but if you put 'ON' on the numeric keypad by pressing on "F11"(Notez que je pouvais le faire sans avoir à tenir le Fn), these keys will be back to normal. "» Space bar does not work little matter what you do. The numbers "1, 2" above 'Q, W' did not work either.

Another thing, I discovered, is that when I try to open accessibility tools in the utility of toshiba. He said: "this system does not support this program.

I tried to find updates of these utilities, but I couldn't find those suitable for my toshiba. I went to the toshiba support page, click Download, and he invites me to choose my cell phone number and the model of toshiba. However, in the list of toshiba satellite U300, there are only 3 models and none of them are PSU30C-TP908C. I didn't know that one is compatible with my model, so I gave up to find the updates.

Another thing I tried is to go back to factory State with the system recovery disks provided by the futureshop that I got my toshiba of. I restart my laptop with the disc in the dvd player. But I realize that the BIOS is actaully set to boot from the hard drive. So I'm trying to get the startup list by pressing F2 or F12, but the F2 and F12 keys do not work because their functions are already outsourced functions you have with "Fn" would hold down.

Could you please tell me if there is a known issue. Y at - it an update to fix this problem? How can I find updates for my toshiba utilities if my model is not listed on the support page? If none of the above is possible, could you please tell me how can I me to the startup list without pressing F2 or F12, so that I can use the recovery disk?

    See you soon,.

    Hello

Normally, you can find all the drivers on page Toshiba Canada for your laptop:
    http://www.Toshiba.ca-online Support => Mobile Computing

Keys FN on Windows, you need the added value package. You can find it on the Toshiba site. Remove the old version and restart the laptop. Then use CCleaner to clean the registry, and then install the version.

But be honest, if you can t get into BIOS because with F2 I think that it s a malfunction of the keyboard and it has nothing to do with the tools of Toshiba.
In your case I would test an external keyboard and lets you determine if she s an internal keyboard problem or not.

    Good luck!

or if you get an I/O device error message, this problem may occur when Windows tries to use a transfer mode that can not use your CD player
    RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, change the transfer mode for your CD drive in IDE channel properties. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click on manage.
    2. under the (Local) computer management, click Device Manager.
    3. in the right pane, expand IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
4 right-click the channel where your CD drive is connected, and then click Properties. In general, this channel is secondary IDE channel.
    5. in the Advanced Settings tab, in the zone transfer Mode for the device that represents your CD-ROM drive, click PIO only. As a general rule, this device is device 1. And then click OK.
If the problem is not resolved after you change the transfer mode for the secondary IDE 1 channel device, your CD drive should not be located there. Use the same procedure to return to the DMA transfer mode if available. Then, repeat these steps to change the transfer mode for IDE devices in the following order until the problem is resolved:
    Primary IDE channel, device 1
    Secondary IDE channel, device 0
Channel IDE primary note, device 1 is connected to your boot disk. It's the hard drive that contains your operating system.

    hope that fix you :)

  • Satellite U300-15s - WARNING: Impossible to be able to control the Volume.

Here are once again this return number...
I have 100 forums comments, tried several methods but without success.

First of all, some background: I have a Satellite U300-15 s, I had to install under XP SP2 for business purposes (sold with Vista). The audio chip is a Realtek ALC268. I reformatted the whole drive, wipping on the Vista recovery partition. My XP SP2 is a Version 5.1 (serial number 2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301 - 1519: Service Pack 2) in English (menus in French). The sound worked under Vista. I installed all the Windows XP drivers supplied by Toshiba on their web site. I updated the BIOS to the version of 15/12/08. When I use the sound mute button, I see the changing icon to mute to mute not (and vice versa).

For the audio drivers, once I discovered this problem, I tried:
-install directly from Realtek drivers out of their website (version 2.12) (uninstall the toshiba drivers, reboot, install the realtek drivers, reboot)
-install the KB888111 and KB198658 (uninstall the audio drivers, install 1 KB, reboot, install second KB, restart, install the audio drivers toshiba, reboot)

Indeed, I tried to reinstall the drivers 10' th time, including multi reboot.

Does anyone of you have an idea?

    Steph

    Hello

The right question is known to me because I had also after installing Win XP.

    The problem is that you need to install MS patches first;
    * KB835221 * and * KB888111 *.

All laptops with Realtek audio chip needs these patches from Microsoft!
After installing the MS patches, you should follow with the audio driver installation.

Secondly, please follow the order of driver installation mentioned in the installation instructions txt file that is located on the European driver Toshiba page!

Last but not least, you should know that the softwarw controls Toshiba is also responsible for Volume control, don t forget to reinstall.

Oh. I forgot to mention that your Satellite U300-15 s belongs to the series of PSU30E!
Choose this option in the form of driver download.

  • The upgrade to Vista seems impossible on Satellite U300

    I have a Satellite U300 psu30a, I come from it.
He had the professional vista on and I wanted to put a partition on it... Make the partitions, formatted it. And when I used the recovery CD, it just now came back to XP instead of vista.

Tried all the different options, including the partition recovery on th hd and always ends up on the xp.
I gave up on linux, now, I want just the vista of return... What should I do?

    Thank you!
    Charles

    Hello

If you really want to go back to vista, then you must format the disk hard INTEGER and cleaning the MBR (master boot record) which stores the information of starting all the operating systems installed.
The only way to do this is to enter a live linux CD (which should not be installed on the HARD drive, but I guess you that) and delete all the partition/format the entire disk. Don t forget to delete the MBR, it s important.

Simply perform your recovery as always, and it should work.

  • Satellite Pro A40 - Atheros WiFi card can't find any network

Looking to correspond with anyone who did it successfully this device works. I repeatedly got messages that the system cannot find any network. With my PCMCIA card, wireless works perfectly.

    Advice requested

    Hey Buddy,

What is your WiFi card listed correctly in the Device Manager? Perhaps only the driver must be reinstalled and then you can use the internal WiFi card again. Here you can download the latest drivers:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

By the way: what OS are you using? If you install OS preinstalled Toshiba using the Toshiba recovery disc are all the drivers already installed, and you should be able to use the internal WiFi card.

  • Unable to connect to any network

Since I moved I can't access any wireless network in the region while other computers can. Help, please.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A110-260 with Windows XP Home Edition with Atheros AR5006EG Wireless Network Adapter.

You mean, you have moved to a different House, and then your wireless network not working anymore? Have you changed some software or some drivers updated?

What service pack is installed on your machine? It would be interesting to know.
Otherwise I recommend you put everything default wireless access point and enable the DHCP which automatically assigns an IP address of your machine. You must also set all wireless related on your computer by default and make sure the wireless card is enabled (make sure the switch bit is slipped on 'ON').

  • Issue of standby, power code: 0x7E - Satellite U300 - 14 p

I just bought my Satellite U300 - 14 p and installed windows XP SP3 0.5508 (deletion of Vista that comes with it), with a custom Windows XP, boot disk made with nLite 1.4.1 (to include the SATA driver and set up my preferences, such as themes, etc.).

I followed the instructions (installation order) that are on the Drivers Toshiba Download Page and everything goes well until installing "TOSHIBA Power Saver"(v7.03.07Q)".
The installation seemed to go very well, but at the end of it, the "critical stop" sound error of windows rang and after go to the control panel and try to open TOSHIBA Power Saver, I get the message:

  • Satellite U300 - white screen after reboot

I have a 3 yo Satellite U300 (with Vista), which was usually in good working order until this morning. It froze a little bit when I had iTunes open so I restarted. He now has a completely blank screen.

I tried to stop and restart several times, I tried to plug it into an external monitor and have tried to remove the battery and drain the power I had read recommended on another forum.

It also seems to be from running as it should (turns on, fan is on, etc) but I can't get anything on the screen.

    Any ideas?

    Hey,.

If you can t get an image on the external display, it appears to be a malfunction of the motherboard, CPU, RAM or anything, but the internal screen should be ok

Hmm. In your case, I had read this article, maybe it helps:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=21

In the worst cases, you need professional help of an authorized service provider. Guys can check your laptop and repair because they have access to the databases of Toshiba and order new parts.

    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite U300 - noise problems

Just got a U300. Beautiful machine, but it's impossible to use in a silent room:

    (1) CPU fan turns on and off all the time; It is calibrated to vary with the temperature of the CPU in a really annoying way: nothing in to 51 degrees, then half speed up to 53 or two, then full blast. Thus, on how high-performance fan continues to go and turn off all few seconds if you do a normal work. So far, the only solution I found is to create a power mode that sets the State of the max processor at 8% and a minimal State to 0%, while the CPU always gets strangled if temperature rises and does never really hot. Of course, this is not satisfactory.

    (2) the hard drive making noises clicking constant (no noise search). I had this before with another laptop, and it's because of the head of parking (car parks the head immediately when it is idle, to save energy). With the other laptop, it was possible to change a setting in the bios for hard drive, disable this special energy saving feature. I was not able to do this with the U300.

Someone has a solution or does anyone know how to communicate with the engineers from toshiba? Problem 1 is easily fixed with an upgrade of the bios setting fan behavior, problem 2 with an update of the bios hard drive, so it shouldn't take much effort I suppose.

Thank you very much in advance for any help / comments etc!

    Hello Skymaster

Satellite U300 is known to me because we have this laptop in our office. It is really nice for laptop and can be taken anywhere. What about these two problems described in your ad?

Cooling fan is perhaps often turned on but, in my view, it is acceptable. Maybe I see it a little different because we use them in our office and it's not so quiet. In any case, I use two laptops from Toshiba for the moment. One with Windows XP Home edition and Vista. I got two of them to work pretty quiet using level lowest for cooling and method using balanced in Vista power management and reducing CPU utilization. On two laptops I na? poor performance of notice and I don't understand why this is not good for you. Of course, I don't know what you're doing with your laptop, but I use it for Office application and I am satisfied.

On HARD drive, I can't write a lot because we na? t notice some serious problem. I don't think the BIOS update can change anything.

I don't understand why you want to communicate with the engineers. They can say, this is just to thank you for your report. I don't see any sense with it. What you need to do is to contact the nearest authorized service provider. Talk with them, explain the situation. They have Toshibaa? diagnostic tools and let s check the HARD drive or motherboard even.

    Good luck!
