Install problem with HP OfficeJet 6500 E709n Windows 8 software

Hello

I recently got a new laptop with 8. I tried to install the full package of Software Solution as prescribed by HP through their support pages.

I already have the basic drivers via hppiw.exe

I downloaded the full program of the Solution, but get this message while trying to install:

"The C:\pr4.00gram files (x 86) path contains an invalid character.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

WE HAVE SOLVED!

I ran a unistall hp drivers that were already here on my system as you suggest, then run the installer of complete software functionality that I already had but would not install. Print / Scan / Solution Center now works perfectly as on my old XP machine.

Thanks for your help Advance23... Bravo to you!

  • Strange problem with HP OfficeJet 6500 709n

I have a very strange problem with my printer HP 6500 E709n wireless network.  I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 and everything worked well.  Then, all of a sudden I wasn't able to scan more.  The HP Solution Center says that the printer is disconnected.

The weird part is that it appears in the section of Control Panel as active and properly connected printer and devices and I can still print to it, but not scan to it. He also says in the network section of the HP solutions center that the printer is connected and ready.  The printer is connected to my wireless network and I also use it with a Mac Mini.  The Mac can print and scan to it.

No idea why this is happening and how to fix it?  Thank you.

This problem of not being able to scan only started after upgrade to Windows 8?

If so, then to solve the problem, you must first uninstall the Windows 7 software and then reinstall the software of Windows 8 long.

To uninstall the software, follow these steps:

1 right-click or press on and hold the lower left corner of the screen, then click or type programs and features. A list of installed programs.
    2. click or tap the name of your HP printer, and then click or tap on uninstall.
    3. follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the software.

After you have uninstalled it, go ahead and download the full software features for your printer. It can be found on the link below.

Driver and HP Officejet Full Feature software

Install this version of the software and try to scan now!

Let me know if it works for you, good luck!

  • Can't scan with HP Officejet 6500 E709n Wireless

I've used the scanner before without any problem. I have Windows Vista. I tried to scan yesterday and got the message: no scan options and refer to the documentation for the device. I ran the diagnostic analysis, HP Scanner TWAIN of the scanner did not and then the HP scanning application no longer works and I got the message to remove my printer software and reinstall. I did and received this message: the old version of HPSSupply cannot be deleted contact technical support. Fatal error and MSI. SUBCOMMITTEE. I was initially using the wireless printer. Since yesterday, I reinstalled the software twice and tried both wireless and USB cable. No luck with either.

P.S. I tried reinstalling again and got another fatal error message, this time with a number: 1714. Then I looked at the HP site and found the message below. The problem is that I have Vista, not XP. Now what? Thanks in advance for any help.

    Question

    Hello

Step 1: HP has designed a quick and easy tool that diagnoses and solves many problems of printing, scanning and connectivity: The HP Print and Scan doctor. HP recommend you to download and install Print and scan doctor no matter what time you need to solve a problem with your HP printer from the link below.

I would like to know what are the errors you receive?

  • OfficeJet 6500 e709n availability of software for Win 7 wireless

I write here because I've already tried the technical support and has received virtually no response. I would like to know when I can expect full features software for my printer. I don't want to hear that I can use the driver in windows 7, because if I wanted a basic printer I would have bought one. Windows 7 has been long enough for hp get the software ready to use with these printers. I checked on the software for the basic version of this printer and the hp site says that it will be available in late November. This is BS, I buy a computer from you guys with win 7, but I can't get a printer that works. I have three computers networked with this printer that I intend to switch to win 7. I have already invested in the operating system, but I can't do shit until I can get full function of hp software. If there is someone who can tell me why there is no software yet and when there is when it will be available? If I have to wait until the end of November so I guess I'll need to go to a printer, another manufacturer who took supported by their products.

    Thank you

I saw a link in this thread for the series 6500 Win7 drivers that are available. If you have not already downloaded it, here is a link to the page of the 6500 Series. Select your model, the version of Win7 you use, and download drivers.

  • Impossible to scan more with my Officejet 6500 E709n

    Hello

After changing my router WIFI Internet, my printer ALL-IN-ONE cannot be, like a scanner connected to the computer. My Windows 7, 64 bit refuses the HP driver. Printing is still possible after installing a UNIDRIVER on the computer and a manually enter an IP address in the configuration of HP.

    What should I do?

Thank you in advance for an answer.

    Thank you for your response.

N ° this method does not resolve the problem. I already tried before asking for help.

The only method that worked successfully was to REMOVE all files and folders in the TEMP folder, restart the installation, which dates back to the TEMP folder, open the folder, starting with the 7Z, go to UTIL, then CCC letter and run the uninstall_L4.

Then run Disk Cleanup, download and install the latest version of ADOBE FLASH PLAYER, then go back to the 7Z file and double-click the file SETUP. EXE

    IT WAS MIRACULOUS.

    Hello Steveb72

Files in 7z folder mentioned, is what was extracted from the installer that you downloaded. You are able to indicate the installation prompt to the temporary folder?

I suggest to do the following:

Follow the steps below to clean the software, and then reinstall the printer. These instructions may be similar to what you have already done but are more complete and includes the following steps to remove all temporary files to make sure that nothing interferes with the installation.
    1. open %Temp% and delete all the files in this folder. There may be some files that may still be in use, and you can ignore these files.
2 download the full feature software and drivers

OfficeJet 6500 E709n Full Feature software (XP)

    3. double-click on the downloaded file to extract the files
    4. once the software install window press Cancel or Exit to close the Setup program
    5. type % temp % in the field run or search programs and files.
6 find the starting with 7z folder (example: 7zS2356)
    7. right click on 7z file and choose copy
    8. close the window by %temp% and then right click in the middle of your desktop and choose Paste
    9 open the 7z folder
    10 open the Util folder
    11 open the CCC folder
12 run the Uninstall_L4 and then follow the instructions on the screen to remove the software.
    13. when the software has been removed, restart your computer
    14. run the Accessories\ System Tools Disk Cleanup
15 open the 7z desktop folder and run the setup.exe file to reinstall the printer.
I would like to know if you still have the same issues?

    Help!

Hello @Jörg63, hope you are well!

Welcome to the HP Forum! It is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get help and advice.

I understand that you are having problems after update to Win 10 of scanning to PDF. I would like to help.

I'm afraid that HP Solution center may not work in the Windows 10 environment due to some compatibility problems.

I suggest that you use HP Scan and capture request instead. Capture and scanning HP is a simple application that captures photos or documents to your computer's built-in camera or scanning HP device.  These images can be previewed, edited, saved, and shared to other applications as well.

Go to http://hp.care/2bUVkrw to download and install the windows scanning and Capture app.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance

  • Install HP Officejet 6500 E709n failure - can't see the printer on the network

My HP Officejet 6500 E709n refuses to acknowledge that he is already on the network a specific IP address and used by other computers in my house. How can I get this software install to work?  I have to let Windows 7 install its own version, which worked (sort of).  I prefer having the center of solutions for scanning, but the HP install software (full version), in contrast to the MS Windows 7 software, can't find the printer on the network, even when I give the software the exact IP address.

(Yes, I uninstalled all the pieces I had to uninstall in Control Panel by the NSB instructions re-re-re-install software page.)

    Hi rchimes,

Thank you for the update. If you are unable to get the problem solved after using the doctor print and Scan follow the steps to scrub the software on the computer and then reinstall it.

    First step: clear temp directory

    1. tap folder in the race or search programs and files of field

2 Select all the files in this folder, and then press the delete key to remove. If you receive a message that the file is in use, you will need to ignore this file (s).

    3. proceed to step 2 below

Second step: downloaded and extracted to your system:

1 download the drivers and full software features

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/WC/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=MP-77752-2&CC=US&DLC=en&LC=en&os=4063&Product=3795406&sw_lang=

    2. once the download is complete, double-click the file to extract the software.

    3. when the installation window opens, press the Cancel button to stop the installation

    4. tap folder in the race or search programs and files of field

    5. Locate and open the folder starting with 7z (example: 7zS2356)

    6. right click on the folder and select copy

    7. close this window and all open windows, and then in the Middle the desktop right click your mouse and select Paste. This will move the 7z folder on your desktop.

8 open the 7z, that you just copied on your desktop

    9 open the Util folder

    10 open the CCC folder

    11 start the uninstall_L4

    12. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer

  • OfficeJet 6500 E709n driver download for Windows 7

I tried to download the drivers for the Officejet 6500 E709n on 32-bit and Windows 7 64.  After the download is complete the download box disappears and there is no record of driver download or can I find it in my programs or search for files.  Have I missed something obvious in my download?  My current cd is only good up to Windows Vista, and I'll try to find a way to work with the feature my printer wireless.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

By trial and error, I have solved my problem.  I tried to download again with the 32-bit version for Windows 7 and before you click on 'Run' on the download screen, I've saved a copy on my desk and then begins to download.  Once the download is complete, he used the file from my desktop to install the driver on my computer.  During the installation process, the software removes the printer from your list (or network) printers.  After you install the driver, I then went and found the printer through the tab my devices and printers, by clicking on "add a printer".  The computer does the rest in regard to installing and making it my default printer.  I hope this help anyone who can run in the same situation.

    Hi @jhrhilltop,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I read your post and see that you cannot print after you install the printer on Windows 10. I will definitely do my best to help you. If this helps you to find a solution, please click on the button "Accept as Solution" down below in this message. It does not resemble drivers for the printer installed correctly.

Run all the updates of Windows on the computer.

I would say to uninstall the printer software. Unlock the hidden administrator account, then install the printer on this account:

Note: Do not connect the USB cable until you are prompted during the installation.
Go to your Start menu and in the box "search programs and files", type CMD.
CMD will fill as an option to search above, just right-click on it and "run as Administrator".
Once opens in CMD (command prompt), type net user administrator / Active: Yes and press ENTER.
Then, close CMD and then restart your computer.
When your computer is on the newspaper in the new account which should show. It will be called Administrator and will not have a password on it.
If your computer automatically connects to your account after reboot than to go to your Start menu, click the arrow next to 'shutdown' and choose 'change user '. Now log on to the administrator account, that we have just released.
Under the administrator account, install the printer software.
    Test the printer.
To disable the Admin account start at step 1 and type net user administrator / active: No..

    Test the printer.

Please let me know the result and if there is anything else I can help you. Thank you.

Yes, it's very good information.  Thank you to be thorough to me.  I actually had this happen to me personally on my Windows XP and printer Photosmart older (different error message but even constant pop up).  I could easily (but a lot of time, I might add) fix my problem of:

    1. uninstall the printer from Add/Remove programs.

    2. run cleaning disc of all programs > Accessories > system tools > disk cleanup.

    3 restart the PC.

4 selection of a backup in CCleaner system option and then cleaning the registry using this tool. Click here and carefully read the reviews in CNET and opt to download the tool to see what I mean.

    5. restart the PC again.

    6. can download and install my printer on the site, but in your case, here are the drivers and the software feature full Officejet 6500 Wireless (the link is for the version of Windows 7 32-bit PC U.S.).

This can become very difficult at times, so I want to provide this very comprehensive document from HP which covers your exact error message and their favorite not to try.  Mine are a little easier but a 'tad - little' more risky because I provided a link to a specific 3rd registry part cleaner that you use at your discretion (there are others out there).  I like it because I can back up my system first in the case where that something else has been removed should not have been.  I don't have that happen, fortunately.  Please read this document as well just to be on the safe side.  I'm here to help (do not do worse) so let me know if I need to explain something better, but I think that you have everything you need here to start.

  • Scan with a 'damaged' with Officejet 6500 e709n printhead?

My Officejet 6500 e709n appeared to run out of ink last week.  I have replaced the ink cartridge and immediately got an error message on the printhead being incompatible or damaged.  I went through a number of steps, including the print head cleaning, troubleshooting, which wasn't very dirty because it was only the 3rd ink cartridge I had ever installed.  I also tried 3 different types of resets.  I was also told that a replacement print head is not available.  If the printer has been declared unsalvagable.  I hope that I could at least use the scanner to scan a photo and save it on my computer (Windows 7 Home Premium, service pack 1).  Is this possible or is the 6500 not capable of this?

The printer checks the printheads during initialization of the market.  If the print subsystem is not functional, the scanner does not work.  Sorry!
