  • The dual SSID Signal interference

I have the cable and Internet provided by AT & T.  I mainly had Comcast when you live in different parts of the country.  I am owner of an Airport Extreme and Time Capsule I used previously to set up the network internal in addition to the SSID broadcast material of the cable company.  I never had a problem before using AT & T.  I noticed that the Internet speeds both the provider of cable and speed on the internal network have been seriously degraded.  I was unable to stream movies.  After several attempts to solve the problems with AT & T and myself, I found the problem: it seems to be interference of signals between AT & T and Airport Extreme material each broadcasting separate SSID in very close to one another.  I got the Apple hardware, and the problem was solved immediately.  While I'm happy to have it fixed, I don't miss the advantage of having the internal network using Apple devices.  What are my options?  Is it correct that I can't use the Apple devices to extend the SSID signal emissions equipment AT & T?  I think the problem might be solved, perhaps, if the two gateways were not close to one another, but I do not have another spot to plug the Airport Extreme.

Is it correct that I can't use the Apple devices to extend the SSID signal emissions equipment AT & T?

    Unfortunately correct.

Apple routers work that to extend another router from Apple... no other brand is invited to the party.

I think the problem might be solved, perhaps, if the two gateways were not close to one another, but I do not have another spot to plug the Airport Extreme.

Separate the two routers as much as you can... I always recommend 6feet or about 2 M. If they are closer than this really a wireless should be turned off. Only for this case deactivate the ATT router instead of your apple.

There are enough wireless channels to run 3 wireless routers close to each other.

Sometimes the automatic separation of channels does not work and you need to get and change physically.

Use wireless diagnostics (many versions available, but it is built into Mac OS since the Mountain Lion)

There are a bunch of tools... the actual diagnosis is not particularly useful in my experience.

    Open scan.

You will need to click on it to see the whole thing.

Now, I have a few questions... first, I'm not showing noise... This is just my configuration problem. But you should see RSSI (signal level), noise, channel, band, width and country.

Watch channels... My installation has some problems because most of the 2.4 ghz is using channel 11.

The diagnosis tells you even what channels to use.

I can open airport utility and select one of the units in issue. Click the icon from the airport... Click on edit in the preview.

    Go to the wireless tab.

    Click Wireless options

Change the automatic 2.4 ghz regardless of the channel you want.

Save and update from the airport.

Especially for 5 GHz, I think that your stay on auto should be fine. It is more short-range and isn't usually a big problem.

Note also the signal strength really counts... things go wrong if you don't have enough separation and the signal strength is low.

    2.4 GHz, there are only 3 channels Alcan... 1, 6, 11

Although Diagnostics of scanning you will offer between channels... do not be fooled that this corrects the problem.

Read the wiki for wireless lan.

    https://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels

Channel 6 for example is actually peak signal to 6, but it covers 4 to 8.

  • Someone else has Apple Airplay jumping and drop outs when streaming music?  WiFi is not the problem, and there is nothing around the units of airtime to interference.  Impossible to listen to music.  Thanks for any advice.

I've recently updated several broadcasts in my house from V1 to V2 in the hope of resolving a constant jumping and abandonment problem I always had when playing music with Airplay.  I have a unit of airtime plugged directly on my stereo receiver that feeds music throughout my house.  My WiFi connection is not the problem and there is nothing to cause interference.  Airplay modules are not more than 15 feet distance modem or range Extenders.  Someone else has this problem and, hopefully, a solution?   I'm tired of doing factory reset all the time.  Many thanks for any advice.

I've recently updated several broadcasts in my house from V1 to V2 in the hope of resolving a constant jumping and abandonment problem I always had when playing music with Airplay.

By "Airplays" what are you actually refers to... Base station airPort Express, Apple TV, or something else?

... and "V1 to V2" do you mean you replaced a 1st generation 802.11n AirPort Express with a 2nd generation?

Airplay modules are not more than 15 feet distance modem or range Extenders.

When steaming audio with AirPlay, the flow goes first to the device host to iTunes to the router Wi - Fi, this unit is connected to. From there, he will travel to the AirPlay "speaker". A president could be an AirPort Express, Apple TV or an AirPlay device ready another manufacturer. If you use line extensions, the flow must go through those as well... so there is potential bottlenecks between the host and the speaker. One of these could be the cause of the issue you found.

  • Does anyone have a work around for the design on PowerMac G5 2005 flaw that causes noise interference on the outputs? (Audiophile, sound engineer)

OK, here's my problem - I have a set of audio interface Protools Digi 002 via Firewire 400 on a PowerMac G5 I was lucky enough to be given last year. I finally managed to connect my home recording studio system, he wire of mixer etc, but when I listen to the music coming from the outputs of the Digi 002 there in a great cacophony of audio interference, so much and so well, when I mount the system I can move my pointer between two monitors and it plays a different frequency of buzz. Everytime I open a window, Soft etc it is more electronic noise.

    He took a while to limit, but after reading this excerpt from wikipedia, it seems that it was a fault common to this particular model until Apple released the revised version of the B of the G5 (?);

' The first versions of the dual processor G5 have problems of noise . The first is ground loop- based interference,[5] that sometimes causes noise seeps into the outputs audio analogue. This bug has been fixed in Rev. B G5.'

    and

' Well that the noise problems do not prevent computers affected work, they asked problems for audio professionals and enthusiasts as well, especially for models to liquid cooling, which had been expressly designed as mechanically quiet for listeners. "

Well, that's no euphemism - in fact it makes the mac completely useless for my needs, I need the outputs clean digital noise to send for outboard effects/EQ/etc.

As it was a common fault, I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on a workaround solution, as I can't imagine recording ground studios just stop until this has been fixed by releasing a new G5?

The only idea that I came up with so far is to buy a transformer of isolation, but I'm not entirely convinced that will solve the problem?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

Have you tried CHUD Tools & turn off NAP mode?

The first versions of the dual processor G5 have problems of noise . The first is ground loop- based interference,[5] , which causes sometimes analog audio output sound leaks. This bug has been fixed in Rev. B G5.

The second problem of noise came from his "tweets", which can be triggered by power fluctuations. For example, display or hide the Dock makes a short beep. Many blamed the power supply used in the G5 as the cause, but this theory has never been confirmed. A very effective workaround is to disable microprocessors 'siesta' using Apple CHUD Tools, but this was not recommended by Apple. This noise problem has not set until the generation of dual-core G5s was produced, but it does not affect the model of "Late 2004" (at least there have never been reports). Draw of power fluctuation has been later attributed to the lack of power management features in processors simple heart. [6] Apple eventually posted information bug tweets on its support site. [7]

Although noise problems did not prevent the computers assigned to work, they were problematic for audio professionals and enthusiasts as well, especially for models with cooling liquid, which had been expressly designed as mechanically quiet for listeners.

    https://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_Mac_G5

Just one last note on the use of CHUD tools to disable the 'Nap' on the G5 Dual functionality: restart your machine reactive 'Nap '. You may have already seen this on the Apple forums. Kind of a bummer - although I rarely shut down my machine. In any case, running with 'Nap' off today seems to have resulted in a significant increase in general speed/responsiveness for me (I'm still running the stock 512 MB RAM, with another 1 GB on the way).

  • the questions and the interference of bluetooth

Hello. I am plagued by a terrible connection between my bluetooth magic mouse, keyboard and trackpad and my iMac. Mouse movements are jerky, cut off intermittently and make the impossible work to my iMac. The keyboard and the trackpad disconnect and reconnect at will. I went to my local store to Apple eight times in the last six months because of this problem, we replace the bluetooth module (nightwork), something apparently occurred when repairing the third time because my motherboard has been replaced. Still not better. Now, I think it's a problem of interference involving hard drives USB, routers, wifi or any other device that operates on the frequency of 2.4. Problem is that everything was great six months ago. Now, I am forced to use a crappy wired keyboard and mouse. NOT HAPPY. Anyone of these problems?

    Hi rvalues.

I can understand that you are having problems with Bluetooth devices does not not as expected and I am pleased to provide you with some information for you. I suspect that interference may be responsible to do so, and there are several possible sources of interference. This article may shed some light on the topic for you:

  • Interference WiFi live-Roku?

In the process of upgrading and troubleshooting our network domestic wi - fi, I have stumbled on the interference of the signal direct-Roku a neighbor and am looking for suggestions on how to avoid new disturbances.

Our network (prompted and primary) is generated by a time Capsule (ac 802.11, 2.4 and 5 GHz) and extended by a 4th generation Time Capsule (802.11n, 2.4 and 5), but is in a fairly busy area (about 15-30 SSID is visible at any time) and drops or often slows.  Run the wireless diagnostics identifies a County Code error (and of course the channel congestion).  When I scan the visible SSID, one poster code from countries other than the United States.  This is the signal Direct-Roku (registered as the Q2 country code) and is strong enough.  Unlined home in aluminum foil, have no recourse?  I read about setting up a dummy network with an old router to avoid problems 802.11 d in crowded places.  This work with a wi - fi direct report?  Wouldn't it just cause the channel congestion more?

With that many neighbors Wi-Fis, it can be very difficult for access point wireless of any manufacturer, not just the base stations of the airport, to find a channel "clear" they would not interfere with. Generally, should use an all-wired, not something you were hoping.

... and country Q2 code would be New Zealand. Direct-Roku is a Wi-Fi-to-peer network that allows the Roku and its remote control communicate directly. It is based on a Wi - Fi Direct connection, which can operate on networks 802.11a/g/n... which means that both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. Not 100% sure that the Roku devices operate on.

Unlined home in aluminum foil, have no recourse?

Unfortunately, not much. If you are familiar with your neighbors, you could try to raise the issue with them. However, even if they are willing to help, they, most likely, the same problems as you. Yet once, all wired connections will definitely solve this problem.

  • Radio Frequency Interference on external monitor with Tecra M10

I have a Tecra M10 that seems to emit RFI, causing lines of interference on the external VGA monitor and audible interference on its speakers.
I was worried that this might be a hard drive in trouble, but before the call to support, decided to continue the investigation.

First I tried unplugging all USB devices; the intervention was still there, so I tried to unplug the PC from the Express Port Replicator.
As I moved forward, the noise has been reduced, and this led me to check the power supply.
The unit is a 5 amp unit, PA3378-3AC3, and that seems to be the source of the DDR.

Port replicator came with a spare unit 5 amp, PA2521E-2AC3, but there is too little noise from it.

So I checked the two supplies with and without the duplicator.
    Noise each time.

Suggestions - is something wrong or it is to be expected with the Tecra M10 RFI?

    Hello

Have you checked if the same question would be displayed using the laptop with the own plugged AC adapter.
Someone had very similar problem and it was a problem to the ground using a power cable 3 pins for different could solve this problem.

But of course the question could be also related to the monitor cable external doggy.
The user in this thread has this issue.
The replacement of the power cable supplied with the monitor helped.

It s worth a try check it out...

  • Toshiba 46TL938: no noise or interference SCART ext1 and ext2

My tl938 tv 46 has no sound of ext 1 and ext2. I plug in a dvd and a game console and two of them have no sound but the pictureis ok. Sometimes, I listen to a strange sound, like interference. I have the tv about ten months without similar problems. The sound of the tv channels and hdmi saurces is ok.

MPEIZANI, I would say that your cable SCART is the problem, as shown in the manual for the series TL938 both Ext1 and Ext2 as having Audio input capabilities, Ext2 being taken CAR.
What kind of cable SCART use you at the present time, has all pins connected directly through it, or is it a switch "in/out"?
If it has a switch, is it connected the right way around, and it goes on the 'In' setting?

    Just a thought...

What exactly do you mean by interference on my monitor? Do you have the quality bad picture or what?

Another question; This interference appears on the internal laptop LCD display or the external monitor?

Have you tried updating the graphics card driver and/or BIOS?

    Hi guys

I'm not an expert but in my opinion you pick up some information on NETfilter experts. I don t want to write about it now. Please check this page http://www.soundlabsgroup.com.au/lcaudio/lc_audio_netfilter.htm. I hope that you will be able to solve this problem.

It will be nice to know if you were able to make it work well.

  • Satellite P750 - interference TV when connected to power

    I have a Satellite P750 (PSAY3A - 02L 001) that has a built-in TV tuner.

Whenever I plug the power adapter into the laptop, it creates interference on TV reception. Without the adapter is connected, the reception is very good. I also checked at the reception of the antenna with a decoder and it is the signal strength of 90 to 100%.

Help, please! Is this a faulty power supply? Or receiver defective tv? Or a driver/bios problem? Or just a bad design?

I noticed similar problems on the external monitor, but I have a laptop.
In the end the issues was grounded.
Here's a thread on a similar problem with an external display.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=40338

in this case, the AC adapter cable was defective
You should also test it could also be that you need a cable 2-pin, so the power adapter is connected to the Earth is no longer.

The strange thing is my colleague here has the same exact configuration in the next office and have no problem at all. only difference is that it is Linux while I'm still on XP

I tried monitor different cables, switched adaptors CA / CC with my colleague, but nothing is.

Any suggestions or ideas you may have will be appreciated.

    Thank you

It doesn't matter weather, you have installed the operating system Linux or Windows.
Maybe you could try to use to your laptop or monitor taking unique ompletely.

Another thing is, check if your colleague's cell phone behaves like yours on your site to the monitor.

  • Portege M700 - Causing Dynadock of interference near the audio system

Someone at - he encountered this before?

    I use a M700 connected to a second screen/keyboard/mouse via the Dynadock.

As soon as I plug the USB cable between the computer and the Dynadock, strong style RF interference are audible through the audio system that I use for music production.

The actual output of the Dynadock is not affected - it's just the audio system nearby. Yhis happens or not the dynadock audio output is connected to the system.

This is what makes the dynadock unusable for me - any help gratefully received.

    Ed

Your laptop or dynadock audio output is not connected to your audio system, right?

When you turn on dynadock, without connection to the laptop, are the intereferences already there?
I know that this phenomenon only normal audio cables and devices that have a bad AC or ground connection is not good.

Maybe you could try to put the dynadock into a different outlet AC, not to intertwined with another device.
