Inspiron 3650 PCI or PCIe?

What (bus) interface are the slots of 4 extension at the back of my new 3650 Inspiron - are PCI or PCIe? I want to buy a controller card Firewire IEEE1394a (p/n 341-1097) of Dell U.S. (I live in the United Kingdom). It is described on the Dell site we http://tinyurl.com/zjp9aw4 like PCI and I need to know if it will fit.

Any help greatly appreciated,

The Inspiron 3650 doesn't support PCI, PCIe only [x 1 & x 16] cards are supported.

I want to add a new hard drive to my new Inspiron 3650. I have the sata cable, but looks like I need to buy a power cable. What I should buy and where can I get a? Thank you

I had the same problem trying to get the secondary sata power cable to the sata 2.5 drives. In the first command, they sent me the primary sata power cable that has only a single sata power connection and a connection from dvd player. P/N = KC81G. The sales rep insisted it was the right cable.

I called back and discuss it with another sales who has been able to help me. She said yes, there are 2 different reference numbers and the correct is P/N = GP2JM. Once I received it I installed it and it worked perfectly.

The part costs $4.99 with free shipping.

Oh, they have no photos to show what they look like.

  • Enable multiple monitors Inspiron 3650

Looking for activate the monitor output on my motherboard on my new Inspiron 3650 but could not find the option. The other monitor vga output works fine. Help, please

Assuming that you have a video card, restart, and then press F2 to open the BIOS Setup. Look for the Intel Multi Monitor (or a similar name) option and set it to "Enabled". Save the changes and exit the installation program.

Assuming that you have a video card, a monitor must be connected to the card before you turn on or you will get an error message.

If you don't have a card and have integrated graphics Intel HD, I don't know if the Multi screen option will be visible in the BIOS Setup, or you can use the monitors connected to both VGA and HDMI ports shipped at the same time...

  • New Inspiron 3650 - how to add an SSD

I recently got my new i7 Inspiron 3650 with a 2 TB HARD drive. I need to add an SSD to the machine and need advice on how to do it.

First question is: is it possible for one SSD + HDD in this computer? Or is it limited to a single player?

Open the case, I see that there are 4 units of SATA data cable (2 available) on the card mother, however there is no available additional power cable. The single power cable has two connectors, a session on the HARD drive and the other to the DVD player. How can I add another cable or splitter to route power to the SSD?

In addition, there are available for a 2.5 drive bays ", but I need an enclosure for mounting the drive. Is there an add-on Dell blue plastic mounting kits available for this? Otherwise, I can get the generic Assembly for this kits.

I would appreciate if any part numbers/accessories from Dell can be recommended to achieve this.

    Thank you.

    Hi Hkhawaja,

Yes, you can certainly have an SSD and a HARD drive, and I suppose you want to put the OS on the SSD.

This thread offers answers to some of your questions. And here is the link to your manual.

I have a link below for a very nice Windows reinstallation guide, which will help you to download an ISO of 10 Windows you can use to install the OS on the new drive.

  • Advice needed on the desktop Inspiron 3650

    Hello world

I need to buy a new desktop computer and I had a look at the new Inspiron 3650.

It is in my budget and seems to have pretty decent specifications for what I need, I'd go for the model i3 with 8 GB of RAM at £349. I would like to know if this would be good for the upgrade in the near future. I would like to add a graphics card dedicated, a pretty cheap, less than 70 pounds, nothing complicated and maybe upgrade the processor at any given time. Do you think that this office would be appropriate?

I mainly use for browsing web, web design and development work so I'll use things like dreamweaver, photoshop, etc., maybe some video basic editing as well, I don't use it for games. My budget is only £450, but I might go to 500 books to a boost if you can recommend anything else, so it comes with a monitor.

    Thank you.

    Hi PS4Gamer78,

You must call the sales department in your country for prices and specifications. We are in the United States and do not have access to your listing of countries or prices.

  • New inspiron 3650 won't start

Saturday, I had a new inspiron 3650. I ran through the stuff to start and then I have it turned off and tried to install a new video card. The video card requires more energy than the 3650 has so I tried to replace the power supply. The new power supply was inconsistent with the 3650 so I put back the power SUPPLY original and the GPU. Now when I try to run just the power light blinks yellow. Fans start, but there is no input or output. That is, the monitor has no signal and the keyboard and mouse do not work. I have no idea of what is happening and any help would be appreciated.

Support perhaps is not available, because the Inspiron 3650 specifications say that only 1 x 3.5 "hard drive is supported, but hard 2 x 2.5" drives are supported, see page 12 here:

  • Inspiron 3650 comes with Win10PRO. What is the procedure to downgrade rights WITHOUT having to purchase a new license of Win8.1pro?

    Hello

just bought 4 3650's with preinstalled Win10pro inspiron. For enterprise applications, I need to win8.1pro must be installed on the machines. Microsoft (and Dell) claim the right to downgrade grnat to the pro version of Win10 to Win8.1 pro (what I need)

Is there someone who has the correct procedure to do? I called dell and Microsoft every day without success :-(

    Concerning

Well, I followed the method of downgrade described by Philip Yip and during the telephone conversation with Microsoft active rep my new installation of Windows 8.1 pro.
Here's what you need to do:
1 extract you Windows 10 Pro BIOS key using produkey-64. Write it down.
    2. go to the Microsoft web site to create a true Windows 8.1 Pro installation support: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8?wa=wsignin1.0
    3. do a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro using the generic key mentioned above in the post by Philip Yip
    4. Alick to activate Windows, and then select telephone Activation
    5. call using the number displayed in the activate dialog box
    6. Microsoft representative say that ' you have Windows 10 Pro and you want to run your downgrade rights to Windows 8.1 Pro»
    7. they will ask you your key Windows 10 Pro to make sure it is valid and will confirm that you have the right to downgrade
    8. after that, they could connect to another representative - repeat what you mentioned in step 6
    9. they will ask you installation ID
    10. after that they'll ask you which key you used - tell them generic key
    11. Finally in my case instead of telling me the activation ID - they gave me a new product key for Windows 8.1 Pro who, after entering got my Pro 8.1 active Windows.
Maybe in your case - they will give you an activation code.

In any case - it's fully working method.

  • How to install a preconfigured desktop inspiron 3650 hd?

My Dimension 9200 about 10 years just died of BSOD. Tried to diagnose the error codes. Abandoned and sent to a workshop. They tried with new ram, cards etc without success. They said faulty motherboard due to some burned / doesn't have a capacitor. Decided to get a new inspiron with a better OS and CPU.

Still waiting for the pc to arrive. Want to install the hd (vista) dimension as a 2nd hd on my Inspiron. I can't get the files I want.

I would like if possible, find out how. Plugin just the old hd on the motherboard?

My old hd a C and D drives.

    Thank you

Assuming that the old HDD is a SATA drive, you should be able to plug into a SATA port that is not used on the new PC.

Do not expect to start from the old HDD.  And no matter what program you used previously should be installed in Windows on the new PC. You will not be able to run any software that sits on the old HARD drive.

All you will be able to do is to access your personal files on the old drive. You can copy them to the HARD drive that comes in the new PC, or use the old HDD for extra storage or backup copies of the files on the new disk.

  • Cannot get Windows 7 or 10 on NEW Inspiron 3650

New computer, less than 3 weeks old. Reference Dell 3650 Intel i5-6400. I don't know what you need to know? SATA, Bluetooth, wifi, HD 1 TB, Nividia graphics.

They never sent me the system drivers/operation right out the box records when Windows 10 had a few teething problems minor during the first week of use (and me being semi biased against him anyway since I'm generally a Win7 user) I decided to go back to Win 7. I used the Micrsoft tool for USB flash burning and installed Win7 Home Premium. The installation took, but without my factory drivers drive most of my drivers were not installed including my ethernet network card and wifi so I was DOA. Called Dell, they have been great and sent the discs the next day.

I had a few problems with the drivers, they sent me does not install/work and I thought okay although they are 10 for my build windows drivers. I should have stopped, worked on getting good win 7 drivers for my network card got hooked to the net and ran windows update or update my drivers manually from the Web site. I don't have. :( Instead I went to work to put Windows 10 on it and that's where the problems started...

    Errors... tons of them...

    Disk locked

    Missing partition

No bootable device... Changed to a legacy secure boot disabled startup. Not much better and no luck. Ran chkdsk that everything works well, so this seems to be the software problem.

Then, I found that it had deleted my recovery disk that I didn't see what he listed more... The disc only I see is my 1 TB almost hard drive now, is that correct? I let fall to win allows 10 and thought ok try again 7 since it worked once. From what I can tell there is no operating system on this subject either right now. I decided to do a clean install of windows 7 and I formatted my drive C to NTFS. I changed the boot order so it could start on my USB which is where I got the image... and the windows 7 files started to load. Now I get:

CD/DVD device driver when installing win7 error. Nothing I try works. I tried many fixes posted on the net for this mistake, passage to usb 2.0 and others and nothing works. I tried to put my INtel drivers on a flash drive, but it does not recognize. I'm stuck. What should do?

I am novice to intermediate when it comes to all of this.  Years, I scoured the forums looking for answers and I've always been able to solve my problems of software, this is the first time I actually posted a question.  I don't know where to go from here. If only I could get an OS on it I feel like I could get this computer up and running, download the drivers installed etc... Is it possible to install drivers without operating system? Is there a work-around that works for me for this constant cd/dvd driver error during the installation of windows 7?

Help... Laughing out loud... Had 3 days ago. The computer works fine apart from that, and I didn't have to ship in return. I have at this point, he can't return to the store by their return policy, but it is under warranty from Dell. It's my fault for trying to go down and update without driver disks. What should do?

You need to F6 and Secure boot OFF, ON Legacy CSM drivers.

And you can not delete a Windows 10 partition with windows disk 7.

  • Install an SSD in an Inspiron 3650 I7 6700 16 GB Ram 2 TB hard drive Amd R9 380 graphic and running Win 7 Pro 64-bit

    Hello:

I have the above referenced PC and want to add an SSD (boot with OS drive).  I would like to make this my c: drive ssd.  I want to keep the Windows 7 operating system.  I made the disarmament recovery disks I opened the PC.  I don't want to win 10.

Could someone with their infinite knowledge teach me throughout the procedure with pictures if possible?  What parts do need me if any?

    Thanks in advance

    Tom

I thought I was doing a 512 GB SSD.  The system came with Win 10 Pro 64 bit installation floppies, but I'm used to and prefer to use Win 7.  The idea of cloning seems interesting.  In fact, it looks to the ticket.  What cloning software is recommended.  The priority of the boot in the BIOS change after cloning?  I am concerned with what type of SSD should I purchase (interface, transfer rate, etc.), what cables, if any, and which adapters will be necessary?

At work, I have all my computers run with SSD (OS/startup) and they run like rockets.  This new computer runs great, but with a SSD for the start, program files, "scratch disks", I'll be in the drive hyper.  I'd be in Mary for a bargain price.

Yet once again, thank you very much for you answer quickly.  I have several Dell optiplex computers in office and did not have a problem.

Thank you once again to Osprey

    Tom

  • Inspiron 3650 does emit any beeps at startup upward. Does?

Seems to work well, less than a week old. I was expecting a beep at startup upward, but I hear nothing (unless it is very quiet) I should wait for a beep code. Unable to find anything in this regard in the manual. I have a S2316H monitor with built-in speakers attached via the HDMI.

Any thoughts appreciated please. Thank you.

With more recent versions of the UEFI BIOS, there is no beep at the STATION, unless there is a problem. Now, the POST beep means generally: card system: the BIOS ROM failure.

A while back, Dell has a brand-new model giving the 'normal' beep at the STATION, but confused users with the motherboard beep fault code beep.

This led to many mothers unnecessarily replaced under warranty. Dell has subsequently removed the 'normal' beep to the STATION in a revision of the BIOS and saved the lives of many mothers!

  • DELL Inspiron CPU fan 3650 did not respond ERROR

    Hello

I would like to help here. I recently bought DELL Inspiron 3650 and when I started the computer for the 1st time, error below came out.

When I clicked on the button continue, the system will restart and the error will come out again but sometimes the system will continue to enter the window and does nothing wrong. I can use the computer without any problem.

But whenever I restart the computer, it will show the error once again and I'll do the same for you to connect to the window.

I therefore decided to open the side cover of the computer to do some Visual checks, if something wrong inside. It's the image inside

Question: Did I miss a fan on top of my CPU? or it is a standard installation of office budget?

You must contact the Support Dell technique since it is a new PC.

  • Inspiron or XPS8900 for MOM

    Greetings,

I recently bought a XPS8900 for me, and well, I like it. Now, MOM wants a new computer. She is a pretty light user, mainly the navigation and other light duties. I think that the XPS8900 is more than she needs and seeks to the Inspiron 3650; W10, 8 GB of RAM, 1 TB of HDD, integrated graphics. There is only one slot m2 with wifi installed in it, so add SSD to the bottom of the road will be more involved. Thoughts?

The Inspiron 3650 should be just fine for browsing the web, and as you say, light functions.

As for the SSD, you can replace the disk 3,5 '' SATA, with one or two 2.5 "SSD, instead of using the M2 slot, see pages 31-40 here:
