Thank you.

First: The link above is a document of support found on hp.com that shows how to set up your media center.  It is said "remote" but there is more.

Second: The following link is to your touchsmart product page.  Add it to your favorites if you want to learn more, if you want to solve a problem or get sw and driver downloads so that it is just a click away.  There is even a link to the hp consumer support forums.

Just an employee tries to help.  In my opinion.

Happy computing!

  • F10-136 transmitter cable not included?

I just bought the Qosmio F10-136, according to the Quickstart F10 (number 5) list, there should be an infrared emitter cable, it is not one inside the box
does anyone know if there must be one and the laptop works using infrared?

    Hello

You have posted several messages on this topic. In the first post, you want to know the contents of the box of Qosmio F20 - 136 and now something on F10 - 136.
What cell phone do you have? F20 or F10?

Nevertheless, the F10 shipped only with the power cable, cable Modem (if current modem) and the video cable. I put t found information on infrared cable and I have never heard such cable.

As far as I know the Toshiba remote was delivered with this device. This remote, you can use with the Qosmio player.

  • Try to connect my Sony PVR/DTT player to my Qosmio G40

I'm trying to connect my Sony PVR/DTT player to my Qosmio G40 laptop via windows media player.
Once I have a picture on the S-Vidoe option in the set up TV signal and select next it say s it can not find the IR control cable and does not allow me to complete the whole upward.

What looks like the cable and where can I get a?. Thanks for your help.

Do you mean the control cable infrared?
AFAIK the G40 comes with different parts.
One of the parties should be the infrared emitter cable.

    It should looks like this:
    [transmitter infrared cable. | http://cache3.smarthome.com/images/8170s_n.jpg]

It is necessary if the decoders are no longer responds to IR commands sent from Media Center or if the laptop running MCE does not support the IR transmitter.

    Hi Webber,

Thanks for choosing Windows and thank you for providing an opportunity to help you.

According to the description, it seems that you are having problems with the recording in Windows Media Center.

Your show might not have been recorded for various reasons. To check the history of recording to find out why the show could not have been saved, follow these steps:

a: On the start screen, go to TV + movies , clickrecorded tv , click the view in the application and then click on story.

b: To organize the list, click sort by Date sort by status and sort by title .

c: Use the arrows on the screen to scroll through the list. The status for each show is listed next to the title of the following: Recorded, not recorded, Deleted, canceled, Preempted, partial or bad Tuner.

d: For a more detailed explanation on the State of recording the show, click on the title of the show.

Here are the reasons why a show can't save:

    • There was a conflict with another record with a higher priority. You can see more information about priorities earlier in this topic.

    • A tuner was not available when the show had to register.

    • There is no available disk space and no records could be removed to create more space to record. To learn how to delete records, see management of recorded TV shows: frequently asked questions .

    • There are no offers updated Guide for scheduled recording. Make sure that the latest Guide data is downloaded Windows Media Center. For more information, see troubleshooting problems Guide download .

    • Restrictions that were set by the broadcaster or the creator of prohibited content the show being recorded.

    • The show was previously saved. Windows Media Center does not record a show of a series if she has already recorded or deleted in the last eight weeks.

    • You have reached the limit of how many records are kept for a series. Remove the other records for the series or increase the limit of records how can be kept for a series. To learn how to manage your recordings, seemanagement of recorded TV shows: frequently asked questions .

    • The TV station changed the hourly number or channel for a specific network or the show didn't air.

    • There was no TV signal because the channel was not available, the TV signal has been disconnected or the tuner has been disabled.

    • Your computer is turned off or lost power during the time that the show was scheduled to record. Your computer must be on or standby mode, hibernation or Away to record a program successfully.

    • If you have a set - top box, the infrared (IR) cable may have been disconnected, including preventedWindows Media Center from changing the channel to start the recording.

  • dv5-1004nr, Windows 7 x 64, no sound, please help

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate X 64 on my computer portable pavilion dv5-1004nr. Everything has been working great until overheating lead to black screen. I bought a new motherbaord (claimed again) on eBay and installed.  It seems to work except no noise and touchpad don't right click button does not. It is solid when you use the headset, but no sound from computer speakers. The laptop can produce a strong sound signal, so the speakers should work. they worked before. The waterproof touchpad click the button does not work. When the computer has started, click the button left touchpad behave like the right button. After awhile, the left button becomes normal.

Help, please. I spent a lot of time and everything else I have tried.

I have fixed my sound.  Infrared connection cable Council/plug headphones to the motherboard has been damaged by inserting several times. I used a toothpick to smooth wire tangled and damaged and prevent their touching each other. Now I got his back... I hope my experience can have use for others. I want to thank everyone here for your help and your support.

  • Satellite P100-PSPA3A-05S00P - how to use the remote control & infrared

    Satellite P100-PSPA3A-05S00P.

Do not know if I have deleted the drivers or need drivers for remote control and infrared.
I'm not sure how to activate the infrared but I got this cable look like an infrared receiver, but you don't know where it's going.

I used the remote when I bought the laptop from 1st but it was a few years ago...

    Hello

I think that infrared doesn t need to be activated. It s must already be enabled.
But the remote control can be used within Windows Media Center.
I think this will work because my friend of mouse remote control with Windows Media Center as well and it worked well.

  • Capture TV programs via the cable using the cable box and card Hauppauge

I was doing fine record TV unencripted signal until comcast sent me a box of small encriptación. I have no problem with the help of the box to see the TV programs on a TV, but I can't get the Huappauge card to recognize the signal from the comcast box. I recognize the signal (without going through the box) an antenna that I decked out, but I can't work with the IR signal from the box that changes channels.  I have the cable extension IR remote with comcast box and also have an extension remote IR provided with the computer/hauppauge card.  It doesn't seem to be an outlet on the map, but there are three locations on the computer that are identified as IR Device Manager lists a Hauppauge Comsumer s infrared receiver and an infrared transceiver Microsoft e-Home installed without any indication of error.

How can I get all those guys to play as a team, so I can schedule recording of TV programs again?

    CheckSix

    Photoray002;

The Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1290 sends finally channel change commands TV Comcast decoder box and it is now possible to program the recorder.  I think that the main problems were a failure remote control Hauppauge and a very low external receiver.  It could also have been a few taken IR on the computer that could have internal corrosion of three years of inactivity.

I found two sites that have helped significantly:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01744910

This site showed that the jury of IR extension on the back of the computer could be one of two different configurations - with and without electronics on the expansion card.  He had to open the case to determine where the design has been installed.  Mine was no electronics, but the indications I had followed guess an electronic sign.

    http://www.Hauppauge.com/site/support/support_faq_irblaster.html

This site goes into detail about the implementation of the system using a set-top box.  I couldn't always installation to work because the statement strongly relied on the Hauppauge remote control.  But I noticed in the comments to the screen, another way to use the keyboard rather than the Hauppauge remote control.  Better easier to identify the box system is the first option.  The program will redirect you to point the remote very close to Comcast (touch) to the external IR receiver and press a particular key.  If the receiver receives the signal, it will be a very small red light flashes in the receiver. You may need to move the remote to the receiver to get this light. Once the box is identified the process of implementation of the signal is simple although there will be a lot of channels identified.  You can uncheck the channels that you don't want or you can deselect all channels and the select only the channels you want.

Thank you for your help. He made me go in the right direction.

  • Need remote, power supply, A / V cable and IR transmitter

Hello, I just bought a V-Mate from Amazon, but it came only with the USB cable and the unit itself. The seller claims she only used as a card reader and never received all the 'other' things. Well, what makes it pretty useless unless I can find a source of power, remote control, infrared transmitter and 2 A / cables V. Anyone know where I can find these?

I have a Philips TS1000 programmable Pronto remote if someone has the RTC file that they could share with me. I can also "Butcher" upward a PSU, and I have an infrared transmitter from an old VCR JVC if someone can tell me if it will work. I also have a mini connector 4-pin to the A / V cables to an old video camera, but I need to know what is the pinout, which uses the V-Mate.

I know that this sounds like a lot of work, but I was really excited to try this thing, and then it came with all the missing pieces!

    Thanks for any help.

    Richard

You'd probably better go back and buy one of a 'real' dealer, maybe a brick & mortar store. This way you get a warranty and you have the support of a place to return to for warranty issues or go for any missing piece.

  • Windows Media Center learned remote control cable, cannot recognize the Windows Media Center remote control

Running Vista Home Premium 64-bit.  I rent a cable box so I can get some programs at the 3-digit level.  When I've set up my Windows Media Center (WMC), WMC learn successfully the cable box remote 1 - channel upward.  My problem is the next step and change the channel using the Windows Media Center remote control or keyboard.  My keyboard or the WMC remote will change the channel.

I got Windows Media Center to re - learn the cable box remote control twice, which is always successful, but again once, when the time comes to use the Windows Media Center remote control or my keyboard to change the channel, the channel does not change.

Could someone please help me with this?  Thank you in advance.

    Hey kansascitykid,

If you receive your TV signal through a set-top box and Media Center is unable to change the channel, or it changes channels incorrectly, check the following:

    ·        The infrared diffuser is connected to your remote control receiver. If the infrared diffuser is not connected, Media Center cannot send a signal to the set-top box to change a channel.

    ·        The infrared diffuser is well positioned at the front of the set - top box. If you are having trouble placing the IR blaster on the set - top box correctly, try to use a flashlight to locate the signal on the set - top box receiver.

    ·        IR control codes are configured correctly. If constantly changing channels, control IR codes may not have been configured correctly during the installation of TV signal. To reconfigure your TV signal, on the Windows Media Center start screen, highlight toTasks, clickSettings, click on TV, then clickSet up the TV Signal.

    • Center cannot send a signal to the set-top box to change a channel.

  • Windows Vista Media Center Set up to cable

I want to use the DVR built into my computer.  I have Windows Vista Home Premium 2007.  Two years back I had the computer through the cable interface and attached box IR material.  Tried to hang today but without success.  I don't remember my connetion process.  The cable of the wall runs from the router, and then to the computer?  Is the reason why I have trouble because of the transition from analogue to digital?  There is also a small Franck, and I think it was before incorrporated, but I'm not sure.  I need instructions on the hook upward cables, what anything and everything that is involved.  It seemed very simple the first time I hooked it up.  Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you!

Thanks for your help.  I plugged the cable into the cable and then to the computer box and put on my infrared device.  Everything goes well.  I have another question.  I now use the TV as my monitor and I hooked up via VGA.  I noticed that I have about three inches of black screen on both sides of the tv.  Is there a way to fill the screen?

    Thanks again!

  • Problem: Windows media Center Configuration connection to the digital cable box.

I have HP Pavilion Elite with Windows Home Premium.  How do I get the library to accept the signal from the digital decoder (without additional I.R.).  The signal passes through fine using the S-video input, change channel with the cable, but 'Set up' box control requires I connect "I.R. Blaster (?) covering the cable box sensor which then beats command of other devices (television, etc.) using the cable box.

    Hi M.G.Nichols1945,

What is the exact message that you receive?

You can follow the steps mentioned below to setup windows media Center without using hardware IR (infrared):

    1. open Windows Media Center and go to tasks > settings > TV > Setup TV Signal

    2. click on Yes to the question that appears.

    3. click on the default settings in the wizard until you get to the option where it asks if you want to configure your signal automatically or manually.

4 choose think I will manually configure my TV Signal

    5. Select antenna; Choose analog only antenna after you go through this return to TV settings and click Finish.

    6. now, you should have your installation center media without the use of IR material. You must use the cable box to change channels

You can follow the instructions of the manufacturer of your computer to set up your Digital Cable Ready tuner. So that the Digital Cable Ready tuner receive cable content, your computer must be a specially identified Digital Cable Ready computer.

Do not forget that this upgrade to Windows 7 now.  Thank you

My best guess, not knowing what updates you have loaded, would be that you got a video update from Microsoft that may not be 100% compatible with your laptop.  I would go to the manufacturer website and download the latest video drivers for your laptop and install them according to the manufacturer's suggestions.

    Help me please

A few days before, after upgrading to windows 7 from Vista.  I got my laptop connected to my 47 inch Phillips with HDMI and was doing great.  The next day there was significant (about 40 of them, hardly some I'm sure) updates of microsoft; my laptop kept reset rear to decrease the resolution after the system has rebooted, instead of the 1920 x 1200 I usually.

Anyway, at this point on whenever I plug the HDMI Cable my computer screen making mobile curtains blackout and nothing he will answer to display anything...  I had to unplug the cable and reset it réinitialisez_(: (afin d'obtenir l'écran d' ordinateur portablepour)  If I let the plugins of HDMI cable, it will be blackout after it surging, the ms logo.

Please help me.  Below you will find all the info about my M17x so-called:(honnêtement, n'achetez pas d'ordinateur portable Alienware.)  This thing cost me 5 k and there was nothing else to headaches.  He is a year old and I have no warranty left, so I must rely on the computer guru like you to help me.  Thanks again for the help.

    Hello!

If you don't have a USB cable option more, you will need to use the AC charger.  Certainly, the accessories for this device are not for sale but you can find spare parts on Ebay.

can I set up my computer with a digital cable without these?

Thank you very much for the help.

I have a hp pavilion with windows vista.  When I try to start the computer at a given time cable via the media center TV asks for the IR cable.  If they're not I can't continue through Setup of cable television.  I do not have so much and so well I can't enjoy my cable service.  do I have to have these cables to run cable television?  What should I do?
