Insert the active windows system restore CD
My laptop HP G7000 with the version of windows Vista Edition family gets empty with only a cursor arrow showing after trying to start.
This problem occurred when I had a power failure when running the system recovery and was able to complete it. The system keeps asking for active windows system restore CDs
I was able to assess the documents on the hard drive when connected to a system of work
Can someone help me because I do not have the requested CD
Vista Media recovery obtaining and/or using the Vista recovery on your computer Partition to factory settings .
There is no Vista free download legal available.
http://welcome.HP.com/country/us/en/contact_us.html
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Windows vista cannot open network, the Task Manager and the windows system restore.
I have problems with a computer, I'm trying to fix. It is a Dell Inspiron 1420 with windows vista. Whenever I try to open the networking or system restore, I get a window with a white screen. With this blank screen, it's like the computer is frozen, ctrl alt del, break the gel, but when I try to open the Task Manager, it would not come. Another problem is blocking down. Stop taking too long. (maybe 30 min) I did research on the internet to find what could cause something like this and a way to solve these problems, but I came empty. Any information or suggestion would be useful.
Hi Wiseman504,

Host Windows system restore back up virtual machines the VMWare Workstation?
Is it save to perform a restore of the system on a Windows host running VMWare Workstation 9.0.2 with the premises of virtual machines? I just need confirmation that the VMs will be still functional after restoring the system.
Welcome to the community,
System Restore should not touch all personal documents, what configuration file and virtual disk are in reality. However, a restoration of the system can change the parameters of the application Windows for for example VMware Workstation. Anyway most that should happen is that you have to reinstall VMware Workstation in such a case.
see "what files changed during a system restore?" at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/system-restore-faq
In any case, it is always useful to have a current backup!

- Do you have any disk of Windows XP?
I'd say contact Microsoft phone support for assistance. Here is the link: -
Cannot read the CD after you have used the active file system
I use the active file system in Vista to save my work on CD - R. I have often refer to these discs, and occasionally add other files. Once the disk is full, I start a new.
After referencing files on a disc, I pushed the button as usual. The disc was not immediately ejected. A window on the toolbar open and told me to wait and finally ejected the disc. When I tried to use the disc again, I could not access the data. I know that the data is still on the disk. In 'Computer' I see '327 MB 702 MB free space'.
If I click on the drive or try to open it, I get a message "no answer." Finally, I get a window that says to "drag files to the disc to add data. Vista think it as a blank disc.
Is it possible to access data on the disk, so I can save up to a new drive? Also, what hurts which has caused this problem? I don't want to do it again.
Thank you!
BobHello
Check the drive in another computer, better check in several. CD and DVD door, especially
RW. If the question with a single disc? There are companies that may be able to recover the
data if it is quite expensive.Very good idea to have redundant backups.
I hope this helps.

What are the files keep system restore points?
I do a cleaning disc, but every time I did that it deletes my system restore points. What file I have to uncheck to prevent delete my system restore points?
Thank you
Hello
Delete files using disk cleanup
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup#delete-files-using-disk-cleanup=Windows-7Clean all the files on the computer:
System Restore and shadow copies. With this option, you can remove all but the most recent point on the restore disc.
Use system restore to return your system files to an earlier point in time, restore points. If your computer is running normally, you can save disk space by removing the previous restore points.
In some editions of Windows 7, restore points can include previous versions of files, called the shots and backup images created with Windows complete PC Backup. These files and images will also be deleted. For more information about system restore, refer to what is system restore?
I hope this helps.

The mouse only works in the active window and cannot select drop-down menus (W7)
Hello
I can't understand what is the cause. I can only select things in the active window with my mouse, I can't move the window, I can't click on anything whatsoever outside of it.
ATM by writing this, I can not open another program or select the bar of tasks or do anything outside that window. (unless I use CTRL-ALT-DEL and force to select a new active window with my keyboard)
Another thing is that everything works within the window, except one thing, menus drop down, I can bring up the menu drop-down but can not select anything on the menu.
I reinstalled windows to do this same thing. I can't understand why windows doesn't let me choose some things outside my main window, it's that I'm sort of protected mode.
Thanks for any help

-What is laptop or desktop?-What is the brand and model of the mouse? Is it wired or wireless mouse?-Have you tried plugging the mouse on another computer?Method 1: I would also say you update the drivers for the mouse on the computer and check if it helps.Updated a hardware driver that is not working properlyhttp://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctlyMethod 2: Also, I suggest you use Microsoft Safety scanner to make sure that your computer is free from malware and check if it helps.Microsoft safety scanner
http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. The Microsoft Safety Scanner is not a replacement for the use of antivirus software that offers continuous protection. For a real-time protection that helps you keep your home or small office PC against viruses, spyware and other malicious software, download Microsoft Security Essentials.Method 3: I suggest you try to check with the other mice to make sure that the problem is not with the computer. If it is a laptop, I suggest you to check if a FN key function is to to do this. As you are facing the issue after reinstalling the operating system, I also suggest you check with the manufacturer of the computer, if there is this key.Hope this information helps. -
Y at - it a Windows system restore app 8
It is not a metro app, but it is disabled by default because Microsoft wants you to use the update and restore function.
I do not see the advantage of refresh or reset because you lose your programs and files, so be sure to turn it on if your using your PC as a main computer to work.If you have it on a htpc or a ssd and insufficient, on the space just leave off if not turn on -

After just upgrading to Firefox 9 of Firefox 3.6, I noticed that a certain element is missing. In the old version, I could drag the contents of the tab out of the browser or the active window and it would automatically force this content in its own window again. I found this feature extremely useful, and I can do it no longer. That's happened? There just is no longer supported or is this a bug? If it is not supported, how can I reopen the current window/tab in a window again like before?
It works if you drag the tab slightly downwards in the browser window?

How to change the location of system restore
Hi, I can't understand WHERE W8 stores the System Restore Points that I create, so I created a 500 GB Partition on a disk external DRIVE that I would like to use to save files to the system restore and my question is WHERE in W8 can I CHANGE the location of system restore?

Now I have to find a way to DEVELOP (increase in size) if the 'C' Drive to accommodate the pints of restore (I think they take a LOT of space).
Thanks again for your help,
BobHi Bob
As Entegy said, you can set the maximum amount of space that system restore is allowed to use.
The size of each Restore Point will depend on what has changed since the last restore point was created. Only the files that have changed will be saved in each restore point. Each restore point depends on the subsequent restore points.
These restore points are also used when you select this option to restore a previous Version of a particular file or folder.
You can also use the latest cleaning disc to remove all but restore point tool. This will immediately release a lot of disk space.
