Internal HD will not rise in Recovery Mode

I have an MBA who said that I had to repair the disk 11'.  Easy fix right?  So I restarted the computer and enter in Recovery Mode, to make a repair in disk utility and the HD is grayed out.  I can't select it, nothing.  I ended up installing El Capitan and during the installation he completed repairs, but I still can't get to HD in repair mode.  The computer starts and works fine otherwise.  I must stress that the HD is a secondary market Transcend that we replaced a year ago.  Now my client wants to wipe the computer and give it to a family member, but like I already said I can't make a clean wipe and install via the recovery mode.  Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Rob

What version of Mac OS X has been pre-installed, when it was new? If you plan give away, and then you must clear the disc and install the version that CSME with the computer. If it's on DVD, you need the installation discs.

Before you sell or give your Mac before Lion

Follow the instructions until you get to step 5:

What to do before you sell or give away your Mac - Apple Support

When you get to step 5, you will need your Snow Leopard or earlier installation disc that came with the computer when it was new.

  1. Follow these steps to install the original version of the operating system that came with the computer.

1. start the computer using the Snow Leopard installation disc or disc 1 that came

with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.

After the ring, press and hold the C"" key.  Release the button when you see

a small gear appear under the dark gray Apple logo.

2. once the load setup program select your language and click continue

button. When the menu bar appears select utility drive in the Utilities menu.

After disk utility charges select the hard disk entry in the list on the left (mfgr. ID and)

size of the disk.)  Click the Partition tab in the main window of THE.  Set the number of

partitions to one (1) from the Partitions of the dropdown menu, click on the Options button

GUID, click OK, and then select define the Mac OS Extended format type

(Journaled), then click on the apply button.

3. when formatting is complete FROM and return to the installer.  Move forward

with the installation of OS X and follow the instructions included with the installer.

4. If you plan to sell or to give to your remote computer, then proceed as follows:

Once you reformat your hard disk and reinstall OS X, the computer restarts with a

Screen of welcome and you prompt to choose a country or region. If you want to leave

the Mac in an out-of-box state, do not continue with the configuration of your system. Instead,.

Press command-Q to stop the Mac. When the new owner turns on the Mac,

the Setup Wizard will guide them through the configuration process.

Otherwise, if it came with Lion or later:

I have a 2005/2006 IMac G5. I started it yesterday, after a few years in the area. He started well, so I ran the updates. After the system shuts down, it has not restarted. When I turn it on it come to la? and file screen. I tried both Internet recovery mode and recovery mode, but it ends finally in the? and file screen, the screens of recovery mode to jump. I have an external hard drive with time machine back ups. When I restart with the hard drive attached and hold down option, a screen with a return of arrows and an arrow appears, but no hard drive does not appear above them. Any help is appreciated

There is no recovery or recovery Internet in Mac G5. You can install the system is Leopard (10.5) and this can be done from the installation discs. The system initially installed a Tiger (1.04), once again, the only installable from installation discs. Either type of installation disc can be started from to perform an audit on the hard disk in disk utility. You cannot start from the Time Machine disk because it does not contain an operating system.

Your first step is to boot from the floppy to install for any system you have installed - insert the floppy disk, and then restart holding + command + c. When it is loaded (which will take some time) go to the Utilities menu and choose disk utility: run the ERD. If it is able to correct any errors, you should then try to install from the disc.

    1. click on START
    2. right click "My computer" and select "Properties".
"3. click on the tab"Hardware", then select Device Manager.
    4. expand the "Network adapters" category

  • Lightning will not rise after Windows update 10

My computer came installed with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. The computer has a Thunderbolt 2 interface. I loaded the software and the drivers were mounted and worked a lot their use in Garland.

External drives are USB 3.0 and LaCie thunderbolt. The computer was shipped with the HP security software. I did the upgrade to Windows 10; in the Windows dialog box update, said could not be updated without removing the HP security. I said yes, and since that time, readers not only mount.  After the update, and readers would not mount. I then used system restored and returned the computer to Windows 7.

When I tried to reload the drivers for LaCie drivers, I get cannot lack of file sysInfo.dll. I download this file, place it in the system 32 folder. After a reboot, I tried and the pilot program installed. However, readers will not rise. I contacted HP and they remote connected to my computer, BIOS update installed, chip set drivers and still drives don't mount not via the port of Thuderbolt2.

They run a lot when it is connected to the USB 3.0 port. My logic is readers are very much like the mount and run fine with USB 3.0, but is no longer the mount with the crush. I am a photographer and work with large files often 1 GB or more. Thus, the impact of lightning speed is desired.

I have the drive Professional OEM Windows 7 SP1, however I have a large amount of the image installed and that you hope to find a way to solve this problem without the operating system reinstallation and all the photo editing programs. A pre thank you for everything that helps her.

  • Air iPad - iTunes does not recognize the recovery mode because it detects that the device is locked with a password

Well I'm really frustrated here. I have an iPad Air that I bought for my roommate who unfortunately passed away in October, and so his family gave me his iPad Air and all the other things I had bought for him.

Here's the question. iTunes appears whenever I turn it on and says he can't go because its locked with a password. Good not much according to Apple's site, I reboot into recovery mode... Problem is... nor iTunes 11 or 12 will be pop - up and say its been detected in recovery mode, even if I restart the computer and then reopen iTunes.

What I'm missing here? I am running Windows 8.1, the computer recognizes that its been plugged with two modes... It is the thing of most frustrating I've ever lived and I can't do it in recovery unless its connected to the computer. I tried pressing the home key, which starts just the iPad as usual, as soon as I fix the cord. Also, I don't know what version of the software is (I guess 7 since he never really used) - apparently different versions of the software have different recovery quirks.

I tried the DFU instructions and powers of the iPad on the same before Apple logo the first 3 seconds that you are supposed to hold down the power button.

I am disabled and home because of the panic and anxiety so go to the Apple store isn't something that would be easy for me so if anyone has a solution, I'm all ears.

It was easier to make a gold card HTC that is to delete this thing and that says a lot, considering the amount of work went into those back in the day...

One last thing. iTunes will NOT open if the iPad is already connected. I have to unplug it, forcing iTunes close then reopen.

You should try to do a hard reboot on the air of the iPad, press and hold the power button and the home button until the apple logo appears.

  • Can not access the Recovery Mode

    Hello guys,.

I have a very annoying problem.

I can't enter mode recovery on my iMac 27 "late 2011, El Capitan 10.11.1.
After pressing 'control' + 'r' at the start, the recovery mode is loading, however, when the progress bar reaches half width computer is turn off.

When I try to access the Boot Manager ('option' button) turns on but after the selection of the recovery disc the situation in almost the same thing - is to turn off the computer.

It is a very annoying problem because if I have problems I won't be able to fix my Mac...

    I await your response.

If you do not already have a current backup, please backup all data, and then reinstall the OS. * you don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need the backup unless something is wrong. If the system has been upgraded an earlier version of Mac OS X, you may need to the Apple ID and password to use.

There are ways to back up a computer that is not fully functional. Ask if you need advice.

If you installed the runtime Java distributed by Apple, and still need, you will need to reinstall it. It goes the same for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.

Related support article refers to OS X 10.11 ("El Capitan"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later versions.

If you are still able to start a normal Windows there is a work around.

In Windows, search programs and files box, type "msconfig".

Select the Startup tab and choose start as in the image below. Now, restart the laptop and you should start in Windows safe mode.

Don't forget to go back into msconfig later you will start up in the normal Windows installation again. If you forget to do this, it will always start in safe mode.

How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

You can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their way of doing recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
