install windows xp WITH external cd drive

So, I have a nb100 linux and I want to also have Windows xp.

I have a Philips cdrw400 external cd Reader which works very well under ubuntu.
Now, quite simply, I have my copy of windows xp home and I put in the cd player, I changed the boot sequence, so that the cd/dvd is first of all, then I turn on but...
nothing happens. As usual, not linux begin installation of windows (the disc is fine as I tried on another pc)

So, why it does not start the installation program?

second question, I like to keep the version of ubuntu and have a cool dual boot with windows xp. What are the right steps to do this?

Third, I tried to start again the external nb100 with a linux LiveCD, but he didn.t work. It seems that the nb100 does not use external cd drive, but it works correctly under ubuntu. There the antthing I need to do in advance?

Thank you

I think that there is something broken in the process of selection of start on Linux NB100. I had to leave the selection of only F2 bios and use the F12 boot selection. Perhaps a bios later could help with this, but I couldn't sort out how to upgrade the bios with the material I have and without going back to the first installation of Ubuntu.
Try to put the selection of the bios back to the original boot, reboot and pressing F12.
