Installation of Windows XP on Win 7

Is Hey, possible to get rid of Windows 7 pre-installed on new Toshiba and install Windows XP instead?

Windows (confound it!) not allowed to downgrade to previous versions, but - I just clean my computer of this parasite, install from scratch XP, or this bug is sitting so deep, that it is possible to kill him, only in combination with the computer?

It is of course possible. Before that, you create DVDs of recovery for Win7 and one day if you want to reinstall Win7 you can use this disc.
Visit also check and download page of Toshiba WXP is supported or not. If this isn't the case, you will probably have problems to find all the necessary drivers. Specific Toshiba and utility tools you need for many important activities will be missing as well.
Without the WXP support you should not install WXP.

By the way: you have most recent piece of hardware, so I put t understand why to use the old operating system. You should look forward and use newer hardware with newer operating system.

I assume that it happens because of lack of driver SATA. It must be loaded with F6 before installation of WXP begins. You can also create the installation disk of Windows XP Home edition with the integrated SATA driver. How to do this you can read

  • Qosmio G30 - No. HDD recognized during installation of Windows 7

HY, I tried to install win 7 on my Toshiba Qosmio G but after running the installer of windows 7, it does not find the drives to install on. My Qosmio has 2 discs. In the BIOS, they are marked as SATA (I can't change this setting) and the first to RAID0 and the second JBOS.

When you run the installation from my XP environment, I get the message that the AHCI driver is not installed. I downloaded the latest driver for storage of matrix from Intel and upload it in the setup of Windows 7, but it still does not recognize my discs. See a suggestion or an answer to my problem?

Of course, I installed the latest version of the BIOS... it's from 2008-09. Intel matrix storage drivers where very recent 17/07/2009. But according to the website of Microsoft AHCI and SATA drivers must be included in the installation of Windows in any case.

PS the version that I'm trying to install is RC build 7100

    Thanks for some comments,
    Bert

    Hello

First of all, you should tell us what model Qosmio you exactly. There are many different Qosmio models on the market.

To me it sounds like that, you simply use the wrong driver AHCI/RAID. If your Qosmio is equipped with a RAID controller you need other drivers and not the Intel Storage Manager. To install Windows in this case, you have RAID drivers they belongs to the RAID controller.

As said Akuma search site Web from Toshiba RAID drivers:

During the installation of Windows 7 or 8.1 using a USB stick - get the message "cannot be installed, it is a GPT partition.

I have 64 bit install discs for Win 7 and Win 8.1. These two install on my desktop in duel boot. I made a Flash DRIVE of each disk so I can install it more quickly.

Problem: I get the cannot install because it is a GPT partition.

Y at - there no way to make these 2 USB sticks work?

    Thank you, Brad

Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

Your computer does not have Microsoft's Downgrade rights and you must buy a copy of Windows 7 with a valid Microsoft COA and product key.

The screenshots below is from a laptop HP 15 t-j100... options and the configuration on your computer screens may differ.

You will need to DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the "Configuration of the BIOS start-up secure" on the settings page similar to what is shown below, until you try to install Windows 7.

After you save the changes, the computer will ask you to confirm the changes... Accept the changes by typing the four digit code and press the ENTER"" key.

If you install Windows 7 from a USB and see a message of "load a driver - a required CD/DVD drive device is missing", it's because as 'System Configuration' > 'Config USB3.0 in pre-start' is set to 'Enabled '. This should be set to 'Auto '.

In addition, as the factory hard drive is partitioned as TPG, you must start using the internal CD/DVD UEFI or UEFI-Key/key USB to install Windows on a GPT-partitioned disk. Turn on or restart the computer and press "F9" or "ESC", then "F9" when prompted. Select the source of boot UEFI you use and you press "ENTER".

I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best installation experience. If the DVD does not start as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (can ask "Quick start" DISABLING in BIOS) as the installation media. Please note that some computers may not recognize a valid active UEFI USB Flash drive if it is formatted in NTFS and may require only a FAT32 formatted USB Flash drive. You should be able to make a FAT32 formatted Windows 7 installation USB Flash drive using Rufus, UNetbootin, Universal USB Installeror WiNToBootic. I like Rufus, because it contains options for 'Plan of GPT partition for UEFI computer' and 'FAT32'.

  • Why Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit installs not Windows updates?

I am not able to download and install Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit windows update.  This Gateway laptop has always been able to quickly and easily install the update by clicking windows update.  However, since the introduction of Windows 10 it has been a lot of your time trying to install updates.  I had this same problem with Windows 7 too.  Never before there was no problem for the two operating systems.  Installation of Windows updates has always been easy and fast without any problem.  Running the troubleshooting isn't good and hunting error codes has been unproductive.  What the hell is happening?

    Hi Joe Cool1:

'Check for updates...' crashes and slow Windows updates currently affect the SP2 for Vista and Win 7 SP1 users, and I doubt it's a coincidence that Microsoft has ended mainstream support and only provides support for these two operating systems.  The evidence points more to a problem with the Windows Update Agent (WUA Vista, C:\Windows\system32\wuaueng.dll v7.6.7600.256 has not been updated since June 2012) and the problem tends to be more prevalent on computers with slower processors and a limited amount of RAM.

There are step-by-step instructions posted on 16 June 2016 wire m #l's updates doesn't work do not, he has been looking for updates to the hours which should speed up Windows Update for both for Win 7 SP1 and SP2 for Vista.  The instructions were for users of Vista, so when you reach step 4 just use the appropriate links of Win 7 on the page Web of Dalia http://wu.krelay.de/en/ (Win 7 x 64 if you have 64-bit Win 7 OS;) Win 7 x 86 if you have a 32-bit Win 7 OS) to download packages update stand-alone correct (.msu files) for missing Windows kernel mode driver (Win32K.sys) updates on your Win 7 machine.

  • HP Windows 8 downgrade Win 7 HP 8300 SFF - No. Win 7 OEM sticker.

    Hello

We bought 2 x HP 8300 Mini PC with pre-installed Windows 8.  It came with Windows 7 recovery discs, so I could load Windows 7, which means that he is allowed to do this.  However, we have our own image of Windows 7 customized for the PC and I would like to continue using it.  The problem, however, is the new PC does not come with Windows OEM license keys, they have only a Windows 8 logo on the side.

Is it possible that I can find Win 7 license?  We are looking to buy another 30 jobs in the coming months, and I don't want to run on each of them individually.

    Thank you

    Luke

    Luke,

With the introduction of Windows 8, Microsoft requires major OEM computer manufacturers to incorporate the window product key in the BIOS. These computers are no longer come with a certificate of Authenticity affixed containing the product key.

It is a forum of HP consumer products and as HP Compaq Elite 8300 business computer is a class computer business, you can ask your question in the HP Enterprise Business Community. You can also contact the HP Business Support Center.

    By the way HP 8300 SFF computers come with Windows 7 recovery disc can allow you to use the HP OEM preactivation product key and the OEM HP certificate. If the recovery discs are the same version as your "custom"... image IE "If your image is Win7 Pro, the recovery disks should also be Win7 Pro"... you can try to use the procedure I posted below;

    (1) download and unzip ABR Beta with Windows 7 Support. This is the homepage of ABR for Windows Vista. Please follow the section "How to use" for information and instructions on how to use it. These steps also apply to Windows 7. Perform the 'activation' on each computer backup and back up the certificate and the key has been recovered in separate places for comparison. (He draws the original key HP preinstalled OEM factory and certificate from your factory installed OS OEM) Compare the keys and certificates for each computer, they are all the same? Please report back with your findings.

    (2) download and use RWEverything to determine the version of the OA/SLP/SLIC in BIOS of the computer. See this page of Web MyDitigalLife titled "How to check or verify PC motherboard BIOS SLIC Version is SLP OA 2.0 or 2.1 for OEM Activation" for more information on how to use and decipher the information. (Windows 8 use OA 3.0 and this is where the problem can happen) Please report back with your findings.

    (3) If you do not already have a copy, download your version (the version that was preinstalled on your HP computer) Windows 7 from Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River. Using the built-in Windows 7 CD/DVD burning software, burn downloaded Windows 7 ISO on a DVD.

    (4) install Windows 7 from your new disk 'Windows 7' or your image by following all prompts as needed. Don't let not Windows try to scoped. Run ABR 'restoration of activation' to 'install' the previously saved until the product key and the certificate. Make sure that Windows is activated, repeat "restoration of activation" until Windows 7 is activated. (It "installs" pre-installed HP OEM factory original key and certificate from your factory installed OS to your new installation of Windows. This HP OEM key and the OEM HP certificate, as well as the BIOS is what allows your computer to HP be factory preactivated.)

    (5) install all drivers from the computer. These can be found on the support page HP for your computer, or you can find newer drivers on the various websites of the manufacturers of component... Intel, NVidia, AMD/ATI, Ralink, Realtek, etc..

    (6) image of the Windows installation and deploy it to the remaining computers.

  • Installation of Windows 8 to replace Windows XP in a HP Pavilion a465c

With XP goes in the direction of the Model-T, I was wondering if the installation of Windows 8 is possible, and what I could expect and should know, if this is the choice.

    Dean, welcome to the forum.

Here's a guide that will help you in your decision to go with 8.0/8.1 Win or not.  Is there a Win 8 Upgrade Wizard in the guide.  It examines the component to see if they will be compatible.

If win 8 is not compatible, you can run the Win 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Because your computer is 10 years old, I think that Windows 7 is going to be the best option.  You can determine with the guides above, however.

  • Installation of Windows 7 - error SSHD

    Hi all

I tried to install windows 7 on my new sshd (seagate 1 TB 5400 RPM sshd), as my old hard drive died. However on the installation procedures, after that the sshd is partitioned, windows is unable to complete the installation. I heard that the error lies in the version of windows being installed. • Windows 8 start problem, due to an accidental installation of Windows XP on another partition

I had Windows 8 Pro on one partition and Windows XP SP3 on another partition for some time and I could choose which start. I decided to remove Win XP and format the partition on that Win XP has been installed. I tried to do it by using formatting option Win XP CD that appears before installation; However, I accidentally installed Win XP on the same partition. The problem is that my laptop is no longer recognizes Win 8 and begins on Win XP. I was wondering if by any chance I could collect Win 8?

Furthermore, the Win 8 partition is installed, is intact and healthy with all the files inside Windows. Also, I tried to update or reset the installation of Win 8 to help to win 8 DVD, however, it did not work; as a message appears saying that the drive is locked.

I thank very you much for your time.

    Hey Amir,

It seems that the boot loader is damaged. You need to install the earlier operating system first, and then install the latest operating system. If you do not have (for example, if you install Windows XP on a computer that is already running Windows 8), you can make your system unusable. This can happen because earlier versions of Windows do not recognize the startup files used in more recent versions of Windows and can overwrite them.

As you have reinstalled Windows XP on a computer running Windows 8, it has destroyed the boot loader.

    Follow these steps.

We need to rebuild the Boot Configuration data (BCD). For this we need an installation of Windows 8 media.  If you do not have an installation, you can create a.

    Refer to this article.

Here are the steps to fix this problem.

    a. Insert the Windows 8 installation media and start the computer using the disc.

Note: You will need to consult the computer manual on how to set the CD/DVD drive as the first boot device in the BIOS.

    b. Once you start using the installation disk of Windows, on the installation of Windows 8 window, click on repair your computer.

    c. click Troubleshooting and Advanced options.
    d. Select command prompt. Type the following commands in the command prompt and press ENTER after each command.

  • During the Installation Fusion 8 found the Win 10 USB installation disk?

I try to install fusion 8 on a MBP (mid-2015) using OS X El Capitan v 10.11 to install Win10 as a guest of a newly purchased Home 10 Windows USB version.

When I inserted the USB dongle asked me if I wanted to install in Mac or Win 10. I responded to win 10?

I didn't insert the USB stick to the USB port of the computer before the time ran (again, I don't have no installation instructions) and showed the following screen:

    Screen Shot 2015-10-14 at 2.42.37 PM.png

Then with the inserted USB dongle, I have tried re installing by choosing < enter >

    I get the same message.

Is it possible to get the program to recognize Win10 program and install it?

I can't check the startup disk in the Virtual Machine settings because I don't know where they are.

One let Fusion8 make the partition that has been chosen in 60 GB and then install the Windows operating system?

and there at - it installation instructions for this process? The reason why I ask is that I'm afraid to do the wrong thing so I read the language with a lot of attention and it progresses slowly. I prefer to read and know what to expect and make all my decisions NOT covered by the gun so to speak.

I just bought they software yesterday, have I not support phone for help if necessary installation or is - this all pay off in the incident?

    Thanks for any help,

    LilBang

To use Apple disk utility integrated to create a .cdr image of the Setup disk:

    1. Use the Finder to launch disk utility (located in /Applications/Utilities ).
    2. Insert the Windows installation disc.
    3. In the left column, click the Apple Super drive, and then click New Image.
    4. In the drop-down menu, select CD/DVD Master.
    5. Take note of where the document is saved, and then click Save. The CD/DVD starts converting. This can take several minutes depending on the size of the disk. A progress indicator displays the progress.
    6. When the process is complete, quit disk utility.
