"ink cartridges appear 2 b ordamaged missing" shows after clearing jam transport impression. Not fixed type

I have a Photosmart 5520 and use real, new HP cartridges only.

While trying to print, I received an error message indicating that the printer carriage has been blocked.  I opened it and could not move the carriage.  I removed a paper jam and a screw loosened, sitting on the floor of the printer... I turned off, unplugged and on replugged, etc..  At one point, I was able to move the cart.  I thought I had fixed and was ready, but we all know that it is usually not that simple.  Once I could move, I got the error as above indicating a problem with the ink cartridges.  Well, they certainly were not lacking, nor were low.  I took each and replaced, but that did nothing.  Then I took each one and cleaned the contacts of the cartridge so the printer.  I did a Visual check to see if one of them seemed to be damaged or if any debris was in their areas... I have not seen any problems, so hoped I'd be back in business after the own work... but, not luck.  I replaced then shouldn't each of them with an old trick of cartridge although they may be empty or low on ink, I always get this error... I thought that I can get a "low ink" error, but again... Alternatively, was missing or corrupt error on the printer screen.  I tried every method of troubleshooting I've read on... except, of course, replace them with new ones.  I hate to do it because they're all pretty full and who can afford to lose $50 + unless I am told you I have.  It seems all too coincidental he appeared immediately after the transport jam, but I had not done something for the cartridges themselves... and, as I said, I would have expected the 'old' to get rid of the message.  The message could be now what is stuck?  I need to replace my HP laptop to work so badly.  I really don't want to replace my all-in-one too many! I read the other posts with this issue settled after taking action I've tried... Why mine won't get solved?  Does anyone know what I should do next?  As I said, I unplugged and just turn off several times each.

Thank you very much

When I installed a new cartridge black HP, after the existing black cartridge HP showed no black ink on paper, the message on the screen says "Ink cartridge problem - the following ink cartridges appear to be missing or corrupt" and indicated that the black cartridge was at fault.  I tried an another new cartridge HP black and had the same result.

I can't use the print head clean installation/tool while the message remains.

I have reset the printer (several times) by unplugging the power cord from the printer, while the power was on, wait at least 30 seconds and then reconnect the power cord to the printer.  All to nothing does not.

Any help you can give me would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

After having tried many suggestions from the Forum, including cleaning the printhead twice, I abandoned all hope and withdrawn for all connections of my Photosmart C6380 and instead, began to investigate other (not HP) printers.  A few days later (I'm slow nine material selection!), I thought I would connect my printer to my computer for one last try.

    AMAZING RESULT!

The printer has recognized all the cartridges HP 5 as he had already said that the (new) black cartridge is missing or empty.  It then proceeds automatically to clean and align the cartridges, taking more than 10 minutes in the process, and finally it print a sheet showing that the printer was working again.  I had to restart the computer before I could print normal leaves.

It seemed to me that the printer for a long period of isolation meant the printer lost recorded "information" and so had to start again.

    Hello

Many files that SFC cannot resolve are not important.

This creates sfcdetails.txt in C:\Windows\System32 find and you can post the errors in a message

You can read the newspaper/txt files easier if you right click on Notepad or Wordpad then RUN AS ADMIN - then
You can navigate to sfcdetails.txt (in C:\Windows\System32) or cbs.log (in C:\Windows\Logs) as needed.

  • Printer says I have ink cartridges in the wrong housing but they are not

I have a printer HP Photosmart 7510 who keeps saying that I have the cartridge in the wrong slot. All 5 are in the correct locations.

Take a look on the link following which treats problems ink cartridge.  Click here  You did most of these, but do not yet made steps.  The link suggests you clean the contacts again.  Make sure that the cartridges are level with each other.

If this does not help, I suggest you do a reset of the ink system.  To do this, remove the printhead and ink cartridges.  See this link.  Close the access of transport cover.  Follow the reset instructions in the following link.  Click here  Once the printer rear lights up and indicates that the print head is missing, reinstall the print head.  Close the access door.  When the printer indicates one or more of the ink cartridges are missing, reposition one of them and close the access door until the cartridge shows.  Repeat the process until all the cartridges are reinstalled.  This aid?

  • HP Deskjet 3600 series. Initializing ink cartridges? More than 3 partners? s

    Hello:

I was recently offered a printer HP deskjet 3620 or 3650. I have only the manual for it to 3600 series moment.

    There are 27, 28 & 58 ink cartridges.

    My questions are:

1} require initialization of ink as many HP printers do or can I use regular cartridges. The original inks disappeared somewhere in transit.

2} If initializing cartridges are required are they still available?

3} it is my understanding that this printer has never been created or had it ink.

y at - there a way to tell if this is true? There is now no cartridge inside and it appears unblemished, even if all the original packaging has been removed.

4} am I correct to assume that if the ink cartridges installed previously to a point that this printer is useless that the print heads are probably blocked.?

    Please notify.

I saw this place is around the same time that your other post.  If you just want to know about the initial optimization process of your printer for the best performance?  To install ink cartridges are available and are used to prepare the print head, but are not absolutely necessary.  You don't have to contact HP for Setup ink cartridges for him.  You can call technical support at 1-800-474-6836 (US) or follow this link to get the phone number for your country and ask them to order it.  Or call 1-888-999-4747 HP Home and Home Office, but I don't know if you can get them at the store. Just as a previous tech support agent I know I could order setup of ink cartridges.

A lack of alignment can occur if you do not use the first time ink installation cartridges, but I doubt it.  There is no way of knowing if she has never had ink in it before without having already inked and install on the computer in order to access the Toolbox and then choosing to print a test page that may have this information on it.  On newer models,'s called it a Printer Status Report.  It will tell you all about his prior use.

I don't think the printer hangs another ink in there if there is no ink installation cartridges installed the first time.  I don't know the refilled ink cartridges may damage the print head, but I think that you will be sure to use regular ink you'll be safer if you call, your printer is in or out of warranty.

Here is a nice little document all about these issues and much more.  I hope this helps!

  • DeskJet 712C: ink cartridge is stuck in the right side and will not go

I have an old DeskJet 712C printer which was working fine until today. Strangely, the ink cartridge is stuck in the right side of the printer and will not spend. As soon as I turn on the printer, the red light starts flashing. Does anyone know tricks to get the cartridge to move again? Thank you for your help.

    Hello

It may be possible to move the cart if you turn the printer off. Unplug the printer and open the cover of the printer.  See if you can move the carriage by hand.  If possible, move the carriage to the Center.  Check that nothing of blocking the abnormal movements of transport - for example the pieces of paper.

Close the cover and then plug the printer back. I hope this will help.

I found a YouTube video that shows fixing carriage jam on printers C4200 (I know that they are not the same as the 712 C), but some of the suggestions will be useful if my initial thought above does not help.  the video is on this link:

Once again these tips are not specifically for your printer, but they can help solve your problem.

    I hope that was helpful.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8610: HP Officejet Pro 8610 does not recognize ink cartridges

My printer has ceased to recognize its ink cartridges. In a first stage, the problem happened occasionally and could be fixed by installing and reinstalling the cartridges or just wait a few days, but now it is continuous.

When I turn on the printer, it immediately gives me an error (without code), saying that it cannot find the cartridges. All four are marked on the screen as not found. I followed the instructions of troubleshooting here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04090902

The cartridges are genuine, they are the ones that came with the printer. I removed the, checked the contacts of the four. They look damaged or dirty, but used a cloth to clean all anyway. Put back them, did not help. Checked the latch, it was in the correct position. I even tried the restart without result.

I tried to replace the cartridge with a new one (again, product HP genuine), but does not replace the printer either. And because all cartridges have failed at the same time, I can hardly belive the problem lies in them.

I come from Finland, and I've not found a phone number, I could ask for help. Does one exist even for my country?

    Hey @Leathert,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I see that your Officejet Pro 8610 e-all-in-one printer does not recognize the cartridges. I could help you with that, but it seems that you have already found the HP document that will guide you in troubleshooting. Instead, you can contact HP (in Finland) support by clicking this link.

I hope you get your sorted question and I hope you have a great weekend!

  • OfficeJet 4635 cancel the firmware update because my ink cartridges are for older versions of the product

I was happy with my officejet 4635 until I clicked on ok to apply for the HP firmware update. He said that it would improve my printer. However, demand has not said that my ink cartridges may not work if I installed the update. I clicked on ok and the update has been successfully installed. Now I can't print anything because I get an error message saying the I have ink cartridges are designed for older versions of the product. I do not use the new HP cartridges because they cost too much. I used cartridges refilled abacus in Az. Phhoenix which worked fine up until I did the update of the firmware of HP. I need to go back to the old system, so I can print again. I am connected to a desktop computer HP envy running windows 8.1. I'm furious HP to try and force you to buy their new cartridges with an update of something. I think that whoever came up with this update should be fired. Any help with a solution would be appreciated.

I was told that there is no way to undo the update of the firmware. HP did send me a few ink cartridges so I could print again, but I am still ticked about the way this has been ensured by HP. They have not told me that my old version cartridges would not more work after updating firmware. I think that it is simply dishonest on part of HP and I am sure that other customers have been captured by this update of the firmware. I am sure it was a HP effort going to force you to use their new cartridges. I'll be very careful on the acceptance of the updates from HP in the future.
