Interruption Optimus latency

Hello

I have suffered with problems of latency interruption for a long period. They greatly affect my touchpad, as soon as they are sometimes very insensitive. Recently, I tried to watch 1080 p videos and the interrupt latency is simply too high for the video to follow.

After spending many hours playing with the drivers, I finally reduced the problem down to the Nvidia Optimus drivers. With the disabled driver I have averaged about 120us, while with the compatible driver, I am continually see latency beyond 2ms. However, the problem seems to be intermittent, every few minutes or if the latency will be fine, and then it will begin to spike.

Everyone has similar problems or know a solution?

After reading the rest of the forums, this seems to be the same problem that the ' T410 extremely annoying Audio problems, "but I did have some audio issues, only video. I'm going to call this resolved until the new Optimus drivers are out.

Thank you.

No doubt others have asked this question, but I have not be able to locate the answers - so apologies in advance if it duplicates the previous messages.

I am a user of e-mail veteran, who moved from Eudora mail when I moved from POP IMAP in iCloud. I have * several * mailboxes, residing within other batches. Mail has always worked like a charm, but, since his arrival at El Capitan, there is a latency and boring when you perform routine operations. For example, I read and a message, only to discover later in the Inbox. I learned to leave "fluffy" for several minutes before deleting or moving them or try to delete attachments from messages. Even though I have a very fast Mac, abandonment of the Mail - and only Mail - may take several minutes. In the past, all these operations were virtually instantaneous.

Nothing in my situation has changed - beyond travel to El Capitan. (I'm running OS X on a Mac Pro 2013 10.11.3). It is if the Mail is in conversation at a leisurely pace with iCloud and not tolerate interruptions. Is this the new normal? Or is there something I can do to return the mail to its previous level of reactivity?

The current version of the letter isn't able to process subfolders of mailboxes on an IMAP or Exchange Server. If you create these subfolders, I suggest that you sign in to the account in a web browser, move messages out of the subfolders and then delete the subfolders. Use smart mailboxes to organize your e-mail.

    I have this input signal:

I have to do something about rising as soon as possible.

My idea is to receive a break hw of the Board of Directors and write a Sri soubroutine.

I read about the callback function, so I write code.

Now... is my question on port0 a thread of software that continually read the value of the pins?

Or is it still a material interruption?

I think a software thread has a large latency for me, at this point useless 6602 jury,

    Thanks for the reply.

If you do not want to read the value of the counter, try replacing the code read what follows:

You currently ask 1000 samples to read so the Read function is blocked until 1000 samples are available.  Reading is not necessary if all you want to do is raise the event to do something else (which is what it sounded like messages earlier).

Let me know how it goes!

  • In mode Optimus (W520) high battery drain

    TL; DR version:

When the BIOS is set to the integrated graphics card, the energy consumption on W520 is 10-14 watts. If you select mode Optimus, it's more than 25 watts (less than 4 hours). What gives?

    ---------------------------

Hi, I got W520 (2820qm, Quadro 2000 m, 16 GB HyperX) and as I was installing a new SSD drive, I reinstalled Windows 7 from zero (mode UEFI), installed the driver ethernet card and all of the installed update system you need.

The problem is that when the system is running on battery power, the power consumption is more than 25 watts, resulting in less than 4 hours of autonomy, unlike the reports + hours mode Optimus 7 comments. I suspect it is a problem with the drivers/settings/etc. to card technology/nVidia Optimus, since when I switch to the integrated in the BIOS graphics, use of power supply goes from 10 to 14 watts, which seems normal.

    I have already tried:
    -installed system update drivers Lenovo
-latest Intel drivers and more recent nVidia Verde drivers
    -Latest BIOS
-activity nVidia icon in the status bar, he said that no programs are running on discrete GPU
-settings nVidia resetting to default values
-searching the Internet for several hours (found nothing) solutions
-juggle with the Manager of power, trying to Stretch Battery settings (got as low as 20 + watts, who is still only 4.5 hours)

Anyone have any idea what may be wrong or anything to check? Is this a known issue?

(Also, on an unrelated note: has high DPC latency with audio abandon, had to disable TCP and discharges of IPv4 on Intel wired NIC)

It works fine for me with a clean install, latest version of the bios, latest intel + nvidia drivers. Manager power shows the nvidia icon or not? The gauge must be 100% for graphics, no icon showing nvidia. The nvidia tray icon should be gray.

  • interruptions and serial Comms

I collect data from a number of devices using RS485.

Data collection is initiated by a request message sent from the PC to the device and a message is displayed.

I need "divorce" the transformation data collection, and to this end, I tried using multithreading.

It works to a certain extent, but the change of context seems to take too long.

Data throughput is 115kBaud, messages are ~ 8 bytes for the request and ~ 30 bytes for the answer.

There are up to 32 devices, and I need to acquire every 5 times per second.

    (This is equivalent to 5 * 32 * (8 + 30) = 6080 bytes 60800 bits every second.)

This is feasible at a baud rate of 115 k baud rate, with about 53% of the use of the communication channels).

To make this work correctly, I need to be able to "hang" for interrupts generated by the device drivers for transmit them and receive so that the passage of shipment to receive can be achieved with minimum latency.

Maintenance of data for to transmit them and receive would not take too long, even if done on each of the characters.

Is this possible without the need to write a device driver?

If Yes, how would you please.

I didn't program anything in RS485, but have you tried the function for InstallComCallback?  There you can set different reminders for the different characters received.

  • ea6900 causes of latency in DOUBLES. compared to the modem.

    have a latest firmware ea6900.

the router double my time of latency in all online activities.

I live in massachusetts, this is what it's like.

    with ea6900 + modem

    40-60ms Chicago

    router ea6900 interrupt

and Modem connected directly to your pc.

    15-20ms Newyork City

    35. Chicago 40ms...

    MY QUESTION IS!

HOW DO YOU GET THE NORMAL (MODEM) LATENCY WITH THIS ROUTER.

    I WOULDN'T DOUBLE MS LATENCY.

If the wireless connection is on or off the effect 0.

If multiple connections or the connection ONLY 1 has effect 0.

I just want to get rid of this router?

not to mention that the high latency that it produces, it seems to be 100% ok...

    BUT THIS LATENCY! AAAAAAH!

    HOW TO FIX!

    Buy the new router?

OK, thanks for the impromptu support/help! (I'm kidding)

but I found a solution, so: YADIRA:

    allright.

    Here is the solution.

step 1. connect to 192.168.1.1 firmware

    step 2. go to "connectivity".

    step 3. Select "Internet settings".

step 4. Select "clone mac address" and enable it.

NOTE: the internet will probably die when you do this, its ok... Just go with it...

Wait for the router to finish the mac cloning (maybe 1 minute).

    step 5.

Disable all devices connected to the router... (stop all PCs, tablets, smartphones, whatever)

    step 6.

Go to your Modem and unplug / turn it off for 30 seconds...

    step 7.

Turn off your router once your modem is turned off.

    step 8.

now just let the these 2 devices for 1-2 minutes... off...

    step 9.

Plug the modem back, let it scroll until he is 100% ready again... coool.

    step 10.

turn on the router, let it reboot and do its thing...

    step 11.

back on the devices connected to all pc...

NOTE: You will probably see again 'NO INTERNET CONNECTION!'

    ITS OK!  Do not worry!

    Step 12.

now, go back to your MODEM.

    and unplug/restart it 1 time...

    (NOT THE ROUTER, THE MODEM)

    step 13.

RightClick your desktop internet icon and let him do something like this ideas.

    "solve problems etc.

step 14.   Wait for the pc to do its thing, try to open a web browser, etc.

your internet connection will be fix auto itself on the windows operating system.

After you complete these steps, I solved my problem of high latency.

Here's my current time of pings on a server WITH MODEM AND ROUTER CONNECTED browser.

    PERFECT!

Honestly, what are the pings I would give 100% expect to see with a decent internet connection.

He now works 100% I expect for my Internet/connection access provider.

If someone the players know the pings high with routers, but the normal pings with modems...

try cloning your mac and shuttingdown/restart all Modem/router/computer devices

    in the order mentioned above...

NOTE: you will see 'No. INTERNET CONNECTION' when executing this tweak, just go with it...

    and follow the above steps...

hope this helps everyone knows the abnormally high with routers pings all in game...

now I have to go, there are millions of virgins, I have to kill in counter-strike.

    Nice day.

    Hello

great that you have found my guide on phpcs.com :)

The HECI.sys driver is part of the Intel(r) Management Engine Interface, so update, please.

For the usbport question, remove the USB external hard drive and update the driver of the motherboard.

Also install the Sp2, you always use the Sp1.

On the client side of Iperf use the-b option to specify the available bandwidth. [UDP]

    I hope this helps.

    See here:

    http://OpenManiak.com/Iperf.php

UDP tests: (-u), bandwidth settings (-b)
    Also see the section "Jperf.

UDP tests with the argument u will give valuable information on the jitter and packet loss. If you do not specify the argument - u, Iperf uses the TCP protocol.
To keep a good quality link, the packet loss should not go more than 1%. A high packet loss rates will generate a lot of retransmissions of TCP segment that will have an impact on bandwidth.

The Jig is basically the variation in latency and doesn't depend on the latency. You can have high response times and a very low jitter. The jitter value is especially important on network links supporting voice over IP (VoIP) as a high jitter can interrupt a call.
The argument-b allows the allocation if the desired bandwidth.

  • CPU latency

I'm trying to find a definition of the time of latency (measured in percent) found in the CPU graph options in ESXi 5.0.

The "description of counter" suggests "the percent of the time, the virtual machine cannot run because it is suitor for access to the physical CPU", which sounds very similar to the CPU Ready description that suggests the "percentage of time that the virtual machine was ready, but could not get scheduled to run on the physical processor.

However, in my remarks, the latency of the CPU and CPU Ready move together.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks, Liam.

There are 4 States of CPU. At least according to the white paper of vSphere CPU scheduler 5.1 :-)

Here is my understanding. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    4 States above gives 100%.
    100% = RUN + READY + % % WAIT CSTP

When adding first, a virtual machine is RUN or in a READY State according to the availability of a physical CPU at the level of the ESX layer.

A virtual machine in the READY State is distributed by the vmkernel CPU scheduler and goes into State of EXECUTION. In the executing State, the virtual machine is served by the hypervisor and can do what it is supposed to do. Latency of loan & CPU CPU are similar
Latency: % of the time the VM cannot run because it's supported for access to the physical processor.
Loan: % of the time that the virtual machine was ready, but could not get scheduled to run on the physical processor. [e1: this is the total of all virtual machines in the ESX]
So it seems that the loan is after the latency time. Latency will go up first, as the favorite NUMA kernel might not be available, ready will follow when it has no basis available to all.

It can be later off planned by vmkernel and enters a State LOAN or COSTOP. Co Stop happening if the virtual machine has > 1 vCPU and one of them is waiting for the other. Waiting happens because ESXi has insufficient physical CPU to serve. That's why you should right the size of the virtual machine. RDY % include % MLMTD, which is VM was ready to run, but has not been scheduled for time CPU due to the limit. You should not use Limit.

The VM has stopped is launched jointly by the suite and enters the READY State, which is ready for use. So ready time does not include the time to stop Co. You need to measure them both.

A virtual machine in the executing State may enter a WAIT state. Normally, it is because he is waiting for a resource and woke up later once the resource is available. It is normally the work of IO, such as waiting for a disc to return control of the table.

When a virtual machine is idle, not to intervene, between WAIT_IDLE, a particular type of the WAIT state. So it's not actually not waiting for what it is. A world of slow motion is awoken whenever it is interrupted.

WAITING also includes % SWPWT, which is CPU waits VMKernel swap memory

I had problems with other software crashes when I'm on a satellite link. This is probably because of the huge latency that can be regarded as a failure of the link. Ping times are usually 800ms but can sometimes be 2000ms!
