Insertion of a CD/DVD

I don't know how to insert a disc into my laptop (Dell Inspiron). Sounds stupid, I know, and believe it or not, I'm pretty tech savvy. So forgive me if I'm just crazy, but I looked at several forums on this topic, and I found only two answers, neither of which applies to me. The first was to push the eject button physical on disc tray (it is not a). The next had to go to my computer and go to the CD/DVD section and right click on Eject. Here, I came across another problem: under 'This PC' (assuming that it is the same as the desktop), there is no "CD/DVD' to 'right click' on. I can usually figure out what kind of things about myself, but I really don't think what happens this time... Help?

    Try to remove the CD/DVD filters in the registry.
    When the associated CD/DVD (such as iTunes, Nero, virtual CD software), the software is installed, they install filters in the registry, which can cause compatibility problems.

    (1) run Regedit (start-> Run-> Regedit)
    2) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    (3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
    (4) restart.

    If your CD/DVD programs stop working, you will need to reinstall them (preferably with an updated version).

    This utility can remove the filters for you:

    My DVD player won't open and a small rectangular orange light flashes when I press the Open button. I checked and the system says that the drive is functional. Anyone has any ideas how to fix?

    The CD/DVD drive provides a small hole. Try using the thin wire and insert it into the hole. This should open the CD/DVD drive manually.

    Hello

    The first thing that I would recommend before you do the radical and re install Windows or upgrade to Windows 7, is to make sure that you have backed up your files. Make sure that you have a separate player and follow the steps described in this article.
    To be honest, it sounds like the drive has gone wrong at this stage. Normally, this sounds like it would be a driver problem, but if you have uninstalled them and are 100% sure that you have installed the good and still no joy, so I think we can exclude.
    Have you tried several discs in the drive, correct? It is not just a problem with the special CD that you use right?
    I would say your best bet is at this time to try another drive on the machine, especially if you do not want to go through the hassle of reinstalling Windows. You may be surprised how well they come these days. The last of them, that I bought on Amazon (I think) was a little more than $25 in the United States.

    I think that the STRANGE must be replaced and in my opinion he s the one and the only solution.
