In Windows XP sr3 NTDETECT failure

Hi guys of

When I try to boot my system Windows XP SR3 I m getting error NTDETECT failed I m not able to connect please help me

Set the BIOS to boot from the CD first. When you start the computer, you will see a message that says something like "Press F2 to enter Setup". Many computers also will say something like "press F12 to view a menu temporary boot. If you have this option, take it. Insert your XP installation, and installation CD, take the immediate R for repair.  Assume that any requested password is empty or if you have assigned a password for the built-in Administrator, enter this one. Assuming that your optical drive is D:\, type:

COPY D:\i386\NTLDR it\:
COPY D:\i386\NTDETECT.COM C:\

Remove the CD and type Exit. Restart your machine, hopefully in Windows.

Y at - it a way to get arround this or I have to reinstall Windows from scratch? The computer is a Dell Dimension 2400 running Windows XP or at least it was.

    Hello

Many times this is caused when the computer tries to boot from the CD-ROM or a diskette not bootable. First verify that no floppy drive or the CD's in the computer, unless you are trying to boot from a floppy disk.

This error is also known to occur when a memory stick is in a card reader and the computer tries to boot from it. If you have any flash drive or card reader to ensure that no stick of memory is inside the computer. In addition, disconnect all the disks USB, cameras, ipods, iphones, etc. of the computer.

    Resolution:

Repair the file system boot sector or the master boot record (MBR) also try to fix the Boot file.

    Help!

    Roman Hello R,

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable the antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network at the time the anti-virus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2: Put the computer in a clean boot State to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the link step 7 to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

Method 3: You can also manually install updates (KB number) by downloading from the Microsoft Download Center.

    SOLUTION:

The solution to the problem, I met is the following:

Step 1: RESTART your computer, press F8

Step 2: select the first OPTION (depending on the manufacturer of your computer, it may be first or second, and so on...)

The option is: fix my (the) computer

Step 4: It will load the same in SafeMode (just an example), select your OWN USER NAME (though more are available), log in as an ADMINISTRATOR (if you are the one)

Step 5: It will change into a small window asking you connect by using the command prompt: check this option (this may vary according to manufacturing, but it should be there)

Step 6: Now when you log in you should see X:\Windows\System32 >

Step 7: Change of disk C, D or E (essentially select your disk where the OS is installed)

NOTE: If NO leave are present select your ONE and ONLY by CAR.

If left are, for example: D and E (D contains BONES, E contains - your stuff)

Select drive with OS, i.e. D drive

Step 8: After your decision to step 7, it would look like

    X:\Windows\System32\C:

Step 9: The result would now be C:\ >

SO BASICALLY WE ARE ACCESSING THE HDD FROM OUTSIDE

    Step 10: Type Chkdsk/r/f

Step 11: wait for the results

The first 3 steps will be complete as soon as POSSIBLE, the 4th and 5th stage will TAKE ABOUT 120 minutes (variable, based on the hard drive, the computer specifications and especially your processor)

The result should tell you more about the DEFECTIVE AREAS, indexing ERRORS and similar stuff, and also they could be repaired.

    When finished: TUPE OUTPUT

    At the end of OUTPUT

    and REBOOT

step 12: now even ONCE, go to the BACK UP CENTER, launch a NEW BACK UP, it should work :)

  • Failure of Windows 7 install (power failure)

There were 2 second failure yesterday that the computer has installed Windows 7.  He had reached the last step of the installation and was over 60% full.  The computer turns off.  When this guy up, even once, I got the following message:

    "Install Windows".

The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error.  Windows Setup cannot continue.  To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then run the Setup again. »

Then it goes to a screen that says, "the installation will continue after your computer restarts."

After restarting my computer, it starts and gives me the first message asking once again that I have "click OK to restart the computer, and then run the Setup again" and then on the next screen, I get the second message above.  This produces no matter how many times I try to restart the computer.

I tried to 'press any key for bot to CD or DVD.

Then, I get a message that "Windows loading files" and a completion bar.  Then I get a screen that says "Starting Windows" and the Windows logo appears.  Then, I get a screen asking me to select the language, time and currency and keyboard or input method.  After that a screen comes up with Windows and 'Windows 7' logo and a box with "install now".  Also on display are "What to know before installing Windows" and "Repair your computer" I tried 'Install now' and 'Repair your computer' with no success.  The "Repair your computer" option tells me that there are no problems that the OS booted successfully.  I got an option at a point using System Restore and tried, but the message came back that there there is no system restore point and asked if I would like to create a.

The system also asked me sometimes to remove the Windows disc and restart the computer normally and then try to install Windows.  It does not work.  I get the Windows startup screen after what seems to be a normal startup, then it says it's from service before returning to the original message in the upper part of the screen and once again asking me to restart.

I also tried out the Windows disc and reboot and putting in the disc to the Windows startup screen.  This me come back to the same old message that says I have to reboot the computer because of an unexpected error and the installation cannot continue.

I don't know what to do from here.  Fortunately, my old laptop XP still works, or I would be entirely without computer.

What is the solution to this problem?

    Edith

    Try normal mode it self

Try pressing SHIFT + F10, and the command prompt will open.

In command prompt type regedit and it will open the registry editor and then try to go to

    HKLM\System\Setup\Status\ChildCompletion\Setup.exe

Double-click setup.exe, and then change the value from 1 to 3 and press ok data.

    Close the registry editor.

Close the command prompt, and then click ok.

computer will restart, and then it will finish the installation.

In which case you get the new message repeat steps, because it is possible that the registry change has been done successfully.

    Good luck.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Pavilion 17-e119wm Windows 8.1 Revovery failure

I had a bad hard drive and HP sent me a new one with 3 recovery disks. I installed windows 8.1 using the 3 disks and received an installation failure message. No code error, just a message with the option save paper, leave or try again so I retried. Hours passed and I got the same message. Called HP and the woman told me to test for large hard drive. So I wait 4 hours now so that one thing is.

The disk hard original told me there is an imminent hard drive failure to turn on the laptop each time. Other than that works very well... so far. I've had the laptop almost a month now and this problem started too late for me to go back to the shop, grrr.

Is it possible for me to use a recovery disc from the original drive to the new? I'll put that again and do one. I don't really want to return the laptop unless there is no other choice.

Yes. It should work because it was created on the same notebook.

  • Tecra R940 with Windows 7 SSD boot failure

My company bought laptop computers Tecra R940 and replace the HDD with Kingston SSDNow v + 200 V + 120 GB SSD drives. On a test after installing the SSD device, the laptop was rebuilt with our brand image (Windows 7 x 64) that has successfully completed.

Update post however a number of issues is apparent:

1 occasionally during a restart, the laptop will display and then hang at 'starting windows' screen for the Windows logo animation appear and with the light of the hard drive continuously. After a period of time that a Windows recovery is attempted and, possibly, a reported error:

    Status: 0xc00000e9
Info: An unexpected i/o error has occurred

This problem will not occur at every startup, but once every 2 or 3.

    2. the following error message is logged in the Windows system log

    Source: ATAPI
    Event ID: 11
Description: The driver detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort0

I have tried the following to resolve the problem:

    1. update the R940 BIOS to the latest available (6.40).
    2. has confirmed that the BIOS SATA Controller is set to AHCI.
    3. not confirmed there are no available SSD drive firmware update.
    4. install the latest Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver of Toshiba (11.0.0.1032).
5 tried different SSD. Same errors identified, so not a faulty SSD.
6 tried the SSD in a Toshiba Portege R930. In this case the mistakes above are not apparent.
7 reinstall the original HARD disk. In this case the mistakes above are not apparent.
8A confirmed a 2nd unit (with installed SSD) logs the same event ID 11.

My tests left me at a point where I think that there is something bad at the end of R940 with a hardware or software that does not like the SSD.

If someone has solved a similar problem or have thoughts on fixing this?

    Thank you in advance.

Specific installation of corporate images are always full of risks, and quite often, there are different problems. As much as I know in the past Toshiba has created special images of recovery for some companies who ordered a specific number of booklets for employees.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here, but I would like to know if you have tried to install own OS Win7 using the original disk of Microsoft.

I mean that it must be possible to install Win7 clean on the new laptop models. I tested it on my U940 satellite and it works well. I had some trouble with Toshiba specific stuff (tools and utilities), but it was not so important and work with Win7 was possible in any case.
