  My computer recently fell down, so I had to reinstall most of the programs to get it up and running again. I got no problems, until I tried to reinstall my MCS software. I have some big problems to reinstall the software and drivers for my HP PSC 1317. I tried all the solutions troubleshooting I can find on the site of HP. None of them work. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the software from my original CD and the HP of many times website. I know that my COPS is old compared to most all-in-one printers, but it used to work perfectly fine for my needs. Help!

  Problem solved! I installed a 'clean' of windows version and then reinstalled my printer software before all other programs. It works perfectly now.

• absence of dv6/PSC of color printing problem

  I have a dv6-6b91eo laptop core i7 and a machine to print/copy/fax psc 2100. The problem started a couple of days when I had to remove a piece of paper that had tied in the printer. I did a test run from the pc and only got a b/w copy. I thought that maybe the color cartridge had been damaged as asked me to remove the cartridges for inspection. I replaced the cartridge with a new color. I did a test run from the pc and only got a b/w copy. I then tried the copy function and it scanned and printed OK, color and all. So, what to do? Is there a software patch that can fix the problem? I Don t have an installation cd for the PSC, so if that's what is needed I must find it on the web, but where? Is it a pc or a printer problem? Any help much appreciated.

  Downloaded and run the HP and Docfor Scan print program, but he found no problem with my system, but after I did a backup copy of files on my external hard drive WD My Passport, and here the dv6 color printing capability has been restored after the backup! Also I have absolutely no idea how or why, but the printer works now dv6 o.k.! If you have no idea why this has happened, please let us know, I really want to know both why stopped dv6 color printing after only eliminate a jam on the psc 2210 (no changes have been made on the dv6 and scanning and printing color directly from the psc2210 worked o.k.) and why it has been restored after having made the back-up file. Very confusing to say the least. I will mark this as a solution, but I would really like to know why.

• PS2 Keyboard and mouse hooked after XP SP3 installed

  Upgrade to SP3.  Keyboard works very well to get into the BIOS.  F8 works very well to get to choose the Safe Mode, and al. or not.  Once XP takes control, the keyboard and mouse are unresponsive.  Mouse move the pointer on the screen, the keyboard will not activate numlock or other keys LED.  Power - off only option.  Tried other keyboards and other mouse.  No go.

  I said nothing about "of special drivers', I suggested seeking & install the updated drivers. If none is available, there is a very good chance that your older equipment of keyboard and mouse is not supported in WinXP SP3.

  Hi - I know that the SP2 support ends in July 2010, I'm XP family and I have dial-up internet service. My hard drive crashed and I'm trying to restore security.

  I have SP1 and downloaded SP1 - trying to download SP3, but without success. Not to mention that the download is a whopping 22 hours!     Once, I got a cd version of the SP2 since the beginning of the Decade, but impossible to find.

  All attempts to locate online through Microsoft.com do not work, unless I'm missing something...

• BIOS update problems. After SP3 update, I got the BSOD and cannot be run in Mode without failure.

  Yesterday I went to the AMD site to download the latest version of the BIOS.  I installed the SP3 for XP and got the BSOD but no details, only four error codes after the Stop 0x0000007e.

  Registered under a WinZip BIOS and when I opened it, it was defined as a file of VLC media player, which seemed poorly, and as a text file, which seemed wrong.  Earlier, but I had been able to open it, then run, and then he said that I had to stop so he could activate.  So when I said if turned off, the system said, hang on, it's not over and if you stop now, you may lose files.  So I waited, nothing happened.  So I did it again, and he says that you want to uninstall, suggesting it was already installed.
