Internet while projecting WiDi?

Hi all!

I had a problem with the latest drivers and my Intel Centrino Wireless - N 2230

so I replaced it with Intel Centrino Advanced-N dual band 6235.

Everything is good, the latest drivers installed and works very well.

But there is a new problem that I've never had before and is really annoying:

I can't browse the Internet while projecting to my TV with Intel WiDi.

I made sure that everything is installed and updated.

So I deleted all drivers and my TV and then everything has been installed again and reconnected my TV.

so it worked wonderfully, I could stream Netflix and project to my TV.

But the next day when I restarted my laptop and wanted to Youtube of the project the problem was back again.

Projection works fine but no Internet when connected to my tv. When I disconnect Internet TV is back.

All the time while projecting, I see that I am connected to the Internet, but I can not navigate on it.

It worked fine before so it should be able to work again with your help.

Here is my info to laptops:

Product name: HP ENVY dv6 Notebook PC (dv6-7252eo)

Product number: C1Y10EA #UUW

Total memory: 16,00 GB

Processor name Intel (r) Core i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40 GHz

OS: Windows 8.1

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards

Hi Voja,

Thank you for your request, I will do my best to help you.

I understand that you have installed the NIC Intel(r) Centrino Advanced-N 6235 dual band and installed updated drivers and it worked fine. Now but when you are connected to the TV, you are unable to browse the Internet.

Remove you all the drivers and reinstalled, reconnected to your TV and everything worked. Off for the evening, you restarted the next day and the problem comes back. If you disconnect the TV you can navigate on the Internet again.

I suggest that you repeat the steps to get it working again. It may be that an update comes through while you're online and once you restart takes effect and refer the matter.

Here is a link to help you with up-to-date facilities.  Problems with the installation of the updates. Please note the section on "I installed a updates (or update the driver), and now one of my devices does not work.

  • Block of Win 7 Internet while allowing a Linux VM to use the net

Hi, is it possible?  I tried the opposite, LinuxMint boot, then a VM Win7, which works fine internet blocking from the Win VM Internet form, but work a bit slow Windows for my Image processing programs.

Thus returned to a boot of Win 7 64 and ideally want to be able to use the Linux VM (9) to surf the net, while blocking the windows to be connected on.

Thanks in advance, Ian in Oz.

If the Virtual Machine is configured to use Bridged Networking, then you can stop the host itself to have an Internet/network connectivity by deselecting everything except VMware Bridge Protocol in the reception of the network adapter properties.  Or at least uncheck, Client of Microsoft Networks, file and print sharing for Microsoft Networks, Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

  • Vista has ceased to connect to Internet while XP works fine

I was able to connect laptop computers XP and Vista desktop for a few years.  This week my Vista desktop becomes suddenly as a local connection to 'unidentified network' wireless so no Internet.  When I plugged the Vista desktop with a cable, that I could not he was looking for a username and password for the ISP to allow the connection.  Verizon technical support could not fix the problem - says no user name or password is required - with the lack of connectivity wired and wireless.  Is it just a Vista problem?  A recent update Windows change something that has caused this problem?  I noticed that this seems to be an unsolved problem here and on the Verizon forums.  It seems that this must be a Vista problem, due to the fact that XP has no problem connecting.  Thank you.

    Hi TinTheBear,

Thank you for using answers Forum.

In the future, I suggest starting your own thread about your question to get the right support.
    :]

You can check for third-party wifi software that may have been installed with your network card.
If it is running and you try to use Vista to control network and password/password encryption settings, they may sometimes conflict and causes this problem.

Since your able to login in safe mode, I'm curious to know how you did the clean boot, you mentioned in your message.
"Disable programs and services at startup"-copied from your post.

Here is a method to try:

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. This article describes how to solve problems in Windows Vista by performing a clean boot. This article also describes how to start the Windows Installer service and how to reset the computer so that it starts as usual.

Note When you perform a clean boot, you may temporarily lose some functionality. When you start the computer as usual, the function returns. However, you may receive the error message, or you can experience the original behavior.

If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.

    a. log in the computer using an account with administrator rights.

    b. click on start toreduce this includes this image, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.

Reduce this includes this imageIf you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click continue.

    c. under the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the Load Startup items check box. (The box use the Boot file is not available.)

    d. on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft services check box and then click on disable all.

Note Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

    e. click OK, and then click restart.

Step 2: Enable half the services

    a. follow steps 1a and 1B to start the System Configuration utility.

    b. click on the Services tab and then click to select the hide all Microsoft services check box.

    c. Click to select half of the check boxes in the Service list.

    d. click OKand then click restart.

Step 3: Determine whether the problem returns

If the problem persists, repeat steps 1 and 2. In step 2, click to clear half of the check boxes that you have initially enabled in the Service list.

If the problem does not occur, repeat steps 1 and 2. In step 2, select only half of the remaining check boxes that are cleared in the Service list. Repeat these steps until you have selected all the check boxes.

If only one service is selected in the list of services , and you the problem persists, the service selected the cause of the problem. Go to step 6. If no service is causing this problem, go to step 4.

Step 4: Enable half of the startup items

    a. perform a clean boot by repeating step 1.

    b. click on the Startup tab and then click to select half of the check boxes in the startup item list.

    c. click OK, and then click restart.

Step 5: Determine whether the problem returns

If the problem persists, repeat steps 1 and 4. In step 4, click to clear half of the check boxes that you have originally selected in the startup item list.

If the problem does not occur, repeat steps 1 and 4. In step 4, select only half of the remaining check boxes that are cleared in the startup item list. Repeat these steps until you have selected all the check boxes.

If only one startup item is selected in the startup item list, and you still experience the problem, start selected in the list element is the service that is causing the problem. Go to step 6.

If no startup item causes this problem, a Microsoft service most likely the cause of the problem. To determine which Microsoft service may be causing the problem, repeat step 1 and step 2 without selecting the hide all Microsoft services check box in each step.

    Step 6: Resolve the problem

After you determine the startup item or the service that is causing the problem, contact the manufacturer of the program to determine if the problem can be solved. Or, run the System Configuration utility, and then click to clear the check box of the element of the problem.

Step 7: Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

Click on start toreduce this includes this image, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER.

Reduce this includes this imageIf you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click continue.

On the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

When you are prompted to restart the computer, click restart.

Please let us know if that helps.

  • I can't connect wirelessly to the Internet, while other devices are able?

I can't connect to the Internet with my laptop.  This began a few days ago.  But we can still connect to the Internet via a wireless router with other devices yet.    Page says "Internet explorer cannot display the web page. When I click on diagnose connection problems, he said that it is my router or modem.  But my other devices still work.  I try the other suggestions but they just get into a circle with no result.   Any suggestions?  Ideas with my veryyyyyyy limited knowledge of computers.

I also had this problem, but my husband seems to have found the answer by searching other responses. The problem seems to be related to windows 8.1.

If you go to control panel, network and internet, then network and sharing Center, click on your WiFi connection, and then select the power management options, you may find that the option to "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is checked.

Uncheck this option seems to have solved my problem, because I had no problems since

  • Setting up of Smartphones blackBerry Internet while abroad

I am currently abroad in Austria and I'm trying to set up internet on my blackberry "BOLD". I already bought a SIM with Orange to and paid for an internet package. However, I still can't internet on my phone. Data services are on and the sim card is active. My phone is not locked. Anyone know what may be the problem?

    Thank you

Hello and welcome to the community!

So, by what you say, you intend to have full BIS via the Austrian carrier, then you must also be sure that your home carrier frees your BB PIN of their system of BIS. A BB PIN can exist in a single carrier system BIS at the same time... it is often automatic when you do as you have done, but sometimes not... then, contact your home provider to make sure that their BIS system has released your BB PIN.

    Good luck!

  • Unable to browse the internet while connected to the VPN

    Hi all..

It was working fine until yesterday morning... Since then, I am not able to browse the internet it I am connected to the VPN... I get a "Page cannot be displayed" error message... the second that I disconnect VPN, I am able to browse internet... I did not change/facilities to do... help please...

    Thank you...

Check to see if you can ping by IP address (make sure that the DNS information are properly learnt). Also try setting MTU interface to 1300 in case there is a change within the network of your ISP. What is mode NAT or NAT device not compatible?

  • Lose the internet while connected to the VPN

I've seen quite a few threads of not being able to connect to internet when connected to the VPN. I tried to follow but have not be able to follow. I connect to the VPN via IE (that is connected by using Check Point). How can I go about it?

That's the problem of split tunnel. In general, the VPN tunnel can be configured on the client side (as the native client VPN PPTP in Windows for example) or side Server (like OpenVPN for example) to force all traffic through the VPN tunnel or not. If all the traffic is forced through the VPN tunnel, which is what your description, internet access is controlled by the VPN server. It is a safety precaution to isolate the network side server from your local network.

I would check with your network/VPN to help admins simply because may fall you on a server-side config that may or may not be changed according to their network security protocols.
