Inspiron 15z 5523 and WIDI

Does the 15z 5523 support WIDI (wireless display)? I think if purchase Netgear PTV3000, but I'm confused about knowing if it works or not. I'm already planning on replacing the card wireless with an Intel Centrino 6235. Not sure if this makes a difference or not.

My understanding at this point is that I need an Intel I3, I5 or i7 processor and a compatible wireless card and some software Intel in support of all.

Yes, it supports WIDI.  However, get hooked for the first time, was not easy for me.  I just got a 15z with an i7 and a touchscreen.  I had read reviews of computer magazines to indicate that he would support WIDI.  However, the WIDI software was not installed on the computer when I got it.  The computer has rejected attempts to installation of the files that I have downloaded both Intel and Dell support page.  Last night, I spent 2 + hours on the phone with a persistent technician who, after a session of extended software remote assistance has finally managed to install and works.

I was very happy with the computer.  It took a lot more time with the technical support I want, but they don't work WIDI.  To date, it is a new model of computer with a relatively new operating system.  I bet that in 2013 the months pass by, they improve the WIDI support out of the box or software updates.

  • Laptop Inspiron 15z 5523 - 3 beeps, black screen

    Hey guys

Trying to solve a problem with the laptop Dell of the Madame; which is an Inspiron 15z 5523.

1st thing - it is out of warranty, so need to try an auto fix if possible, otherwise I'm sensing it's maybe time for a new laptop for her as well as advice on data recovery will be appreciated on the line.

Is also worth mentioning that it came on a few days after the installation of Windows 10 - unsure if that is related, but it is worth a mention.

The problem is that, whatever happens, we are faced with a blank black screen, without and without LED backlight anywhere. It has now begun beep 3 times in a row that as far as I can tell from the resolution of the problems (here) is a system board failure.

However, for now I did the following:

    • Allowed battery drain and try to run on current alternative
    • Reset the motherboard (using the method of trombone/reset button)
    • Troubleshooted using the link above
    • Confirmed that it was out of warranty

The main priorities are trying to get this working again once and if not, get the data from the laptop to allow us to get on a new if necessary.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Jesse

    Yahooo! Sort!

Thank you guys for your help! It's really appreciated!

A few things I noticed. With regard to obtaining it restarted when the three beeps are going on:

    1. There is no clear instructions "this will always work. Doing the right thing works sometimes and not others.

    2. the most consistent method, I had giving rise to compensation not only beeps, but a successful boot was as follows:

    a. remove the CMOS battery.

    b. remove the main battery or move the little switch under the keyboard (left) in the off position. Just, it disconnects the battery.

    c. press and hold the power button to drain the capacitors (now that the cache is disabled, it's just a little... Silver button so you will need a screwdriver or something to easily press it... better an electric screwdriver!)

    d. leave the computer in this State for a while. At least 10 minutes, but if you encounter some difficult, do the day after. I have no idea why this delay should be necessary, especially after draining the capacitors, but it seems to help to make it more coherent.

    e. replace the CMOS battery, and replace the main battery or drag the little switch under the keyboard to on.

    f. even once, wait 10 to 15 minutes. I have no idea why this seemed to help, but he did. Maybe the CMOS battery did something after being reinserted.

    g. do NOT connect any USB drive. Insertion of a USB key triggers a start in this case. Instead, you just connect the power cable. This will trigger an early upward. Yet once I have no idea why a power cable is better than from the battery, but it once I managed to do start, was after connecting the power cable.

    h. now, he NEVER started first time after connecting the power cable! Instead I let him run for 10-15 seconds, then turns off with the power cable (just a regular... not a helping hand hold). Wait 5 seconds and then again press the power button. Now, it would start upward and within 5 seconds, I see the Dell logo.

Maybe a lot of this is just nonsense "Voodoo", but his seems to be the most coherent way for me.

    So two things:

    1. never started when the CMOS battery was inside. For centuries I took it out as it was easier to put the PC my remove the power cable and power off of the battery of the switch under the keyboard. But he never actually began without the CMOS battery installed.

    2. never started for me with the power cable connected, despite the battery being fully charged.

Now, with the operation of the machine, I did a full factory reset. I don't keep anything. I think it was important, as a precaution against problems later.

If you want to keep the data, then when you're in and running use some backup software. I used a free software called Backerupper. It seems to work.

    http://www.backup-utility.com/free-backup-software.html

Most of the time a 'restart' was allowed to do. Just don't make a power down and then power on again. Sometimes the 'restart' not worked or got stuck and I was at the beginning, but generally worked well.

Then the part reflashing. This bit really took me. It seems that there is more than one type of command line! I was trying to make a USB bootable image Win98 and while it would be starting, I couldn't install the new BIOS.

Instead, what you need is to download a program called Rufus

    https://Rufus.AKEO.IE/

Configure the partition to Partition MBR to boot UEFI and legasy.

    Set to FAT32 file system

Check "create a bootdisk for help.

Box to the right of the "MS-DOS". It's probably already on ISO image, but you want MS-DOS.

It is the MS-DOS which allows for the flash player.

Download the latest Bios from Dell (it's 5523A05.exe) and copy it to the memory stick.

Now paste the memory stick into the USB port on the left side of the computer, the closest of the screen. (It is right next to the HDMI port).

Now, RESTART your PC. As soon as the Dell logo appears, press F12 until the Startup menu appears. Do not wait to see the prompt for F12... I don't think it appears on a restart. So just hit F12 as soon as the Dell logo appears.

Once the BIOS is displayed, there is a list of options. There are "Legasy Boot" options mentioned first, and then "Boot UEFI" under them. In the "Boot Legasy" options, select "USB stick" (or something like that... Sorry I forgot the exact words).

Now, your computer should boot from the memory stick, and displays a prompt C:\.

    Type a 5523, 05 /forceit

If all goes well, you will have some instructions on disabling is not your computer and the update will happen and then the computer will automatically reboot and your problems should be more!

This taken... maybe update process 2 minutes... but there were times where I thought it was to do nothing and had crashed. So don't be too nervous. Just let it do its thing.

I hope this has been helpful to others. I really appreciate the help I received here. If nothing else, the encouragement helped keep my spirits alive!

One from a different angle, the customer service Dell never rang me yesterday. But tonight, they called on my phone at home (are requested to call my cell phone). This lady was very nice and said that, as this laptop seem to be completely incompatible with Win 10 as evidenced by many users having issue, he would send a Dell technician to change the motherboard for me for free! At this point, the laptop was running and I was about to try to Flash the BIOS, so I told him that I thought not that it was the motherboard, and she offered send an engineer to look at and diagnose the fault and fix it.

As I was so close to fixing myself I asked him to hold off and check with me tomorrow :) But at least they have offered to help him. A little behind in the offer, but they did end.

So if you are struggling with Technical Support tell them that you are not satisfied with the request to pay for the repair and ask that someone from customer service call you.

Good luck! And thanks again to all who helped me a lot!

  • Inspiron 15z 5523 Ultrabook turning is not on - no response

Hello, got my laptop about a month ago and was working fine up until yesterday. I had just closed the other night after charging. Then, there was nothing - no boot, no LED with charger, no fan. I checked the charger works no doubt, so I'm afraid that there is a problem with the motherboard. Since this is a ultrabook, I could not remove residual electricity because the battery is built into the laptop. If I could get some advice from withdrawal, as well as possible alternatives, would be great! Otherwise, I wonder if it would be possible for a technician to come have a look ASAP? I am a college student and I have no way to make it in the center of repair :(

    Hi Kathartic,

I suggest you try the diagnostics running in the press and with the Fn button and turn on the laptop and the diagnosis to select from the list. If the diagnostics displays an error, please answer with the error of law.

If it is impossible to run the diagnostics are looking for beep or flashing Lock lights up when the system is turned on. Also check the status and the color of the power indicator and include in the response.

Also check the State of the adapter LED, LED on the AC adapter is not lit (when it is unplugged the laptop), reinstall the brick and cable. Still, if the led on the AC adapter is off, replace the power cord & adapter only, otherwise follow the next step.

If the AC adapter LED goes out after connection to the laptop, the problem may be the motherboard of the laptop.

  • "No Audio output device is installed" Windows Dell Inspiron 15z 10

The audio on my device has stopped working. Audio icon in taskbar displays a red as if X cut, when you hover over the icon, it displays the error "no Audio device is installed". Checked in the Device Manager unable to find the right option. Installed the Realtek HD audio drivers on the Realtek site without solution. Help, please?

You can get the drivers for the Inspiron 15z 5523 html page. Use the driver to Win 8.1 (marked 'WB64A') or one of the ones Win7. First, go to Device Manager and right click on the Realtek Audio device high definition to open the context menu, then 'uninstall' and check the box "delete the driver for this device."

When you restart Windows deletes the Realtek driver and install sound driver audio native. See if audio works. Then you can install a driver IDT native driver without deleting everything first.

If the driver IDT or the native can help, try to return to your previous operating system. If the audio still does not work then the material has probably failed. If this does not work in the previous operating system, and then perform a new installation of Win10 and see if it works.

Well, tell me how it works,

I have dell inspiron 15z with 500 GB hard drive with laptop want to exchange it to 120 GB ssd, but I can't because no media to reinstall and the whole system is on hard Bank...

I tried to do with software usb recovery dell preinstaled originally, but when I start to install the ssd system it gives me the error message that the new hard disk must be at least 465 GB

I tried to copy the partition that I tried to do the recovery with another software image, it simply does not. When I tried to install win from another cd that he refuses the number series, even when I used the same version. instead of this test of dell to kill my mood why don't they have just not preparing the software backup and restore Dell to facilitate the use and for SSDS too?

I would gladly appreciate any help

    Hi Thomiq,

The backup and restore software would seek similar configuration during the restoration. If the hardware is changed the original image may not work.

At this point, I see that you will need the operating system disc to reinstall it on the SSD drive. • power adapter light turns off after plugging in the Inspiron notebook (5523)

I have an Inspiron 5523, and it was working fine, until early today. I went to plug the thing to do, and it would not charge. Instead, the light on the power supply unit to the adapter stops, or would flicker. This happened with 2 load cables. I'm looking at a motherboard dead, or something else?

    Hello N108bg

    Please write to us.

If the light on the adapter stops when it is connected to the machine, we look at a dead motherboard.

    Help!

So why didn't it connects to your router on the 5.0 GHz band?

Did you have to do something special for your other 5.0 GHz Wireless N cards to connect to your router?

    Answer to?  N °

Then explain to me why you can't connect to the 5.0 GHz with the AC map Strip?

HP has put the designation of expertise because I have solved thousands of questions from members of the forum, not me.

It's not my problem if you cannot accept the facts of the case.

Of course, it's a card dual band.

On the band of 2.4 GHz and AC on the 5.0 GHz band Wireless N Wireless.

If you want this map to be able to connect to the 5.0 GHz frequency, then you need to upgrade your router to router dual-band wireless AC.

  • Conflict of Bluetooth and WiDi: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160

I have a HP Envy 17 laptop t-j100 with 4th generation CPU i7-4700mq as well as the NIC Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160.  The Wifi and Bluetooth worked well. However, Bluetooth has stopped working and has disappeared from the list of devices in Device Manager after you install Intel WiDi software.

Can Bluetooth and WiDi coexist on this map of 3160 AC? If so, how to make two of them work?

    I appreciate your kind help.

Hello gyshen, welcome to the Forums of HP.

I see that you have a problem with the Bluetooth works on your laptop after installing software WiDi. I will try to help you with this.

What do you mean, by installing software WiDi? Where have you installed this from?

Deepen the question for you and to answer your questions, both can "coexist" using the map Intel AC 3160. This is confirmed here: Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160.

The processor is also supported: Intel® Core™ processor i7-4700MQ.

I suggest try to update/install the two drivers (without wireless/bluetooth). They are here:
    Driver LAN wireless Intel 7260/3160
    Driver Bluetooth 4.0 Intel

I'll also give you this document: Using Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) of media to your TV display as it can be useful to you.

These are the most recent provided by HP to your laptop.

  • Dell Inspiron 15 5559 and Cortana & microphone problem

I read over and over again, it was the Inspiron 15 5559 microphone works, but will not work if you try to use Cortana. I returned two of these units and all had this problem. Now, I found that if I back the Realtek Audio driver, the microphone works according to Cortana. But the question becomes as the equalizer cancelled also, making the speakers almost unhearable. Can we get someone to be updated the Realtek drivers to work properly with Windows 10 and Cortana? It's been months and months and still there is no update driver to resolve this issue.

    beamermt79
If you know the RealTek chipset on your laptop, its possible you can go to the Web to RealTek website and download a driver generic windows 10.

Hello. The chip in the Inspiron 15 5559 is Realtek ALC3234, but all we need to know in order to get a driver from Realtek, is either an AC97 (before 2006) chip or a HD chip. Here is the path

    1. go to the Realtek download selection page. www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads
    2. on the page, click on 'High Definition Audio Codecs.
    3. check "I accept", then "next".
    4. (optional) in the column named "Description" find the file named README and download it. Who has the instructions for the installation or update.
    5. in the column named "Description" select your operating system and if it is 32-bit or 64-bit of 2 choices in the list.
    6. in the column named "Download", click one of the server names to download the driver.

  • Office 2010 is preinstalled on Dell Inspiron laptop computer and does not now update

I don't know why but I have 19 updates for Office 2010 by train, every day, to settle and I get error messages. This has happened for months. Microsoft support, they tell me to use the Office product key but the software is preinstalled and I don't have a CD. I also have problems with what is called ' Microsoft Office single Image 2010 "that is installed and then, immediately cancel the installation.

At Microsoft telling me to come to Dell, because the software has been installed by your company. I don't know what to do and I probably spent hundreds of hours trying to find ways to work around this problem, repair the program or repair. I was not able to work on Office documents since January. Also, I try to use your support system, but the diagnostic tests never end! They can run for hours (and they are supposed to take 2-10 minutes) and they just keep whirring, never let me go forward in support seeking processes.

You can just give me the product key for Office 2010 software installed on my Inspiron N5010 running Windows 7? It's my fourth Dell computer but it has been so frustrating, it could be my last. The rest of my family has Mac and they don't seem to have any of these problems.

If you have Office 2010 preinstalled and he is not the Starter version, your key must be a map of MPI:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/download-Microsoft-Windows-and-Office/Download-Microsoft-Office/Microsoft-product-identity-MPI-card/

However you can get it from Belarc Advisor as its already installed:

Links to download Office are given here:

If it was the Starter version, it is completely obsolete and replaced by WebApps:

  • Dell Inspiron 1525 Wireless and battery problems

Hey! So, I recently dug my old laptop, a Dell Inspiron 1525.

When I started it, it's horrible and basically endless sequence of beeps. Then finally he started on. Battery says "plugged in, not charging" and when unplugged the computer turns off. The Wireless does not work. I tried the switch on the side, and I tried to install the drivers from the drivers disk and a USB port with the updated drivers, I got from Dell. The wireless is not working. I have re-installed Windows Vista 32-bit. (The default OS) and still no luck.

Any thoughts? Anything I should try? Thank you. :)

    Hello

To get the deleted password BIOS you will need to contact Dell Technical Support.  We cannot do that here on the forums.  You will need to contact them (probably by telephone) and be able to verify ownership of this system in order to reset the password for them.  They will ask you things like the name and address of the shipping system was initially sent, the name of the owner (in archives), etc.

If you don't know that information you can go to the online form for change of ownership of the American (he has a link to the international on this page if necessary) and the system of re-registration in your name in our system.  If you do not have this information, you will need to contact the original owner to get it, or call our Technical Support team and they will be able to give you a better idea of what they need.

Reset / flashing the BIOS will allow this system to "see" the card if it is not currently (and until the card works).   Which should allow drivers, etc., will be installed, which theoretically should allow you to get out of the internet with the wireless connection.

  • Inspiron One 2330 and VGA/HDIM entry port

    Hi all

I'm about to buy a Dell Inspiron One 2330. I wonder if the video input port (VGA/HDMI), can be used without starting Windows 8. Some PC all-in-One (other suppliers) have this feature.

I saw in the existing button configuration Guide "Input Source Select / widescreen" on the right panel.

This allows to turn on the screen without using the "Power" button (and then without starting Windows 8)?

Thanks in advance for your answers

    Kind regards

    Brice

    Hi Brice,.

I'm sure that the answer is no. The system must be started so that the display shows an external image. I have some experience with the 27 a XPS and it's the same configuration.

I'd like to see the system works as you describe. Be able to read a DVD or BD movie without starting Windows or an external video signal. If it's any consolation, the startup time in these all-in-one systems is remarkably fast.
