Intermittent connectivity device

Hi, I have an Airport Extreme (Zoom modem).  We have several wireless devices (computers, IPad, mac, iPhone, PlayStation).  Of them connect at some point, but none of them connect all the time.  We unplug / restart the modem and the router and can get some that were not connected to connect, but others who were connected connect then is no longer.  We are unable to understand any model of what will or what does not connect.  The devices are not more than 1 room remotely should not be a problem.  Thanks for any help.

This has always been the case, or just started happening recently?

What exact model is your Zoom modem? What about AirPort Extreme?

Now that we have ePrint works perfectly with our networks of , maybe someone can help with this problem of AirPrint:

I'm having intermittent connectivity to my 8500 has via AirPrint from my iPhone 4 and iPad.  All my computers laptops (Mac and PC) fine print over wifi, but the printer appears on the iOS devices about 30% of the time and without rhyme or reason with regard to when or why.

I tried to reset all devices as well as the router (Linksys WRT110).  All devices have also applied the latest firmware or the OS updates.

According to this thread on Apple forums, this seems to be a fairly widespread problem: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2670097

    Any ideas?

I just wanted to give the community suite my questions Airprint.

Finally, I bit the bullet and replaced my Linksys WRT110 with an Apple Airport Extreme router. I've been running my setup for three weeks now and airprint worked perfectly.  Now, I'm pretty sure it was the router causing problems all the time.

My iOS devices can now find and print my 8500 has all the time.

  • SEVERE intermittent connection problems

My family had our router wireless WRT54GX2 for a little more than three years now without any problems. However, last June (between 13 June and 20 June) my family went on vacation for a week to return to an intermittent connection of our router. I'VE isolated the problem to the router and not the Modem, our ISP or cords. Practically from the start, our connection went out for about 10 seconds usually every 40 seconds to 2 minutes (with varying degrees of severity). However, as time has passed, the problem got MUCH worse, to the point where (for about the last six days) at the time where our computer restores a connection the connection would have gone again (the router by totally unnecessary). This problem has been going on with the two wired our (modem router to the computer) and wireless devices. I looked at the "answer" to this problem on the support site, but I can't at the entrance of my value such MTU recommended in this response because the connection turns off so many times, I am unable still load page maintenance based on a browser to the router. Help would be appreciated, I have an annoying, nagging suspicion that the problem is with the hardware itself.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, before I read that, I contacted a Customer Service representative using the Live Chat option and two of them concluded that my router was defective and qualifies for replacement. Thanks to all who tried to help!

  • Y at - it a command to force a MacBook Pro to search for connected devices?

My MacBook Pro (retina, mid-2012 running 10.11.6) struggled to connect to my Drobo Mini - from the first day of the purchase of the Drobo Mini in February. Sometimes it connects, sometimes not. I worked with the support of Drobo, who went so far as to send me a replacement, but still no luck. I learned that I can usually get a successful connection carefully timing my login at a specific time in the 'dancing lights' Drobo starting routine. A little late or a bit early at the moment and there is no editing of the car. In this case, I have no choice but to stop the computer and the Drobo and try again - sometimes repeat this procedure 2 or 3. Frustrating and not good for the material, I'm sure.

Here's my question (for all the times I miss the right timing), is there a command I can give the MacBook to 'force' to 'search' connected devices? If so, I hope that they can connect. It's frustrating when the devices are connected physically but doesn't seems to "reach out" to the other.

At startup, the reader sends a signal to the adage of "I'm here, let's connect." computer Or, the computer continually detects when a device connects. Whatever it is, a device or another is dropping the ball.

Thank you for your help and advice.

  • None of my USB connected devices appear in iTunes (12.4.0.119) on a MBP. Someone else?

I just wanted to save both my iPhone and my iPod Touch to my Macbook Pro. When I plug them in do they not appear anywhere (but they charge through the USB cable). If I go into file > devices, all the options are greyed out. I experimented with different USB cables as well. It looks like all my devices are up-to-date. Any suggestions? I was able to do this in the past without problem.

    Hi Friskies,

My 2009 Mac Mini started feeling the same exact behavior.

I tried all the usual, including diagnostics

-swap the USB / lightning cable

-try the new cable into another USB port

-J' tried 3 different - now 4 different iPad / iPhone devices, all currently running IOS 9.3.2 (iPhone 5, iPad Mini, iPhone 5 s), 7.1.2 IOS (iPhone 4), latest version as of today.

-The Mac running OS x 10.11.5 - latest version as of today

-J' deleted the contents of the/var/db/lockdown folder

-J' I have reset the privacy settings and place on each device (settings-> general-> reset-> reset card and privacy)

    -J' rebooted IOS devices

-J' killed all other processes running on the MAC including Chrome - about to restart

-Applications Photos always starts and wants to synchronize new photos from any connected device

-Whenever I connect a device iTunes recognizes the device and asks me to trust to the device and the device, I get a pop-up asking me to trust the computer, but I can't select the device in the iTunes window.  QED iTunes does not recognize any IOS device connected to the Mac.

-My next plan of action is a reboot, then download a new copy of iTunes from apple.com/downloads, delete iTunes and re - install.

    Murphy's law strikes.

As I'm typing this post, I've killed the iTunes process and reconnected my iPhone 5.  iTunes starts, I get messages of confidence which I accept, and lo & here's the iPhone 4 starts synchronization. I can see now each device connected to the Mac.

So, in summary, the post is a list of my actions and all the tips that I cleaned of all about Internet forums when I google the topic.

Hope you this help and anyone else who has a similar problem.

  • (Not ready) TosBtMng.exe during closing. Bluetooth cannot connect devices

I noticed that my bluetooth stopped working recently. I can't connect or find near devices.
I can not open bluetooth settings or any application bluetooth came with my laptop. I have a bluetooth module and everything built in.
It was then that I noticed that whenever I tried to stop my laptop, one 'not answer' or 'not ready' message kept popping up to TosBtMng.exe.

I tried to uninstall my previous bluetooth batteries and reinstalled the latest, but the same problem keeps occurring.
TosBtMng.exe installation rail smoothly however, continues to be unresponsive.

    In Device Manager I see:

    + Bluetooth
    -Bluetooth RFBUS
    -Bluetooth RFCOMM
    -BluetoothRFHID
    -Bt-183 Bluetooth 2.0

    + Ports (COM & LPT)
    -BTPort (COM10 - COM14)
    -BTPort (COM20 - COM21)
    -BTPort (COM6)
    -BTPort (COM65)

I understand that there should be something under system and USB devices, but I don't see anything else.

I used ([http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315539/EN-US/ | http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315539/EN-US/]) this link to view non-connected devices and I see a whole bunch of phantom ports. I do not know how to connect these ports. I tried Bluetooth Com Local, but who does not work either.

I read several posts on this forum about it, but I've not seen a solution. Maybe I missed something? If anyone knows of one, could you please direct me to this solution? Thank you!

At first, I have to say that it will be interesting to know what Toshiba laptop you have and what operating system you are using. I assume you are using Windows XP Home edition. am I right about that?

I use BT on my WXP preinstalled Satellite M70 nearly two years now and everything is working fine. If you can't get this to work using BT more recent battery maybe you need to reinstall your laptop using recovery media delivered.

  • I can determine the amount of traffic to/from my Internet connection through my Airport due to each connected device (both wireless and Ethernet)?

My traffic internet, as reported by my ISP, has increased significantly in the past few months and I would like to determine where this increase. Devices that potentially connect via my Airport are:

Wireless:-2 iPad, 2 iPhones, iPods, MacBook Pro

Ethernet:-desktop HP, Swann CCTV security system.

Unfortunately, airport routers provide no information on the use of the data of the connected devices, or the product itself.

I'm not aware of a 3rd party application that would do exactly what you want... but someone else may know, and if all goes well they after.

  • Firefox IOS contains 6 connected devices when none are connected

When you try to synchronize Firefox in IOS I get 'Not Sync not available'. When I press the "Clock", under "Synchronized devices" icon it said "6 device (s)".

I only have my laptop and Ipad which I am trying to sync?

Why Firefox IOS think I have 6 devices?

Update 1: I uninstalled Firefox on my Ipad, then reinstalled, retried Sync failed and now it says 7 devices? Update 2: this is getting ridiculous - I synced my Ipad via Itunes and Firefox on my Ipad now reflects my laptop. This is despite IOS Firefox still saying "Sync is not available.

Update 3: without making any change, Firefox on my laptop now syncs with my Ipad and the number of connected devices has been delayed to 1 on Firefox IOS.

When I request a Sync on Firefox IOS is still says 'Sync is unavailable' but the synchronisation actually takes place.

  • WRT1200AC/1900AC WIRED Intermittent connectivity software company (Cisco) VPN - resolved

I work from a Home Office 24 x 7 as a software engineer supporting the business intelligence world production for a credit/bank card issuer applications - so my 'stuff' has to work.  My components materials network and the machines are "top-shelf."  I recently added a WRT1900AC router and have started to feel the intermittent connectivity WIRED to VPN my company (Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client).  To be clear, this has nothing to do with the setting of the OpenVPN server is available via the user interface of the Linksys Smart Wi - Fi.  In any case, after many hours of research and changes the configuration on the router (with a significant amount of curse and aggravation), I solved the problem by using the areas of prioritization of media and bandwidth downstream from the HMI.  Question a also experienced, but to a lesser extent, during the wireless connection.  It was confusing, since generally the when router problems occur, they seem to be more related to the Wi - Fi connection rather than wired.  Anyway, I wanted to share this info with other poor souls that might have been ostrasized of their family, friends and colleagues as a result of this almost apocalyptic puzzle.

You are welcome. Happy holidays! Certainly happy to clarify as needed.

  • AFTER THE UPGRADE INTERMITTENT CONNECTION

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME ON MY PROBLEM. I BOUGHT MY WIRELESS ROUTER WRT54G2 IN NOVEMBER 2009 WITH STABLE CONNECTION. I UPGRADED THE FIRMWARE THE OTHER DAY FROM VER.1.0.03 TO VER.1.0.04. AFTER A DAY, I NOTICED AN INTERMITTENT CONNECTION EVERY NOW AND THEN... I CALLED THE INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER, BUT THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T FIND ERROR IN MY REGARD. PLEASE PROVIDE LINKS TO WHERE I CAN DOWNLOAD MY PREVIOUS FIRMWARE... THNX IN ANDVANCE...

FYI... I used the wired connection for my PC 4

After each update of the firmware, you must hard reset the router and reconfigure.  Press and hold the button of reset for 30 seconds and then release.  Wait 30 seconds and now the router power cycle.  Once complete connect you via your wired computer to 192.168.1.1 user name empty, admin password.  Now reconfigure the router and your wireless settings and test.
